Physical Description:
Sage appears to have entered into adolescence with the grace of a bull in a china shop. Lanky and painfully awkward, she is lightly-tanned and athletic in build. Ash-brown, pageboy-cut hair frames her features which seem too large for her face. Slate green eyes peek out from under a choppy fringe, along with a snubby nose and thin lips set in a semi-permanent quirk.
This awkward girl is frequently seen in a sweater-and-skirt ensemble, preferring the neutral tones of earthy greens, browns and the occasional pop of burgundy and sienna.
Mental Description:
Sage is a mild-mannered and introspective child whose presence may strike others as aloof. Coming off as shy at first, the girl warms up quickly to those who are kind and genuine.
Her cool-headedness is due to the fact that her family disapproves of overt displays of emotion. As such, she would rather let negative feelings simmer to a boil than discuss them openly. A certain habit of hers is to solve 'issues' through unnecessary (and often one-sided) competition.
Unlike her talented older brother, intelligence is not her strongest suit. While she is a keen learner, a strong aversion to failure pushes her to improve her smarts. Sage absolutely hates disappointing anyone; least of all, herself.

Family Background & Childhood: Sage Astrea Lilly was born to halfblood parents, Rosamund (nee Henry) and Eustace Lilly, on the wintry dawn of January 9, 2010. Her parents were both Hogwarts alumni who married not long after graduation. Her mother, Rosamund, is a freelance herbologist and stay-at-home mum while her father, Eustace, is currently employed as a researcher for the Ministry's Department of Magical Artefacts.
The Lilly family resides in a pastoral estate in the outskirts of the Cotswolds near Oxfordshire. Sage is the middle child with two brothers: August who is 6 years older, and Turner, who is the youngest at 8 years old.
Life in the countryside is simple but fulfilling. Like most halfblood families, the Lillys are fairly involved in the magical community and maintain Muggle contact if only to keep up appearances. Sage has attended muggle school very briefly and has a basic understanding of modern technology and concepts.
Sage's childhood was rather ordinary and uncomplicated. Her parents were involved in her upbringing, so the girl never lacked for anything. She’s acquainted with other wizarding children within her parents’ circle of friends.
Magic is openly discussed within the privacy of home, and heavily incorporated into their everyday life. The Lillys are adamant about their stance on Magic. Its sole purpose is to benefit the wizarding community and should never be practiced unlawfully nor without discretion.
The amount of magic one possessed would be the measure of one's worth - Sage and her siblings grew up with this in mind. While this is true, a Lilly should also never forget the duty he/she must bear to do right by all.
In addition, having scholarly parents meant that academics was considered an asset, so there was a fair bit of competitiveness in the household.
The eldest son August was dubbed a genius, and in recent years, has shown huge promise as an Auror candidate. Sage is not content to live in her brother's shadow and resents how she’s always made to feel like second-best. This and her parents' unspoken expectations would later result in the siblings’ bitter rivalry.
Sage is expected to carry the scholarly mantle in similar, trailblazing fashion. So when she received her acceptance letter, it’s safe to say her feelings were nothing short of complicated. Never mind the hand-me-downs, nor the expectations piled upon her - Sage has heard so many stories about the school and she was eager to experience it all.

First Instance of Magic:
Typical of most wizarding children, Sage has unintentionally demonstrated magic at a young age. The first instance occurred when she’d just turned 5 years old. She and her older brother had gotten into a squabble in their mother’s greenhouse, playing tug-of-war with a shovel.
Sage, being no match for her brother’s strength, had lost her balance and would have fallen into a small indoor pond if not for the vines that’d looped around her ankle and dangled her in the air. Her brother would later joke that if her magical instincts hadn’t kicked in, Sage would have made a fine snack for the grindylows (there were none) that lurked beneath the waters.
FIRST YEAR
Sage met her first friends aboard the Hogwarts Express, namely Kim Sato and Sophia Nelson, with whom she got along with famously. Upon arriving in the Castle, Sage was sorted into Hogwarts. She got herself into all sorts of hijinks thanks to the influence of her friends. Drama would soon follow her friends Sophia and Kim, to which she'd be dragged into not-so unwillingly.
SECOND YEAR
Following her bestfriend's (Sophia Nelson) sudden disappearance, Sage fell into a depression and subsequently failed most of her classes, forcing her to be held back by a year. Unwilling to face her parents' disappointment, the girl stayed at Hogwarts during school breaks. Without Sophia to hold them together, Sage grew isolated from her circle of friends, whom, she supposed, were going about their grief in their own ways - growing apart from each other was inevitable.

Notes to self:
⸙ Her bob is choppy. She has kept her hair short for years, trimming it herself the moment she knew how to. Due to a prank her older brother had pulled on her when she was young, she doesn't trust anyone else to touch her hair!

At 7 months old, this rambunctious kitten is naturally curious and prone to getting himself in tight situations! He is wary around strangers and keeps close to his human, but given enough time (and treats!), Soot may just grant you the honour of petting him.
At 3 years old, Soot is active and playful and undeniably smart. This cheeky cat is always hungry and demands to be fed in the middle of the night much to Sage's consternation. A perfect accessory to pranks, Soot understands instructions enough to carry out simple errands like sending small parcels or deterring interlopers. As with most felines, compliance gives way to moods and requests may or may not be completed in full.
Note: As discussed with Kim, whose cool presence attracts even felines, Soot will be drawn to the boy to give him his daily dose of allergies cuteness.
