Appearance: A pale white girl with straight dark hair that reaches her back and emerald green eyes. Almost never smiles, and stands rigidly still in perfect posture. Avoids eye contact. When out of uniform, often wears traditional (and very old-fashioned) wizarding garb. May come across as strange, unfriendly or even creepy at first glance.
Personality: She is quiet, observant, and cautious. Deeper down, she is a caring and curious person who longs for connection, but she is also very self-critical and socially anxious, traits that stand in the way of her relationships. She also has many internalized biases about blood status, but is more ignorant about it than hateful.
History/Background Story:

Isadora, or Dora for short, was born on June 2nd, 2011 to Cassiopeia Everridge in London, England. The Everridge family is a wealthy and well-known one due to their prosperous mortuary business. Dora's great grandfather founded the business, and he and her grandfather, Sullivan Everridge, grew it to be one of the most esteemed and profitable ventures in the death industry of the wizarding world. Her grandfather married a high-society woman, Ramona Everridge, and they had two children, Harrison and Cassiopeia. While not named as one of the Sacred 28, the Everridge's upheld their reputation of having a pure-blooded family going back several generations on both sides, and they made sure to pass on the belief of pureblood supremacy in their household.

So, when Cassie Everridge became pregnant from a one-night-stand with some Muggle man, her family was none too pleased. Cassie went through with the pregnancy, but left Dora in the care of her grandparents in order to travel and spend her wealth freely. While unhappy with this development, her grandfather remained resolute that they have a duty to their family.

Dora grew up in her grandparents' manor in the borough of Havering, East London. The estate is right next to the family mortuary and a large graveyard, with acres of private-owned land around it, isolating Dora from the outside world. Young Dora was well-acquainted with wealth and death from a young age, both becoming completely natural to her. Her grandmother took primary responsibility in bringing Dora up right. This meant teaching her all the etiquette of a young lady representing the family name. More importantly, it meant correcting any un-witch-like behavior that could reveal Dora's true blood status. To those outside the Everridge household, Dora is a pureblood like the rest of them.

Dora befriended the family house elf, Spug. They would play games, and Spug would read her 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' at bedtime. One day when Dora was 4, her grandmother witnessed her hug the house elf and say "I love you" before bed. In the morning, Spug was gone, and her grandmother told her that she must never become so intimate with a servant again. This was one of many lessons that shaped Dora's perception of herself and the world. Her grandmother held her to high expectations, which Dora often fell short of, and over and over Dora was told that her half-blood status was to blame for her inadequacy. Of course she would believe it. Her grandmother also made sure Dora knew to keep her blood status a secret for the sake of her family's reputation.

Not that she had anyone to tell. Dora was alone on her family's property most of the time, her only company being her grandparents, and then her Uncle Harris and cousin Bradley when they moved in after her uncle's divorce and when her grandfather's mental health declined. Uncle Harris took over the mortuary practice completely when Dora was five, and she grew to enjoy his company the most. He indulged in her curiosity about mortuary magic, didn't correct her the way her grandmother often did, and even brought her an interesting book occasionally. Unfortunately, her cousin (one year younger) was not so friendly, often picking on her in secret for her blood status. An incident when Dora fell over during ballroom dancing lessons earned her the nickname "Dizzy" from Bradley. The few social events Dora went to were high-society meetings of family friends, and Bradley habitually teased her in front of his friends making her feel more ostracized. Dora grew to be very closed-off and independent as a result.

When she wasn't being schooled by her grandmother or helping her uncle, Dora grew to like reading. Sometimes on subjects she was curious about, like ghosts and other spirits, and other times fantasy she could escape into. One of her most prized possessions is a weathered copy of 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' with moving illustrations. Her favorite story is 'The Fountain of Fair Fortune', but as a witch and a muggle man fall in love in that story, she keeps the book hidden away from her grandmother. That story is a silent wish for the life her mother and father could've had. In fact, she thought of her mother in the role of the witch Amata since she first read it, and would often idolize the image of her beautiful mother that hardly ever visited home.

Dora also liked to stroll around the large property, through the woods and between the tombstones. Age seven, she met a stray cat lurking in the graveyard. As her grandmother was not a fan of animals, Dora secretly visited him and brought him bits of food. He became sort of her unofficial pet, and she called him Epitaph. (Epi for short)

For a while, it was a worry in the Everridge household that Dora might be a Squib. It was barely spoken of, but Dora was terrified of it. She'd heard the adults speak of Squibs as horrible terrorists, and she didn't want to be like that. It came as somewhat of a relief when her magic manifested at age eight. At Lucas Chapman's birthday party, Bradley and his friends kept bothering her and taunting her. Bradley called her a Squib, and as she felt a spike of fear and anger, his drink shot up like a geyser into his face and all over his clothes. Dora felt relieved that she was magic after all, though she was scolded later for making a scene.

Her Hogwarts letter came soon after her 11th birthday, and her grandmother took her shopping in Diagon Alley for school supplies. It took about an hour for Madame Malkin to fit her robes to her grandmother's standards, and then it was off to purchase a wand. Dora was mortified as it took five tries to find a wand that responded to her at all, thankful that her grandmother chose to wait outside. When a wand did light up at her touch, Mr. Ollivander explained that the wand is attracted to energetic wizards, and may be swayed to another if the user becomes lazy. This caused some worry in Dora, who didn't see herself as the most energetic person. She resolved to take expert care of her wand, hoping it would work for her even if she's only half a witch. Then, she purchased the rest of her supplies (her grandmother sent a house elf to pick up the rememberall, she didn't want Dora in the Weasley shop) and was taken home. There, she waited for September 1st to arrive, and her journey to Hogwarts to begin.

Dora was first introduced to Hannah Pre-Hogwarts, at a Summer Ball the Blossoms were hosting. Their meeting was awkward, and Dora's not sure if Hannah liked her. Additionally, she knows Hannah's family has Veela blood, which her grandmother doesn't approve of. Altogether, Dora's quite nervous when she gets teamed up with Hannah for an Astronomy project. However, the project goes well, and Hannah doesn't seem to remember their first awkward meeting. Dora wouldn't mind working with her again.

Ruby is possibly the most impressive and terrifying witch she's ever met. They were pushed together by their families, and Dora was sure Ruby wouldn't like her. That's why she was surprised when Ruby offered to tutor her. Their sessions have been going well so far, helping Dora with her spellcasting abilities. After pressure from her grandmother, Dora asked Ruby to help her learn to duel, even though she still isn't comfortable with the idea.

The duel doesn't go well, as Dora quickly realized she was far too overwhelmed. She quit halfway through, but instead of admonishing her, Ruby invited her to tea. Ruby told her that the important thing wasn't winning, but trying her hardest to improve little by little. By the end of their talk, Dora wasn't completely convinced she did well, but she became determined to be a better witch for her supportive tutor.

At the beginning of her second year, Dora wrote Ruby a letter telling her about her summer.

Dora first met Tesla when the brash witch forcibly injected herself into a conversation. Since then, she seemingly ignored Dora's walls and gotten closer to her. They studied together sometimes, and gradually Dora felt more comfortable around her. She became the first person Dora considered a friend, as scary as that was to her.

Going into their second semester, Dora was surprised not to see her as much, especially when Tesla would fall mysteriously ill. They spent some time catching up in February, though, and Tesla organized an indoor campout in early March that Dora participated in. Then at the end of the year, they said goodbye as they packed up in the dorms. Dora felt sad she wouldn't see Tesla until September.

In a surprising turn of events, Tesla showed up under a different surname at the Everridge Summer Ball! Apparently Tesla's grandmother is a good friend of Dora's grandmother, and the two were astonished and delighted to meet again.
