"Oh. It's just you, Col."

Colin couldn't help but laugh at Gem's response to him bumping into her. "Don't sound so disappointed, Gem! I know I'm no Prince Charming, but still! We're good mates!"

He blushed when Gem said he looked good all dressed up. "Really!? You think so?" Colin had never put any thought into what he was wearing before, really. Gem seemed to be examining him closely. He wasn't used to seeing a girl so critically look him over like this. "Wh---What is it Gem?"

Gem was funny! Well, Colin thought they must both look funny together --- they were good mates, and here they were blushing and carrying on just complimenting each other's ball outfits! "Gem! You're blushing! It's just me! Though I'm sure I'm no better." He smiled at Gem. "Ayo! Just wait til you see me blushing and stammering when I find Clair!"

Colin blushed again at the mere mention of Clair's name.

"Oh! I have this too!" she said. He watched with curiosity as Gem rummaged around in her dress for something. What could she be after? When she pulled the stuff out at last, she opened her hand.

"Oo, sparkles!?" he cried. He wondered what she was going to do with it. "Nice Gem! What's ---?" She didn't even wait for him to ask his question --- she blew on the heap of sparkles and they rose up and around the pair like a snowy whirlwind! For a moment it seemed like they were in a snow storm. As the sparkle snow let up, Gem quipped that they were for his outfit.

He couldn't help but laugh! "Gem! I've still got sparkles in my hair from last year when Piérre exploded them all over the great hall! These will look lovely, too!" His laughter turned into a frown, though, when Gem said she was boring. Even though she changed the subject, Colin kept in his heart what she'd said about herself. He'd have to revisit this sometime when he was thinking straight, because he knew that Gem was cool and definitely not boring!

But for now she seemed intent on helping him find a 'certain Ravenclaw'! Colin smiled. "Yea-ah. GemGem!" He began to blush all over again. "I've been looking for Clair," he said very quietly. "I saw her earlier, but then I couldn't find her. And I found you, and I'd love it if you helped me find her." He bit his lower lip, looking around anxiously for any sign of the girl he liked.

The two captains bantered some more about Snow White and Rose Red, and with Romeo’s remark about the white rose came crossed arms and a playfully crooked glance from the taller boy. Valya looked back with a smile, head leaning to the side in subtle fascination. He’d never seen this expression on the other before, not after years of studying him, and the rugged grace of Rome’s gesture stopped Valentin from saying a word more. Instead, he simply watched as Romeo worked at taking a branch off the mysterious bush in front of them. He was doing his wandmaker thing again, and Valentin loved it when Romeo got that way. It was the Italian’s own, personal artform.

Wanting to help Romeo but not knowing if the shrubbery was a true blackthorn as its appearance might imply, Valentin decided to find Aida to ask about it– certainly the white wix would know [93]. Yet, right as Val turned his head to look for his fellow albino, he spotted one very swanky Cheshire Cat entering the ball in the distance. Valentin had to proceed with his plan. It wouldn’t do to be late, not with such an important matter.

“Just... reach out and take something for myself…” repeated Valentin after his co-captain, already minutes after Romeo’s words. “…Something given...” Valentin nodded, imprinting every word into his brain as if sacred writ. “You need one sometimes…” There weren’t a lot of people Valentin would listen to on this matter, and certainly only one person he trusted enough that he’d actually follow through with the advice. Seeing Die Sterntaler (Star Money) Ileen in the distance, Valentin finally understood. Nodding again and again, as if convincing himself, Valentin spoke softly: “The last blow you do not return, the… he needs…”

In a flash, Valentin excused himself to give away his coat to Queen Ileen, and when Romeo greeted his return with a flick to the ears and a reminder, Valya nodded to him emphatically. His eyes glinted with sincerity as his recurve-bow mouth pouted with determination.

“Okay, Romeva. I will try.” He seemed a bit jumpy all of a sudden, even for a rabbit. “I’m going to make you proud, too. Just remember what I said earlier,” he eased into a whisper. “What’s mine is yours,” …And that’s why I’ll take good care.

With the chill biting into Valya’s shoulders, the captain began his speech requesting that Romeo kneel to participate in a knighting ceremony. The Italian beater then responded with his own terms as he took a knee:

"On one condition. If I am the free knight, a cavaliere libero, then I pledge my first services to you. For once, I must give, and you must receive. Without returns… Without 'giving back' what I give to you. These are my terms."

A rush flooded Valentin’s head and he felt a tad dizzy under the intense cold stare of his co-captain. Breathing accelerating and heart thudding in his chest, a fog of pink washed over Valentin’s marble-smooth face. The boy’s memories spun with visions of falling stars, the way it had been that night on the crystal tower, the way it was when a star fell for him. He had even given that away, the meteorite shard his father gave him, imbedded into the Firebolt now in Romeo’s destined hands. Yet, shivering in the chill of the night air, Valentin’s breath caught in his throat. Struggling through the crashing emotion, Valya raised a hand to touch his closing eyelids. Now was the moment of his true starfall, his Sterntaler moment, as Romeo’s pledge was worth more to him than the sum of everything Valentin had ever given away in his life. With a confused, slightly hysterical half-chuckle, Valya couldn’t believe his fortune. What were all his sacrifices compared to even a fraction of receiving his true heart’s desire? All the pain and struggle… they were all just the pressure needed to form the diamond-hard soul he wanted to share with Romeo… and now, Romeo was giving back.

“I solemnly accept your conditions.” A wedge of ice pressed down through Valentin’s throat and he shook, partly from the cold, but more from the power of the moment. A strange softness lined each of Valentin’s senses as he surrendered to a profound serenity he had never experienced before. A buzzing overtook his head, somewhat like a ringing in the ears that echoed across his skull, but more truthfully it was a lucidity: he stared back more awake than in his normal daily condition of “being awake.” “Let us begin.”

“In traditional knighting ceremonies, the aspirant kneels as the king ties on the recipient’s new sword belt– this is called ‘girding.’ Then, the ruler bestows an ‘accolade’ upon them with brief instructions, followed by closing words and hosting a demonstration of the new knight’s prowess. The word ‘accolade’ [Russian Акколада] originated from a blow struck by the ruler onto the aspirant. Now, across space and time, the details of this strike… differed. The word ‘accolade’ literally meant ‘to the neck’ in the sense of being an embrace. In French today, the word continues to mean ‘embrace.’ Some rulers delivered the accolade as a solid punch to the neck or cheek, and others gave it as a slap. Many used the blunt edge of the sword to strike at the neck, and… others gave gentler accolades, such embracing the neck… Modern depictions show the rite more gently than many would have done it in the past. In no case, however, could the knight return this blow, as it was to be the only one in his life he had to accept without the possibility of returning it. Now… please hold steady.”

Raising the sword in the sky to look at it, Valentin made a decision. He looked back at the kneeling Romeo and bent down alongside him to buckle the sword belt around his hips. Snugly securing the leather belt through its central bronze ring, Valentin completed the girding rite that bound the sword to Romeo forever. Yet, Valya did not rise to deliver his strike. Sitting back slightly on his heels, Valentin’s silver eyes glinted a radiant shimmer of amethyst as he looked back at Romeo’s. If the Italian looked back, he would see Valya’s eyes glistened from more than just the sheen of moonlight.

Slowly, then, Valentin leaned in to embrace Romeo about the neck, and held him there for a moment. For the quicksilver seeker to move in such languid, elongated movements made for a surreal scene, as if all the world now moved in slow motion. The softness of Valya’s arm wound back about Romeo’s pauldron arm, shifting like a snake sideways across desert sands, until his hand found an angle on a shoulder blade with which to pull his lightweight frame to the side. A warm puff of air on the left side of Romeo's face preceded the landing of Valya’s lips there, pressing into a firm kiss that did not yield, did not fade, but only pushed solidly against his cheek. The moment lingered on as Valentin’s only movement, the lifting and falling of his chest, punctuated the drum beat of time.

Drawing in a long breath at last, Valentin leaned back onto his heels and locked his eyes onto Romeo’s if he could.

“Stay smart.” Valya’s right arm slid backwards and over the front of Romeo’s collar bone as the seeker began to extract himself. Yet, before rising, Valentin’s hand grasped at the front of Romeo’s cloak at his neck and pulled. Biting his own bottom lip, Valentin’s fierce eyes burned back into Romeo’s before he pushed him back sharply. With a quick leap to his feet, Valentin stepped away, and he announced:

“…...........And that’s how kings did it in France.”

Seeing Johannes approaching from the side, Valentin raised a hand to grasp hold of Johannes’s shoulder as he often did as a playful quidditch greeting. This time, though, Valentin's eyes flared as if in panic, and his hand squeezed harder than usual, as if using Johannes to prop himself up.

“Hanya…! You look fantastic. The mischievous cat persona suits you… Hey–!” Valentin lowered his hand towards Johannes’s apple, but he was too late. Eyebrows furrowing, Valya watched the other take a bite of the shiny apple. “I had just warned Misha, but I… oh forget it…” Watching his keeper’s face, Valentin knew deep inside that it was already too late. “Thanks for bringing the quaffle. Just in time, too!” Valentin pulled out his costume’s pocket watch to make a note of the time. Eight minutes late, perfectly average for Johannes. All according to plan. Extending one arm to receive the quaffle from Johannes, Valentin picked up his broom with his other hand.

Standing up a bit straighter, the white seeker cleared his throat before raising his voice in English: “In celebration of today’s ceremonies, I hereby announce the beginning of today’s knights-only tournament. Our just and noble judge, Johannes Sauer, will preside as mediator and referee to make all judgment calls and to keep things… civilized. In the fashion of traditional medieval tournaments, this one will test the rigor of the knights through the arts of archery, jousting, and one-on-one combat. Don’t fret, this will involve a modified version of archery. You see, in the past during quidditch matches, supporters of the team Appleby Arrows would fire arrows when cheering for their team, but in 1894, arrows were banned from quidditch when a referee was shot through the nose. Naturally, I will respect the lessons of our predecessors and provide this quaffle in lieu of an arrow. There are too many spectators at close range, and we certainly wouldn’t want to be accused of assault. Valentin smiled back at Rome, batting his eyelashes sweetly.

“The archery and the jousting are to be mounted and aerial shows of combat prowess, while the final round will be on the ground to avoid collateral damage…” Had Valentin practiced this speech with his English tutor several times in advance? Well, his impeccable delivery might suggest as much.

“I hereby challenge you, free knight Romeo Marchonné, to join me, the Knight of Sweet Secrets, Valentin Schnell, in this friendly competition. What say you?” Valentin’s eyes gazed with pure excitement back at the Italian white knight. “Are there any other true knights in attendance today?” asked Valentin, turning his head to either side to look. Was that Amina Petrovic over there, dressed as the Red Knight? Perhaps she was busy, but certainly Valentin was not about to go easy on Romeo. They both knew each other better than that. “Ah yes, and the tournament prize. We shall fight for the privilege of asking one wish from the vanquished. This wish can be anything at all, and there are no limits, as I have faith in the honorable heart of any true knight. Once the victor has been declared, winning the majority of the events, they may then make their wish known, even if the defeated granting the wish might take additional time.” Valentin nodded to Johannes, indicating that it was time to begin preparations.

“In this tournament, I will be fighting for my own wish. However, if I were to win, I hereby dedicate my resulting ritual honor to the Queen of All Candyland, Ileen Knight.” With a graceful bow to the girl in the white dress, Ileen, Valentin smiled. “Now, then, what shall be our target for this first round of ‘quaffle archery,’ honorable Judge Johannes?”

Valentin took this moment to get onto his broom, ready to take off into the sky above the other ball goers and take aim with the quaffle. He would pass the quaffle when his turn was complete.

Cielle was running late. It wasn't all that surprising, considering that it was Cielle Johansen and she was rarely ever on time. She was in an almost giddy mood, as if she'd been given a Cheering Charm but amplified by ten times. It was probably from eating a shit ton of candy. This was a particularly dangerous mood for her to be in, because Cielle was already prone to doing stupid and reckless things in the name of 'fun', but when she was giddy and extra hyped, she was even MORE likely to do something she would later regret. Still, it was a ball, not the freaking hunger games, so it wasn't like she could accidentally inflict that much harm on herself by the end of tonight. Right?

She was dressed as the Mad Hatter, evident by the colourful costume and bright blue top hat. Cielle was extremely proud of her outfit. Combinations of thrift shop finds and hand-me-downs, with the help of a little bit of sewing, had put together a decidedly Cielle set of clothes. She couldn't remember if it had been her or Jojo's idea for the Hex team to go as Alice In Wonderland characters, but whoever it was, they were a genius. It worked perfectly.

Upon entering, she looked around for friends to talk to, and instantly spotted Johannes, Romeo, and Valentin standing around chatting. Cielle made a beeline for them, half-skipping her way over to where they stood, stopping only to grab a green apple from the wooden bucket. Maybe it wasn't the smartest idea to eat an APPLE at a fairytale themed ball... whatever. It would probably be fine. [IN RUSSIAN] "Ayo!!" Cielle greeted her friends energetically and took a generous bite out of the apple. "You guys look awesome. What are we talking about?"

Cielle would not give anyone time to answer, because just as she finished speaking, she spotted a familiar person across the room. Wait, wasn't that the kid who she'd thrown a plate at like two days ago or something? "Guys, look, it's plate girl!!!" Cielle pointed at the girl (Agata) with a shit-eating grin on her face. Chances were that none of them actually knew what she was talking about. "I threw a plate at her at the welcoming thing, but it missed," she explained. "I'm gonna go say hi!" Cielle said this like it was a great idea. Deep down, she knew it was actually a really fucking stupid idea, but she was in the mood to stir up some trouble, and saying hello so someone she had tried to attack literally three days ago seemed like the perfect way to achieve that. Before anyone had the chance to contradict her or talk some sense into her, she was already making her way over.

When she reached the little trio, Cielle threw an arm around the girl's shoulder, as if they were best friends forever or something to that effect. [IN ENGLISH] "Hey, bestie!" she said brightly, taking another bite out of her apple. This was a really good apple, honestly. She smiled cheerfully at the younger girl, wondering if she would recognise her (after all, it was like a ten second encounter), and nodded in friendly greeting at the other two (Raul and Soraia). "How's it going?"

Hunter had checked everything inside his bag, taking note of one final item. He jerked a bit out of surprise as Judith called out to him, and looking up he was astonished. No matter how many times he saw Judith, he couldn't help but blush slightly upon seeing her appearance. Luckily though, Hunter was growing more out of his shyness, and was capable of speaking without stuttering with other students: "I-I'm doing well Judith, and I would have to say that you look more amazing than I ever will." I slightly stutter and quiet tone, it seems the boy still had a bit of an anxiety issue when speaking with Judith.

"Uhm, sure. I don't mind a dance. I'm also up for the petting zoo if you are as well," a slight suggestion to have fun but also with a bit of selfish drive behind it. Hunter wondered what sort of magical animals they brought in and whether he could snag a bit of fur, feathers, or quills if and were present. "I actually have this, I thought it is appropriate for the theme here. They said it was enchanted, but I'm unsure how," Hunter said with a more confident tone, reaching back into his satchel. From it, he took out the last item inside, a fairy tale tiara he had bought for the occasion. The boy had spent a lot of galleons on potion ingredients already, and a bunch of sweets. He thought it would be appropriate to purchase something for someone else. He offered the tiara to Judith, still blushing a slight rose red on his cheeks.

The boy felt happy, but also slightly worried. Many of the potions he brought today were precautions for his latest actions at Hogwarts. Hunter wasn't on the best term with a lot of students and he wouldn't be seen in good light like Judith. Worried fear and paranoia made the boy question if he really should be with such a girl. Yes, she made him feel happy. However, he was essentially putting her at risk and he knew just from her personality that she'd probably loathe the poisoning and harm that Hunter had put others in. He use to be really caring, but he could feel that side of himself drifting away day after day. Judith was a reminder to him of what it means to be kind, but does that mean he loves her for who she is or because she reminds him of something he wishes he could be like? He brushed it off, giving a smile and giving no clue about his inner thoughts. Of course, though, the looming dark shadow of fairytales crept up beside Hunter reminding him that one of his potions had another purpose if needed: "Hey, Judith. Have you heard any rumors about me? I mean, you seem like you'd hear a lot of gossip around school, and I was just curious is all."

Lily smiled as she saw Clark. "You look very nice, Clark." she said with a smile. "Should we dance or go eat something?" She asked, cocking her head slightly. She was excited to be here and couldn't wait to dance and chat and have a good time. The most exciting part is dancing. And maybe the petting zoo. Though not as much as dancing. She looked around for some people she knew. She saw Sirin, and Bailey. Colin was around here somewhere and she wasn't sure if Oliver was. Maybe not. She hadn't seen him so probably not. She knew Colin would go to Clair. Maybe she should tease him. Just make him annoyed till he wants to throw his drink at her. Which is hilarious except she's wearing a very expensive dress and that would be terrible if she got drink stains all over it. She would have to make Colin buy her a new dress after she yelled at him. He won't she knows that. He knows not to mess with Lily.
She turned her attention to the refreshment table. She was a little hungry so she most likely will go there if Clark will.

Chikao had made a bullet sprint for the beverages and food, goblet in hand full of the deep red drink. The dance-filled lights of faires illuminating the night sky made him feel even more lucid as if he were taking part in an amazing dream. Swiftly chowing down on some of the delectable sweets upon the grand feast, he couldn't help but chuckle at how amazing of a night it already was. Of course, this was only the beginning of the fun he was going to be having all night. Had he known all balls were like this with such great food and possibly drink (he had yet to try the savory-looking red liquid), he would have gone to the spring ball and enjoyed time with his friends.

Speaking of which, he lifted his head, perked, and looked around for any of said friends he may know. It was possible they were avoiding Chikao as they either had dates of their own, they knew Chikao would be up to no good, they knew Chikao would only embarrass them and their school, or they would be embarrassed by the clothing the boy was wearing. His Kimono of a rising blood moon over a forest was very fitting for the boy. In his culture, it was a sign of disaster. That's exactly what Chikao was to the entirety of Mahoutokoro and most likely going to be throughout the entire night here at Hogwarts. He held the nickname "Oni" due to his rageful nature. The crimson color of the moon on his back certainly displayed that he was a fierce individual, especially due to being rather strong in appearance from training almost every day of his life. However, there was a different issue with his attire. A set of fake wolf ears adorned his head, to go better with the ball's theme, and the moon placed on his back. It was odd for someone like him to wear it, but he didn't care. They probably looked cute in recognition that he's just a 12-year-old kid. Still, some would probably find it embarrassing to be around him with such items, and certain students could possibly be offended.

Chikao looked around, and eventually, his eyes landed on Pax Zhang, a person he recognized a while back and he couldn't help but rush towards them and give them a forceful hug: "Chibi! So this is where you've been. Tell me, do you guys get to have this much fun all year round?! Care for some of this drink?" The atmosphere was unlike anything at Mahoutokoro, and Chikao was enjoying every minute of it.

Beneath the cloak Piérre fiddled with the green scruff on his chin again, finding himself entranced by the tactile feeling once again and feeling his mind beginning to drift aimlessly from thought to thought the longer that he sat with the enchanted gramophone playing away in his ear. It was almost hypnotizing to the kid, the physical stimulation of feeling the coarse "natural" hair on his chin and face. He almost tuned out the entire world the longer that he remained hidden beneath the shimmering cloak.

That was, until he noticed a pale ghost bedecked in white feathers and blue detailing drift right next to the place he lay, stooping to observe the small depiction of the Ugly Duckling and its two families. It took Piérre a moment to remember that this was not a ghost, at least not one of Hogwarts' ghosts, but rather a real flesh and bone person that he had run into the month before. The albino who had run across him in the rehearsal room; the one who had trundled into him and who had woken him up from an exceptionally exhausted slumber. The one whose owl had somehow gotten itself stuck in the resonation chamber of his mandolin. Yeah, it had been a bit of a trip.

The boy found himself leaning forward on his elbows to fully observe her entire outfit of feathers and pale aesthetic. She looked just like a ghost... a swan... In the moonlight she appeared to almost glow. It looked... like perfection. With the music in his ear, the boy felt the world fall away into a sensation of melody, movement, and color. Watch the flutter of the feathers, the movements which subtly commanded them. The way that they looked trapped in amber, slow and deliberate yet also natural and flowing. Green eyes turned soft as he was hypnotized longer and longer by the very edges of the free-floating feathers, head tilted, leaning forward on his elbows...

Until a scream split the night.

With a start of surprise, Piérre snapped back into reality and his eyes went wide and wild, scanning his immediate vicinity for the source of the screaming. A glance through legs and bodies would reveal a clump of a crowd beginning to form near the banquet table.

Ah, so the poison apples had started claiming their first victims.

Well, it was now showtime.

With as much stealth as he could muster, the boy waited for a moment when he didn't feel as many eyes turned towards his way compared to normally. With a small click of his tongue in mental preparation, the boy then proceeded to take in hand his homemade sign he had made just for this moment, waiting once more for an opening to place it out before finally counting down from three and trying to move as quickly as possible. With the speed of a pickpocket, the boy's hand exited the safety of the Invisibility Cloak with the sign, placing it down in its smaller legs and making sure that it would remain balanced, and then quickly withdrawing his hand. This was his other job for the night; to fix and reverse the potion effects that students did not like or want. To that ends, he had on hand an undefined number of Restoration Draughts, but more than enough for everyone who had been affected by potions that they were less than fond of.

Crouching under the cape again, the boy waited for something, anything to happen. With lazy, half-closed eyes, he traced the cobble of the ground beneath him with a disinterested finger, humming along with the music as he scanned the area for anyone coming close to him or just generally anything interesting about the scene.

His eyes would track along the border of the courtyard, and with his eyes widening slightly and his cheeks paling, he would become aware of the presence of a very familiar individual with titan hair, a six foot frame, and dressed out in a "shining suit of armor". Half of Piérre simply ripped itself away from the other as he leapt towards his twin, seeing a version of himself running out and attempting to tackle his tall twin from behind while the other half stayed behind and watched on in mourning. He... It had been too long since Piérre had actually... well... seen... Romeo.

Ever since the disastrous ball last May... Out of childish stubbornness and stupidity, the boy had severed all ties with his twin in a spur of the moment action that had highly damaged him, had likely hurt his brother, and had resulted in a total falling out between the two of them. It was not one of Piérre's proudest moments, and in fact, even as soon as a few days after he had said the words and had shared them aloud, he had regretted it... but he hadn't been able to get over himself enough to go back on his word; at least not immediately.

Perhaps... he could do that now? Ignore his job for a while and try to speak with his brother again, try to explain or apologize? Make up for his stupid misstep, and then maybe they could both get over it together?

Yeah... that sounded good. That's what he would do.

No sooner had he resolved to do this than his eyes alight upon a moon-pale boy not terribly unlike Aida who was interacting with Romeo. Piérre knew this one too; the boy that he had met at the rehearsal of campfire stories. The one who had given him some chocolate frogs and who had accidentally triggered a subsequent sugar high in him. The famous Durmstrang Seeker. Valentine Schnell, right? Something like that, anyways. Curiously, he watched as the other Durmstrangian offered Romeo a hobby horse looking broom thing, and then quickly afterwards a sword. Green eyes glittered with a mixture of awe and jealousy. How effortlessly this boy commanded Romeo's attention, how nimbly he captured the taller twin's focus. Piérre recognized a competition for attention when he saw it, and this was practically the textbook example of it.

Ah, here we were once again, with Piérre unwittingly becoming the unconscious antagonist when it came to the need for the undivided attention of his brother. This had been such the case from early years, and it seemed that the condition had not improved in the slightest over the course of Piérre's 14 years of life.

So, when the boy observed the makeshift "knighting" ceremony between the two of them, something in the pit of his stomach twisted tighter than it was already, and a small bit of bile rose in his throat. Who in the hell was this person thinking that they could pull this sort of thing right in front of Romeo's twin? This anger was only inflamed as the boy witnessed a simultaneously cheek-flushing and cheek-paling scene of Valentine coyly wrapping his arms around Romeo and then deeply kissing him on the cheek. Ahahaha! Yeah, that wasn't an innocent il bacetto. No way such a kiss was so full of tension like what the boy had just witnessed. That was some other expression entirely.

Perhaps Piérre hadn't been entirely wrong when he had told Romeo all those months ago to (to put it bluntly); go back to his Russian boyfriend.

Stewing to himself over this new development, Piérre hardly noticed the other albino Aida approaching his hiding spot, seeming to have noticed the sign that he had put out offering the veiled reversal of potion effects. Pulling himself away from his outrage for the time being, Piérre listened as the girl sang out the three words that would summon him. By the second repetition, the boy felt his entire body tense up, ready to leap and bound.

As soon as the final syllable of the third word was uttered, Piérre suddenly launched out of his hiding place like a bat out of hell, throwing his cape behind him (ensuring that it would still cover the gramophone), and lunging towards the girl. Hey, she had called his name; Beetlejuice didn't discriminate. "GRRAAARR! Heeeeeyyy! Thanks for calling my name, baby!" A heavily played up accent and personality was quickly forming on the boy's face; a mask of the character that he was dressed as in his dirty black and white striped suit, grimy appearance of face and bleached green hair (and beard). Having been inspired by the movie, Piérre was trying to enact the character and his borderline sleezy character to the best of his ability, no matter how radically different it was from the boy's actual personality. "Hey, you're looking not half bad, not bad. Could use a little color, you look like a ghost already, haha!" He threw his head back. "It's not a bad crowd in Hell, you know, the ghosts. Bit of a dead crowd, but what can you do, amiright? Hehe!"

The more he slipped into the personality, the more that Piérre gradually let his anger melt away in the face of witnessing whatever the hell he had seen going on over there just a few seconds ago. He stuck out his tongue, grinning wildly. "Hey baby, I'll tell you what. If you have something up with, you know, something not feeling right, I'll help ya out. I have some potions that'll fix you right up. BUT! I don't give those puppies away for free. No sir, you gotta give me something for them, fair?" The boy teased, leaning in slightly with a raised brow. "In the one, true, Halloween fashion, you gotta give me a trick. I'll give ya a treat. Whatdaya say?" Despite himself, Piérre looked her up and down quickly. Compared to whatever that Slytherin girl had experienced with her screaming episode, Aida looked... rather sound. Was she even under the effects of a potion to begin with?

Mask slipping down for a moment, Piérre asked in his normal voice. "Didja eat one of the apples or food with apples in them? I ask because those are spiked with potions..." He asked shyly, a complete 180 from the explosive and straightforward personality he had expressed but seconds earlier. "Otherwise, you... don't really have to do a trick for me. You probably don't need a Restoration Draught... or... anything..." He trailed off as he bit the inside of his cheek lightly. "That's kind of my job here, I guess. Fixing people up. Keeping an eye out..." He spilled at last, fiddling with the ragged tie and straightening out the horrifically crooked collar of his grimy suit. He ran a hand through his wild hair again, scratching the back of his neck. "To be honest... I'm sort of just... waiting for things to go wrong at this point... they always seem to do so..." He confessed quietly, glancing quickly at Romeo and Valentine.

Was he the replacement for Piérre now?

Well, maybe the boy should have seen that coming...

A scary pumpkin headed individual came up on the both of them and began speaking haptically about a 'Yeetman', evidently introducing themselves by attempting to punch Aida. Watching this with a mixture of deep confusion and curiosity, Piérre wondered if this was an inside joke of some sort between the two of them. Wincing at the idea of such a hard looking punch coming for himself, Piérre only quirked a brow. "Looks like you got your head stuck in a pumpkin, miss fae." He stated as politely as he could. "Would you like a potion? Trick for a treat? (That was an impressive punch...)"

Hopefully he wouldn't be subjected to the same sort of greeting in the next few seconds... haha... that would hurt...

Kayla looked at Nico in an exasperated way, before whispering back, "Athena's amazing! I love her. You'll like her, too.And be nice to her, 'kay? Don't be mean. You'll like her." Kayla repeated. Deciding she didn't need to say anything else, she turned her attention away from him, and back to Athena.
"Aw, thanks!" Kayla gushed, her face turning a little red. "Wait- did you say 'petting zoo'? There's a petting zoo?Thats adorable! Kayla turned to Nico, her face glowing. "We have to go! Theres a petting zoo! We're gonnz check out the petting zoo!" she chanted excitedly, before turning back to Athena.
"By the way, have you seen Freya? I thought she was coming..." Kayla said thoughtfully, taking a moment to look around. But with the amount of people there, you couldn't really tell who was who, Kayla was sure her friend was coming, but she wasn't too sure. But only time could tell. There were even more people entering, at the moment. She scanned the people entering, and waved over Athena's head at Lily- another one of her friends, before going flat on her feet again.
"Have you guys seen the food?" she asked the, her eyes wandering over at the table of deliciousness. "Magic is too magical sometimes."

Regina Miller was a stranger to Muggle fairytales.

As a child raised with blood purist ideals, she'd only been told stories belonging to wizards, created by wizards. It wasn't until this year that hours spent reading books she found in a Muggle London library (Merlin forbid the Miller manor had any of those) supplied her with just enough knowledge to be thankfully informed. At first, it was an attempt to understand more of the 'other world', because the person she lo-liked did not come from the same world as hers. The Fall Ball hosting a fairytale theme was just a plain coincidence, but not unwelcome.

Like last April, Regina evidently gifted Faye with a beautiful gown to wear for this occasion. Herself, she chose a regal dark forest green gown and a flattering sheer cape, with a single diamond crown adorning her raven hair. Even if she was at conflict with her parents, Regina was still proud of her heritage and thus had decided to showcase the House of Miller's colours with her attire - with a marvelous fairytale touch inspired by the fairest Evil Queen. Regina might not be actually 'evil', but her name was befitting a monarch and she was, indeed, a fair young witch. The choice was perfect for the ball.

The graceful clicks of her heels accompanied Regina to the courtyard where the event was already in full swing, and she was pleasantly surprised to see how well atmosphere fit with the magical setting of Hogwarts. The decorations were outstanding. She found it hard to take her eyes off of the swans and statues as she walked towards the center where the fountain lied. There, Regina saw her pretty Ravenclaw girlfriend perched on top, sulking adorably as she waited. Lips pulled into a small, secretive smile as Regina came to a stop in front of Faye, hands clasped in front of her stomach as her cape flowed gently with her movements.

"And why are you looking so upset, hm? This is no time to frown. You should be having fun."

───────────────────────────────────────────────
─────A strange, thick haze seems to blanket itself across his thoughts as the seconds tick on. Kolya glances down at the arm held outstretched before him, then back up to the girl that had her wand raised. Huh. A slightly more familiar voice breaks through the increasingly muddled thoughts. Shifting, the first year spots Maksim suddenly beside him. He barely even takes note of the question that's posed. Is it? He's not really sure how to answer that one.

Everything suddenly seems to simultaneously move both rapidly and at an extremely slow pace. He hardly notices the spider frantically scampering away, unharmed by the spell. The young Russian can feel his heartbeat pick up as a small crowd seemingly materializes out of nowhere. It's not long after that both Maksim and the girl seem to beat a rapid retreat in almost uncanny procession. An unusual spark of annoyance flashes through his mind at the realization.

Well. This night had taken a rather weird turn almost right off the bat. It was no wonder why so many strange happenings seemed to culminate in and around the Scottish school. Not even the dances were safe it, apparently. Should have guessed as much, honestly.

Something akin to agitation seemed to weave itself into the haze of his thoughts. The crowd of students milling about were nothing but a blur of unfamiliar faces at this point. Turning from where the whole bizarre event happened, the young student does his best to shove his way through the crowd. Perhaps not as effective as he would have liked, considering most were older and bigger, but he does his best. As soon as he jostles his way free, the search for somewhere a little less crowded begins.

Spotting an offshoot path lined with pumpkins and some variety of small creatures, Kolya makes a beeline for it. Any attempts to recall exactly what his original plans for the night might have been are simply met by a fog of annoyance. Hands are shoved into his pockets, no glance spared back across the courtyard as he sets off down the trail lined with faux animals.
