| xxxx | 🆃he high up looked beautiful when she was surrounded by stars. As far as her sight led ended up to be a perfect scene for drifting into her thought. Before, she realized it was past ten minutes of her appointment. Skylar wondered where her best friend would be. Yes, she was sneaking out again tonight. It was like her common thing to do before bed by now. However, she was not here, at the Astronomy tower, to answer curiosity this time. She was here to meet Rose as both had agreed on their secret ritual. Not sure if this time would be their last stargazing, but as always, she expected this to be one more good, memorable time with her friend. Even though this year had been full of accidents, chaos, and troubles, she did not want it to end so quickly. Before Hogwarts, most of her days had been spent talking to plants more than people, pretending to be a proper young lady while feeling completely out of place in her own home. But here… at Hogwarts. It was the first time she did not feel alone, and the first time after a long time that she actually felt she could finally fit somewhere she belonged. The grounds and castle were her playground, and somewhere within these walls were people who actually understood her. People who did not look at her curiosity like it was something strange to hide away, but someone who accepted her egarness to reach her goal instead. She let herself drift further into memory lane before the familiar footsteps would pull her back again. “Rose?” | xxxx |

Quick steps echoed in the almost empty corridor. Rose was hurrying as she was already a bit late. The Ravenclaw Common Room was not far from the Astronomy Tower so Rose took her time thinking she had a lot of time making her late in the end to her appointment. Thus she was hurrying not to make her best friend waiting longer for her. Obviously it was not without thinking of the numerous stairs of the Astronomy Tower. When she arrived at the Astronomy Tower she stopped for awhile to catch her breath before having to go up the stairs. Despite her will of not making her friends waiting any longer Rose didn't want to fall in the stairs so she would just calmly going up. Still hurrying a bit.
While going up the stairs Rose was thinking of her friendships with Skylar: from their first encounter and how unexpectedly the two girls got along and bonded so quickly to now at how close they were. The Slytherin and Ravenclaw girls were so different yet similar. Rose couldn't be more grateful than having a friend like Skylar. She was also glad to be able to stargaze with her best friend. Aside her brother -who also loved stargazing- Rose thought she would have to do it by herself as she wouldn't be able to find someone to do it with her. Of course she could ask her brother but he was being busy with his things as well. Nevertheless she still should do it once with him to catch up although she would see him during the summer break. And they were definitely going to stargaze together as well. Despite having close friends at Hogwarts sometimes Rose needed to see her brother as well. Although they were in the same school and even same house they barely met each other.
Rose was getting closer to the top of the Astronomy Tower where Skylar was probably already waiting for her. Rose was always happy to stargaze and even more with a person as important as Skylar. It has been some time since they stargazed together so today was a perfect day to do it again.
Finally Rose reached the top and stepped on the floor when Skylar's voice called her name.
"Skylar!" she said going to her friend with a smile before pulling her into a hug to greet her.
"I'm sorry to have come a bit late. Have you waited for a long time?" Rose said while pulling away from the hug her voice full of apologies and embarrassment for having made her friend waiting. Yet she felt really happy to see her.
“She looked towards the dark, starry sky wishing she could drown in its vastness, the way one drifts in the deep, endless ocean.”

| xxxx | 🅼elting into the hug, Skylar happily smiled at her friend. “No, that’s all right. I was enjoying the view up here anyway. What about you? No one caught you on the way here, right?” She pulled back with a concerned look as if her friend would get in trouble because of her. Honestly, Skylar did not care much about detentions herself. At this point, they were practically part of her Hogwarts experience already. But Rose was different. Even with all the courage hidden beneath the girl’s gentle nature, Skylar still preferred keeping her friend far away from unnecessary trouble. “How silly! They have curfew in such a place with a good view like this,” she muttered in disbelief, sighing dramatically to herself and gazing at Rose with a wry smile. She walked toward the edge of the Astronomy Tower and mentioned for Rose to join her beside the railing. The cold wind brushed through her hair as she searched for something in her bag, pulling out a small dark green blanket. “See?” She held it up proudly before handing it over to Rose. “I actually remembered to bring it this time.” She chuckled softly, and covered her shoulder with it. Then she turned to the ocean of stars. When she was looking at them wanderlessly. It gave her an unexplainable feeling, like having a butterfly in her guts, or dysfunctional heartbeat. “Looking marvelous as always.” She let out a deep exhale, framing the sight with her four fingers. “Do you bring a camera today, Rose?” Her eyes widened in excitement, hoping the girl’s answer was the same as her thought. The scene before her was too precious by the sight alone, yet even Rose did not bring one. She still admired them in her mind anyway. “So… What will we be gazing at today? Any idea?” | xxxx |

Skylar reassured Rose about her being late and that she was just enjoying the view. Rose smiled at her best friend glad to finally meet her to stargaze with her. Her heart warmed at the concern in Skylar's voice when she asked her whether anyone caught her while coming here. Rose's smile widened as her cheek slightly flushed at the care from her friend.
"Don't worry I didn't get any troubles to come here nor anyone who have seen me." she reassuringly said to her friend with a smile.
Rose's eyes quickly scanned the place for her to remember and get familiar with it again. She really appreciated this room. High and open allowing a perfect view on the sky. Although her best friend muttered Rose could still hear her. She didn't say anything yet she just amusingly smiled at the comment she couldn't agree more with. It was indeed a shame but Rose was understanding it any better and although having a curfew could be perceived as compulsory it was also the best for them. It was not in Rose's nature to go against the rules and she was feeling rather nervous about it but at the same time a certain excitement was there that she appreciated. The thrill of the risk. Moreover they were doing nothing bad but wanting to admire the stars together.
Then Skylar took a blanket out of her bag she handed to Rose before they both covered their shoulder with it. It was warm as Rose was feeling the cool wind brushing her face glad to have the blanket. Skylar looked at the sky and Rose smiling looking at her friend did the same. It was indeed beautiful. Rose could spend hours losing herself in the beauty of the shining stars above her. As they were both amazed by the magnificence of the sky Skylar suddenly created a frame with her fingers. Before she asked Rose instantly understood as she was opening her robe to let see a camera hanging over her neck when Skylar asked if she did bring it. Rose smiled happy that her best friend remembered it.
"Of course!" she enthusiastically answered while showing the camera proudly to her friend. "And I'm planning on capturing this moment into long-lasting memory." she added ready to take a picture of the sky and Skylar.
It was indeed a good question at what they could stargaze today. Since Rose had her camera they could indeed find constellation and take a picture of it.
"How about we spot constellations and take pictures of it?"

| xxxx | A bright smile appeared the moment Rose proudly revealed the camera hanging around her neck. “Oh, no.” She immediately raised a hand to cover her face. “Don’t waste your film on me. Photograph the stars. They’re much prettier.” A faint flush crept onto her face as she quickly looked away, pretending to be far more interested in the night sky than she actually was. “Besides, they’ll still be beautiful a hundred years from now. I, unfortunately, will still just be me.” She then folded her arms against the cool breeze before pointing somewhere in the sky, painting in the air. “Constellations sound fun. Last time, we found more than one. I wondered if we would find more like that on this spring night. And, the weather is just perfect, not too cold until we had to stick ourselves to the tree.” She laughed softly. The stars glittered above them like scattered silver dust. Skylar narrowed her eyes, scanning the sky. “That Ring Nebula is so beautiful. You wanna look at it?” She offered her binoculars to Rose before lifting a finger and pointing toward the glowing smoke that expelled its outer layers into the darkness, shaping like a donut. “You should take a picture of that one first, then we form it into constellations.” The camera would probably capture the stars better than their eyes anyway. A moment later, she pointed again, a little bit further to the north, a striking, blue-white beacon. “I wonder if that is Vega.” Even she felt like she got better in Astronomy, but less than Rose knowledge anyway, and her confidence was smaller than the ant brain to have the urge to say things that were not involved planting. | xxxx |
