Personality:
ReducioA rather lazy individual who cares very little for the opinions or judgments of fellow classmates or even teachers. He has a caring heart, especially for animals and magical creatures/beasts. He has an odd love and interest in learning the cultures and languages of other beings/beasts within the magical realm, and even the different tones used amongst human cultures. As such he's well versed in a few languages and plans to learn more. In school, his work matches just as much as his lazy personality. Chikao is a very smart and fast-thinker, but he overall doesn't care to do extremely well or extremely badly in classes. As such he does the bare minimum to complete his work, and is thus seen as lazy by himself and others; however, he doesn't care and claims that he is merely expressing his freedom.
History:
ReducioChikao Narumi was raised by his parents in a rather secluded area of Japan by a father from Africa and a mother native to the land. Both of magical blood, they had a home located between mountains and sea. Here they ran a hot spring for travelers of both muggle and wizard blood. They weren't necessarily the wealthiest family, but it was here that they all lived in a peaceful age, but there was more to this land that no muggle would be expected to notice at first. Magical beings, creatures, and beasts lived near and it was for that reason that Chikao's parents had lived in such a region. Creatures that required a place to be hidden or protected from being hunted secluded in this small region. It was their job to protect these creatures and learn from them.
Giants were one of the most notable creatures to be hunted by other wizards for reasons of secrecy or for things like childish games. In Japan, the existence of giants was noted on Honshu but was well known to be extinct. Giant bones were popular amongst wizards and witches, and it was for reasons such as this that Chikao's parents had taken the role of protecting the fascinating piece of land they lived in. They wanted Chikao to live a free life, but to also understand the importance of protecting even those who seem like they don't require it. When he was around the age of 8, his father took him on an expedition to Russia to meet the few giants that still existed. Chikao and his father lived in Russia for 3 years, to which Chikao learned about Giant culture, a bit of Russian culture, and got to bond deeply with his father. It was also the occurrence of his magical accident, in which one day he was tired and cold; he yelled at a giant for having broken the fire that kept him warm. In Chikao's rant, a new flame burst from his lips in similarity to a hot-headed dragon. From this, Chikao's father figured it was time for them to return home and have Chikao enroll in Mahoutokoro.
His first few months at Mahoutokoro was a bit odd due to his odd look in skin tone, and having interacted with magical creatures and beasts rather than people his age. Chikao at first excelled greatly in his status, achieving Dark-Blue robes rather quickly for a person his age. Many believed he would be the best of the best and would achieve a golden robe by 2nd year; however, Chikao began to have a realization. It took an immense amount of effort to keep his robes in such a good condition of dark-blue, and it was honestly something he didn't enjoy much. His grades began to drop, but he also began to enjoy life a lot more and more. Learning about people and cultures within the magic and non-magic world was something he loved more than anything. His parents gave him as much freedom as any boy would want, and from this freedom, Chikao understood that he didn't need to be the best. Eventually, his robes dropped to lavender color. For his choice in choosing lavender robes over dark-blue, many students and faculty at Mahoutokoro became upset with him. Many knew Chikao was capable of being the best, but he instead chose to be nothing more than what he wanted. As such, he began to enjoy life in ways where some would call him lazy. In the past, he would have agreed, but even back then he wouldn't care what others had thought.

It takes a Mad King to create Change. I am no King, but I pull the Chords of Insanity.

Chikao lived most of his life living with his parents surrounded by magical creatures, beings, and beasts. From this, he met beasts such as Merfolk, but most importantly his father took him to Russia to learn and meet Giants since they were extinct in Japan. The reason Chikao's father took him to meet Giants was in order for him to understand the reason why his parents worked so hard in protecting other creatures. Giants were pushed far into few tribes across the globe and thus were possibly bound for extinction just like in Japan. As well as this, Chikao's father wanted him to learn the culture of the Giants in case they ever did become extinct. From this, Chikao and his father resided in a Russian village to rest but would spend most of the day interacting with giants. From this, Chikao learned not only their customs but their language as well. On top of this, he was taught about the Russian language and a bit of their culture; to which he did not mind. It is from this experience that Chikao has developed a love for cultures and languages within both the muggle and wizarding world. His time with giants wasn't exactly a four-star experience, but it allowed him to understand the issues within the wizarding world. Giants were once strong beings who could bring fear into the hearts of many, or even be seen as divine protectors; however, it is speculation and fear that caused them to be hunted. Chikao understood empathy and learned the difficulties that many of the giants experienced. Every time he and his father traveled back and forth from the Russian village to the hidden giant tribe, it gave rise to knowing the differences between the two groups. How different and similar they both were. The language was probably the only thing that Chikao put the most effort into. He witnessed his father communicate with the Giants before, and desperately wanted to learn it just as much. The months of being beside the giants were difficult due to a lack of communication, and Chikao wanted to fix that. He studied hard and tried his very best in pronunciating the terms. It started out slowly and was very difficult especially since it was a language of a magical being. Over time though, Chikao began to develop much more simple sentences and complex ones as the three years came by. His father was impressed and was glad to see his son be so intrigued to learn another being's culture. (WC 414)

There is something that is just... not right about you. A chill in the air, a sense felt deep in the bones. The shadows might seem more lively, the night might play more tricks on your opponent's eyes. Yet there is one, undeniable truth -- the source is you.

Chikao Narumi was well known throughout Mahoutokoro as a troublesome student. Originally he wore blue robes and was one of the top students in his year. Yet, he was also known for being someone who had a short temper and for being incredibly strong. Chikao couldn't stand the amount of jealousy and talk about himself and his friends from surrounding students, and he typically responded by fighting students. Despite being a pureblood, he always relied on his own strength and fist to take care of other students. His strength was rather absurd for a student his age, and with it he brought fear to the many students at Mahoutokoro who got on his bad side.
Eventually, Chikao changed and wanted to turn a new leaf. He became tired of trying to keep his blue robes in their navy color and he really wanted to just enjoy his life. He soon gave up on trying so hard and decided to live a more tranquil and fun life. His grades dropped, as did the color ranking of his robes, and he found himself doing whatever he wanted day after day. Even though Chikao became more peaceful and lazy during his life, there was still the issue of facing other students and faculty at Mahoutokoro. Chikao still displayed intellectual capabilities, but he always chose to not give it his all when it came to his work. As such, many faculty and students became upset with Chikao and his choices and were rather enraged by them. Chikao tried his hardest to ignore everyone, but it eventually led to broken relationships and pain for himself and others.
Chikao tried his hardest to ignore everyone, and he tried his hardest to control his short temper and rage. He found going from navy blue to a lavender-colored robe was much harder than going from a lavender-colored to blue-colored robe. He soon snapped and figured he just needed to live with his rage rather than try and suppress it. Chikao still kept his lazy nature and still acted tranquil in nature. However, he began to find himself fighting students again and using his fist in multiple scenarios for students he thought deserved it. Chikao began to enjoy fighting and he soon developed a devious smile for the fights he would start or become a part of. No matter how calm in nature he appeared, a terrible and rage-filled presence could be felt from Chikao. Since Chikao caused fear in other students and he spoke the language of giants frequently, he was given the nickname "Oni" by many students who feared him. As such, he was seen as a demon who took pleasure in others' pain. In reality, Chikao never wanted to fight anyone again. Unfortunately, that wasn't a choice in his mind and he decided that the only way to make people listen was to prove that you were in fact better than them. Soon his hatred for fighting became something he enjoyed. A feat that he and everyone would fear. For sometimes he took joy in his actions where many would-be disgusted or horrified by them.

Narumi could only grit his teeth as he continued his pull-ups. Despite the pain and the slothful take of drowsiness overwhelming him and the voices of sleep attempting to overcome him, he continued to pull himself one after another. A jack of all trades was one of the worst ways to describe Narumi. Despite his intellect, despite the pure blood that ran through his veins, he just had something against the ways of magic. It didn't have satisfaction, it didn't have the accomplishing effort that he craved and forced upon himself.
25...26...27...28... The numbers rang through the boys ears, as he continued to pull himself up each and every time by himself as always. His will and drive to become strong perhaps have a correlation to having a lineage of warriors in his family, ancestral traits that survived in artifacts and decor that his mother kept around the house only inspiring and making the boy wonder what hardships his ancestors had to endure. Other possibilities that rang could be from his own mother, a fierce and intimidating woman despite her feminine physique. Even she possessed physical strength that grown men themselves would fear, and inspiration for Narumi. Unlike his mother though, Narumi did enjoy the lazy and free nature of life. When he wasn't working in the hot summer sun in his mother's garden, or working himself out or study for a few seconds, he'd of course be sleeping.
40...41...42...43... The boy continued his pulls ups, as they began to grow slower and a bit harder to pull off. No matter how much the boy slacked in everything, he never would when it came to training his body. Strength, freedom, courage, loyalty. 4 aspects that Narumi held high, as if the spirit of a warrior lived and breathed deep inside him. No matter what the challenge, no matter how hard it was, he'd increase his strength, and of course his endurance. To take every spell, bludger, and problem head on. Never swaying or backing down, his fist would be the first answer before his wand.
44...45...46...47 his breathing was almost like an unbreakable tempo, calm and steady, prepared for whatever the world had to throw at him. His strength was all he had to stop the mockery, to protect his friends, to no longer be looked down upon by the world. Even if he screwed up during hexiwizard, he would show everyone that his strength could never be matched like the giants he met long ago. He spoke like a giant, fought like a demon, and had the abnormal strength of an Oni.
48...49...50 He was obnoxiously strong because it was all he focused on. A jack of all trades was a master of none, and Narumi was a master of only one. He would never let his strength falter. Despite his young age he had the willpower to protect, fight, and prove his worth in his own way.
