History: The story almost plays out like a movie. A free spirit from Colorado meets a professional surfer from California at a resort, and before they leave they fell madly in love and were engaged. Within two months, the couple was wed, packed up their things, and moved to beautiful Costa Rica.
A whirlwind romance filled with good fortune, fast cars, private beaches, and finally, a little baby girl. Lira Garcia was born on March 20, 2010, to parents Rose and Stephan Garcia. She grew up with sand in her hair, vegan meals on her plate, and a surfboard beneath her feet. In a family that was quite well-off, everything she could have ever wanted (which wasn't much) was provided for. Homeschooled from a young age (or, perhaps "unschooled" is the better term), Lira didn't have many friends. The neighbours were far away and private, all living on large sprawling properties. They didn't have any kids, anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered. So time was spent exploring the ocean, the beach, and the surrounding forests.
Once she showed her first signs of magic and the family was made known of the magical South American school, they didn't... fully understand what it was. All of the Garcia family sees it as some sort of extended exchange program, where Lira will expand her cultural horizons. Close enough.
First Magic: While unremarkable to any wizarding family, Lira sneezing bubbles on her fourth birthday caused a wave of confusion for the Garcia family. Mostly because she did it for 15 minutes straight, and there was no bubble liquid (or even soap, for that matter) in sight. Her mom is convinced her essential oils solved the problem, and it would only be once a teacher from Castelobruxo came to visit and explain the wizarding world that all would finally make sense.
