She may look arrogant outside, but she is actually a kind-hearted person. She admires nature and always keeps herself up in the garden. When she has a goal for something, no one can stop her. With strong determination and independence, unlike her family members, who are friendly and helpful, she looks a bit like a black sheep. She has no friends because she once made an awkward small talk to her family's guest, so it is scared her to go socialize since. When she was 5 years old, she received a present from her aunt. It was a flower pot with a beautiful young sprout. She was excited and suddenly slip dropped it on the ground. Before it went to break and hit her toe, she was scared and accidentally made the young sprout grow and break from the pot itself.

Astor is a big family that always involves planting, herbology, and magical beasts in the line of work. Skylar has two older sisters, Azalea and Hailey. They are twins who were already in their third year at Hogwarts, and all of the family members were in the Hufflepuff house.

The Astor Manor is located in London, England. It has a medium-yard outside and the big gardens on the inside. Her parents are barely at home because of work, so she used to run around the house, play alone in the gardens, and get lost like Alice in Wonderland. But Baxter, the house elf, always found her even when she was hiding from him. He may treat her with a harsh word, but he takes care of the house perfectly.

Skylar’s only friends are the tree and the plants, and her aunt, Amelia Astor. She never really fit in with the rest of the Astor family either. She was weird as Skylar who was too curious, too stubborn, too fascinated with things that shouldn’t be studied, while the rest of her relatives chose respectable wizarding careers in the Ministry or academia. Amelia and her husband, Professor Charles Astor, dedicated their lives to researching the Acromantula, intelligent spiders native to the Forbidden Forest.

At first, their work was legitimate, but her husband's obsession grew darker over time. Amelia didn’t share his obsession, but she loved him enough to follow. Their last expedition ended in tragedy. The Ministry raided their lab after rumors spread and found Charles was experimenting with breeding charms banned under the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.

Amelia tried to take the blame, but Charles confessed everything to spare her. He was sentenced to Azkaban for unlawful magical experimentation and use of forbidden materials from the Dark Arts. Amelia was released on probation, stripped of her researcher’s license, but free under Ministry watch.

She’s now chosen a quieter life, living away from the city, often spending time with her niece, who reminds her of the days before everything fell apart. She loves to send Skylar to bed with stories from her ancestors’ book. Even though their homeland is not sure, they were definitely Irish-Americans who love to traveled all around the world and had many exciting stories.

Amelia knows that mysterious places, odd creatures, and strange languages can ignite the spark in Skylar's eyes, so she has been telling her tale to Skylar until the present day, and a girl never gets tired of hearing it. Skylar had a dream that she would have a big adventure journey beyond her playground like her aunt one day.

However, three months before she turned 11 years old, her parents came home to prepare Skylar for Hogwarts and found her in one of the gardens inside the house. She was trying to say something in a weird sound to a small green snake on the tree, and it coincidentally went away.

The shock of Skylar's parents hit immediately, and they never treated her the same. Even though she is not a Parselmouth but a girl with good memories of whatever she had learned. Now, she is even more alone and feel more like a fish out of water than ever she does.
