“Wish me luck,” she said to Sabrina with a grin. After accepting her handshake and returned their new signature fist bump, Cecilia found herself standing alongside the rest of her team.

Upon witnessing Kaitlyn's little trick, Cecilia flashed her a quick smile and gave her a thumbs up. It was a shame to see her caught, but there was no point in dwelling on the matter. Soon, it was her to attempt summoning. Brandishing her wand, Cecilia pointed at her stone. “Wingardium Leviosa,” she spoke, ensuring to swish and flick. Her lips curled into a faint smile as it slid into the green. That did not seem too bad.

It seems that was enough for Cecilia become complacent. Perhaps this was why she steered clear of duelling. Compared to Rosaline, her attempt was incredibly pathetic. At least she managed to move hers slightly, despite it not moving anywhere.

“It's fine. We're just warming up, right?” She grinned at the girl.

Cecilia then turned her attention to Erast, staring in disbelief as he stumbled. Merlin's beard, again? First he nearly drowned in water polo, now he was tripping over air in the least lethal sport. It must be so difficult to live with the constitution of a sickly Victorian child, Cecilia lamented as she let out a sigh.

After Aly berated him, she fought the urge to vocalise her true thoughts. In an attempt to help him save face, Cecilia simply fell silent whilst arching her brows. Unfortunately, her eyes were still filled with judgement until the moment she averted her gaze.

After the first spell to disarm the younger Gryffindor girl, Kaitlyn couldn’t help herself. Not at all. It appeared that fate would continue it, as well. Kait blindfolded Meiyu with an Obscuro, which was certainly helpful! But, but, that wasn’t everything that happened! But, it was caught by their referee, Aly. Kait blushed lightly at the older girl’s stern words.

When Kait summoned her stone … well … it hit against Meiyu’s stone. That wouldn’t be too terrible … and yet, it completely knocked the Gryffindor girl’s stone off the playing field. It gave her team another 50 points, but it also wouldn’t earn her any goodwill with Meiyu.

Hopefully Meiyu didn’t take any of the moves seriously, nor hold a grudge over them. After all, Kaitlyn wasn’t a competitive snake. Turning on her heel, she made her way to Aly to serve her timeout.

Why did he even sign up for this? He truly didn’t know. He failed again and again to grasp what was actually going on. Meiyu at least managed to retrieve her wand, but then she ended up blindfolded. Apparently a lot of people decided to target her in some way this round. He could barely wrap his head around the game enough to notice it. Stones were summoned, and bumped out. Only when the seventh year ravenclaw called out the score did he realize they’d lost their lead. «Wait, how?!?» Scrunching up his face, he dragged a hand through his hair in frustration. Whoever thought suggesting that he and Norwood strategize clearly didn’t get how quickly the game changed.

The sun drained more energy out of the raven than it gave, leaving her muscles slack and brain a mush. She thought about using her cap to fan her self with, tried it, and promptly discrading the idea, smacking the headwear over her face instead. Groaning into it, she pondered whether she left it on because it provided at least a sliver of protection or because it was easier than pulling it off. It took an emberassingly long while for her to realise she should've been paying attention to the game she was still a part of instead.

Consistent subjection to utter bullshit only furthered Meiyu's irritation, more-so than the triggering act of being blindfolded as she had previously been subjected to during one of her duels. So self-centered that the act of persistent targeting had Meiyu inch a step closer than where she had stood on the platform, contemplating rushing towards the girl which would only be to no avail — she could not see where she was going.

"Can someone do something about that bitch before I go strangle her." She scoffed, uttering namely to the ears of Elena, who perhaps would be the only one not to raise a brow at her comment. Despite her position as a duellist, Meiyu had a peculiar way of showing sportsmanship, her desire to win overruling any sense of being polite to the opposing team. Even worse, the annoying mutt kept screaming bullshit, her fingers moving to rub the side of her temples in sheer irritation towards him too.

Failure was part of the process!? Aly's words registered in Colin's brain as he gracefully hoisted himself back up onto the stage. There were bits of grass and leaves in his hair and stuck to his white shirt.

Pfft. Colin had managed to fail almost before the the process even started! He made a face at Della. First the broom race, and now this! Ack! It was sooo unbearable! Still, Colin had to admit that she was really good at whatever she put her effort into. And so cute whilst doing it!

Colin shook his head to clear his mind and headed towards where Sabrina was standing, messing around with her hat. At least he could properly cheer on the team and maybe distract Della a bit too!

Although Elena considered herself calm, poised and serene — similar to moonbeams reflecting on a still lake —, there were very rare instance where she was ready to throw hands. Casting an exasperated look at both the chesnut-haired brunette and the slender hufflepuff, she watched both of them narrow on their target like a pack of birds around a cadaver.

Not that Meiyu was anything similar to a rotting corpse, that is — the innate grace and elegance she carried in each of her moves had already distracted half of the team this past round. Perhaps she was biased by the love she carried for them, but each of her friends present were objectively blessed with a beauty beyond the banality of this world. Alyss, her sunchild, perfect embodiment of the truest heart of spring and the beauty of flowers blooming delicately under the sun of june ; Cecilia, fox-eyed nymph with flaming locks, carrying the uncanny beauty of forests, climbing vines and coursing rivers ; and Meiyu, whose beauty was like the edge of a sharp dagger, ornated with silver embedding and lace. A Meiyu who was apparently as pissed as her, her remark earning a laugh from the blonde.

If the opposite team — Exterminators, or whatever they had named themselves — kept picking on her slightly psychotic friend, Elena would absolutely be ready to curse them all out of this field. Except Cecilia, who hadn't done anything but focusing on the stones, as the moonchild had been. Then, and Rosaline earned a dagger-like stare shredding through her skin upon casting it, Elena was met with a Finite Incantatem, making her unable to cast her first stone.

Luckily, her second stone caught up the score, making them stand not so far behind the exterminators. I'm the one going to exterminate you, she grunted innerly, cranky. Perhaps she should have taken some pain medicine for the throbbing headache looming behind the corner. Or perhaps she should have tried to sleep a few more hours. Anyhow, it was not her problem anymore, but that of the opposite team, who really ought to stop targeting her friends. Eat dirt.

The second-year Slytherin was not having the best match, whatsoever. She had two goals this round—to summon a stone, and target her lovely broom-racing teammate, Kaitlyn. The other girl was a pleasure when they worked together, but she was a threat against Alyss’ team. Unfortunately for her, nothing went her way, and neither spell even materialized from the tip of her wand, leaving her a useless caster.

Perhaps she should just stick with Racing.

A test– All of this had to be some awful, blasted test of his virtues. The previous round had ended terribly, with failure to nip at his heels at every turn. This round, even worse outcomes awaited the brunet.

If this doesn't work... Erast clearly enunciated the Levitation Charm this time, brows furrowed in concentration. The spell had lifted his stone well enough, the stone spinning in the air. Erast had thought this would be it. Then, disaster: A sharp ray of sunshine cut into his vision. "Argh–!" Magic withdrew its wings, sending the stone tumbling back onto the finish line where it started. Erast's jaws screwed themselves tight, his gums throbbing with phantom pain.

Unbelievably vexed, the boy had to physically tear his eyes away from his stone lest it suffer worst fates than utter disappointment. Just then, Erast spotted the blind-folded girl from the other team. The memory of the first round where his senior teammate, Colin, had been ruthlessly body-slammed into oblivion resurfaced. ... Would it really be so wrong to finish the job?

Just as Erast stepped closer, his heel caught itself into a gap between the floorboards. His body jutted forward, stumbling towards Meiyu's direction yet completely missing her. "Yan!" Erast flinched. Faced with Aly's anger and scolding, he turned his face away and held his arm petulantly with a huff. Rather than her, isn't Erast the victim? That floor issue was more atrocious than the act itself, cheating intent aside. They should really fix this floor first before turning to penalise him.

Discontentment coiled tight in his chest, but Erast was not entirely shameless under such scrutiny. He swiftly exited the stage, expression a careful mask of mild regret. The only true regret? That he hadn't told Cecilia or the rest of his team to finish the job.

Della had the inkling feeling by the way Colin looked at her that he did not feel as enraged by her shove as she would have liked. There was something about that kid … too cheery? But no matter, the Gryffindor girl served her penalty round dutifully and was allowed to return to the stage. She was giddy to try her hand at summoning once again. It was a close match so far—her team only trailed by thirty points.
