Magnus had what he considered a rough childhood. Magnus grew up in a bilingual household due to his father being French and his mother being Russian so he managed to learn both French and Russian from them. His mother was the matriarch of their household and lead with what Magnus considered an iron fist. His father Axel Blackwood worked as a Magizoologist while his mother Astrid Blackwood stayed at home and kept the family inline.

Thanks to his father being a Magizoologist he grew up getting to see a lot of different animals his favorite being the Niffler. This brought him and his father closer though with his mother it was a different story as she was controlling pushing him to be this perfect image of herself as she thinks turning him into her will be beneficial for their family, she even made him wear contacts as she didn’t want anyone to see his disgusting red eyes. This made Magnus resent his mother as he hates her trying to push her ideas onto him this is where he gets all of frustration and anger from and why he acts the way he does. His only comfort growing up was his house elf Pinky.

Pinky was more than a house elf or caretaker to Magnus she was his first best friend. They were inseparable, Pinky would read stories to him and tell about great adventures of explorers finding treasures undiscovered yet or even spooky stories. This is where Magnus love of reading and the supernatural comes from as well as other things. That’s why it made it even harder when he had to leave her behind and go to Durmstrang, now granted Magnus adored going to Drumstrang a whole lot but he loved Pinky more so he promised he’d write to her and his father everyday if he had too and maybe his mother if he felt like it.

Image posted by the member This lead to Magnus hating his mother guts and it hurt her to her core, except her heart was so harden to the point of no return she could not find it in herself to ask for forgiveness. So this lead to them drifting apart and butting heads with each other constantly making their manor from a loving place for a family to dwell in into a place of constant screaming and Magnus wishing his father wasn’t away working. The only peace he had in that hell hole was a few people, his house elves Pinky, Blinky, Inky and Clyde. Image posted by the member AXEL AND ASTRID BLACKWOOD Are the worse parents ever at last in Magnus’ eyes though more his mother than his father. His father Axel is a Magizoologist who loves his job as well as his family dearly, when Magnus was younger he would bring home many magical animals for Magnus to help take care of before they were released into there natural habitats. Magnus mother however was a whole different monster. Astrid believed in many things but her main goal was dominance and control over her family and her life mostly Magnus life in particular. She knew what it was like to be bullied or hated for being what she was even though she couldn’t help it, something in her went cold after all of that hostility towards her to where she vowed she would never let her son go through that ever. She turned cold and in her own sick and twisted way she thought if she treated Magnus horribly while also being strict on him it would make him tougher and more ready for the outside world. Though she was extremely wrong. Sure it made Magnus tough but it also took away something a child should never lose, his emotions. In the process of her twisted methods she made him lose all feeling for others and himself to where all that was left was pain, sadness and most of all RAGE.

ROMANOV FAMILY The Romanov’s are Magnus pureblood cousins related on his father side as his father Axel is the brother to Natalia Romanov who married Buchanan Barsukov who took the Romanov last name. Together they had two amazing kids, a twelve year old boy named Aleksander, and a six year old girl by the name of Polina. Magnus has never meet them before at least not yet due to them being very busy with their political career in the wizarding community. They are a very close knit family and isn’t as extreme as Magnus mother is.

Magnus mother views them as a disgrace to the wizarding world due to them not sharing her same views or opinions, especially on parenting so Astrid did anything she could in her power to make sure they never met Magnus ever which just makes Magnus feels more alone than ever. But ultimately the Romanov’s are a safe space for Magnus when he needs someone who understands what’s he’s going through with his mother.

Magnus see Vasilius as someone who is a stuck up bratty rich boy who is selfish and only cares for himself and annoyed the shit our of him, is what he would have said when they first met but now his answer was different. Vasilius is someone Magnus has grown close too, he has become someone who for some weird reason makes Magnus gets this weird feeling when he isn’t near that all times. Magnus cares deeply about him yet he would never admit that out loud ever but he feels he can’t live without him and would do whatever it takes to keep him.

ARNO DORIAN ── COMPLICATED
Arno is someone Magnus admires but also spites at the same time, he someone who Magnus could see being highly intelligent and someone he would respect but with that notion he also has mixed feelings about Arno as Magnus thinks he’s way too cocky and too much of a show off who needs to be taken down a few pegs. It makes Magnus feel weird as he would like to possibly friend him but he can’t sallow his pride and admit that.

Jarden at least to Magnus is this sweet and innocent kid that somehow got mixed up with Magnus and this group of angsty Durmstrang students who brings a lot of sunlight to the group and Magnus admires that. He won’t admit to anyone but he appreciates Jarden a lot as well as the group and wants to keep them around his as long as he can as well as the rest of the group.

Viktoriya is someone Magnus can describe in many words, fierce, a warrior and very wise but with that comes some other emotions. He has a strong distaste for her as well as her actions while also respecting her. He feels a mix of annoyance and anger with her that no one else can rise out of him but underneath that anger there is respect for her and how strong willed she is which Magnus admires a lot and leads him to follow her around in an attempts to achieve strength like her which some would call this behavior having a puppy follow behind you.

NOEL CLAVERO ── BEST FRIEND
Noel is someone who Magnus can say without a doubt is his best friend and most trusted confidant, Magnus has grown to enjoy Noel presence and especially enjoys when he comes to visit him at the Blackwood estate. He dosent tell Noel everything because he’s forced to but because he genuinely trust he would know what to do and wouldn’t tell others without permission of course as well as due to them being bonded with the binding mark he feels extremely close to him. Magnus honestly don’t know how he would be without Noel and he wants to learn how to thank him for that one day. He also enjoys Noel due to him not judging him for his violent ways but instead tolerating them and he likes that the most.

After there rough hockey match, Magnus is challenged by Arno to take part in a duel where Magnus pride gets the best of him as Arno quickly humbles him which may lead to a monster being born.

During an uneventful night in the yurt where Magnus can not sleep he notices the Vasilius is missing from the yurt, as he goes outside and finds him smoking secrets are shared and Magnus possible starts to learn how to care for others more.
