It's because once you are indexed, your trunk poster is changed to Game Master and you can no longer edit it. Staff would need to edit it for you.

How does post count update? If I click on my profile it says 14, but if I actually click and count every post it's like 30+.
At first I assumed it was because it's in the same thread, but it seems like it updates for every post for other people? Or is it only for how many threads you've posted in? I don't think it's because it needs time to update, bc I just added a post to my ency and then it went up by one. (but I have posted in my ency before so shouldn't it not go up bc it's the same thread??)
I'm not stressing over it, I'm just trying to make sense of the system

Most posts are usually counted! However what you post in the game room threads (which I noticed you did) dont count! I assume you're counting you're total including those posts... try posting in your house ooc room threads

adding on what Amalie has just added. game posts don’t count towards your profile’s post count, so that’s mostly why you have 14 and but have posted over 30 times in games. Let’s Chat does count so keep chatting there if you wish to have more posts lol. for threads, the post count counts how many times you have posted in a thread. for your ency, say you posted three pages, your count goes up by three. besides games, your post count will go up every single time you post. i hope you understand better now! send me an owl or two if you need some more information; they are always open!

ahh, that makes sense! I think I just read an old FAQ that said games room and ooc chats was a good way to get your post count up, but that must've been removed since then? Or I just read it wrong lol

When I put in my ency application in the index, I read back on what got people approved, and it said you had to add spells+potions in your trunk. Is that still correct information? Because now reading this thread, I've learned that you can't edit your trunk without going through staff, so do you have to do that every time you get a new spell or potion, or is that outdated info? Sorry if I'm asking too much!

As far as spells and potions in trunk, that’s no longer a thing. Basically, you’ll if you want make a potions and spells post in your ency to keep track of your spells. All spells now go under the book tab of your inventory, so you don’t have to put them in trunk.
