Back on his broom and back in the sky, Ari could see some of the obstacles ahead as his fellow racers flew past him. There was still a chance Ravenclaw could pull a win out of the bag, but Gryffindor was throwing more punches as the race got closer to an end. It would take a lot for an eagle to cross the finish line first, but it could be done. Ari knew very well that throwing in the towel wasn't an option at any point in the race, and it was always good to expect the unexpected.

This was finally going their way, it was almost as if everything was now in Gryffindor's favor. Ying felt the cold winter wind blowing around her as she skillfully flew around all the obstacles that crossed her path. And seriously, it was very easy and obviously the tide would change again.

The young girl finally entered the maze, the last obstacle between her and the finish line and as if her luck had run out, Ying found herself trapped in the maze, unable to find the exit as quickly as she wanted.

She had zero problem with the bright light. Hell, she was brighter than light itself, might as well blinding the light. That was what she was trying to believe. It wasn't looking too good for the birds team, the Gryffindors checked more tick boxes when it comes to skillset. If she wasn't wrong, they did beat the lions once upon a time, didn't remember when, but it happened once, or maybe twice. This wasn't a practice error, perhaps there was something else that caused them to not have the best performance. It was as if someone was rolling dice.

After knocking any eagle from the air, Della set her eyes on the front of the race. She was probably dangerously behind, but she might be able to offer assistance to her teammates. Before closing her eyes in the midst of the bright light, she was sure she saw her co-captain.

Opening them, she was right. Ying was right there, as well as another racer, clad in blue. All three dashed into the maze. Della tried to keep her eyes on Ying, but the dark corners and imposing walls swallowed them up, leaving her alone. A bright light before a dark maze? How ingenious.

She let intuition guide her way, and with only a few twists and turns, she saw the light at the end of the tunnel. She was through! And surprisingly, the finish line was just there waiting for her. Not another flyer in sight.

Alyssea grinned as Xailah blatched yet another bird in her path. "And would you look at that, Ravenclaw's Gwild is next to hit the ground! Alptraum is out for vengeance for having been blatched twice. And look! Ranvier's blatch flies right past her as experience leads actions yet again." It almost looked as if Xailah teleported with how fast she avoided the blatch.

As for the lion at the front of the pack, having her broom taken from her multiple times in the race made her grip firm as Ari tried to pull her broom just before they got a beating from Xailah. No more stolen brooms and falling from the sky for Gryffindor today!

Had Bloom stayed there for much longer, Alyssea would've seriously considered stopping the race entirely and getting her out. The bashing she took did not look fun at all. Man, Beatrice was already not impressed she put Raizel through a tough race, but this? One would think Alyssea was out of her mind.
