Bloom looked down at herself to see that she was in her broom racing uniform. She could not believe it. This was her final game of broom racing in all of her Hogwarts career. Would she be able to do this sport after Hogwarts? Maybe. Perhaps recreational, but definitely not professionally. But who knew that with a couple years of playing on the team, she wouldn't be able to do it anymore. What would free time look like? With all the practicing and games, she would have a lot more time to do other things. But what would they be?

Bloom's mind was whirling with 'what ifs' and 'lasts' and she knew she needed to get her head back into the game. If she was going to play her last game, she was going to give it the best she got. No getting stuck at the Whomping Willow this time around. Bloom lugged her tree as a broom and lifted one leg over the trunk to sit on it. The time was now.

Bloom flew onto the fielding zone and prepared herself by the starting line.

It was Paige's second broom race, and if she was being honest, she was just as nervous as she was the very first game. Broom racing definitely wasn't a sport for the faint-hearted. This time, however, Ravenclaw would be versing Slytherin.

As she looked up at the track, she shuddered at the thought of flying through it. Last time, she only barely made it. It definitely wasn't easy, and this race wouldn't be either. She clutched her broom in hand and made her way to the starting track, both eager and anxious for the race to officially begin.

June stretched out her fingers, ready for a fighting grip. This was it, she felt it in her bones. Today was the day the curse would be broken. Whoever made an unbreakable vow that the Brisk Basilisks would never win a race would drop dead on this day.

Spring was finally here, and so was the last race of Ari's third year at Hogwarts. The first and last races were always special to him since they marked the end and beginning of eras. He had remained on the team for this long, and hopefully he'd be able to stay for the next 4 years. Maybe broom racing could be a potential career if he wasn't offered a chance to come back and teach at the school or pursue other things.

He was surprised at how warm it was today. Although summer was approaching soon, it was still slightly cooler than this during May. He chose to not wear a hoodie for this race, donning a white shirt (a rarity given nearly his entire non-mandated wardrobe was black) and black arm sleeves that covered his forearms, paired with the usual black jeans and boots that had stood the test of time through races past.

"You all are aware of what happens to snakes when an eagle has it in its grasp, yes?" Ari asked his teammates, searching their faces for an answer. Perhaps it would be better to provide it anyway."In most cases, it is eaten. Such was what the myth of Tenochtitlan was built upon, and it now serves as the coat of arms of the country of Mexico. A brief history lesson to show that even centuries ago, eagles triumphed over serpents."

He smiled and high fived whoever would accept one, his usual smile a little brighter than usual today. He felt good about this race, and hopefully those feelings would manifest into a victory for Ravenclaw over Slytherin. He held that hope close as he mounted his broom, preparing for flight.

Not to brag, but Wyatt probably had the highest record of anyone on his team when it came to being knocked out. Maybe even the league! This didn’t leave him with the best mindset coming into a new match, but he chose to make it into a positive. He’d been hit with most every random item, legal and illegal spell, and obstacle imaginable at this point. As Wyatt approached the starting line, he walked confidently and without fear of what may happen. What’s another arrow to the back? He survived it before!

She casually circled around her team for a mere moment, blabbing away about their inevitable fate while barely noticing Colin's gloom behavior in midst of her own excitement. "My murdering partner in crime! Why the long face? There's death in our futures! That ain't nothing to be gloomy about!" Vale set herself up, slowly remembering that she was a captain. Oh right.
