Lucinia is a child of dual worlds. A half-blood with a late start. As a child, her parents never hid the truth from her and her older brother. They knew magic existed in the world and that their father had the ability but it always seemed so far out of reach. A fantasy of sorts. Magic didn't touch their world. The Thawins lived as muggles in their kitschy little three-bedroom flat -- split level. Lucky's older brother is a squib and the family assumed she would be as well. It was easy for Alatar Thawin to pack his wand and family history away. He ran a pub, his wife was a journalist. They lived normally -- until his wife died. And everything changed.

With half of the family caretakers gone, Lucky and her older brother, Mal, learned to fend for themselves. Their father was working hard, doing his best to make rent. The children learned quickly how to be self-sufficient but Lucky -- in particular -- struggled. Especially after her magic manifested. She had to take care of herself and make sure she didn't expose something that most people thought was impossible. The impossible was living inside her, magic flooded through her veins. She had to suppress a huge part of herself as well as be her own mother. Any kid would have an outburst -- or two. Despite knowing he could trust his daughter to keep herself well, Alatar knew all too well that trouble seemed to follow Lucky.

Imagine being eight years old and having to ensure your clothes were clean, to make your own lunch, walk yourself to school, and help make dinner when it was time to go home. Any shortcut one could take, you can bet that Lucky discovered it. She once created an entire alarm system so she could bake chicken, do homework, and watch tv at the same time. You know that phrase 'necessity is the mother of invention'? Well, for Lucky it goes 'getting it done no matter the circumstances is the mother of invention'.

Being born into the muggle world has already served her well besides introducing her to the best music she'd ever heard in her life. She's physically adept, learning how to be in command of her body after years of being a clumsy force. Lucky has used her experiences to survive a world she never thought she'd have to navigate. Even during a spat with other students, her first instinct was to use her words -- and eventually her fists. The thought of reaching for her wand never occurs to her as frequently as it should. She even struggles to remember some spells -- as a way to combat this little 'issue', she uses a technique she learned in her last school -- she makes up songs and even little dances for the movements.

As much as she loves magic and is enthusiastic about living in this world -- it's impossible for her to shake what she learned in her formative years. In truth, she clings to that way of life because it comforts her.

when you're 4'8 with a very big mouth and lack the ability to shut up at the right time -- you can get into quite a few scrapes. you either learn very quickly how to run and fight or you get caught or beat up. lucinia thawin didn't like the idea of being caught while making trouble and she liked the idea of being beaten up even less. so she learned to run and occasionally fight.

lucky could be described as a good kid (mostly). she did her work, turned it in on time -- even if it was done slightly haphazardly. she could even be friendly and charming. but she just couldn't seem to stay out of trouble. always needed to have the last word, overly defensive and emotional, careless in the way she spoke. she ended up in many verbal fights and even fewer physical ones but there have been enough for her to know how to defend herself. the little skinny loudmouth had a fire within her that powered her body.

lucky doesn't consider herself extremely athletic. she's not the fastest girl in the world and she's definitely not the strongest but if you bet money against her getting to where she needs to be in order to feel safe -- you'd lose. she's no coward but lucky's smart enough to know odds and she prefers when they're in her favor. she's got a thin frame, very little muscle on her body. but what she lacks in brawn, she makes up for in self-preservation. she always seems to know right when to get out of dodge or when the tides need to be turned and typically uses that to her advantage. her small form helps with that. she finds herself slipping through hands -- quite literally -- that would love nothing more than to knock her over.

this little trick she's picked up that she doesn't consider special has served her well most of her life but especially when it came to her most fevered desire: to learn how to fly. she's been learning how to handle a broom since she saw her first quidditch match at the age of ten. a beginner -- her lithe form and swift reflexes have helped her learn both balance on a broom and working speed to her advantage. she's behind many others in hogwarts but what she lacks in experience, she makes up for in determination and a predisposed tendency to lean into what her body can do.

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Prodigal DADA Learner

Reducio
It was no secret to anyone--who was patient and stubborn enough to make the effort of truly knowing the cold raven-haired witch--that Regina had a natural talent for Defence Against the Dark Arts. The young aristocrat herself wasn't surprised that the first time she had picked up a book on the subject back when she was still being tutored at home, she had been instantly drawn to the nature of the Dark Arts, as well as ways to defend against the most vicious of curses. Regina had even took great interest in learning about Dark Creatures and their history along with their relations with humans of the Wizarding World. She had been eight when her Mother had stepped into the reading room and had found her nose deep in one of the thick Advanced Defence books that she had acquired from the manor's library, her clever orchid eyes glowing vibrantly as they took in the illustrations and the enchanting words that seemed to entice her young curious mind and danced out of the pages. It was then when Louise Miller had asked her daughter why had she been so taken with the subject, to which Regina had simply responded with 'I aspire to become a talented and powerful Auror as you, Mother.'

Even before getting her first wand and enrolling in Hogwarts, Regina was believed to be destined for promising success in Dark Arts Defence. She had been expertly tutored by a retired Hit Wizard who had graduated with honours from the fabled Durmstrang Institute and was the most qualified person to indulge Regina in her desire to become more advanced than her peers in the subject. Her lessons were composed of meticulous reading combined with profound theoretical understanding of the spells' nature, and eventually, strict and extensive practical training with a placeholder wand provided by her Mother. The woman in question occasionally attended the sessions as well to transfer her own knowledge of the subject to her daughter, since she was a very experienced Auror and thus was her natural element. Even now, after enrolling in Hogwarts, whenever Regina had spare time, she chose to read ahead on every textbook that were usually required for Hogwarts student in DADA class, as they were already purchased by a very supporting mother--a form of enthusiastic encouragement for the only Miller heir that wanted to follow in her footsteps. Regina would spend nights devouring every page until the knowledge of every single hex, jinx and curse was deep-rooted in her mind.

The purple-eyed Gryffindor found very little joy in mundane things in her life, but learning DADA to become a promising Auror was something that Regina genuinely took pride in. She wanted to hone her skills to become an expert duelist as well, and perhaps then, would she finally be able to prove her worth to her unaffectionate Father.

Perfectionist

Reducio
Regina had learned from a very young age that mistakes, especially careless ones, were unforgivable for someone like her. The ideal had been drilled mercilessly into her head. She wasn't allowed to display anything but perfection in the public's eye--everything from taking care of her appearance, to the way she should dress, even the way she talked, it all had to be exemplary without fault. Such was the faith that a Pureblood heir had to endure, moreso when she had a very exigent Father whom demanded nothing but flawless manners that would not stain their family name.

Naturally, this also meant Regina's magic skills had to be nothing less but perfect.

Her preceptor had trained her to pay attention to detail and to maintain an excellent enunciation, claiming that it was incredibly important in order to perform magic spells with excellence, once she was to be attending lessons with the family tutor in the future. She wasn't allowed to fail, just like with everything else she did. Despite how this extremely high expectation had severely taken a toll on Regina's innocence and self-esteem, she had obediently allowed herself to be molded into a perfectionist, starting from writing dozens of lines on parchment everyday until her writing became elegant and cursive at the age of five. Regina had also been given several books from the Miller Manor's library to read aloud, small and simple ones at first and gradually moving on to bigger and complex ones until she could recite any passage without missing a single word when she had only been six. Then, her homeschooling years had begun with the Miller Tutor, and he had expected of her to be able to learn how to accurately pronounce every spell with precision and the right emphasisation.

The result of those lessons, as one might have guessed, inevitably shone through her studies when Regina had finally entered Hogwarts. She took great care in repeatedly chanting the incantations in her mind several times before casting them verbally. Her potion brewing skills were also unrivaled as details never escaped her keen eyes. Even her essays were revised meticulously before they were submitted.

It was clear that this ideal for perfection had been unforgivingly ingrained into the young witch's head, and though people may call it as some sort of obsessive paranoia--even going so far as to see it as an uptight behaviour, Regina would simply correct it as mere perfectionism. Scrupulous perfectionism.

Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Cat's Grace
Describe why this fits your character:

All her life, Gemima has been the very definition of a wallflower. Always watching people, but never engaging. When she was younger, she was very bubbly and friendly to others. But even then, she always had a knack for sneaking around. Over time, she got better and better at moving around unseen. She would seemingly pop out of nowhere, which often put people unfamiliar with her on edge. She could just be so quiet! It was freaky, honestly, how easily she could just blend into the background, and reappear with a moment's notice. It was a delight too, seeing the small quiet child with big, dark eyes maneuver her way around a room with a masterful air about her.

It just came naturally to her; observing people and their movements, knowing their blind spots, learning how to move her body as silently as possible. Sometimes she and her older sister, Cath, made it into a bit of a game, testing the limits of Gemima's stealth. Cath thought it was brilliant, and even coerced Gem into a short-lived life of crime. The two had the starts of a pretty good Bonnie and Clyde routine (or so it seemed in the eyes of two small children-- They mostly stole food and candy) until their mother found out and put a stop to it before they could land themselves in any real trouble.

As she got older, however, Gemima's cat-like abilities became less of a quirky talent and more of a crutch to avoid social situations. Maybe she found it easier to just watch her classmates from afar (or in plain sight), maybe she just stopped trying to interact with her peers. She's not really sure herself. Even the grown-ups changed their tune.
Instead of: "Oh my, you little rascal! Are you sure you haven't learned to apparate yet?" it's more like: "Ah! Cut that out please. It's not becoming of a lady--you must learn to approach people in a more friendly way, darling."

You probably won't be surprised to learn that those words came from her mother, who has started pushing Gemima to shed her introverted ways, and adapt to a life in the spotlight. There is an unspoken expectation to follow in her mother's footsteps. Gemima has even started to believe it too. Instead of seeing her introversion as a strength, she only sees the worst in it, and wishes that she was different. The rest of her family is so confident, so outgoing. The successful model, the aspiring quidditch player, the ministry official. She's just the invisible girl. Why can't she be more like them?

In any case, when she got to Hogwarts, Gem was ready for things to change. But she wasn't ready to let go of her catlike traits completely--She'll just push them into the background for now. Reinvent herself a little. She still defaults back to the shadows when she's especially nervous. Old habits do die hard, after all.
Perhaps someday Gemima will embrace her quiet side again. Perhaps she'll finish her schooling years as an entirely different person.

Jacob Harman is currently looking for the Golden Snitch in the stands outside of where the players are; he is trying to see if he could find the Snitch before anyone else. "I wonder where the Snitch had gone off to." He had always prided himself on being able to spot the Snitch. He had done so ever since he was a kid, and Jacob had no trouble telling his parents that he spotted the Snitch before either of the two teams seekers. Jacob thought he could see the seeker for the Chudley Cannons, look around to find the Snitch; this thing that seekers do seem to be appealing to Jacob. He wanted to seek his house Quidditch Team back at Hogwarts.

Jacob's father, a well-respected Auror, was in the stands with him; he was precisely in the best seats in the house, in the Minister for Magic's box. His mother was an employee of Flourish and Blotts in Diagon Alley. The both of them were all watching the game as the Chudley Cannons scored a goal in the match. However, Jacob focused on finding the Snitch as the seekers were trying to do, focusing all his might on finding the little gold ball.

Jacob was about to give up by the time the match was at its midpoint, and there seemed to be no end in sight; Jacob couldn't spot the Golden Snitch anywhere on the field. It was maddening to think he wanted to be a seeker but couldn't find the Golden Snitch anywhere. Jacob was losing hope, but he still had enough hope to them to spot the Snitch that he kept looking; the Holly Head Harpies then scored as the Chudley Canons were losing the match.

Jacob knew he had to find the Snitch as soon as possible because the alternative was to find the Golden Snitch simultaneously as either seeker. That would not be good in his opinion, as it would mean that Jacob's record of finding the Snitch before either seeker would break. Jacob then had a ray of hope as he spotted a gold glint in the air, but it seemed to be a false alarm as he didn't see the Snitch at first glance. Jacob was about to lose all hope and give up trying to find it when he saw the Golden glint again. He spotted the Snitch long before anyone else could see the Snitch. "I see the Snitch." He said, "Yes, I see the snitch."

Name of Ability or Race/Talent | Half-Veela

Why this fits your character |
Reducio
Celestine Devereux knew about the magical world(And how could she not, when she was utterly surrounded by it?) Was she a witch? No. Instead, she was a veela.

And she was beautiful. Yes, there was no doubt about it. Pale skin, imbued in moonlight, eyes that resembled a hurricane, long hair that shone like woven gold. The very epitome of a descendant of a goddess long gone. But no matter how angelic her complexion may have looked, Celestine wasn't fragile.

Sure, her kind was temperamental(which meant that every time she got angry, she practically turned into a harpy), but she was far from wicked. She took no pleasure from charming men(and occasionally women) into doing what she wished(though occasionally it was useful). And her family, her bloodline, that had hailed from Bulgaria, then to Greece, and that strain (how strange, she would later muse, as her world faded into black for the final time, that she would consider her dearest family a strain), found France, and they too felt the same.

So she attended Beauxbatons, excelled in her studies(especially in Care for Magical Creatures), made friends she would keep for the rest of her life, and before long found herself ready to graduate with nary a plan for the future, until she started tutoring her peer, Persephinna in her final year. And that prickly girl she had so hated before grew into a friend, and soon more(which her friends would incessantly tease her about ("That tension wasn't for nothing Celes")), until a quidditch accident took her sweetheart's life.

But time passed, and Celestine ending up pursuing a job at the ministry all because of a night at her school's library, and ended up meeting a man, Bastien Corentin, charming, sweet, slightly nerdy, and was everything she needed, the person who loved her just because she existed. So hours spent pouring over cases turned into coffee dates, to walks along the Seine, until they found a small townhouse and adopted a cat, and made it their home. And they got married, the Corentin family accepting her like their own, though she kept her own name. And before long, a small bundle of joy made their way into their hearts, until four years later, when one wrong turn of a car took the lives of Celestine and the unnamed, unborn child that should have made its way into the world.

So that was that, and what did it leave Danaë in the end? Absolutely nothing. Nothing but a side of her family that she would never meet, a mother that she would never get to grow up with. A faded promise of sunshine and a townhouse by the banks of a river. And so she would look into the mirror, look at her hair, at the face that everyone so often said reminded them of the mother she would never meet, with nothing but regret, and the stirring of something unnatural, because she wasn't a pure blood, but she wasn't veela, so what was she?

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

When she was born, Linh was a young girl like any other.
She always has been.
But his physique sometimes showed some small changes that no one noticed.
It could have been her hair changing a bit in color or length...
Or his eyes that took on different colors over time.
But one day, during an intense sadness, Linh noticed that she was taking on a gray hue.
As if she was depressed and that feeling reverberated throughout her body.
When she finally calmed down, her skin resumed an almost normal hue, although a little paler.
Linh never suffered from her regular transformations, as these always happened at times when she was alone.
But if she had ever told her parents, they would have been scared!
What would you do if your child announced to you, in one way or another:
-And dad, mom, look, I can turn into a grandfather !
I'm not sure you'd take it well...
What she didn't know was that her mother also happened to be a metamorphmagus.
So Linh was half a metamorphmagus.
Her parents, if she had told them, would therefore not have panicked at the fact that she could change her form.
But Linh was like that.
Besides, whenever she was alone, she practiced changing her appearance.
It was fun.
She liked to change her hairstyle, the color of her eyes...
As the years passed, the young girl learned to master her power.
When she finally received her letter of admission to Hogwarts, she was overjoyed.
Of course, she was already aware that her parents were wizards, but she couldn't know that she was a witch too, although certain events could have given her a clue.
Anyway, let's not dwell on that, so when she received her letter for Hogwarts and presented it to her parents who were delighted, her mother finally decided to show her his power.
She took the form of Linh and she decided to tell them in turn that she could change her appearance, turning into a grandmother.
Which only increased the joy of his parents.
Linh spent the end of the holidays exercising her power, learning to control her.
From now on, the young girl can learn to control her emotions as well as this extraordinary capacity that she transforms her.
She tries to use it only for good reasons, not to scare or enter forbidden places under another guise.
Of course, this power sometimes poses a problem for him, but not a big one.
Linh's makeovers still happen quite often when she happens to be alone.
But his eyes sometimes continue to take on different shades, which no one notices.
Anyway, his metamorphoses had always been very discreet.
Linh is always careful that her makeovers don't run into danger.
She doesn't like to be stared at strangely, and hopes she won't be the only metamorphmagus at Hogwarts, though she knows no one will mistake her for a "weird" girl.
But Linh is indeed a metamorphmagus.
She does not mind...

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for:Part Goblin

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Judith was born into a small family, a muggle mother and a Wizard for a father. Before the family ever thought of having children, the father did want to discuss some things with his wife. The fact that he was half-goblin, which wasn’t really noticeable, altho he was rather small for being a man, but it still was barely noticeable, any child they had would be a 1/4 goblin. But after having this discussion, his wife Madelaine had no issues with this, she thought he was beautiful in his own way, and so would be their children. Once they got Esther, they knew she was part goblin, but no signs were showing yet. Which the father was rather happy about, he loved himself, but his goblin being had always been a part he was rather ashamed of. But Esther was healthy and that is all that counted for them.

One day, Judith's mother noticed that she had been low on energy, feeling exhausted really fast. She even felt a bit bigger, and she knew her eating habits were the same. When she saw the muggle doctor, they told her she was expecting a second baby, but the baby was rather small which concerned the doctor. After running some tests he noticed that the baby was perfectly healthy, but it was just really tiny. Judith's mother had been pregnant for almost 5 months, and it was barely noticeable because the baby was so tiny. And so she gave birth after 9 months, and ever since someone saw the baby they would say, "Oh that is a tiny tiny baby!" And so Judith's father started to feel guilty, after a while, seeing doctors who kept repeating to them that their baby was rather small, they knew Judith had gotten more of his Goblin genes. But Madelaine was happy that her daughter was perfectly healthy. At the age of 5, Judith had grown bigger, she was still the tiniest of her class, and her friends, and practically everyone she knew around her age, but at least, it wasn't that extreme anymore.

When she turned 6 her father decided to teach her Gobbledegook, it was the language all Goblins spoke, he had learned it from his mother, and now he would pass it through to his daughter. After a few years of learning, Judith could speak a decent amount of Gobblegook. Her father had taught them many things she needed to know about being a goblin, about how they rule the bank at Diagon Alley, and how they had the possibility to make wizarding money. And about what she was not allowed to do, her father had told her it was better to keep her goblin side for herself or share it with other goblins only, and that she would notice fast enough who was a goblin and who wasn't. And to not speak Gobbledegook in muggle/wizard surroundings, it was meant to be for Goblins only, and she had to make sure it stayed that way.

Despite a lot of fear coming from her father, her father and mother were still very proud of who she had become and how her Goblin side had developed through the years.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Parselmouth

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): Kim had always been a very inquisitive child, even when he was first born. He kept trying to roll away and explore as a baby, which made his parents have to constantly go on the search to find him. Kwan, his mother, had been a Gryffindor and Hiro, his father, had been a Slytherin. They had met at Hogwarts and shared a forbidden romance, as Gryffindors and Slytherins tended to have a mutual dislike for eachother. Kwan preferred owls as pets, whereas Hiro preferred snakes. It was only during Hiro's 5th year that Kwan found out he was a Parselmouth and discovered that all the men in his family's line had inherited that particular ability for some reason. She took the revelation pretty well and didn't seem scared about it, probably because she had already established a relationship with Hiro and trusted that he wouldn't fall into darkness. And their relationship only became stronger because of her trust in him.

Despite all their differences, they somehow ended up together in the end and created a beautiful child from their union. As Kim grew up, his parents slowly started to become busier with their respective professions, due to them having taken time off to care for him when he was first born. Kwan was a talented Animagus (cat) and Hiro was a talented Dragonologist Conservationist. As a result, Kim tended to be left to his own devices much of the time, with house elves, servants and a new caretaker who became responsible for the mansion. The caretaker also was entrusted to look after Kim but as Kim was a precocious child, she usually let him do whatever he wanted as long as it didn't seem as if he was going to get hurt in the process. He also seemed to prefer being alone.

It was around this time that he started playing with Fukuro (his mother's owl) and Hebi (his father's snake). As time passed, he grew to realize that although Fukuro didn't talk back to him, Hebi did and started to spend more time with Hebi. Because his parents were usually quite busy, and sometimes didn't even come home for months at a time, they didn't realize what was going on between Kim and Hebi for awhile. As for the caretaker, she didn't seem to notice either as whenever Kim talked to the pets, she wasn't usually around. Soon, Hebi became his best friend and Kim began to think of him as the most important thing in his life when it came to living things. Soon, he didn't go anywhere without him.

This continued for awhile, with Kim progressing from just talking to Hebi to talking to garden snakes as well. He'd gotten interested in all breeds of snakes after Hebi had told him there were various types besides him. One day, Kim was sitting out in the garden playing with a lot of the little snakes who were slithering all over his body. Some twined around his wrists and ankles, while others wrapped around his waist and neck. He was smiling and laughing until one of the groundskeepers happened to see him and raised the alarm. A few servants came over to 'save' him and tried to rip the snakes off him. Kim got mad at how they were treating his precious new friends and yelled at them. He also warned the snakes to 'run and hide' so they wouldn't get caught and possibly hurt in the process. His yelling caught the caretaker's attention and she came onto the scene just in time to hear Kim hissing in a snake-like manner. It was kind of scary.

As a result, the caretaker reported this new development to Kim's parents. Although, Hiro wanted to come back instantly and check up on the nature of his son, he had special work to do and couldn't get away at the time. So, it fell to Kwan to give him a report on their child. Since Hiro was a Parselmouth too, he'd told Kwan what to look for, in case that was indeed what this was. Kwan returned home around dinner just in time to hear a strange hissing sound coming from the direction of Kim's room. She opened the door to see Kim talking to Hebi on his bed, Hebi curled up at the edge of his bed and seemingly talking to him. Kim had definitely inherited Hiro's talent.

Part of her was proud, but at the same time another part of her was nervous. She didn't know how others would see and treat Kim if they knew he was a Parselmouth, because most Parselmouths were associated with bad wizards. There had been a chance he wouldn't have become one because just because his father was one, but then again Hiro's family line had all inherited the ability if they had been males. The worst thing was that as a Parselmouth it would be hard to hide it at Hogwarts, since secrets always tended to come out eventually, unless Kim was very careful.

Once Kwan and Hiro discussed Kim becoming a Parselmouth, they had a talk and explained the matter seriously to him. He was probably already going to be looked at suspiciously by some because he was a pureblood, but if they knew he could speak Parseltongue too... Hopefully, he could find others who were Parselmouths at school. Hiro had found others who were the same as him during his time at Hogwarts and was positive Kim would be able to do so too. Kwan was a bit more paranoid that someone would find out and bad things would befall her son but Hiro had faith that whatever happened would happen for a reason. The talk ended with Kim promising he wouldn't reveal his talent to anyone at Hogwarts, not unless they revealed they were Parselmouths too. But Kim had been brought up to never trust others easily as his parents had told him time and time again that everyone was always out for themselves. And they always had an agenda and would most likely do anything to achieve it.

Kim continued to talk to Hebi all the time at home, as well as the other snakes. But after awhile, Kami came into the picture. Oddly enough, he was only able to save the baby owl because of Hebi, as Hebi had told him there was a hurt baby owl outside at the time. And then from then on, Kim's time was divided into spending time with Hebi and the other snakes and Kami, who needed his help all the time in the beginning. Until eventually, he got his letter from Hogwarts.

When Kim speaks to snakes, his eyes tend to widen and narrow at the same time and become serpent-like. His eyes literally change shape and resemble a snake's eyes. When he's done talking to it his eyes return to normal again. Other than this, there are no noticeable changes in his mannerisms or appearance.[Mod edit: change of appearance is not part of our lore]

I feel with my physique and ability I might be good at this. I tend to play for not only myself but also the team. So I think having this ability would make me more useful to the team. I feel that if I am selected at the position of a beater I can use something that would help our team as a general and not only myself. I believe in helping my team. It will help my team to get an upper hand when playing a Quidditch game. I feel that I would be more useful with this ability. I want to help my team win the games. I want them to be able to have a good upper hand. I would do anything to help my team out. So that I can be a useful member of my treasured team. I want my family and friends to feel proud of me. I want to show my friends back home that I can do things that is needed to win without using foul measures. I don't believe in cheating. I feel I would do things on my own and use best of my abilities. I want them to see me for what I have truly done and not something that is false and dishonest.

I feel that if I had this ability it will help me grow and in a different direction. It will help me be a better Quidditch Player. It would not only help me but also help my friends and teammates. I feel that I would help my house to get the quidditch cup. I also feel that it will help me get stronger as I would have to hit the ball really hard. I really hope that this ability helps me in winning the games that I play. I also feel that it would help me grow and help me become developed in more ways that I see currently. I feel that I would not only make my family happy but also my teammates and house mates. I feel that it will help me become more of an efficient person. I want them to be proud of me. Most importantly my family and friends. I want them to see that I am going towards the path of what I was thinking to achieve. I want to make them happy that I am developing in the way that they would want me to. I want them to be happy and proud of me.

Lying, cheating, scamming. It was a process that ran in the Goodwin family. Lying their way up the ranks, cheating, and manipulating others for power. Not the kindest thing to do, but the family had been doing it for generations. Little Vienna wasn't exactly an exception, either. Sure. She hated her family, the way they lied, how corrupt they were. But she was still a Goodwin, it was still in her blood. It wasn't anything she could suppress, no matter how hard she tried. Of course, she never went to the same lengths as a few of her family members. But what was life without a little bit of harmless cheating?

Vienna had been lying and causing trouble since before she even learned how to walk. It was never anything she learned, a habit she picked up as she grew. The girl was practically born with it. Again, it was probably in her blood. Of course, every child lied. But not to the lengths Vienna would. And at least, most innocent little children would admit their wrongdoing. But not Vienna. If she didn't break the vase, that was that. You'd never get anything else out of her, no matter how hard you tried. She was a natural-born liar, a stubborn and sneaky one too.

Eventually, the lying evolved into cheating. It was a concept Vienna instantly took a liking to. Cheating, a process that took lying, something she was already insanely good at, and gave it ten times more benefit. It started when her grandmother began forcing her into charms tutoring. It was honestly probably the most dreadful moments in Vienna's life, her tutoring. Every lesson seemed so boring, especially since she could never actually cast the spells herself.

And the worst part? She had to actually do things. It wasn't a sit and listen type of thing. She had to memorize things, answer questions, and the most dreadful aspect, homework. Physical pieces of parchment she'd have to scribble answers down on after each session. Of course, there was no way Vienna was going to actually do the work. She was a firm believer of the statement, work smarter, not harder. So like everything else in her life, she'd find the easy way out, which usually involved her special talent. Lying.

The thing was, her cousin, Annalise, was only a year younger than her. The two took quite similar lessons, and even if Annalise was a year behind, she paid enough attention in her lessons to tackle Vienna's concepts. So, she begged her dear cousin to do her work for her, or asked to copy off her notes. Of course, it worked, and soon, the majority of Vienna's work was cheated off material. But still, she never got caught. She was no stranger to how good she was at lying, at getting away with things. The girl became blind to the consequences, and soon cheating became like breathing to her.

She knew what people said. How cheating was presented in society as a terrible thing that would just end up hurting you in the end. For Vienna, cheating just benefited her. As long as she didn't get caught, nothing bad really happened. She knew all the sayings were just propaganda to convince people they were bad people for cheating. But Vienna wasn't exactly a good person anyway. Plus, she was really good at getting out of the consequences if she ever did get caught.

And, if she was going to be honest, she quite enjoyed cheating. She enjoyed the rush, the pride when she got away with something. It made her feel like she was on top of the world, that everybody else was blind to her shenanigans as she fooled them again and again. She liked the feeling of control, of being at an advantage. That was honestly the main reason why she did it. But the victory and benefits that came with it were good too. It was a win-win, really.

For a concept that was presented as something so terrible and unforgivable, Vienna found that bending the rules brought her nothing more, than victory.
