Well, here they were again. Back at Hogwarts for summer camp and, more importantly - in Cassie's not-so-humble opinion - broom racing. Honestly, the inter-school broom racing tournament was the main reason Cassie had turned up to camp at all, and definitely the main event, in her eyes. As she and the rest of the Beauxbatons team prepared to race, she offered high-fives to her teammates and grinned along with Maxi's mini pre-flight pep talk. Time to shine, indeed.

Yes, broomracing wasn't exactly quidditch, her true love, but it was still sport, and it was sport that involved a broomstick and that was something. She turned to smile at her teammates, none of whom she knew very well, but whom she was sure would help her - and their school, of course - to win the game. "Here goes nothing."

Raphael breathed in deeply, then out again. This summer camp was weird. It was summer, supposed to be warm - well, it still kind of was? - and instead they'd turned it into this frosty snow landscape. So the ground was cold. The sun was warm-ish (or what the British thought was warm). Only Hogwarts students would come up with this kind of nonsense.

But it didn't matter, he was here to race, first and foremost. Away from the cold sparkling ground. Or cold mushy ground, with how many people were stomping around on it. He offered a rare smile to Cassie and held out his fist for a bump. With Sylvie gone, they were now the oldest on the team. The others received a nod, Maxi and Celine, Charlottà and Delphine; his opponents got a considering stare. Well, they wouldn't be better than the Hogwarts kids they'd raced against last year, and he'd almost beaten those.

Here she was, yet again, for another Summer of broom sports- yet this one was different. Last year she'd helped her quidditch team to victory, and this year she was competing in her first official international broom race. Sure they had them back in South America, but this was different. This was against the Europeans. She was determined to show the other school , ironically the one she had supported in her mixed quidditch team last year, who the better schools were.

Stepping up to the line with her Silver Arrow, she made sure to memorise where her team mates were positioned, before she mounted her broom. She was ready.

Maxi almost immediately took a liking towards his newly bought broom - swift as it was, he managed to dodge a coming spell with much ease and grace. Gripping on the handle, he zoomed forward along with his fellow teammates, through high winds, into a frozen forest, and off through a passagew - oh no. Maxi grimaced when he bumped into the icy wall and was awarded with bruises. He breathed, attempting to ease the pain (rather unsuccessfully), but he had no time to lose. Again hoping forward into a new set of forest - beware, Bundimun! - Maxi squeezed himself through the way, agilely gliding over the fungus. This wasn’t a bad start, thank goodness.

Dephine didn’t have the best of luck today. First a dumb frozen forest, then an annoying narrow passageway, and finally corrosive, disgusting Bundimun secretions - ending up with bruises, scratches, and an acid feeling burning on her skin while the race had just started, Delphine grumbled and cursed under her breath. She leaned forward, lowering her barycenter - despite all the sufferings, there’s no doubt she had full confidence that she would conquer every obstacle coming up. Everybody make the occasional boo-boo after all, huh?

The racers from the other school seemed like a tough opponent. Many of them looked like they are some years older than most of the Castelobruxo's racers. Javier could felt the cold down to his spine and an axious feeling that wrap his neck. But once moderator started the race, all of these feelings were gone. His mind was full of flying faster amd faster.

"Thanks," Javier smirked to his teammate, Lorelai @Violeta Roux, after he threw Javier forward to reach more units. The boy flew so fast, trying to evade the obstacles. Almost all of them could be evaded except that tree in the unit 2. A bruise was formed under his skin from the hit.
