Hufflepuff's Broom Racing Co-Captain
Congratulations to Miss @Matilde O’Fionnagan, who, with a passing grade, has moved on to become our house's not-so-new addition to the sports team. The once broom racer has reached for the skies, aiming for the new role with success. We hope the racing season treats Miss O’Fionnagan well as they work alongside Miss Avery McCall.

HogNaNo and Other ErrandsWe are allowing many different roleplays to be included in the HogNaNo challenge (pretty much anything written from 1st Nov - 30th Nov). However, please note that we will not count other errand posts in this - as you're already being rewarded for those. Please do not "double dip" and try to claim rewards in both, as they will be disqualified and you may have fewer words than you realise.
We also do not allow OOC posts (including applications, such as ability applications).

❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️Headmaster Maynard of Tenūsa and Director Vorozheykin of Koldovstoretz are proud to present two international events during winter 2025-2026:
🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳
Starting off the new year, Tenūsa will be hosting one and all to come and spend a weekend on the Isle of Divination, from the 3rd-5th of January. This event is being paraded as a welcome day to inspire new prospective students and deliver the promise of international cooperation in which the schools have united. It is a chance to explore the rather unknown culture of this mysterious part of the wizarding world and a mark of the new era Grand Seer Maynard is aiming to bring forth. There will be multiple opportunities for adventure, such as:Find the full calendar, explanation, and list of threads for the Tenūsa Open Day here.
- Signing up for one of our homesteads with friends
- Being part of a new wizarding world mystery
- Exploring the wide array of culture Tenūsa has to offer and sharing some of your own!
- Escaping the winter cold by living it up in the tropics of the Isle, where water sports may be on the horizon
❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️
Then, from February 15 to February 22, the International Magical Olympic Games (IMOG) will be held at Koldovstoretz! Get ready to compete in head-to-head, school-on-school sports competitions to prove once and for all which school is best. Students will be able to enjoy various ceremonies, sports, and manners of rest and relaxation, including:Find the full calendar and list of threads for the Koldovstoretz-hosted International Magical Olympic Games here.
- Signing up for an enchanted yurt with friends
- Competing in figure skating, ice hockey, summoner's curling, or bobsledding
- Eating delicacies at the opening ceremony, or seeing who wins at the closing ceremony
- Staving off the cold in Koldovstoretz's famous banyas (saunas)
🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳❄️🌳FAQWhen do these events occur OOC?
The Tenūsa event will take place OOC in December/January, and the Koldovstoretz event will take place in February and early March. They will not overlap OOC or IC so as not to overwhelm players.
How does my character get to Tenūsa/Koldovstoretz?
The heads of various schools have arranged groups of Portkeys to take students to the two schools on the assigned dates. You may not state that your character arrived at either school via a different manner.
How does school work while we are there?
Luckily, both Tenūsa and Koldovstoretz are institutions of education! At Koldovstoretz, there are classrooms aplenty for students to continue their coursework during the week they will be visiting. But for Tenūsa, at least, there's no need to worry as this event takes place during winter break!
Are iNPCs welcome?
Characters from EVERY school are welcome -- iNPCs and PCs alike.
Where will my character be staying at Tenūsa/Koldovstoretz?
At Tenūsa, students will be able to sign up to reside in one of the three homesteads one would find in Omah Geni, the main village along with whoever they deem to be a part of their community. At Koldovstoretz, students will be able to sign up to reside in an enchanted yurt with their friends. Please consult the respective threads (linked above in the description section) for more information on how to sign up for these residences.
My character is an adult but I want to attend the event.
For the Tenūsa event, all characters - adult and student - are welcome; in fact, even your dNPC's are allowed to attend, but they will not be permitted for moderated events. For the Koldovstoretz event, graduated adult characters may not attend as it is for schoolchildren and faculty only.
Can I organize a mini student-run event during one of the days of either event?
For the Tenūsa event, you may contact Lawrence Maynard if you want to make an event, as the first and last days are the only ones that can be freely roleplayed to keep in line with the moderated event that will occur on the second day. For the Koldovstoretz event, feel free! Simply make sure you consult the calendar and do not accidentally RP your character as being in two places at once. Also, any student-run sport events will not count towards the official medal count of the Olympic Games.
Can I RP at my character's normal school during the dates of either event?
If you are attending either event as an international student (e.g. you are not a Tenūsa student at the Tenūsa event or not a Koldovstoretz student at the Koldovstoretz event), please do not RP as your character being at their normal school during the dates of the event(s) you are attending. Your character cannot be in two places at once. It is up to you to realistically only RP as your character being in that one place.

Changes have been made to the Prison System
The prison system, while unused, was originally created in 2022. We have moved the Prison System thread to the Staff Requests Forum and we have made edits to the system as shown below.
These system changes are available to users immediately.
Happy Roleplaying!
Prison System
You have done something so heinous wizarding society had to lock you away. Perhaps only for a few weeks or months or perhaps forever. Violent criminals and dark wizards will likely never see the light of day again once they are incarcerated.
These incarcerated individuals are sent to Azkaban. Incarcerated individuals are limited to Azkaban for all of their in-character interactions from the moment they are IC caught. This plotline needs to be applied for in this thread so a sentence period can be decided. On approval, the user's title will read "Azkban Prisoner," which will indicate they can no longer make threads outside of Azkaban (they can still backdate their interactions, but they cannot forward date to a time after their release). This is done via a shift in permissions for your character so you cannot backdate threads to a time before your incarceration or play as an NPC as a means of circumventing this restriction. The user would maintain access to OC areas such as "A1 the Counter". In Azkaban, they can post in by themselves, with faceless NPCs or on rare occasion with a visitor. Visitation is heavily restricted but on occasion Aurors for instance have been known to meet with prisoners as part of their role.
Note: The prison would not allow a group of school children to visit their prisoners.
The only way out of Azkaban is to complete your sentence, be proved innocent or escape.
Sentence Served - for lesser crimes like assault, forgery, corruption, etc. the time duration would be limited and once that time has passed, the player is free to return to society. You would work with staff to determine your sentence length when you apply for the system. We have an internal guide on different crimes and different time served, with the minimum being 3 months (eg illegal trade of restricted potions ingredients) and the maximum being life (eg mass murder). We will work with you to determine an appropriate time for the crime.
Innocence Proven - for users who wish to roleplay a wrongful imprisonment plot. your character will have a sentence based on the crime they have been found guilty of, but at any point you can write a 500 word roleplay of their innocence being proven. This must be a plot point from the beginning, you cannot apply saying your character is guilty, then change your mind later.
Escape - best used with players that are not going to be leaving prison any time soon or are there 'for life' such as murder, being a dark wizard, casting an unforgivable, turning others into werewolves or blood thralls.
To apply for this system, please fill out the form below and post it here. Your application will be reviewed within two weeks, if you are still waiting after that time, please contact an admin (one of the Heads of House, or the Headmaster).
Escape FAQCode: Select all
Name: Encyclopedia Link: Crime(s): How were they caught: Is the character innocent or guilty: Proposed sentence: (staff may suggest a different time span depending on the crime and context) Thread(s) relevant to the crime: Any additional context?
ReducioHow does one 'Escape'?
Once a month a player can be given a series of rolls where they attempt to escape. These are stats checks. It is never easy to escape from Azkaban. The escapee has to write 500 words of them attempting to escape, then a mod will roll in our roll channel if they successfully escape. This is based on their abilities and stats.
If unsuccessful, they will be notified of their failure. On success, they will have their accesses changed so they can post outside of Hogwarts. their title will change to "Azkaban Escapee" and they can once again post outside of Azkaban for current threads. They are a wanted criminal and if they are caught, they will likely be sent back to Azkaban. The chances of escape are likely to diminish with recurrent escapes.
What can I do once I've escaped?
You are once again able to post in IC current time in other forums. You are an escapee, a wanted fugitive, and as such you cannot resume your normal life. Much like our detention system, going out in public spaces undisguised or flaunting your identity makes your character more likely to get caught. On the other hand, writing a PV or solo of being in hiding is more unlikely to get you caught. Staff can make rolls on the Discord to catch your character using NPCs or even inviting adult PCs in the sentinel area of the Adult System jobs.
If you are caught in this way and sent back to Azkaban, staff will once again work with you to determine how much time is added to your sentence. RP opportunities can influence this, such as if your character turns themself in after the escape vs if they get caught committing another crime.
We may be implementing a more in-depth heat system in the future, to represent the likelihood of getting caught and more in-depth RP opportunities.
Can someone help me escape?
Yes, they can provide stat boosts (detailed in next question), but if it is a failure, they join you in Azkaban.
What do the escape rolls look like?
DC 30 and three randomly determined stats. For example, DC 30 strength so a player's strength (15) + 1d20 roll. They are a part giant so they gain a buff to their strength that will also be considered. This might be explained as having to pry the bars from your window for example. Then the next stat might be evasion. DC 30 evasion, so a player's evasion (10) + 1d20 roll. They have some auto-dodge built into their character, so their auto-dodge will also be rolled. This might be represented by some of the aurors noticing your escape and attempting to blast you with a spell that you need to evade otherwise you would be subdued. Then the final roll ends up being a wisdom roll. DC 30 wisdom, so a player's wisdom (5) + 1d20 roll. They are dumber than bricks so they would not escape even with a perfect roll here so they remain in prison. There might be a complicated door opening mechanism that perhaps confused them greatly for example.
If someone assists you in escaping, as *up to 1 person can 'help'* half of their stats would be added onto yours in the escape attempt. They have to write an escape scenario with you, so their own 500 words. If they are caught however, they are in Azkaban as well and will have to wait at least a month before they can attempt to escape. A major factor to consider is how did they get to you? We do not allow visitors to casually visit criminals in Azkaban. It is likely you had to sneak onto the island and sneak into the complex and find them. You would need to consider that as part of the escape scenario.
What are the possible stat checks?A d10 is rolled thrice, the same stat may come up more than once. The user then has their escape attempt rolled. Again, if successful, they escape. If not, they remain in Azkaban.
- Strength: this is a pure strength DC, anything that directly modifies strength will modify this effect.
- Accuracy: this is a pure accuracy DC, anything that directly modifies accuracy will modify this effect.
- Evasion: this is a pure evasion DC, anything that directly modifies evasion will modify this effect.
- Wisdom: this can be modified by effects that increase their observation capacity (such as Keen Eye)
- Arcane Power: this can be modified by anything that increases the damage of spells (this will likely be roleplayed as you overcoming a magical effect of this setting).
- Stamina: this is a pure stamina DC, anything that modifies overall health or stamina will modify this effect.
- Stealth: this is a combination of wisdom and evasion (average of the raw stats) and is not effected by skills that increase those raw stats, however it is effected by anything that increases the users ability to hide.
- Poison Resistance: this is a combination of strength and stamina (average of raw stats) and is not effected by skills that increase those raw stats, however is effected by anything that increases the user's ability to resist potions/poisons.
- Luck: yes, "dumb luck" this is a D10 with a critical success (10) being a success. Anything that increases the critical range of the user would also increase the range of success here.
- Trickery: this is a combination of accuracy and arcane power (average of raw stats) and is not effected by skills that increase those raw stats. However you gain a +2 to this if you are an animagus, +1 as a charmer or calming presence.
Can I save up my rolls over a several month period and do them all at once?
No.
There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.
