Welcome to your guide to the Tenūsa Open Day Event! Here you will find all the information you could need for the upcoming Tenūsa event as well as all the links to threads as they drop!Tenūsa Open Day January 3rd - January 5th
Lawrence Maynard warmly invites you to the shores of the Isle of Divination. An extremely well protected magical community that have never opened their doors to the wider wizarding world is making history by not only welcoming their fellow international wizards, but for the first time in its ancient history, allowing non-magic relatives a chance to walk the Isle. This momentous occasion will serve as a platform for the new Grand Seer Maynard to promote the schools rich and diverse culture and share it with the world.
If you have any questions about anything you find here in the guide or want to double check any information please don't hesitate to get in touch with Lawrence Maynard by owl.
TimelineAll students will arrive by portkey on the first day of this event. These portkeys have been handcrafted by Grand Seer Maynard and sent out to various worldly wizarding communities, schools and ministries.Day 1:
Once you have arrived you are free to begin exploring the island and will be welcomed with an opening festival and feast. Students will have the opportunity to participate in an errand named The Heritage Project. This errand will allow players from across the wizarding world to share a part of their heritage, be it on stage with song, dance or prose or by contributing to the global potluck table. Share what makes your characters history rich and special to them.
The rest of the evening will be comprised of a non-moderated mass thread that will have rpg prompts dropped each week to detail how the evening progresses and give writers an opportunity to explore new stories.
Due to this first day falling on a full moon, our werewolf students and adults will be permitted to spend the night on Pulau Siluman Macan for their own CYOA. Please note: You may only contribute to this thread if you are registered and approved as a werewolf. On the second day players will awake to a strange phenomenon having occurred over night. The exact details of this moderated event are still to be foretold by the great Seers of the wizarding world but all who wish to get involved and discover some of the secrets of the Isle are sure for a treat.Day 2:
Following on from the trials and tribulations of their adventurous morning, all visitors to the island will be lead to Lumba-Lumba by wonderful former Tenūsa alumni @Desislava Nenovsky. The evening will have you dreamily sleeping amongst the stars and playing in the crystal waters of the Celebes sea. With some more rpg prompts each week and plenty to explore students are welcome to make the most of their short time on the Isle. For our third and final day we will be demo-ing a unique new system to H.io that is sure to be a little bit janky but a lot of fun. Chip off your barnacles and take to the waves as you compete in our custom surfing competition. With rules modified from other rpg systems and some help from the broom racing champs.Day 3:
If sport is not your forte or the waves of Tenūsa seem too treacherous, then take the time to explore more of the islands vast setting. Fly up to the mountain city of Elang Jawa where our students train for quidditch and broom racing; explore the hidden wonders of Macan Tutul and search for the rare rafflesia flower, or swim in a waterfall; lose yourself in the endless tides of the island foraging for keepsakes and a token of your time here; or shop in the floating markets of Nephila Pilipes. With so much to do you are sure to create some unique and magical adventure.
Then when it is time to leave collect a shell portkey from Grand Seer Maynard and be sent off on your way, but not before writing a note to someone that they have met during this experience or a thing they are proud of having achieved this weekend. A farewell to the island but not forever, just until the waters was them ashore once more, here or elsewhere.
Please read all of the following thoroughly to prevent yourself from any errors:Rules
- You may not roleplay in the actual school of Tenūsa unless given express permission by Lawrence Maynard.
- If you wish to be involved in the main story event of day 2, it is expected that you do not write private or group threads based on the morning of this day as the story will be in effect.
- NPC characters can come with you to the island but they would not be staying within your homesteads and they will not be involved in moderation. Those are for players only.
- You MUST be indexed in order to participate in the moderated event on day 2.
- ALL general rules of roleplay regarding content, wordcount and AI are to be followed as they would in any other forum.
Can NPC's attend the event?FAQ (Will be added to if questions are recieved)
Yes all NPC's like your immediate families may attend the event with you, however, they may not participate in moderated threads, errands or sporting events.
I would like to run an event during this trip. Is that possible?
Yes this is possible albeit a little complicated. Mini events can be ran on the first day and the final day to not interfere with the main story event on day 2. Please note, however, that the impact of the story event may impact your characters journey and attitude on the third day. To avoid conflict it is best to contact Lawrence directly if you have an idea in mind.
Can I attend as a graduate/adult?
Yes this event is open to every player on site regardless of age/role. Just make sure not to burn yourself out with too many threads!
