It happened when he was eight years old. It was an accident. But he still only has himself to blame.

It was a full moon on Halloween night; something that definitely fascinated Kyle. Kyle had always wished that every Halloween was a full moon, since it fit the theme of Halloween more. Kyle had been taught that for some weird reason, whenever it was a full moon, weirdos would be out, but nothing would keep Kyle inside for Halloween. Kyle had been invited to an all-wizard party that his friend Otto was hosting, and of course he was going. No parent had the full details on what was happening. Otto's parents were at work, with no idea of the party. Kyle's dad said he could, his mom had no idea. And other parents were pretty oblivious. The house was nowhere near the woods. Around five o'clock, he made his way down to his friend's house.

When he get there, all of his friends were there, and the party was pretty strong. There were plenty of games, and Kyle knew he was going to play all of them. And he did. It was extremely fun. When he went to eat his food, his friends Otto and Roland came up to him.
They struck up a short conversation, when Otto said what he wanted to do. He wanted to go into the woods, and try to find a werewolf. Kyle thought that was the most stupidest idea ever, and he let him know that. Not only would there be werewolf's, but also vampires. But Otto, he seemed like he really wanted to do this, said they'd only look at it from a distance. Kyle finally gave in, and they left the party.

They entered the woods (which was a pretty long walk), cautious with every step they took, looking around for any werewolf, which they didn't find. Otto kept stopping, and Kyle told him, "Why don't we find a damn werewolf and get out of here- quickly!" Luckily, Otto listened to him. They continued to walk, when finally, they heard something rustling around. They all stopped. They heard rustling again. "Don't. Move." Otto said.
"Yeah, well, I think if we don't we're all going to die."
"Yeah, well,, if he hears us moving, he'll come for us." Otto responded, somewhat snooty.
"Oh, bullcrap, the thing can already smell us."
"Maybe he can't"
"It's a werewolf! What do you mean he can't?"
"I mean, he hasn't came out yet."
"Werewolves are smart. It's probably waiting for us to come closer, dumbass."
"Just- let's leave." For once, Otto had a good idea. But it probably would have been better if he had gone the right way.
The werewolf leaped in front of them, snarling and glaring right at them. Kyle was one to support the prejudice against werewolves, but right now... he was probably going to get turned into one. It stood there for a second, but then, the wolf leaped towards them- before he Kyle could figure out he was leaping towards him. But it was too late. The werewolf bit and scratched Kyle multiple times, and his friends threw everything they could at the werewolf, but it didn't work. When Roland threw stones repeatedly at the werewolf, it worked. The werewolf ran away as Roland was pelting it pretty hard with stones.
Otto broke a long silence by saying, "Does- does that mean you're a werewolf?"
Kyle new he was right. He was literally what he was most scared of- he was scared of himself.
Kyle felt both anger and fear as he charged at Otto and beat him until his nose bleed.
Kyle was treated properly to heal the bites and scratched. But he still couldn't believe he was a werewolf. He swore up and down to himself he wouldn't tell anyone.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Wandmaker
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Irene’s Dad was a wand maker, and he had always wanted to make her a wand. Unfortunately for him, Pa thought it would be better for her to buy one at ollivanders first. So that’s what happened, and while it was nice, it never felt quite right. But it would make do, and Irene was never one to complain until… it snapped. And then Pa couldn’t argue anymore, and Irene got a new wand, made by one of the few people who knew her best; her Dad.
Wand Wood: Chestnut

“Chestnut wands are attracted to witches and wizards who are skilled tamers of magical creatures, those who possess great gifts in Herbology and those who are natural fliers.”While Irene doesn’t have a much of an affinity for Magical Creatures, the same does not go for the other two.

One of Irene’s favourite things is gardening, and Herbology isn’t much different. Sure, there’s some differences, but they have the core principles. In fact, it was something that Irene looked forward to Hogwarts. Back in Newport, there wasn’t much space for gardening, but now? The greenhouses at Hogwarts called to Irene and she was happiest when heading off to Herbology.

And not just that, she also loved flying. When she turned eight, her Dad got Irene her first broom. Nothing flashy, just a Shooting Star. Her Pa thought a toy broom for kids might be better, but Irene’s Dad scoffed at the thought. His daughter? On a toy broom? Nonsense. Nevertheless, the second Irene got her hands on the broom, she knew it was perfect for her.
Wand Core: Coral

While Ollivander refused to use this wand core, it was perfect for Irene. With a younger brother who always argues with the other kids and friends who make social drama their pastime, Irene is used to resolving conflict. This makes Coral perfect for her, a natural peacemaker. Irene is also very imaginative, and her head is often in the clouds. Her friends love to joke that if they didn’t distract her, she’d become lost in her own thoughts.
Wand Length: 11 inches
An average length, for an average witch. Not to say that she isn’t talented, but she’s a quieter person, a mediator. An average wand is between 9 to 14 inches, and she’s right in the middle, if not straying towards a shorter length. Not big or flashy, but not too short, because she also has her own strong ideals.
Wand Flexibility: Unyielding
Loyalty is important to Irene, it always has been. Loyalty to her family, to her friends, to her community, to her school house. That’s what makes her such a true Hufflepuff, but it’s also something her wand recognizes. Her wand may not be rigidly decided in its alliance, but it knows its owner and will not change hands easily because of this.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Obnoxiously strong

Describe why this fits your character: In the Summer of 2022, Jorah seriously considered his prospects of becoming a pro-quidditch player. He realized he had some potential, but he would not be able to keep up with his larger upper classmen without training. He dedicated that season to his physical transformation. Jorah need to work on his grip strength to keep him for falling off of his broom. He also needed to work on several muscle groups as well to improve his swinging capacity. The muscle he focused on in particular were the deltoids, infraspinatus, wrist pronators/supinators, lats, and pecs. The first thing Jorah would do in the morning, after whipping the sleep from his eyes, would be to knock out 20 push-ups. He would continue to do push-ups periodically throughout the day with the goal of 100 push-ups each day. Making this a habit was tough. To prevent fatigue or injury the exercises had to be spread throughout the day. Every 3 hours Jorah was doing some sort of exercise. He asked his father to install a pull up bar in the hallway of their home. Jorah forced himself to do chip-ups as a toll payment any time he wanted to across the hall. Outside, he targeted his forearms by swinging a weighted bat. Jorah spent many Summer evenings walking the shoreline of Brighton beach swinging a bat to and fro. His muscles burned from the buildup of lactic acid, but he pushed through the pain. Just keep swinging, just keep swinging, he told himself. Even when taking a break to watch some television, Jorah trained by squeezing a hand gripper device. The strength training was only half the battle. In order to build the muscle, Jorah needed protein, lots and lots of protein. It’s a good thing the boy liked chicken. Jorah’s mother was happy to help her son in grilling large amounts of chicken breasts that he could grab from the fridge when needed. A variety of sauces helped to keep the monotony of chicken at bay. When the chicken wasn’t enough to meet his meat requirements, Jorah turned to whey protein powder for supplementation. For six weeks, Jorah trained hard at home. Upon his return to Hogwarts, some results would start to show. His chest and shoulders would be fuller causing him to move up in a shirt size. His forearms were a little wider. If a student shook his hand, they would be met with a firm grip. To keep his gains, Jorah would continue to train at school. His ravenous appetite now had a purpose. Jorah would continue to devour large meals in the Great Hall, but now he was focusing less on sweats and more on protein. Come breakfast time, the house elves would be hard pressed to prepare enough sausage and eggs for the Ravenclaw table.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Nonverbal
Describe why this fits your character:
Delilah was in the duelling practice room...again. For about the millionth time, she had been trying to do this ever since she heard about it being a thing, however she had never succeeded. The ability to cast a spell without talking? Without giving any ideas to the opposition? They would have to recognise the wand movement, which would be even easier if she used advanced spells that her opponents hadn't learned yet.

Not only would it give her the upper hand in duelling, but Delilah was also almost 17, that meant she could use her magic at home, it would be so much easier to do magic if she wasn't having to speak in latin half the time. She could help her granny at home, maybe she could cure her grannys illness that she was too stubborn to get seen at a hospital because she didn't want to leave the village that had been her home her entire life.

There were so many reasons that funded Dels determination to learn this skill. She felt herself getting closer, who knows if she actually was closer, but as she stood, pointing her wand at the dummy in front of her, sweat lapping off her forehead, not only because of the summer heat beating in the window, but because of the exertion she had been putting on herself lately to learn this skill.

This reminded her of when she was trying to learn the split spell skill, she had eventually gotten it, and it has been a lifesaver in duelling since, it was like dels pre-graduation bucket list. Skills and things she felt she had to learn before she had to leave, and with 6th year creeping up, that was becoming more and more of a concern for her. She didn't want to graduate, she loved hogwarts, but she was also excited to become an adult in the wizarding world. It was crazy how she had went from a tiny little 11 year old who had no idea what she was doing to this young woman, casting spells like no tomorrow, ready to take on the world, anxiety or no anxiety, she had more confidence than she had before that was for sure.

Her method for learning this, although she was unsure as to whether it would work, was to try casting a spell quieter and quieter, until just her thoughts and intentions were enough to keep it going. So far she had gotten it down to about a quarter of her normal volume with the spell still casting just as strongly.

"Flipendo." She almost-whispered, flicking the wand around in the formation that is second nature to her at this point. Flipendo was probably the best spell to practice this on, she had casted it countless times, both in real duels and in practice and private over the last 4 years, ever since she learned it in first year.

It was the spell she was definitely most confident in having cast it many times before. Within roughly an hour she was able to cast Flipendo without audibly saying anything at all. Delilah came close to jumping with excitement, this was such a huge deal to her. Her spellcasting abilities had grown so drastically over the years.

On this day and expanded over others, she did this process on a variety of spells until she could cast essentially any spell she knew nonverbally with relative comfort.

There had been a time when Lindsey was a determined warrior. Wand up, fists out, and that was it, dodging wasn’t even an option, let alone retreating. That was how things should’ve be like. She liked the feeling of fighting, the spirit floating in her veins. It seemed that she just did not care if she’d be hit or not - she could hit others, and that was enough. Wounds could be cured, but spirits could not.

But was it? She had stuck this into her believes until a series of family dramas happened, making Lindsey started to wonder if carelessly rushing forward was the right thing to do. Courage was important, but so was prudence. There had been a time when she was tortured by the thing, the rare uncertainty striking her. And after times and times she’d find herself fainted on the duelling stage, she made up her mind. Dodging and evading were not embarrassing. Instead, they were tactics, important ones especially when facing dangers. The dead had no chance to speak, but the alive ones did. You’ve got to survive to revenge yourself, and that’s it.

She tried to make herself nimbler, instead of having all her attention on how to hit her targets. She would look out to possible dangers, decide what to do beforehand, and try to minimise her injuries. Whenever she casted a spell at her opponents she would watch out for their movements as well, while jumping aside to dodge as promptly as she could. She was trying her best, but she soon learnt that her senses still needed to be sharpened, and movements had to be quickened. There were so many things to learn for a green hand like her.

One. Two. Three. She would scribble possible situations she might get herself in on her notebook, listing out how she would move her steps when the spells came from different directions. Enough theory established, and then she set herself to practise. Often late in the evening she would practice her steps alone in the dormitory, before putting them to actual use in the next day’s duelling practice. A step aside, then a smaller one backwards, and then another quick one towards the right front - she was surprised to find that it did work, she had successfully dodged two Knockback Jinxes in tandem.

Lindsey smiled with pride and flickered her own wand for an attack in return. She knew that she had been way different as she had been in her younger years, and these changes were for good -

After all, it was those who stood to the very end that smiled.

Katherine, Maverick's maternal grandmother, had always been considered weird by her siblings and relatives. She was the eldest child of her parents, with five younger brothers and sisters, and some blamed or at least suspected her weirdness was caused by "stress, born out of the responsibility of being the oldest and out of this difficult era" (to borrow the relatives' words).

Penelope, the second born of the family, enjoyed fights like a typical Veela she was. And Gwendoline, the third, was often considered the most beautiful of the family with her bright skin and golden hair, according to their standard and taste. Both young Veelas were keen on wooing Vodyanoys and men alike, at times went on dates and at other times broke their hearts.

But the only trait Katherine shared with her sisters was a love for music, and it was not even a defining trait of hers; she was best known for her Potions Dream. She might be odd for her relatives, but she was definitely not shy or a coward. So, Katherine would confidently try to befriend passing wizards and witches, asking them to teach her Potions. Her attempts to befriend them succeeded as often as they failed, but she was never deterred. Most of her friends were witches though, for quite a lot of wizards would hope for some romance to happen, but Katherine had no romantic interest in them.

One by one her sisters married Vodyanoys, and then her brothers Veelas. Her parents looked at her with pitiful gaze, the traditional kind who believed that not having a spouse and at least two children was not a life at all.

Until came Anthony Sommers of the United Kingdom.

He and Katherine met through a mutual friend, a Potioneer. Anthony was a very patient wizard, and Katherine found this quality attractive since it balanced her assertive nature and hot temper. Even though she tended to criticise him for "not being able to stand for his rights", the two married after seven years of dating. Katherine's parents' feelings were a mixture: they were glad that their eldest was no longer single, but they were also worried for her marrying a human and not a Vodyanoy.

Katherine and Anthony had three half-Veela children, all of whom were females and, in their adulthood, married to human wizards: Alicia to Muggle-born Francesco Toseland, whereas Samantha and Jean to purebloods Taylor Holt and Darrin Castle, respectively.

Alicia and Samantha each had multiple kids with their husbands, but Jean and Darrin had only one as they did not want too many lifelong responsibilities, in addition to the fear of how multiple children would potentially mess up their careers (even though they had decided to hired a nanny to take care of their kid, either way).

The Castles' only child was a boy, born one fine summer day in mid-August, named Maverick Charles Apollo Castle; his third given name a nod of his mother's ancestral origin in the Eastern European country of Greece. Most everyone in the family called him Mav for short, but Katherine preferred to address her grandson, whom she did not meet often due to the frowns from Darrin's relatives, "Apollo" as it reminded her of her hometown.

Nella's Encyclopedia

Ability Applying For:
Prodigal Potions Learner

Why this fits Nella:
Lisa Morris was the daughter of a pharmacist and a café chef. She always loved the idea that you can take things from a bunch of different ingredients and create concoctions that bring people together or heal them or anything. When she found out that she was a Witch, potions stood out to her as the magical equivalent of the amazing world that her parents had existed in -a blend of her muggle roots and her new magical life. She took that passion all the way through her schooling to end up as a potions mistress at St Mungo’s Hospital to continue her father’s legacy of healing but in a magical way.

So when she had a daughter she taught Nella to love all of these things as well. Nella loved potions from when she was a child, as it was the one part of magic she could do with her mum; and helping her mum prepare or stir the odd cauldron is some of her first memories. Somewhere in a dusty cupboard is still a tiny potions set, sized for children, so that Nella could pretend to brew potions alongside her mum. Lisa has always teased Nella about the hours and hours that she would play with that potion set, even when they tried to encourage her to play with a toy wand or broom.

At her muggle school Nella really enjoyed learning about the muggle sciences too. Chemistry and biology fascinated her, and like Lisa she enjoyed thinking about how muggle science and technology mirrored the magical world they didn’t know existed albeit with more effort and harmful side-effects. As she got older too she was allowed to go and see her mothers workplace, and as long as she didn’t touch anything her mum’s colleagues were more than happy to talk to this young girl who took such a fascination to their work. She absorbed their advice and knowledge like a sponge, and it became a game after a while to put copies of basic formulae in the office on a Friday afternoon (the day she spent at St Mungo’s after school) for Nella to look over and work out – all in the name of preparing her for Hogwarts of course!

Nella loves potion making and idolises her mother. She wants nothing more than to follow in Lisa’s footsteps and become a potions mistress herself. She dreams one day of creating a potion herself to better magic-kind, and using her abilities for healing just like her mother, and in some ways her grandfather. She has read every potion book in the house cover to cover over the years, and was the first textbook she devoured after their family trip to Diagon Alley. Between her desire for knowledge, her desire to be a potions mistress like her mum, and growing up around a potions mistress she definitely would have the access, knowledge, and drive to know and brew potions above her current level.

Grandpa Don sat in his chair, rocking back and forth with a lighted cigarette in hand. He took a puff, before pressing it against the edge of the table and tossing it into the ashtray. Jaime stared up at him from her spot on the floor, waiting to hang on his every word. She loved her grandpa’s stories, they were much more fun than the ones of her Grandma’am. Those stories always had something to do with her becoming a lawyer someday, or some 'fascinating court case". Her grandpa's stories, on the other hand, were always thrilling. A few were even hilarious, but for some reason, this one seemed a bit more serious. With a huff, Grandpa Don cleared his throat and began:

“There is a deeply hidden part of our family tree, one your mother was unaware of, and I never told because I assumed it was poppycock when my own mother told me. Now I am not so sure.” He glanced back at the yard, where my mother sat, reading her book. “Because the story is— Not everyone in our family tree was ‘normal’, or non-magical. No, way back, us Rangers had been a strong wizarding family, known for its seers. This was a long time ago— very far back. But along the line, a squib was born. The squib was named Marina Ranger,” At this, he gestured to a portrait on the wall. Jaime had always assumed it was of Grandma, but perhaps not. “And she was cast out from the family. After that, she married a muggle and had three children. They grew up with no magical abilities, and generations and generations passed before magic was returned to the family in the form of a curious young girl— That’s you Jaime.”

Her eyes widened in realization. Her grandpa had known? But hadn’t told?

With a gulp, she stuttered, “You knew?“

Grandpa Don’s brow creased, “I didn’t believe it. My own mother told me story when I was very young, and even she, I think, thought it was just a fairytale.”

Her eyes blinked rapidly, trying to process all this new information.

“So, um,” she said nervously, eyes unfocused and wide in shock, “Did Grandma’am know?” She bit her lip, her anxiey peaking, “Oh, please tell me you haven’t told Grandma’am.”

Grandpa Don chuckled softly, leaning back in his chair. “Oh, goodness heavens, no.” Before Jaime could say anything, he continued, “She would have mocked me forever for it.”

Jaime scoffed in response, and Grandpa Don raised an eyebrow.

“She would have.” He sighed and lit a new cigarette before saying in a convulsive tone, “Now, go clean your room. It’s a mess.”

Jaime wanted to argue, but she found herself heading to her room anyway. She didn’t clean it, however, for it was already spotless. It always was, thanks to her mother. Jaime lay down on her bed and pondered her discovery. With a jolt, she realized something. If her wizarding ancestors were seers, was she one too?

Jamie's grandfather (and therefore the rest of the family) would not know she is a seer (due to not having any interaction with the wizarding world and Seers, as he is a muggle). Jamie would only know for sure if she was a Seer if both her parents were as well, due to the Seer talent being a recessive gene and Seer abilities not showing when young. Please change this.

perfection. what an interesting word. for amaris, perfection was expected, perfection was encouraged, and most of all, perfection was forced upon her, by herself and her family. amaris' strive for perfection began too early in her life, from ripping out entire pages of homework even though it only bore one single mistake, to almost bursting into tears if she danced the wrong move.

of course, such a dramatic need for perfection is oft frowned upon by more carefree individuals, as it placed pressure on amaris. however, they did not observe that her strive for perfection also encouraged her to do better and constantly push herself. she loved her perfectionist ways, as it meant she could achieve more of her goals with higher quality. what was oft misunderstood as melodrama caused by instances of imperfection were, in truth, amaris' plea to herself to do better.

amaris was one to seem like the perfect child, perfect grades and intelligence, perfect looks and physique, perfect personality and popularity. she was simply born this way, it was in her nature and she accepted it. however, it never truly manifested before she was in her uncle's care.

harold was one to expect perfection. amaris had lacked magical potential at first due to growing up with muggles and being surrounded by muggle culture, causing harold to worry that she would not grow into the niece he wanted. at that time, he did not even know that amaris had already experienced her first instance of magic.

during a particularly difficult lesson with her tutor, amaris and her cousin were asked to write down a passage explaining how hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry was founded. as amaris wrote her piece, not only did she write well on matters of content, she also surprised her tutor with her careful attention to details and how she made sure everything, no matter how small was in order. every word aligned perfectly and margin width almost never changed. every letter looked the same, as if they had been typed instead of written by hand. the piece of parchment was neat and clean, without any ink stains or spills.

amaris kept her work this way -- perfection in carnation. she could not help it. but, nevertheless, she was still proud of such a skill. unlike before, she did rip off an entire piece of paper just because of one mistake. she simply did not make mistakes. of course, this only applies to materials she knows well, as no one in this world is truly perfect.

especially after she was placed under her uncle's care, amaris had became more cautious. she started to take some time before writing down her answer, which contributed to the fact that she made little mistakes. she had lost her naivety, but also her carefree personality. however, her feelings towards this fact is positive, as she believes her rose-tinted glasses were too tinted back then.

her promise to herself was to never fail. this was a promise that she might break, but that promise kept her going. it kept her fighting.

As long as Joseph could remember he could always scale up a tree pretty fast. At school he could always run away from the bullies and when he was younger the teachers. Whether it was to climb up a tree to escape a bully or to steal a cookie from the top shelf of the cabinet. Joseph always felt really nimble. Take this story for example.

Joseph walked outside for recess. Although he was popular among the kids, he was still a loner. Among the kids in his class there were always the jealous ones that wanted popularity and grew jealous of how the attention was always on Joseph. As the years went by bullying became popular at his school. Joseph was always the target. It was as if someone had painted a huge target on his back and wrote 'bully me' below it. At first the bullies tried verbal insults. Joseph just ignored them. Verbal actions quickly turned to physical actions. One of these days one of them came at Joseph with a tree branch and of course the teachers weren't seeing a thing. Joseph ran as fast as he could and when he looked behind him the bully was left in the dust. He scaled up the nearest tree and sat on a tough-looking tree branch.
"Well, I guess now that I'm up a tree you can't get me." Joseph taunted him.
It turned out to be a bad idea. In anger the bully picked up a small rock and hurled it at Joseph. He scrambled up and dodged the rock thrown at him by moving along the tree branch. Now normally if you on a thin weak tree branch it will break right? but it didn't Joseph moved gracefully along the tree branch and hid himself behind the thick tree trunk. That's where he stayed for the rest of recess. When the bell rang Joseph peeked around the side of the tree trunk and saw that the bully was still there. It looked like he had no intention of going back to class. Joseph planned to go quietly down the tree and run as fast he could to where the teachers were doing rollcall. Joseph cautiously put his foot on the branch below and softly touched the ground. He then ran as fast as he could, and Joseph didn't dare to look behind. There it was again he felt so graceful and when Joseph ran into the crowd of children, he saw the bully miles behind. Joseph went back to class. He just couldn't resist sarcastically waving his hand at the bully.

There seems to be a misunderstanding of this ability. Evasive maneuvers does not give you super powers to run very fast. It simply gives you the ability to dodge or move out of the way of incoming attacks. The only part of this application in reference to this ability is one sentence. Please fix this.
