Hufflepuff vs Slytherin - Spring 2024
SPECTATOR THREAD FOR QUIDDITCH
QUIDDITCH - HUFFLEPUFF vs SLYHERIN - SPRING 2024
Searing rays of sunlight filter through the parting clouds, cascading over the grass-covered ground in sparkling rays. The warmth of the rays radiates off the grass and reflects off the surface of the walls of the castle this afternoon.Date: Saturday, May 11 2024
Time: 16:00/4 PM
Weather: sunny, warm & pleasant
Moderator: Ethan Smith
The speaker holds the microphone with his warm hand, a smile plastered on his face as that same sunlight is reflected onto it. His eyes scan around the stands , the two houses proudly waving their flags. “Attention students of Hogwarts!” the crowd cheered as the speaker's words echoed across the pitch, “Both teams have performed admirably during winter and fall games! and now, it's finally here—the moment you've all been waiting for!”
As the excitement mounted, he paused dramatically, taking in the voices of the crowd. “May I present to you...”
“HUFFLEPUFF!” the players emerged, the audience cheered even louder. Their yellow-colored clothes are striking in the spring sunlight.
“And...” he paused again, gently lifting a finger as the audience erupted in cheers. “SLYTHERIN!” his voice rises over the cacophony of the crown. The players then appeared, wearing the green and silver slytherin clothes.
Their cheers drown out any and all other words the speaker might say , “And now, ladies and gents, without further ado, let the game... BEGIIIIIIIN!!!!!!!!”

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin - Spring 2024
Tommy was watching the match with excitement. The thought that one day he could be on that field filled his mind. He wanted to play quidditch for his house and, prior to this match, had wanted to be a chaser. After seeing how the chaser can score (which is exciting) he couldn't help but notice that beaters had a more of an aggressive job.
Yes, he wanted to cheer on his house, but one Hufflepuff beater really caught his attention. She had dirty reddish brown hair, rather short, and from the glimpses he could make out, had pale skin. Her team work with the other Hufflepuff beater sent our beater to the ground. Tommy could not believe his eyes. He had heard tales of the Slytherin beater being THE beater of Hogwarts, yet she was crushed before his eyes.
Tommy reflected on his goals for quidditch. He had wanted to be a chaser, but then he realized he could also be a beater. A beater role seemed more important than he thought at first. A good beater could take out other dangerous players, which in turn would keep your teammates safe. Tommy felt a little conflicted inside. On one hand, he was beyond impressed with the Hufflepuff beater. On the other hand, she was from another house and facing his house. If Hufflepuff won, would it look good for Tommy to talk to her? If Slytherin won, would she even want to talk to him? Maybe beaters were more aggressive in nature.
Tommy thought about this as the match continued. He reflected on his past; he had been bullied and hurt by others a lot. Would it really be wrong of him to use violence if it meant protecting others? Tommy knew he could take a hit, given he had taken many from other kids growing up. Tommy typically avoiding conflict at all costs, but the idea of being the one to cause the pain rather than being the one in pain was tempting to Tommy, especially if he could frame it in a way that he felt was morally correct. He was a gifted liar, after all, and lying to himself would make for great practice. Tommy had decided he would wait outside the Hufflepuff player's gate after the match to meet the beater.

The day was peaceful and all seemed right with the universe.
The air was calm and peaceful not even the loud ruckus of excited children could disturb the peacefulness that enveloped the area.
At least that was what Aleksandra had thought. After all today Aleksandra figured she would be attending the quidditch match to support Remedy by watching the game not only that to support her house as well.
Of course Aleksandra was not expecting the raven hair viperess to play during the match unless something came up.
Part of Aleksandra hoped that she could see Remedy zoom around on a broom but the other half felt a deep pit of fear and anxiety hoping nothing horrid happened to the young girl.
Aleksandra scanned the stands of the quidditch pitch. The young girl adorned her school robes but underneath the young girl wore a forest green turtleneck half sleeve shirt along with a pleated moss green skirt. While her knee high socks were more of a forest green matching her shirt. While her obsidian black loafers rested comfortably on her feet.
The girls platinum blonde hair shimmered as the sun's rays rained down upon the girls figure illuminating as the platinum locks cascaded down Aleks shoulders in little ringlets. Her gray eyes dull with a hint of excitement as the young girl examined the quidditch pitch looking for a certain Ravenette haired girl.
Aleksandra examined the stands as she made her way weaving in and out of the throng of students that seemed to be in the rather short girls way.
Making her way closer to the front of the stands. Aleksandra looked around as the quidditch teams seemed to make their way onto the pitch.
A bubble of excitement filled the pits of Aleksandras stomach. As if butterflies were running rampant in her stomach.
The young girl leaned slightly on the rails as she focused entirely on the match that was going on before her.
The match had just begun but even Aleksandra was having a hard time keeping up.
With how fast things started to move Aleksandra had no idea what to think or even expect at this point. She knew one thing she was definitely concerned for Remedy.
Aleksandra could feel her knuckles turn slightly white as she focused solely on the match.
The match had just begun, but it already brought a very anxious feeling to the young girl. The game could be a win or loss but for the sake of a certain Raven haired girl Aleksandra hoped for the best.•───⋅⋆⁺‧₊☽⛦☾₊‧⁺⋆⋅───••───⋅⋆⁺‧₊☽⛦☾₊‧⁺⋆⋅───••☽༻¨:·. ──── ₊☽◯☾₊ ──── .·:¨༺☾•Stats

Astra had come here with the expectation to cheer on Slytherin and one singular Hufflepuff. She had also come with the expectation that she would be bringing the aforementioned Hufflepuff chocolates in the Hospital Wing from Erin Ryan induced injuries.interactions : @Tommy Patterson

So far everything except the cheering part was kind of flipped on its head, with the Hufflepuff beaters brutally taking out both Ryan and Rainwood, but that meant Uly was sent into the fray as the lone snake beater of his first official Quidditch match, but the lad was lucky in that unofficial match a few months ago, so surely luck would be on his side again?
With the loss of Avery Chen, one Remedy Norden, an enigma and a pupil and hopefully a friend if Astra played her cards right, was also launched into her first game with no such prior preparations as Ulysses. However, the snakes were faring well in terms of quaffle and hopefully Snitch, given the talent of Palmer.
Alyssea hadn't died yet so that was also really good.
Astra, in her very green attire to show utmost support for her house, glanced around the stands for the first time, spotting Tommy and Aleksandra. She waved to them both. Then, picking up her bag of sticky caramels, she made her way through the seats to sit by Tommy.
"Hi! Enjoying the match?" she asked, holding out the bag to him. "Want a caramel?"

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin - Spring 2024
Tommy felt a wave of embarrassment flow over him. Last time he saw Astra, he had what he deemed an ever-lasting first impression of being a crybaby. To try to save any face he could, he was determined to make this interaction more normal. He reached for the caramel the girl offered. "Thank you for the sweet treat." Tommy eyed it for a moment. The only other times he had been offered candy was when there was some sort of trick to it. He didn't want to seem mistrusting of the girl, so he popped the candy into his mouth. It really was just a simple sweet treat.
"I really hope Slytherin wins, but do you know who that beater is?" Tommy asked, pointing to Avery McCall, a Hufflepuff he was set on meeting after the match. Tommy decided to open up to Astra a little, " Prior to this match I wanted to be a chaser, but after seeing the damage she's done I want to be a beater like her, or dare I say, better."
It felt like the match had only just begun, but Slytherin had already caught the snitch and secured the victory. Despite the short match, many students had been knocked off their brooms. Beaters were a forced to be reckoned with. He wanted to become that force.
In all the excitement of the match being over, Tommy forgot to even cheer and celebrate with his house. He was off to where the Hufflepuff players would exit the stadium. He had a beater to meet, Tommy hoped, despite the loss. The beater wouldn't see him as meat, a fresh face to demolish in future matches if, not when, he made the Slytherin team.
What Tommy did not consider was how him running away in Slytherin's moment of victory would look to his housemates. Hopefully, no one would notice, especially Astra, who had already had one bizarre interaction while spectating sports due to him.

Astra tore her eyes away from the field to find where Tommy was pointing. His finger followed Avery McCall, Hufflepuff racing captain and Quidditch beater. Funny that both racer captain badgers were beating other people's brains out in Quidditch. Must be the rocks.
"Oh, yeah, McCall? She's cool. Quite sporty. Racing captain as well as first-string Quidditch." She rolled the wrapper between her palms.
"My aunt was a beater. She really enjoyed it, said it was cathartic in the midst of the bloody mess that was the ninties." Aunt Aces hadn't said that, specifically, but it was definitely what she thought. A sideways glance at Tommy served to guage his physical aptitude. "I'm sure you'd be good at it. Sturdy, strong. Just as long as you can fly well."
The match was coming to a swift close. Alyssea threw an elbow at Dan, only to be caught. As her cousin completed the penalty lap, Astra noticed how Ulysses was knocked clean out of the sky as Palmer grabbed the snitch. Oh, the boy couldn't catch a break.
Remedy, on the other hand, fared nicely against her bludger. It was wonderful to see teaching pay off. Unlike with a certain other, but he was an interesting case.
Astra cheered as the house of snakes was declared victorious, turning to Tommy- where did he go? She looked for him, albeit not very thoroughly, before shrugging it off as excitement to talk to the team. Speaking of, congratulations for Alyssea for her survival were in order, as well as any snakes she happened to meet along the way.
