What's one more flier among others that oftentimes vanish so quickly beneath so many others? Sometimes in a matter of a few days, others in a few hours, and the luckiest among them withstanding the wear of up to a few weeks. What was one more flier among them, especially when written in a seemingly messy hand and with a silly sequence of rambling and numbers?
That didn't seem to prevent the same kind of worn out looking parchment paper from seemingly showing up again and again with gibberish on each paper almost weekly, though.
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Beneath the first sequence of numbers there always appeared a different sequence of numbers, seemingly on the 'newer' parchments that got hung up at random time intervals. Examples of these included: 12421305, 8390305, 16032905, and 10532306.
They were just nonsensical ramblings. That was likely all--some kind of idiot putting these up and replacing them as some sort of gaffe. Nothing more or less.
IC Information:
Over the course of the past few years, Piérre has been hard at work creating a sort of 'underground market' around Hogwarts where one can find him and trade for anything ranging from information and stalking of persons of interest to pinching test answers and potion ingredients. Offer a good trade, and near anything is on the menu for Piérre to deliver or offer his services towards. This, however, didn't come without his own need to be entertained--pranking and 'dirty deeds' in relation to said pranking also became a service of his.
However, Piérre is coming to the realization that his years here at Hogwarts are starting to dwindle and fade away, and some of his customers have come to rely on his reliable services and easygoing ability to trade anything for anything if the deal was sweet enough. He needs helpers--people who will not only help to be his eyes, ears, and hands in the deals he's currently running but also individuals willing to fill his shoes when it is finally his time to say farewell to this school.

The first number indicates the POST number (meaning the number of posts starting from the first and working downwards).
The second number indicates the PARAGRAPH number (not including titles, the paragraph number from the top of the post).
The third number indicates the WORD number (the word from the start of the paragraph through the sentences).

If Piérre found those that discerned the code satisfactory to the cause (and if the incomer desired to join as well), they would be accepted as an Associate into the 'club' until they proved themselves and made themselves into a Made Man.
In character, this club is very loosely regulated but dedicated as being the source for sources and other underhanded activities that students could possibly need. The club specializes in information brokering, task accomplishment, petty acquisitions, trade, spying and information gathering, and above all--camaraderie as a collection of tricksters in the form of (at its roots) a 'found' Family.
The club communicates by Book Code which is known only to the members themselves if can be permitted and may change on the monthly--requiring members to remain vigilant and always ensure that their fellows know the current 'matrix' to break the codes needed to meet in locations or to ensure that information is being shared securely.
Confidentiality is paramount to the functioning of the club, and members are often encouraged to prove their 'loyalties' accordingly by maintaining such secrecy. If a suspected breach of confidentiality is discerned, the book code changes instantly--any members suspected of 'leaking' information (often at the behest of unified agreement or by the insight of the Consigliere) is often 'tested' afterwards, usually by the issuing of a false book code to see what they will do with the information... This allows for the snitches to show their true colors, and if they truly are loyal it enables the rest of the club to decide how to proceed with their newly found information.
The club functions in the hierarchical structure of the infamed Italian-American mafioso structures, including a Don, an Underboss, a Consigliere and a collection of Capos, Soldiers, and Associates.
Don: Essentially the "Head Honcho" of the group, the leader of the rest and the one responsible for determining courses of action, large-scheme plans, and overall ensuring the 'togetherness' and high-function of the group. The Don is often advised by the Consigliere and is the center of the web of his operations.
Underboss: The "Right Hand Man" of the Don, this is the individual who 'does the deeds' that are instructed to him by the Don. The Don instructs the Underboss, it's the Underboss' job to 'crack the whip' and make sure that everyone beneath him (the Capos) know what's what and that they do their do diligences. The Underboss is someone the Don trusts enough to be his second in command if he himself is not able to--or is not available to--voice a decision himself. He is also the one that the Don will assign 'special duties' to, if he does not feel that the Capos are sufficient for a particularly serious task.
Consigliere: The "Logistical" manager and the "Advisor" to the Don, the Consigliere represents the political and ambassadorial aspect of the group. Close to that of a mixture of treasurer, mediator, and advisor, the Consigliere often voices lay of the land or important situational aspects concerning decision-making to assist the Don in choosing a plan of action. In this role, the Consigliere may advise for plannings, revenue, ways to improve function, as well as considering outcomes of those plans and function and serving as a sort of 'Treasurer'. Above all, they are the 'third voice' in the conversation--always in the know.
Capos: These are the "Sergeants" of the group, and they are given power by the Don to command over a smaller clutch of "Soldiers" to make sure that their tasks run smoothly. These are the higher-up legmen, and they are often 'on the ground' when it comes to the enacting of plans.
Soldiers (Made Men): The "Grunts" of the hierarchy, these are the individuals who are on 'boots on the ground' when it comes to enacting plans or executing orders given to them by the Capos. They are responsible for their own group of underling Associates, serving as mentors to them in order to elevate those individuals to the status of 'Made Men' like themselves.
Associates: These are the lowest class and are the 'starting' rank for new inductees. They are often unfortunately the ones that are least in the know on the matters of the rest of the group and most likely to serve as 'fall guys' if the Don deems them "disposable". These are the ones that run interference or distraction, and through dedication and loyalty may find themselves promoted into Made Men, usually after some sort of test or task that proves their mettle in particular.
Out of Character, this club is even looser than what is defined in-character. I hope to have a few threads in which purely this group is interfacing, and perhaps some 'Initiation' ceremonies for fun. All in all, this is a plot hook for others to meet one another and for a way to flavor the way that 'troublemakers' troublemake. Piérre is, in fact, looking for someone to replace him and his role as an 'organized troublemaker', which is part of the reasoning behind his forming of this group.
There may be a few threads dedicated to 'club activities', mostly in the form of meetings or ideas for mischief (one can now join the Discord Server for the Mafia Here), but otherwise this is mostly a way to stamp a cool title on your name and be a part of a weird and wacky club founded by Piérre.
All in all, this is a club for plot hook purposes and perhaps a few pertinent threads for not only Piérre but for whatever members need out of this club--a vehicle for opportunity, as it were.
