Injured Pt. 2
Date: January 28th, 2023
Interacting with @Joseph DunnOh dear, oh dear, oh dear!
This is not how Dora was expecting her evening to go. Currently, she's helping support the weight of another boy, Slytherin from the looks of it, who fell out of a tree and hurt his leg. The three flights of steps to the hospital wing have Dora questioning the architectural choices of this castle. Finally, they've made it, and Dora helps the boy over to an empty bed.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of activity here. Most people are probably enjoying supper right now, not catching their breath after hauling a stranger up to see a nurse. But she can't be too annoyed, because all the way up the boy was wincing and groaning in pain. She truly hopes he's not really that hurt, just being dramatic. But, they won't know for sure until one of the staff comes round.
"How does it feel?" She asks, then feels silly because she doesn't even know his name. "Sorry, I forgot.. My name is Isadora Everridge. What's yours?" When she saw his Slytherin clothes, she wondered if perhaps his family might know hers. However, she's never seen him at any balls before, or at least she doesn't remember him. His reckless behavior isn't completely out of place with some of the younger pureblood boys, but she's never seen her cousin scale a tree. It's just not proper, and clearly, it's dangerous!
"Don't worry, someone will come round soon."

Injured Pt. 2
Joseph was mentally slapping himself. Why did he think climbing a tree in winter when the ground is frozen was a good idea? What a stupid decision. So here he was leaning on a pale girl with long dark hair with emerald, green eyes. Joseph winced as they climbed up three flights of steps Why is there three flights of stairs to the hospital wing? . She helped him hop to the hospital wing and set him down on a medical bed. Joseph looked around and saw that there wasn't much activity in the hospital wing.
"Of course they're all probably down in the Great Hall eating dinner and not getting injured because of a brain malfunction." thought Joseph.
"How does it feel?" asked the girl.
Joseph looked up and didn't answer. Why was she caring so much about him they didn't even know each other's names!
"Sorry, I forgot. My name is Isadora Everridge. What's yours?" introduced the girl.
"My name is Joseph Dunn. Nice to meet you, Isadora. And to answer your previous question it feels like my knee has been hit by a bus." He replied wincing.
"Don't worry, someone will come round soon." Isadoara assured him after waiting for a while.
"Hopefully” replied Joseph in despair.
A bad habit Joseph sometimes has is thinking about the worst possibilities when something goes wrong it make him cry most of the time. So, Joseph turned his back on Isadora and stared at the ground as he felt hot tears going down his cheeks.

Injured Pt. 2
Date: January 28th, 2023
Interacting with @Joseph Dunn and @Polonius FroggeJoseph's downcast expression and grunts of pain when he moves his leg make Dora feel bad for being slightly annoyed at the whole situation. Yes, maybe he was reckless, but he doesn't deserve to be hurt because of it. His description of his knee has her wincing in sympathy. And... is he crying? Dora doesn't know what to do, she's not used to consoling people!
"Hey, it's okay!" Dora tries to be comforting, and looks up to see the figure approaching. "Here comes the nurse now! I'm sure he'll have you healed up very soon."
The school nurse, Polonius Frogge, comes over and asks what the problem is. Seeing as Joseph is a bit choked up, Dora speaks up for him. "He hurt his knee, sir. He fell out of-" She stops, remembering what Joseph asked her right after the fall.
"Please don’t the staff in the hospital wing that I fell down from a tree."
What should she do? She doesn't want to lie, least of all to an adult! But, the boy had seemed so desperate about it. She doesn't want to hurt anyone...
"Er, he... He fell down some stairs. And landed on his leg." She lies, screaming at herself internally for doing so. Thankfully, the nurse doesn't seem to notice her fib, moving to examine the leg himself and treat it. Dora bites her lip, nervously looking back at Joseph.

Injured Pt. 2
"Hey, it's okay!" said Isadora soothingly "Here comes the nurse now! I'm sure he'll have you healed up very soon."
Hearing this Joseph quickly wiped his tears away and tried to act like nothing happened.
"What will people say if they see an eleven-year-old crying like a baby." To be honest Joseph already felt like a baby even though no one saw him crying. Nurse Frogge asked what happened.
"He hurt his knee, sir. He fell out of-" began Isadora.
"No!! Don't tell him that!! I guess it's a bit too much to ask for a stranger he had never met before. He'll be receiving angry letters from his mother and father the next morning. Maybe even a what was that thing that he saw a girl got at breakfast? A Howler, was it? Maybe he might get a Howler and have to open it in front of the whole school." Joseph shuddered at the thought of all the possibilities.
Joseph shakes his head at her. Isadora must have saw him because after he heard what she said Joseph exhaled with relief.
"Er, he... He fell down some stairs. And landed on his leg."
It wasn't the best lie, but it was enough to not get Joseph into trouble with his parents. Thankfully Nurse Frogge seemed to buy the lie. He looked at where Joseph was holding his knee and confirmed that was where it was. With a wave of his wand most of the pain on Joseph's knee was gone. Nurse Frogge told him that it was a bit late, and Joseph should stay in the Hospital Wing overnight. Joseph looked up and saw Isadora biting her lip. Joseph looked at her gratefully. Joseph checked the nurse was gone.
"Why are you looking like that? Have you never lied to anyone before?" asked Joseph. He quickly realized he sounded really harsh after she helped her. If it wasn't for her, he would have to hop up to the Hospital Wing by himself.
"Sorry it just sorta came out. Seriously though, thanks. I'm really sorry I was rude to you outside. I own you a lot." Joseph extended his hand for a handshake.

Date: January 28th, 2023
Interacting with @Joseph DunnThe nurse treats Joseph swiftly, and he seems to be in much less pain than before. That's a relief, but the fact that Dora lied directly to a school official has her insides squirming. Every moment near Nurse Frogge is a moment he might notice something off and catch her in the lie. Standing perfectly still and hoping to remain ignored, Dora waits a painfully long time for the nurse to finish up and walk away, leaving Joseph to heal in the hospital bed. She sighs, some of the tension leaving her features.
"Why are you looking like that? Have you never lied to anyone before?"
Joseph asks, looking at her like she's weird. Dora's cheeks tint red and she looks at the ground and mutters a response. "No! I mean, not so directly! Why would I?" Especially to an adult! Lying is more trouble than it's worth if you can be found out and punished for it. The best Dora can usually do is lie by omission, like how she doesn't tell her grandmother she feeds the stray cat in the cemetery or that she actually really likes her Hufflepuff dormmates. Even when it comes to her biggest secret, her grandmother does the lying for her as Dora remains silent. Embarrassed by Joseph's question, she shakes her head and makes to exit.
"Sorry it just sorta came out. Seriously though, thanks. I'm really sorry I was rude to you outside. I own you a lot."
He backtracks, and Dora hesitates. Maybe he's not really making fun of her? She cautiously shakes the extended hand. "...It's alright. But.. um, why did you want me to lie in the first place?" She whispers, still afraid of being overheard. "I don't think there's a school rule against climbing trees.."

Isadora cautiously shakes the extended hand. "...It's alright. But.. um, why did you want me to lie in the first place?" She whispers, "I don't think there's a school rule against climbing trees.."
That got Joseph, it was a topic that he specifically didn't want to go into but there was no harm telling someone that helped him right. Right?
"Before I came to Hogwarts at school, Muggle school I mean, I would always get injured during the school year. Sometimes it my fault sometimes it's not. When it's my fault my parents get really annoyed at me and uhh... climbing the tree was completely my fault and I really don't want to get in trouble in my first year." explained Joseph.
Joseph looked at the clock hung on the wall of the hospital wing. It said 7:30, almost the end of dinner time. He felt really guilty if he had just not been stupid and climbed up that damn tree. Then Isadora wouldn't have wasted her time carrying him here. Then she would have still had time to eat dinner.
" You should probably go to dinner. It's getting late. You might still be able to eat something before bed. Sorry again." said Joseph as he looked down guiltily.

Interacting with @Joseph DunnDora listens as Joseph explains, and her heart fills with sympathy and understanding. Maybe his parents are very strict with him, as a lot of parents are. Dora's grandmother is. Yes, she would never choose to a climb a tree for fun, but if she perhaps needed to retrieve something important from up in the branches... well, her grandmother would be none too pleased. Dora knows how it feels to be afraid of how one's guardians will react to one's mistakes, what punishment and disappointment come along with it. So, maybe Joseph made a mistake, but he already regrets it. Dora doesn't want to punish him further by telling on him.
The lie is already out there, and she's no stranger to keeping secrets.
"You should probably go to dinner. It's getting late. You might still be able to eat something before bed. Sorry again."
Dora looks at the clock, realizing how late it's got. He's right, if she leaves now she'll be able to eat something. But, Joseph just looks so sad, it feels wrong to leave. Or, at least wrong to make him feel guilty about all this. "I'm not really hungry." She replies. It's true, she doesn't have a strong appetite, and one night without dinner won't kill her. Hesitantly, she asks him, "Is there... anything you need?"

"I'm not really hungry." Isadora replies. "Is there... anything you need?" she asked hesitantly.
Joseph was feeling pretty sleepy and tired after climbing up the tree and climbing down the tree. He could really use a good night's sleep.
"Yeah I need a good night's sleep and I also want you to remind me to never climb a tree that high ever again. Other than that, I don't need anything else." said Joseph as he closed his eyes for some peace and quiet.
"I own you a lot Isadora, hey can I call you Dora cause Isadora's bit of a mouthful. Anyways I own you a lot and if ever need anything I'll be there to help." Joseph said to Dora.
"I should look on the positives of my injury to help me go to sleep." thought Joseph "I met someone new, and she seems nice enough. I also expanded my social circle though it's still a tiny tiny smidge. No no block the negative thoughts Joseph"
He started to list off the positive things in his head. There wasn't much to choose from but there was still a few. This went one for a few minutes and before long, his eyes blacked out.

Interacting with @Joseph Dunn"Yeah I need a good night's sleep and I also want you to remind me to never climb a tree that high ever again. Other than that, I don't need anything else." Joseph says as his eyes begin to drift shut. He must be pretty tired after all that excitement. Dora nods as he speaks, agreeing to his request despite expecting she'll never have to fulfill it. This instance is warning enough for him, so he probably won't need a warning from her. Besides, she gets the idea that if he was ever set on climbing that tree again, she'd be able to do little to dissuade him.
"I own you a lot Isadora, hey can I call you Dora cause Isadora's bit of a mouthful. Anyways I own you a lot and if ever need anything I'll be there to help."
Dora blinks, surprised. It's a pretty familiar nickname for someone who barely knows her... Not that she minds. It's actually kind of nice that he wants to call her that. "Uh, yes, of course." She replies, "It's really not much trouble, though. You aren't beholden to me." He doesn't need to feel like he owes her anything. She didn't help him for that, and she didn't even do that much. Dora just helped him up some stairs, that's all.
His eyes are drooping again, and Dora's not sure he's with her anymore. After a minute, he drops off completely. A tiny smile tugs at her lips and she sighs, quietly moving away from the sleeping boy and out of the hospital wing.
'I hope he'll be alright. He was nice.'
