Robin is a bright young girl who considers herself to be full of ambition and dedicated to doing her best in school, but perhaps could focus a bit more attention on being… less odd. Other people would say that she is blunt, while she would say that she is honest. Robin consistently finds herself amused by her peers, not completely understanding how to interact with them but is an expert at observation and blending in the background. She isn’t used to opening up to many people, but once she does, she is sure to be an incredibly loyal friend. Anyone wanting to be friends with Robin should expect her to be fully invested in their friendship, while never quite trusting someone until they prove their loyalty. Reducio Growing up with four older brothers and a younger sister taught Robin how to be a natural caretaker, the skills of silent observation, and the ability to be a great team player. Like a protective watchdog, Robin is very fond of the people she associates with, but can be pretty cruel to those she dislikes. Roughhousing with your older brothers can foster a strong sense of grit and determination, but it also breeds a lack of tact and a filthy potty mouth. At Hogwarts, Robin is prone to wandering the grounds - usually seen with her deck of Tarot cards and shrouded in her signature array of black and brown clothing. Robin is a bit of a recluse and had hoped to come out of her shell during her first year at Hogwarts. She was never too close to her family besides her Dad (who's gone MIA) and her younger sister Sam, but she's read plenty of books with the whole "found family" concept - she hopes to achieve this "found family" thing on her own terms. She, on first meeting, is a bit hesitant to be the first to show their neck. Usually, this can come across as her trying to gauge whether someone is affected by her odd expressions and mannerisms, but most of the time, it's simply because she thinks people's reactions to her are quite amusing. She hopes to meet like-minded individuals who see the value in learning, while also knowing how to let curiosity turn into fun and excitement. Robin's drive to do well in school is entirely her own ambition - her father was the one to push more scholarly routes, but, not having seen him in a few years, Robin's determination to do well is driven by her own high expectations, rather than any external forces. I'm thinking she'll be pansexual. Life At Home Middle child of six, Robin is used to keeping herself occupied amongst chaos. When Robin first left home, she thought life would be better. Now she's not so sure. Reducio Robin is the second youngest in a large family. She lives with her mother, Cristine, 39, and her five siblings in their childhood home in the suburbs right out of the city. Her mother was always a bit distant and was never great at splitting her time amongst her children, but once you did get her attention, she was the kindest mother a young Welsh girl could ask for. Robin didn't know her father very well. After Samantha was born, her dad, Marque, 44, got an incredible job offer in America. For the first few years, he would travel back and forth a few times a year to visit the family. She was only four, so she wasn't able to understand why he left for so long and only came back for a few days each time. Her mother always just hugged her while she was crying and promised that he would always come back. That is to say, until the day that he didn't. He was still supporting the family financially, since her mother didn't have a job at the time, but gradually over time the visits became sparser, and after more time, they stopped completely. She hadn't seen Marque in 3 years. Her mother refused to talk about him and her older brothers weren't all touch-feely either so she decided to never broach the topic. The only thing she knew for sure was that her mother had to get a full-time job as a waitress in order to support the family on top of whatever child support Marque pays her. Whenever Robin thought of her dad, she thought of those days that she would wander the beach collecting shells while he fished with her brothers, all never knowing that he would collectively abandon them all one day. Her four older brothers are Dennis, 20, Andrew, 19, Mike, 17, and Jeremiah, 14. She wasn't too particularly close with any of them, except maybe Jer, as they are much older, but they all went to the same public muggle high-school and still live at home with their mother. The fondest of memories with her brothers consisted of hours watching them play video games, participating in the family rugby matches (where the boys would certainly go easy on her, despite her protests) and being tossed around the waters whenever they decided to swim at the beach. Most of them were pretty protective, especially Jeremiah, since he was the closest to her age. That definitely didn't stop them from teasing her. Robin’s only younger sibling, Samantha, 7, is too young to be of any /real/ companionship, but Robin is extremely protective of her. They have shared a room for as long as Samantha could walk, and despite feeling resentment to her mother for having yet another kid she couldn't give her attention to, the resentment never traveled to her younger sister. They were in the same boat after all. Despite Robin's family inconsistent struggle with money, they never had to go a night hungry or cold. They have always been comfortable, and as close as a family could be because of it. They all grew up loved and safe, but perhaps a slight bit "odd" in comparison to most families... Especially after their father, Marque, picked up and took off to America for "work." All of her siblings were mixed, considering their father was an African man. His family was originally from Kenya, and had migrated to Wales a generations before he was born. None of Robin's siblings have shown any sign of magic, and she was the first and only to receive a Hogwarts letter. She can only hope that little Samantha will receive one as well! First Instance of Magic An overly anxious child regarding turning in her assignments, Robin's first instance of magic appeared when she felt she most needed it. Always strive for perfect. Reducio At 8 years old, Robin had never turned in a homework paper late. Even the concept was mortifying to her - her teachers were the ones who reported directly to her mother and Cristine would NOT stand for it. She expected only the best out of her children. Honestly, none of the boys had so much as succeeded successfully in school, so she felt as if she were her mother's best chance, besides Samantha, and she took that very seriously. So that is to say, when Robin walked into her class one morning, extremely tired from having stayed up all night reading ahead in the assigned class reading (it was just too good to put down!) she was absolutely horrified to have realized that she left her paper at home! Robin didn't have a cell phone, so there was no way she would be able to call home, and she wouldn't be able to look her mom in the eye if she had to leave work to help her. Plus, her teacher, Mr. Totting, was incredibly forthright about his late policies: there was an 80% cap. Atrocious! Sitting in her seat, she was absolutely panicking as her teacher slowly collected each parchment off of her classmate's desk's. She was just thinking of some kind of ingenious excuse, quite ready to burst into tears of frustration, when out of nowhere, a small piece of parchment materialized into her hand. Confused and slightly nervous, she unraveled it and there was her completed assignment, dated and ready to be turned in! She couldn't understand it. She was sure that it had been tucked under her book from last night, sitting on her bedroom desk back at home. Before Robin could even consider how the impossible was made possible, her teacher was in front of her, hand outstretched. Absolutely relieved, and quite stunned, Robin turned in her paper. As the paper left her hand, she almost felt a bit of comforting warmth leaving along with it. Later, after checking her school portal, she noticed she got a 100% on her paper. That was the first time Robin was confronted with the idea that she was not normal.
