You would think after being Knocked out in a hockey match someone wouldn’t be able to stand or walk for at least another day right ? Well not Magnus he prided himself on being as strong as a brick wall, the only issue was everyone saw that he wasn’t as strong as he claimed to be and that pissed him off the most. He just couldn’t fathom what had happened, one minute he was on top of the world having a blast as even though their team had lost the hockey match he managed to knock Arno out. The next he was knocked out on the ice thanks to that stupid brown girl of whatever her last name was and worst of all was his team had gotten bronze. He was honestly starting to hate this event the more his mind dwelled on it, he especially hated Arno smug little face too.

Sure Arno Dorian was well known around Durmstrang by many students as to where Magnus heard about him on many occasions and from the stories he heard about him he sounded like someone who was strong, a guy Magnus could admire with the many stories he heard about him but he guessed that’s why there was the saying don’t meet your hero’s as they’ll just disappoint you and Magnus was beyond disappointed. Magnus thought when he met Arno he would get to actually have a chat with him but instead it seemed like he did not care on but about what Magnus had to offer nor say! It enraged him as how can someone many people speak highly of be such a let down.

The worse thing about it all was that Magnus still felt a part of him wanting to gain the approve of Arno and prove he could still be useful.

This whole ordeal was just ultimately setting him off more, he pushed passed people as for some reason they kept bumping into him like they didn’t see him which was honestly just stupid and he was sure some of them knew that too. He could feel his blood begin to boil which made him stop for a second to allow himself a simple moment to gather himself. He was in public and the last thing he wanted to happen would be his crimson red eyes bleeding though his contacts revealing what he was. He was still not used to being a dhampir or telling anyone besides the select few he told so he had to make sure he didn’t slip up.

Just as he had gotten himself composed a girl who seemed to be walking around aimlessly with another person trying to lead them away from him yet it didn’t work, she bumped into him stepping onto the point of his expensive shoes. That was the fine straw that would break the camel back or rather the final straw that would unleash the monster as Magnus grabbed the girls collar making the person leading her fall as well and looked at her before yelling at her. “Hey! Just who do you think you are stepping on my shoes are you blind or some shit that you act like you can’t see me right here!” You could hear the fiery and passion in his voice as he held the girl collar, his eyes just for a split second flashed from its light blue color to a crimson red which seemed to get darker along with the angrier Magnus got.

Getting shoulder checked by a smaller, angrier boulder was not something that Siobhan had planned for when she stepped off the ice after the most invigorating match. Despite her eyeight, she had been able to keep up with the rest of her hastily put together team and they had nearly won! She was so proud of herself for putting herself out there and attempting to try and replay a sport she was once very good at.

Siobhan loved to skate. When the ice fell across the Lough Leanne in Killarney, the McCarty clan would find their way to the shore front and set up a family hockey game themselves. It was always in good fun and something that Siobhan treasured in the warmest parts of her memories. Being able to play on the ice with new friends and even those she knew was magical.

But now her shoulder hurt, both she and her friend had fallen down and was worried about her, herself and there was a spitting voice attempting to get in her face as her shirt collar was yanked upwards. She yelped slightly as the gruff and angry pre-teen crackle admonished her for his mistake. Siobhan tensed up as he demanded to know whether she was "Blind or some shit?!" which had her brow creasing in a deep furrow that she'd never truly felt it get too.

Blind?

Blind???

YES she was but that was besides the point! This angry little toad in front of her was about one more comment away from getting whacked upside the head. Normally, Siobhan did not resort to violence of any nature. It was against her hippie-agenda which most of the school had come to know and love for better or worse. However, in the recesses of her mind she supposed that logic was fighting adrenaline, having just come off a defeat in Hockey and the assumption that because she was blind it was the reason they lost.

Lots of emotions where swirling through her head lately and she wasn't doing well to keep them all bottled up and in check.

"You bumped into me. If anything you're the one without your sight. Don't mock what you are blessed to have." Siobhan huffed as she pushed the kid off of her collar and straightened her shirt back. The absolute audacity that this boy had to push her down and then to try and blame her for the entire incident? Oh he had truly struck a nerve with Siobhan. She stood up to her full height which she could hazily see was slightly towering over him. There wasn't much of a difference between their heights but she was definitely the taller of the two. Something about the boy had Siobhan glowering as she stared him down with all the frustration that she could muster into the front of her unseeing eyes. It wasn't much and she likely looked like a disgruntled kitten.

Though as with all cats, they had claws. Being a Lion, Siobhan knew that the metaphorical ones her house possessed could likely come out if she didn't find a way to diffuse the situation she was currently in.

Magnus face began to heat up from embarrassment, who did this girl think she was pushing him like that, and what was that bullshit she was talking about “don’t mock what you are blessed to have.” Like what did she mean she wasn’t actually some blind witch or…was she ? The more he thought about it the more it seemed to make sense. But it truly wasn’t adding up to Magnus, why would a blind witch be walking around alone as well as un attended to. Magnus kinda felt bad for her. Not because she was blind as he wasn’t an idiot but because Magnus probably wasn’t helping her situation at all especially due to the fact she seemed like she did not go to Koldovstoretz so she was likely still getting to map out the land and get a feel for it. Just when Magnus wanted to apologize to her it was like something had taken a hold of him, making him unable to say the simplest words known to man, I’m sorry. Magnus began to hear his mother’s voice in his head as his mind was frozen with many thoughts. “Pathetic absolutely pathetic..you’re suppose to be strong yet you want to apologize to some measly blind girl. No wonder you’re a mistake you’ll never be strong.” No, she was wrong he was strong he had to be strong. If Magnus wasn’t strong he would never protect the ones he love and most importantly he would never be able to stand up to his mother.

Magnus suddenly felt like he was a little kid again reliving the past of one of the lessons his mother taught him from a young age. Magnus always had a soft spot for animals and sea creatures and insects, he assumed he got it from his father as he had many photos of himself being young and wild with the magical creatures his father would bring home and care for before releasing them back into the wild. He was playing with some bugs he found outside and had brought them in the house to show his father as he thought they looked interesting. But before he could pick them up off the floor and bring them to his father he heard the foot steps of his mother’s graceful high heels clicking as she walked down the steps of their manor. Suddenly she shrieked as she noticed the bugs moving around and crawling on the floor. As Magnus reached forward to grab them she step down on the bugs crushing them right in front of Magnus as he gasped as he watched the horror happening near him.

His mother had crushed the bugs he considered his friends underneath her heel before turning to glare at Magnus. “How dare you bring these..these disgusting and nasty creatures into my house! You are absolutely filthy go wash up at once I don’t want to see you looking disgusting in my sights!” She yelled out as she looked unpleasant like she might have fainted just from the mere thought of the bugs she had killed. Magnus on the other hand was in such distraught how could she just exterminate his friends without any care for how Magnus felt. He glared at his mother before yelling as tears swelled in his eyes. “How could you! They were my friends how could you kill them!” As Magnus little tantrum went on Astrid mood went from a subtle calm anger to one of a raging storm as if she was ready to kill someone. “Are you crying! My god how pathetic pull yourself together at once! No child of mine will be crying over some useless bugs” As she yelled she slammed her foot down making Magnus flinch for a second at the loud noise.

He suddenly felt..scared for a split second as he never enjoyed making his mother angry as she started to yell at him harsher than she already was. He looked down at his feet as he stood up mumbling to his mother. “Sorry..” It appeared she didn’t like this either as she began to lecture him suddenly. “My god do not say sorry, you are a boy aren’t you! Boys don’t cry over silly little disgusting bugs. Nor do they cry about them either! They hold their emotions inside of them and take it out through fighting and roughing each other up! Right now you’re acting like a sissy now I want you out of my sights at once, get lost!” As she yell Magnus just slowly walked away as those words echoed in his mind. Boys don’t cry, boys don’t say sorry. They take their anger out through fighting. Magnus had went the whole rest of his life believing this, so the fact that now he wanted to apologize to this blind girl had Magnus body physically feel repulsed by it as his mind was trained physically trained by now to never apologize or show other emotions that would make him be seen not as a strong tough boy but a sissy.

His eyes changed, gone was the remorse and sadness he felt for this blind girl and all that we left was anger, anger for the fact that he felt sorry for her and wanted to apologize, anger for the fact he was tempted by his emotions and weakness. And anger at the fact that he was losing control of who he was. Before this trip Magnus was in control of his image to the public. Rather that be kids at Durmstrang or other schools he would be seen as strong because that what he was, what he had to be a strong boy. But now after that Hockey match and then his duel with Arno, Magnus felt as if he was losing his touch and control over who he was as now people was seeing that he wasn’t as strong as he was suppose to be and that was never a good sign as he hated that. “Oh shut up! You don’t know me nor will you ever know me so shut your pathetic little mouth!”

When the silence stretched on for a moment, Siobhan thought that perhaps that they had simply moved on and accepted that they had bumped into her and it had simply been an accident. It wasn't until she tried to move on herself that the next round of words had flown from the boys mouth.

"So shut your pathetic little mouth!"

The chill that shot down Siobhan's spine as she heard that was colder than any snow that she could have stumbled into. More frigid than any lake that she could have fallen through on the ice. Pathetic? Was that what she was because she had said something? Because she'd spoken up for herself?

Wht else had come out of her pathetic mouth in front of others? Was it something that made those haunting words of 'You wish you had even half my confidence, we both know you could certainly use it' echo louder in her head? She couldn't hear the sounds of the crisp Siberian air anymore, it had been replaced by the sound of a ringing bell. The more she thought, the louder the words echoed, the more persistent the bell grew. Siobhan didn't register the next couple second but when she finally realized that her knuckles where stinging, and there was a faint sound of groaning in front of her she gasped in shock over what she had done.

She felt something drip off her fist which was clenched up almost too tightly. She lifted it too examine the now broken skin which likely was dyeing the snow the color of garnets. A pale look crossed her already pale complexion.

She'd hit this kid.

"I- I'm... I didn't- I'm so sorry-" Siobhan started as she nursed her hand close to her chest and collarpad from the hockey game. It throbbed under her hold but she didn't dare let it dangle towards the ground. If she wanted to stop the bleeding before it got bad, leveling it up against her heart would help.

This was not the first kid Siobhan had hit. There had been one other unfortunate incident in her first year of school where she'd socked a poor fellow named Uri Davies, after he'd spooked her with an unfortunate mask at their very first ball. In the instant that it occurred, she had run to heal him as best she could. Now, she couldn't fathom why she wasn't darting off to do the same for the kid in front of her. She could have broken his nose, or busted his lip but instead of the instinct to help and heal what she had caused, there wasn't any energy firing across her body

Maybe it was her pride. Maybe it was teenage angst. Maybe it was guilt because she literally couldn't see the consequences of her actions. Siobhan knew that her punches hurt. Farm life had toughened her muscles, and taut the strings between them to the snap of a rubberband. It was something she had always been obsessively insecure about when she added her height and stature into the mix. It was like she was a ragdoll of strange proportions, compensating for her weirdness by being a mess. Everything about her seemed like it was against her.

Siobhan's feet still stood frozen along the ground. The need to flee was growing but she couldn't will her body to move. The heavy weight of her own strength was working against her now and steeling her for the possibility of a retaliation that was sure to come. At this point, she was certain that her disability did not mean she was exempt from being subjected to the other side of a fight. But if she didn't move now then she was going to be in the way of potentially something harmful coming her way if this kid decided that actions would speak louder than words.

Her back foot moved slightly slipping against the slush. The longer she stood here the colder her feet became as the snow soaked through her boots. If she could move now, would it be best to run or just move? What was the right course of action?

Magnus whole entire body recoiled as he himself heard a loud snap before his body fell into the cold Siberian snow. He just looked up at the girl in front of him as blood began to drip down his nose. It was intoxicating as he couldn’t believe what just happened, whatever he just said must have affected her badly as he wasn’t expecting to find himself punched into his nose. His hand slightly trembling slowly reached up and held his nose before moving away as he felt a slight stinging, she completely broke his nose which Magnus never thought would be possible she was blind so she couldn’t even see what she punched so it’s not like he could fault her but it made him pause as he slowly thought to himself. Was mother right…? Am I truly…weak and pathetic The more he thought about it the more it made sense as he just got his nose broken by a blind girl someone who couldn’t even see where she was going or was looking at half the time so it was almost like a wake up call that he needed to be stronger as if he wasn’t what else did he have in life…

He let out another loud yell as his nose started to bleed faster as he just looked down at the blood dripping onto the white snow painting it a scarlet color as he just watched it. “Ah!..Fuck that hurts” He just looked up at this girl before trying to make himself stand up as he slowly made his way up before looking over at this girl, he was feeling an enormous amount of pain which he didn’t mind as at least he was feeling something but he truly didn’t like how it felt so he opted to try and make a joke but it wasn’t really working. “Damn for someone whose blind you sure got a punch on you..you sure you’re blind ha ha ?”

Magnus knew this girl was blind he could tell from the way her body froze with what look like a shock of someone who didn’t realize what they had done. Magnus almost felt bad for this girl, if it wasn’t for the fact he felt so much pain right now and being unable to apologize to her as if something inside of him felt absolutely repulsed by the fact that him attempting to apologize to this poor sickly blind girl was what made him weak in the first place.

All of this lead back to his mother and her views on Magnus, she viewed Magnus as someone who was pathetic and absolutely weak, like a rose bush she wanted to prune Magnus of all the thorns inside of him which she views as anything that made him, himself and replace them with lovely flowers that were seeded by her creativity and ideals because that’s what she stood for and she wasn’t going to stop till she had what she wanted.

Magnus just stood their frozen his body slightly shaking still from the impact as he tried to focus himself but from the broken nose and dripping blood his body felt like it was about to lose consciousness, he quickly stumbled his way towards a wall before propping himself up and just staring at the girl. His eyes felt blurry as he just mumbled to himself. “What..what are you looking at ?”

The ringing in her ears dissipated when the boy in front of her asked her what it was she was looking at in that mumbled way people did when they were both embarrassed with themselves and angry with the people around them. If you were observing t he situation as a bystander, you would notice that Siobhan's gaze was about seventeen degrees off center of this kid's face so technically, she wasn't looking at anything. Perhaps one of the yurts in the distance if you wanted to break into semantics. But digressing back to the matter at hand.

Siobhan was a little put off by the amount of complaining that this kid was capable of exhibiting. Asking her whether or not she was actually blind gave her cause for her face to twist into something more annoyed. Of course she was blind. Was it not obvious to almost everyone else? She had already been ridiculed enough on the ice (even though her team had done quite well to hold their own for four people who had never met each other) and there had been enough pity from her classmates, peers, and even some teachers back at Hogwarts. Heck even her own family had members of its clan that didn't believe that she was capable of so much as putting her socks on without help any more. Yes. She was blind, not helpless.

And she certainly wasn't deaf to their commentary.

"Cre ta lhiat? Can you not see I actually am blind? And it's not something I can just turn off an on, dooyrtoo? You don't know how hard it is and I already said I'm sorry for hitting you. Maybe don't be such a buggane! I mean-" Siobhan faltered slightly between the spitting rant she had started as her native tongue began to slip through her English filter, with more and more threatening to spill out, "A jerk! Don't be a jerk to someone you don't know!"

Siobhan wasn't one to act violent just because. Sure, she'd wrestled with her sisters over desserts, clothes, and hair ribbons, and her brothers liked to dunk her in the lake during the summer. Perhaps once or twice she had taken a playful kick or so at Prat because he was acting like the embodiment of his name, but never had she purposely been so angry with someone that she would consider genuinely breaking out into fisticuffs with. This kid in front of her (17 degrees off center) really was making an attempt to push all her buttons and if he wanted a fight, he was very close to getting one.

"You should go get your nose looked at. I can fix it but I don't think it's actually broken..." Siobhan sniffed as she crossed her arms. Under her breath but likely not as quiet as she meant for it to come out she let slip an additionally soft "...drama king..."
