Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Nicky lost two duels in her third year. One with Slytherin and one during the summer camp tournament. It was her first year on the duelling team and she was excited to help secure a win for her house. However, after the first duel she fought in alongside Sylvie O'Niell, and which the two of them won, they had to fight against a pair of Slytherin students, one of which was her friend and her partner in crime from the B.O.O.M. prank squad - Henry Knight. Aside from the fact that she had to set her friend on fire and blindfold him multiple times according to their strategy, one more thing was weighing on her mind - the Slythering team seemed to be a lot more well-trained than hers and they were much better at landing spells while she managed to miss her targets a few times over the year, even in the duels she and her partner were lucky enough to win. The summer match was a disaster as well and although it didn't really count as far as she was concerned, it was not fun to lose - it was bad for the team morale and for her house reputation. And what made it even worse - one of the teams she lost to in the summer match was the Ravenclaw one and one of the people in the pair was Robert Toukmond - the guy she and her partner managed to knock out earlier in the year. That meant that the Ravenclaw team was getting better while she couldn't hold her ground against them anymore and she didn't like that.
So when she came home to see her family, she spent most of her days practicing her duelling spells, one by one, fifteen hours a day, with her sister coaching her and her grandfather giving her advice. She was training so much that even her brother, a huge nerd himself, was concerned about her well-being at times. However, when it was time to go back to Hogwarts, she felt like she had achieved her goal - her casting had become a lot more precise and she almost never missed a target anymore. She could even hit her sister who was one of the best students in her year and a great duellist herself. Nicky was sure that now, with her current skill level, she would be able to win any match that she participated in.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Half-Veela
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Olly’s mother had always elicited gawking, drooling stares any time she left the house. Most of the time they were too scared to even dare speak to her, but on a couple of occasions, Olly had witnessed grown men and fall to their knees in front of her, professing their undying love. Each time this occurred she would simply laugh triumphantly and continue on her way. It was always odd. Olly wondered why his father didn't get the same treatment, but he supposed it was the handlebar moustache that put people off.

He noticed this indefinite quality in himself too. Not quite to the same extent, of course, but it was still there. Other wizards in their community would offer additional help at the shops, friends left little gifts to impress him, sometimes even little pre-adolescent love notes would be stuffed into their letterbox. Even when out with his mother, the wannabe suitors could at least tear their glances away for a few moments to fawn over her adorable brat before returning to the true target of their affections. This mawkish display of adoration often reduced the young boy to eyerolls and groans. It made him slightly jealous. Eventually, Oliver’s parents decided that it was best to keep their son at home as much as possible, to prevent from attracting too much attention.

Naturally, being cooped up at home did not agree with the young boy. Oliver snuck out of the house whenever possible, returning with his hands full of sweets and gifts that strangers had given him, much to the alarm of his parents. It was at this point that Serena and Emilio Wilde decided to divulge the secret of Olivers charm to him.

Olly seemed to understand. He had grown up knowing that his father was a wizard, so finding out that his mother was a Veela didn’t seem so out of the ordinary. His mother went on to explain that her own Veela and Vodyanoy parents had disapproved of her betrothal to the Spanish wizard. They had been stringent in upholding the gender dynamics that were prevalent in Veela-Vodyanoy offspring, and did not like that Serena was to provide a child that would have the characteristics of a Veela no matter their gender. As a result, Serena had abandoned her old home in favour of her new family.

She had been a prima ballerina for a touring company until an incident with an argumentative corps member had caused her avian features to become visible on stage in the third act of her performance in Swan Lake. The audience members were obligated en masse, and Serena had been taken in for questioning to the Ministry of Magic. Naturally, the charges were soon dropped after she sufficiently charmed the members of the questioning comittee. What’s more, this was how she had met her husband. Emilio had been working as an unspeakable in the Ministry of Magic at the time, and though he was reticent in his approach to her, he was completely taken by her.

-

Armed with the knowledge that he was predisposed to be able to manipulate others from birth, Olly only became more emboldened. He started to gain a taste for the lavish things in life. Fancy dinners, designer clothing, nice jewellery, anything that he could coax some poor server or cashier to compensate out of their own pay check. Though Serena and Emilio did their best to discourage this, their divorce magnified this behaviour, and Olly’s rebellions only mounted.

Aaron had never owned a pet before his owl Chae-rin came into his life. Sure, his family had a cat when he was young, but he hardly remembered her and certainly hadn't been involved in taking care of the cat nor did he have any memories bonding with the cat. But his snowy owl is another story entirely. Although he had been caught off guard by the idea of getting any sort of pet, the decision to get Chae-rin proved to be monumental. She was not just a way for him to contact his family while he was at school - she became an incredible friend to Aaron. Chae, being an owl, liked to fly more than anything, and that is something Aaron was able to immediately connect with her on. From the moment they stepped into Hogwarts together, Aaron realized he now had a flying partner. She would fly with him during his solo practices for Quidditch rather than staying in the owlery, and she would fly with him when he was running for endurance trainings.

His snowy owl was particularly present for him during his identity crisis following his stepdown from Quidditch at the end of second year. He closed himself off from most of his friends during that time and from his family over the summer, but he would often confide in Chae how he was really feeling - or she could sense when he was feeling down and would be at his side or in the room so he didn't feel lonely. In fact, since getting Chae-rin, he recalls that he has rarely felt lonely - an emotion he really only felt at Hogwarts considering he always had his twin before that.

During the second-half of third year, Aaron started his broom trick riding hobby and, because Chae would often join him on flying, he soon had the idea to incorporate Chae into his routines. He began to use treats and hand signals to communicate the sorts of tricks he wanted to teach her so they could perform together. Their bond at this point was amazing, but training Chae to actually perform on cue and understand that Aaron wanted more than just her to fly with him meant they were learning to communicate on another level. It got to a point where he was not only able to perform tricks with her, but that she was able to retrieve items for him if he dropped something and she knew where it was, or lead him to interesting places that she found on the grounds (sometimes those interesting places were just places she liked to sleep rather than having any real interest to a human being). But to Aaron, it felt like their bond had grown even more from training her to do tricks with him.

Back when Sophie was 6 years old, she was playing at the park with another girl she just met. Her parents were very happy to see her socialising with another child. Both Sophie and the girl's parents were chatting and were too busy to notice some teens nearby trying to kick rocks up a hill. Sophie and her new friend didn't notice either, because they were both too young. One of the teens accidentally kicked a few rocks towards the sandpit, where Sophie was building a house with the other girl. Sophie noticed something off right away, even though she only caught a tiny glimpse of it, she managed to dodge the rock successfully. The other girl, well that was a different story. She was hit, and had no idea there were even rocks flying through the air until it hit her. Her parents took her home, and Sophie, very bored now her friend was gone, and went home 10 minutes later.

On the first day of school when she was in 2nd grade muggle school, her grandma came to babysit her for one day because her parents were busy. Unfortunately, her grandma's vision and memory wasn't the best, she ended up dropping Sophie off at the wrong classroom. It was a 3rd grade class somewhere 2 blocks away from her 2nd grade class. Sophie, thinking adults were always right, actually went inside and took out all her stuff. She noticed her supplies were different from others and the teacher noticed she didn't belong in this class. The teacher asked for her first and last name, and took her to the principal's office to find her real class. On the way, a group of 5th graders were taking out their stuff from their backpacks. 5th graders had a lot of school supplies, such as a computer, books for all sorts of stuff, multiple pencils, and a bunch of other stuff you expect in a classroom. Their backpacks were so big that Sophie had to duck to basically walk through. She didn't really like the idea of being stuck in a 5th grade student maze, and she tried to get out, but stepped on a boy's foot making him drop almost all of his things. It nearly all fell on Sophie's head. Sophie got out of the way as fast as possible and darted out of a gap before things got ugly, she felt like the school supplies barely missed her face. She found the 3rd grade teacher again, but the teacher hardly noticed the 30 seconds when Sophie was missing.

Sophie attended a friend's birthday party later that same year, it was Wednesday and the weather was great. After they handed in the gifts and everything, her friend (Marga) announced that party games would be starting. Sophie thought it was games like "Pin the tail on the donkey" or "Musical chairs". Turns out Marga's taste was different from Sophie's, what she wanted was this: A Water balloon fight. All the other girls loved the idea, but Sophie did not want to get wet. And before she knew it, the game began. She asked Marga about the rules, but Marga told her there were no rules on the battlefield. Sophie hated getting wet, and she hated the smell of balloons. Every time a water balloon headed towards her, her heart would jump. She would get out of the way, duck, jump, dive left, dive right, or dive behind a tree or something. Eventually, she found a big tree in a corner and stood there for the rest of the game, and when the fight ended and they moved on to some actual party games, Sophie came back out.

"Perfection is my personal right. My presence is a precious privilege."
-Dmitri, probably.

What makes Hogwarts a tad bit unique compared to the other wizarding schools is its penchant for housing a surprising number of ghosts within its four walls. The spectral entities, some of whom retain their memories from when they were alive, have become a mainstay for the school, going so far as to make the students immune to their presence after just a few encounters. It has come to the point where squabbles between ghosts and students for the latter accidentally walking through their incorporeal forms is a common sight. During major events, one would be able to see most (if not all) of the Hogwarts ghosts congregating in the Great Hall for a huge phantom-y affair—even the elusive Bloody Baron, Slytherin's house ghost, on very special occasions.

However, you could say the Bloody Baron could definitely be considered sociable when compared to one certain sixth year Slytherin.

At least the guy, Hogwarts' most rarely-seen incorporeal entity, attends such events as a courtesy.

Dmitri Kazimir Jones considers them a waste of time and resources.

Much like a ghost himself, the boy has detached himself from the realities an average Hogwarts student has to go through. Where one might spend their spare time from schoolwork socializing with peers, Dmitri triple-checks quadruple-checks his homework scrolls for mistakes. Where one might roam the halls of Hogwarts for their next great wizard-y adventure, the boy roams the shelves of the library, poring over any half-interesting tome he can get his hands on to get a leg (nay, a whole three bodies) up over his contemporaries.

During his fifth year, the year where wizarding students finally get to test their mettle against the OWLs' standardized tests, it just became much worse.

Or better, if you'd ask him.

Presently, not one single student in the school could reliably tell you exactly where Dmitri could be found (aside from those who own an authentice Marauder's Map, that is). Besides, why would anyone want to, when everybody is also aware of the consequences of starting a conversation with the boy during his downtime?

If not for the Duelling Championships, the boy might as well not exist.

Though one might liken the boy to a spectral ghost—wispy and incorporeal—the threat he poses to those who stand in his way (especially in his duels) is very tangible.

And judging from his track record on the stage, it would be suffice to say that Dmitri Kazimir Jones is very very real, indeed.

Della may not think of herself as having quick reflexes or being particularly graceful. Looking at her, tall, beanpole-ish, limbs a bit too long for her body, most people would probably agree. However, the reality of the situation is something quite different.

In Della's muggle school, she wasn't fond of playing sports for her physical education classes, and she thought she only succeeded at passing her classes because she avoided being put in a confrontational position, i.e., she never went to bat, she never stood close to the goal, etc. However, she didn't notice that she was always carefully avoiding the ball and her peers. Without her consciously realizing it, she always moved at exactly the right moment to avoid being hit. Even more impressive, she was also able to avoid the gaze of her peers at the precise moment they would have seen her as open to a pass or to assist. Teachers couldn't catch her either—when it was time to grade the students on sportsmanship and team contributions, they could never remember what Della had done; they couldn't remember even looking at her. Della successfully evaded all notice of even being on a sports team so she could fade into obscurity and wash her hands with primary school physical education.

During her first year at Hogwarts, Della joined Hui Ming's seemingly friendly first-year dueling game. She found herself in a sea of Slytherins, who had all made an alliance, and she was the primary focus of their spells as the odd one out. Much to the chagrin of the Slytherins, Della lasted several rounds longer than expected, even with only one dueling spell under her belt and nearly every wand aimed at her. This was thanks to her almost inhuman ability to turn and twist away from incoming spells. This was when Della herself started to take notice of her talent. As she saw the person aim the spell, she already felt her body almost done with its reaction.

She was able to put this talent to the test in her first broom racing match. She had never liked sports before, of course, but this was flying, and it was magical. And now that she knew she had some physical prowess, maybe she could find the sportsmanship within her after all. During the first race of her career, she crossed the finish line alongside her captain. Many of the obstacles should have stopped a first-year beginner broom racer, but once again, she found that she knew just how to move at the right moment to glide out of harm's way. From then on, she's made her evasion the focus of her practices and her team's strategy.

Last year in Hogwarts was one of the worst times of his life. For most of the year, he and his girlfriend had been stuck with a slug that controlled their lives. Towards the end, Gray had managed to rid himself of such a creature and regain control of his mind. San on the other hand needed more help than he did to finally escape. The attempts made to free them both were chaotic as well as bloody, one that burned into the purebloods soul.

Since both of those times, he had noticeably seen a difference in the way he dealt with the pain. He was more used to it than before from the number of times he had got bitten and cut by the bugs themselves. The same was also said for when the bug was controlling him, being sick every day was torture but a lesson his body was learning from. It still hurt the same way and to say the least uncomfortable as before, but he found himself coping with it far better than way before.

Along with that, he was also keeping himself physically fit after the bug problem had been vanquished. Having a healthy body was key in keeping himself fit for the upcoming conflicts and sporting events that were sure to come up during the school season. Daily runs during the morning and late evening before the lockdown was in effect were always on the cards. Sometimes he'd be close to getting caught out the pesky prefects were eager to put him into detection for being a minute late, but he'd always tell them what's what when it came to it. What he hated more than anything was the abuse of power.

Fitness could also be found in the form of broom racing. It required strength and nimbleness to keep on and maneuver the broom around things like spells and trees. Doing constant ride outs back home and on the training pitch helped him keep in shape too. Doing broom racing was physically demanding, if his body and mind weren't with it he wasn't going to get anywhere. It was a two way street one way or another, being fit led to a good state of mind, and thinking helped drive a person to go further than they have before.

Both of them put together were going to help him go way past his limits...

There was no end to the laugh the boy had imposed. He wanted chaos now, and always. But yet, why would he do it near his family? One of his father being part of the Baird family- was a human... pureblood? He never really was too into detailing his life, as he found marrying a part-goblin interesting. Carter was the last name of the half-goblin, making it so that Clark's last name was hyphenated. Sure, it was longer to write out, but it honored both sides of the family.

Clark noticed that while his part-goblin father was not his biological dad, he was older- and therefore, knew of everything Clark could do. Carter was only 1/8 goblin- still making him part-goblin. But if they were to bring out Clark's medical information, it would be seen that Clark was 1/4 part-goblin.

Carter reminded him that while some part-goblins are looked down upon by some wizarding families- he at least has a loving family, and someone who can understand what he's going through. Clark looked up at Carter, smiling softly. "Can you show me a spell?"

He really wanted to witness something so cool, something that didn't require a wand like Baird did. Clark needed no reminder that his family- like a grandmother and such- would not be happy about Baird's decision- and would be trying to reignite the spark of war between the two. But it seemed to be useless, as instead of a fistfight or a spell being slung at each-other, it was just a hug and a kiss.

"Sure, what spell do you want to see performed?" Carter returned the smile, adding in a playful tone in his voice.

Clark thought for a minute, before deciding on the bird-conjuring charm. "THE BIRD SPELL! THAT ONE IS SO COOL TO WATCH!"

"Ahh, I like what you're thinking. AVIFORS!" Carter said, holding out his hand, as the crows flew out. Clark found this to be the coolest feature of a Part-Goblin, and Clark definately wanted to give it a try. But instead, Carter whispered to him, noticing the expression Clark had. "No, I'm sorry! You can't try it yet! Here, wait until your third year! I'll help you learn how to cast Avifors without a wand! Just learn how to cast it with a wand at Hogwarts! I didn't get the chance to when I was your age! Trust me, you'll love it!"

Baird walked out of the bedroom, from where he was- when his husband was casting the bird spell that Clark loved. In Baird's hands were several metal items- but most notible was the armor crafted by Carter, taught to him by his father- Clark's grandfather. "One day, you'll make this, and I will show you, just like my father did for me. You might find it fun!" Carter proclaimed, proud of his husband for bringing out something that supported the goblin heritage they had.

Clark replied with a question, this time in the goblin language that only Carter knew. As it would sound like gibberish to others, he knew he was safe with whatever he said. "Dad, do you like being a part-goblin? Do others treat you well? Is there anything else I don't know about being a part-goblin?"

Carter replied in gobbledegook, the goblin language, "Yes. It's how I found your wonderful dad- but- that's a story for another time, we really need to get you to bed! Yes, they treat me well- okay, well- not everyone. Your grandmother- does not like me at all! Did you know we can distinguish the difference between leperachan gold and real gold- like galleons? Dude, we are one cool and awesome breed! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, now. Good night."

Clark responded. "Yes, good night. WAIT WHAT? WE CAN DO THAT? WHEN?"

"I'll train you when it comes time! It literally takes a bit of work, but I need to make sure you do well in school if I am going to help you!"

That being said, Clark went off to bed, a smile on his face. He was one of the elite, the coolest type of people on earth! He would be able to do so many things, one of the things he could do now was speak gobbledegook!
WC: 713 (To clarify, Clark is an adopted part goblin (1/4) and Carter is one of his adoptive dads and is a part goblin (1/8) and are not related biologically.

DESCRIPTION:
Rebecca has found that he has a natural way to present himself that tends to put others at ease. Something about him, perhaps undefinable, makes the tilt of his grin so contagious-- or maybe it's the slight spark in his eyes that begs the question as to what he could possibly be thinking that's so funny? He's always been a little slick, and as the youngest (and prettiest! in his opinion) of three children, he knows how to use that power as however is convenient.

Whether it's diffusing the tension at dinners, or turning strangers into friends with just one conversation, Rebecca finds it simple to connect with others and progress from there. The way he carries himself is casual and open, even if he keeps his private thoughts and secrets close to the chest, he has a disarming charm about him (nonliteral, of course). Rebecca likes people, likes learning what makes them tick and keeping that information in mind for later use.

Of course, there's another more hidden reason why Rebecca acts so friendly. It's hard to take him seriously as a threat, which throws oppenents completely off gaurd when he's smiling and talking one second, then throwing a well-aimed hex at you the next. No one expects it when he cuts through the relaxed facade and makes a strike in earnest. Even in moments of highest tension, it's still hard for anyone fighting against Rebecca to see past the amusing little boy they first thought of him as.

Rebecca also delights in distracting his oppenents with verbal jabs or quips, anything that might confuse them, or anger them to the point of sloppiness. He's never known when to shut up, as his sisters often told him. This can land him in trouble sometimes, but it often has the adventageous effect of throwing normally level-headed enemies off their game, especially if his words happen to strike a particular nerve. If he's set his mind to it, his barbed tongue knows no bounds. More often then not, they cut straight to what's most uncomfortable.

He's not afraid to play dirty in a game of wits, and the uncanny knack for knowing just the most insulting or ridiculous thing to say has driven many to distraction. The duplicity between his natural charm and sharp jibes is likely why the sorting hat landed him in Slytherin, where it could be put to best use.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: The Muggle Condition
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio
"Bye guys!" Wynn said, a bittersweet smile on his face. He was leaving for Hogwarts three days later, and he was spending his last few days of freedom with his childhood friends in the town fair.

"Bye Wynn! We're gonna miss you. Write us lots, aight?"
"I still can't believe they don't allow phones. What kind of boarding school is he going to be stuck in..."

Wynn wasn't a muggle, but he lived ten years of his life like one, with a smartphone in hand and a pen in the other, and he went to muggle primary school like most kids in town. It was also where he met Ben and Kira. Of course, Wynn didn’t tell them he was accepted to Hogwarts—he couldn’t. They were both muggles without an ounce of magic in them, and the story Wynn told them was that he would be attending a boarding school out of town.

Ben and Kira had to leave early for the day, but Wynn still had some time to spare. After watching his friends walk away, he wandered without a destination, his feet eventually bringing him in front of the beanbag-in-a-basket stall. Well, no harm in one game, he thought.

"...this would be SO much easier if I could use magic!" As he approached the stand, he saw a girl trying to toss the beanbag in the basket, but to no avail. Wynn could clearly see that she was throwing it with way too much force: the bottom of the basket was designed to be extra bouncy, so you had to toss it gently at just the right angle. His heart skipped a beat, his hand clutching tighter onto his bag strap. Was she a witch? And was she allowed to mention magic out loud? His voice acted before his shyness could restrain it.

"Hey!" He greeted. "You're supposed to throw it more gently. See that basket next to the one you were aiming for? That's the easier one to score. Like this–" he said, as he did a perfect toss into the basket. "And aren't we supposed to keep magic a secret?" He added with a whisper.

The girl laughed, sounding like silver bells in the chiming in the wind. "Hey, you're pretty good at this! Yeah, you're right, it just slipped my mouth. It won't happen again, promise!"

Wynn and the girl chatted some more, walking around the fair. He showed her a few tricks to win carnival games, and in turn, she told him more about herself and the wizarding world (whenever muggles weren't passing by).

Rip!

"Oh no!" She cried. "I can’t use magic outside of Hogwarts! This is bad." Her shirt got caught on a protruding metal hook from a stall, and a tear was visible from the side. Wynn quickly remembered the threads and needle his mom made him pack inside his bag. You never know when you're gonna need it, his mom had stated with a mysterious smile. Quickly bringing her to a nearby bench, he took out his supplies and starting patching up her shirt. He wasn't the best at sewing, but he was capable of fixing a tear in fabrics at the very least.

"You're a lifesaver! Thanks so much," the girl cheerily exclaimed. "I just realized I never asked for your name."

After they exchanged names and parted ways, Wynn began to head home. He was glad that even if he didn't know magic, he managed to help a fellow witch. Both dread and anticipation filled his heart as the fact that he was now a day closer to leaving home settled in. Maybe he would see her again at Hogwarts.
