This day was definitely one of the busiest for Linda. After morning race she prepared herself and made her way to the afternoon racing. It was going to be first time for her to moderate the game and this made her feel even more nervous. Standing here and commenting the game was going to be a new experience, and she hoped she was ready for it. The weather was cloudy. It wasn't very warm, but luckily it wasn't too cold either. A light breeze forced her to wear sweatshirt over T-shirt. She watched two teams enter and seemingly ready to start their competition. Who was going to win this racing? Hufflepuff or Slytherin? The only thing she knew, it was going to be not the safest game. Linda sighed, preparing to speak.
Welcome to the Spring games. Today we will see Hufflepuff racing against Slytherin. A brief pause as she looked around. Teams, get ready. I hope this will be a clean game and you all will have fun. Was it going to be spectacular? Most probably it could be. And... Go! Race as fast as you can, but try to stay safe.

Alyss took a shaky breath as she mounted her broom, hands mirroring this nervousness as her fingernails dug into her palms, enclosing the broomstick with her hand. It was time, and she was ready. She had been training for this very moment, and it was finally time to actually play her part in the sport, and battle it out for her team to hopefully reach the finish line first.
She glanced left and right, catching the faces of her teammates, happy to focus on the familiar faces. “Let’s do this.” She smirked, tossing her hair over her shoulder. Her back straightened, and she turned to face ahead. Alyss had been brave enough to get on this roster, and now she would be brave enough to execute this mission. But first? She had to start. “And… Go!” The phrase echoed in her ears, and the race had begun.

┌ ┐ Well, their last race wasn't exactly one Alyssea was proud of. Sure, she expected the outcome, but it didn't change the disappointment in herself that came after. She pulled out of the Headliner a little after that, citing burn out as her reason for leaving, and dedicated herself solely to studying. Hopefully, that time spent nose-deep in books will change something today. └ ┘

THAMP! THAMP! THAMP!
Colin grinned broadly as he charged full speed down to the broom racing track! This was going to be the Best Race Ever! Naturally, because the Brisk Basilisks were high on their second win ever! But also because they were totally going to destroy Hufflepuff!
"OWOOOO!" Colin called out to his team mates. There were actually quite a few new flyers, including their House's resident gobstones maven, Tristan Theremin. Of course, Colin's first stop was always to go over and greet the opposing team. The teams seemed pretty evenly matched across years. He took a look at the first and second year Badgers. Colin smirked. "Guess we'll be checking on you lot in hospital after this race!" He chuckled. "If we can find all yer bits, that is!"
At last he caught sight of AngelFyre, his absolute dearest friend in the whole world! Colin gave her a wink. He wondered if she had foreseen her team's doom this day! "Fyre!" He danced around her, Vailerama in hand. "Ye know ye're going down in flames today, right!" He flicked his mane of pale hair. His brilliant green eyes sparkled in the light. He knew she would take his incessant teasing with good humour --- and liberally dish it back to him with extra helpings of sauce!
He sidled over to Simon, clucking his tongue sadly. "We'll try not to send Fyre to hospital for too long mate!" Colin laughed merrily as he skipped back over to where his own team was gathering. He tossed Vailerama into the air and deftly caught his broom again. "OWOOOOOOOOO!!! EMMMMIIIIIIIIIII!!!!" he called out to the stands, looking for his dearest Eyes of Sky! He sure hoped she would be there --- naturally cheering on the Basilisks!
Colin hopped up onto his broom, crouched down and at last settled into something approaching a relaxed seated position. He smiled as his heart thumped. Of course, he knew Emily just well enough by now to know that that girl --- his girl --- could cheer on both sides equally!

Wyatt geared up. Finally the Basilisks years of hard work were showing results. But that was a stress Wyatt hadn't even imagined. Both the expectations of the racers themselves and Slytherin house had skyrocketed. This was only made more terrifying by the fact that he was the one in first place both times. Was something up with his broom? The cheating rumors were becoming so prevalent that he almost believed them. No matter. He shook off his arms, forgetting all about the world. Right now, all there was, was the race.
And something over there. Whistling. He saw Hanako, just in time to have a kiss blown his way and to see Hanako mouth something that looked a lot like "don't die" or... maybe it was "go die." How Ashwood of him. Either way, Wyatt pretended to catch the kiss with his hand, then threw it back, a blank stare on his face. Okay, now back to the gig.

𝕸aybe she hadn't done as well as she had hoped in her first race. Maybe she could have done better--beaten those Ravenclaws. Now wasn't the time to think about it. Ruth had no choice but to put it past her and square her shoulders, standing confidently next to her seniors. She had been training vigorously leading up to the race. Hell, she had even replaced her beloved comet with a Silver Arrow--a gift from Alyssea herself.
This she clutched loosely in her other hand, the other limp by her side as she surveyed the track. It hadn't been too long since she had received the new broom. This meant that she had a long way to go before getting used to the new sleekness of the material and the bend in its shape. However, she hoped it didn't necessarily affect anything too major.
She wanted to win this time.

After participating in two official broom races, Matilde felt like she could understand a little better the big picture of how they went. Not every broom race was like her first, where she shot up front from the beginning and placed well at the end. Sometimes almost your whole team would fall their brooms right off the bat. Matilde cringed at the memory. However, she knew that this race would be different from either of the previous. This gave her some courage as she walked up to the track. Matilde smiled at her teammates and looked ahead, ready to go.

Hufflepuff v Slytherin - Spring 2025

Today was the very first Broom Race for Kyra, and the young girl was as prepared as she could be, cruising up to the starting line along with the rest of the racers. It was Slytherin versus Hufflepuff, which only meant that this race would be far from easy for any of the competitors involved. Kyra came to a halt at the start with the others, keeping an eye on the track ahead for the time being. Within a short time of waiting, the official spoke loudly to begin the race. Without any hesitation, Kyra burst forward along with the rest of the racers, trying to get ahead at the very start to make it harder for the others to catch up.
