She knew she had trained for this over the past months, and she did her best to ignore all the times she had crashed into people on her broom. That was all in the past! Right now, she was going to win.

Speed: Top Speed is 6, however when you reach a speed of 6 this increases to a 10% chance that you will auto miss (with anything requiring an accuracy roll) and you will be auto-hit (with anything requiring a dodge roll).

Secondary note: Somehow between the start of this race and last summer, my stats were returned to my second year stats. Maybe I forgot to send in an update, but my banner has the stats I decided on for third year which leads me to believe in some trunk update it got messed up. Or it’s a mistake on my part. Thought I’d mention it.

Adrenaline pumped through her veins, burning like gasoline. God it felt good. It didn't matter to her that she was no longer leader of the pack, she'd just sent the more experienced and better equipped Starkey even faster ahead to blaze the trail. She looked up to see a blueclad racer rising high into the clouds. She'd been up there like that once, and promptly got blatched off when she came back down by her own flesh and blood @Alyssea Brown. Now there's an idea.

"Slytherin takes the offensive route. Ashwood and McCoire go for Quinn—she's an easy target above them. Ashwood misses, but McCoire brings her back down to the obstacles. The strength of that spell is probably leaving her feeling a bit winded! Winchect goes for Fernandez, but the eagle is able to easily dodge—probably because she has come to a complete stop like her teammate Gwild. Not sure what clever strategy Ravenclaw is betting on, but I hope, for their sake, it starts kicking in soon.

"Selwyn, Prince, Ashwood, and Winchect are lost in the fog, with Prince taking the fastest route. She is able to pull ahead to join Ranvier, Mallary, and Quinn in the passage. All birds fly flawlessly—except Mallary: she takes a hit on the passage and a polar plunge in the waterfall.

"Quinn catches up with Norrick, taking a few bruises from some trees on the way. But neither is able to keep up with Starkey. He's way ahead—the thorns and wrackspurts best him but don't slow him down. He doesn't even notice the boggart! Starkey hardly takes a glance at the devil's snare! Wow! He's really doing it! He could win it! He's almost there! Could this finally be a win for Slytherin?!
