Both of Edith's parents are pure-bloods, making her a pure-blood as well. They live in London where Edith's father works at the Ministry of Magic. Her mother is a socialite and oversees the running of the household. Shaped strongly by her parents' social standing, Edith has spent her childhood in London and on various trips abroad. As far as she can remember, it has always been expected of her to be part of the family legacy and to uphold the Sheridan reputation. At her age, this mostly consisted in attending any and all functions with her parents. It did not take long for Edith to figure out that people listen to her one time mainly because of who she is and completely disregard her another time for the same exact reason.
Making friends in these conditions, therefore, never came easily to her. She played her part, ran off with the other children present at functions when allowed, but she rarely considered any of them her friends. They were merely all in the same boat, some enjoying it more, some less.
Her uncle from her mother's side used to work as an auror prior to her parents' marriage. Once married, her father managed to utilise his connections to ensure her uncle's promotion in the department. Unfortunately, as the promotion landed him in the office rather than in the field, her uncle started looking for ways to spice up his work life, including taking bribes. He managed to fly under the radar for several years before the Ministry caught on. Edith was barely 8 at this time. A drawn-out legal process followed and by the end of it, her uncle was laid off, bringing shame onto her family's name. (Or at least that's how her father always painted it.) Not long after, her uncle decided to part from the family altogether and disappeared before any further punishment could be carried out.
In the aftermath of this, Edith was placed under even more scrutiny. Her family fought tooth and nail to sever any and all connections to her uncle, and to distinguish themselves as honourable with her father developing closer and closer relationship with all his connections. Every care was taken to renew the Sheridan name.
Now, 4 years later, the unseemly dealings of her uncle lie mostly covered up in the Ministry's registry, but her father remains in constant fear of them being dredged up again should any social misstep occur on their part. Edith never fully understood the ramifications of her uncle's actions. She did learn one thing, however - if there is something that you want and think you deserve, you must fight for it with any means necessary.

When Edith was 6 years old, her parents brought her to one of the functions they regularly attend, and at her young age, she was very quickly released to play around with a group of other children. It was a long evening but she was having a good time. Their whole group was running around, nicking food from trays, and exasperating every adult whose path they crossed. As the evening trudged on, their games grew wilder and wilder, until it happened. Locked in a loud game of hide and seek, Edith slipped into one of the rooms adjacent to the main ballroom and hid in a wardrobe there. She never expected anyone to find her there. Suddenly the door flew open at the hands of one of her friends, and she shrieked in absolute shock. The sounds itself was barely louder than stern speech, but that meant little to one of the mirrors in the room which immediately exploded into tiny pieces all over the floor. Needless to say, her parents kept her on a very tight leash at any functions from then on.

Character Statistics: ST 8 | EV 7 | STR 4 | WIS 5 | AP 3 | ACC 8
Character Backstory: While Roman's parents aren't abusive... they aren't exactly perfect, either. Both were Slytherins in their time at Hogwarts, and so were each of their parents, and their parents, and, well, you get the idea. In the centuries the Burnett family has attended Hogwarts, each and every one has been sorted into Slytherin. They made this no secret that that is what they expected of Roman (and his 8 year elder twin brothers, Ethan and Asher). Growing up, Roman never had much room to breathe. Every decision he made wasn't really his, it was his parents'; from the way he dressed and spoke, where he went to school, who he was "friends" with, and even what hobbies he had. He was, and still is, constantly being compared to his brothers, who were both in Slytherin, harvesting a bit of resentment towards the older boys from Roman's side. Mum and Dad show him love not from warmth or genuine adoration for their son, but for achievements and things he accomplish that fit their mold of a good young wizard. On top of that, the Burnetts are extremely well off and throughout Roman's childhood he was forced to attend hundreds of meaningless high-standing events and act like someone completely different. All these things have made it so that Roman has difficulty opening up to someone or even sharing an interest of his in the fear that it will be shunned immediately or he'll look stupid. And Roman's parents didn't react too well when he got sorted into Hufflepuff, to say the least. They continue to make it clear he's weak and has let down the entire bloodline with his nonsense.
First Instance of Magic: Roman was 4 years old, and his parents were off doing who knows what, leaving him with just his preteen brothers. Next thing he knew, Ethan and Asher whisked him off to their mum's bathroom and begun applying lipstick, mascara, blush, anything they could find onto their little brother. Roman resisted and resisted but couldn't break free- he finally got so sick of it that dozens of makeup appliances started hurtling around the room, smacking his brothers repeatedly and causing them to flee, screaming and clutching their faces. Roman's still rather proud of this moment.

Lily grew up always switching from Japan, where her dad worked and India, where most of her family lived. Though she was an American citizen, as her birth was early, and she was on vacation and there wasn't time to go to India for it, she loved Indian and Japanese culture. She went to a muggle school as her parents felt it was important to have a knowledge of both the muggle and wizarding world so she would have a choice where to build her future when she grew up. Her father worked in the department of magical law enforcement and her mother was the head chef in the most reputed restaurant in the town she lived in. As a child, she was able to do surprising things (which she only knew was magic when she was six) and even got the hand of controlling it. She loved nature and would spend a lot of time in her family's garden. Her family was south Indian and spoke Kannada, yet decided to name her with an english name so as to mix in in America, as she was still a citizen there and the UK as she lived there for some time. Lily had had a wonderful life in both the countries and thought her life couldn't get any better after she had moved to the UK when she was nine and lived in the nicest city until she learnt to control the weird things she somehow could do and learnt it was magic and got the admission letter to Hogwarts.

Lily was learning how to cook when she was six 'Mysore Pak', an indian sweet with her grandmother, when she accidentally spilt the hot batter on her hands. Normally, she would have ended up with a really bad burn, but her hands were perfectly fine. She concluded it was magic and was ever so excited.
STATUS: Pending, Lawrence Maynard, 31st July
Reasons for Pending:
- Your stats currently add up to 41, they can only add up to 35
- To attend Hogwarts you must live in the United Kingdom. Currently it is unclear from your biography if you have ever lived in the UK at all. You claim to have American citizenship because you were born there but give no reason as to why you were there and Indian/Japanese due to your parents but neither of these are in any relation to the UK.
- We do not allow parents to hold jobs that only one person could have and thus your father could work in magical law enforcement but you cannot claim him to be the head for an entire country. This is because it could cause inequality between players.
-Your trunk should not have a spells or potions section as that no longer is how we record them on site. You also shouldn't add abilities in until they have been applied and approved for. Please remove these things.

NAME: Roderick O'Reilly
SCHOOL YEAR: First Year
PROFILE CARD CHANGES: N/A
SPECIAL RACE: N/A
LINK TO ENCYCLOPEDIA PAGE: Here ya go
STATS:
Roderick was raised in Stockton Heath, a slightly more affluent area of a decidedly not affluent county: Warrington. He was a happy baby, with loving parents and a loving home. Before his schooling began, Roderick would storm into any room and take charge of it with his unbridled joy and luster for life. Such enthusiasm was disliked on the whole by his classmates once he began his schooling, and was subsequently hazed out of him. His parents, Anastasia(Pureblood Witch) and Mitchell (Muggle) despaired of this change, but could find no route to change it, eventually settling on the idea that Hogwarts would be the place to uncork those happy feelings that had been sealed so long ago.
FIOM:
Roderick's first (and only) display of accidental magic came as a form of self-defence. He had been travelling home from school when he was accosted by a group of schoolyard bullies, who had decided to take their act from a vocal level to a physical one. Surrounded and attacked by the lot of them, Roderick panicked - one minute a group of them loomed over him, the next they were all a few yards away, having been dumped onto their backsides. Roderick ran home and explained what had happened to his parents - his Father seemed relieved that he had finally defended himself, but his Mother furiously castigated him for "using magic on those unable to defend themselves or even comprehend such a thing!"
It remains the only time his Mother ever raised her voice to him.

Character Backstory: Katelyn was born in the bustling coastal city of Brighton to her witch mother, Juliette Magnolia, and Muggle father, Arthur Magnolia. Katelyn lived a Muggle life, going to primary school, playing on her PS5 when she was done with homework, and playing with friends. She'd go to the beach with her parents and run across the sand without a care, even if her parents always scolded her for getting sand in the car. She was liked enough by her peers; she wasn't a star student in the classroom, but she got good enough grades. Her life was average, it was simple; she liked that-until it wasn't so simple. It started when she was around 5. Her mother would constantly ask her if she had noticed any strange occurrences happening around her, things she couldn't explain. Katelyn didn't understand what her mother meant by it, and she didn't get why her mother kept pushing. But then, when she was 8, it finally happened, and everything made sense then. The fallout of her first instance of magic would forever leave an impact on her. She still remembers sitting in her room, listening to her parents argue for what felt like hours. She still remembers her father calling her and her mother freaks before hearing a bunch of doors slamming. Katelyn remembers peeking out of her room to see her father with a suitcase; he barely bothered to glance at her as he got into a taxi and drove away. Her mother sat her down that night and finally explained what she was, that she was a witch, and that there was a whole society of wizards and witches, and that magic does exist, and Katelyn herself was capable of using said magic. Her mother even proved it by levitating a book off the coffee table. This had left her relationship with her mother rocky at best and with her father completely ruined. She was more than happy to be accepted into Hogwarts so she could go somewhere to learn all this magic, as well as be away from her mother while she tried to figure out how to feel about her mother and the secrets she kept from her.
First Instance of Magic: Katelyn was playing a difficult game on her PS5, her parents watching fondly as she struggled to complete a difficult level in the game she was playing. After failing for the 5th time, in a fit of anger, she slammed her controller onto the floor, and suddenly, both the curtains on the window near them lit on fire out of nowhere, and the PS5, along with the TV in front of her, short-circuited and broke suddenly. This was what her mother was waiting for; she also knew this meant she couldn't hide what she and their daughter were. Her mother had Katelyn and her father leave the room while she cleaned up the mess. She had used the charm Aqua Eructo to put out the fire, and then used Reparo to fix the curtains, but sadly, she couldn't salvage the electronics.

Character Backstory: Theodore Elias Valdemar Ashbourne was born on Christmas Eve of 2013 to become the first and only child of Elias Cornelius Reginald Ashbourne and Isabelle Seraphina Ashbourne, née Harrow. Growing up in the Salisbury Mansion commissioned by his father when the man was in his early thirties, Theodore was surrounded by luxury and tradition. His father, a master tailor and head of a multi-million pound business empire, did his best to ensure that his son grew up in a loving home, much like the one his own father provided him. It was not always possible, given that he and his wife were often busy managing their business, but they made sure to set aside time for their growing son. At the very least, they tried to be home every Sunday so they could go to Sunday Mass at St Osmund's, after which they'd usually travel somewhere. Sometimes it was a park where they'd take a nice stroll as they enjoyed the scenery, other times it was a restaurant, occasionally one of their own, where they ate out and discussed the events of their week, or even the sermon given earlier that day, and still other times, they would change and go to a golf course where Elias and Son enjoyed swinging their clubs for a few hours at a time. On rare occasions, they visited some family friends, or hosted guests of their own, which was always a very enjoyable experience. And of course, as to be expected of a family like theirs, they did visit various galas and whatnot. Not always on Sundays, but they did visit such events where they socialized with other rich folks like them.
When Theodore's parents weren't around, the boy's primary caretaker was the family's butler Vincent Hoornweg. As part of his duties, he ensured that Theodore got a world class education by a slew of private tutors specializing in various subjects, including, but not limited to, English, Latin, Math, Science, History, Philosophy, Information Technology (taught outside of the Salisbury Mansion), Acting, and Music Theory and Piano. In addition to this, Vincent took it upon himself to teach Theodore proper etiquette, and was also, in addition, his personal trainer. From a young age, Theodore displayed great intelligence, surprising his own tutors with his quick learning. For example, he could play the fortepiano quite well at the age of seven. Granted, he was by no means an accomplished musician, but he was already playing pieces of music quite advanced for kids his age, according to his piano teacher anyways. In fact, by the time he turned eleven, he would play pieces such as Burgmüller's Consolation or Schumann's The Wild Horseman without batting an eye. Sure, it wasn't perfect per say, but to the untrained ear, it sounded exactly like it was supposed to. In math on the other hand, Theodore was already working with subjects like trigonometry and statistics.
Of course, Theodore had other ambitions besides playing the piano and studying until he passed out, for he also like to dabble in muggle magic. He learned all sorts of tricks, from card tricks, to coin tricks, to pen tricks. In fact, it seemed that he could conjure an vanish a sharpie at will. One of his favorite tricks was three card monte, where it seemed like he placed a certain card in one place, whereas in reality, he placed that card someplace else. Conjuring a coin out of thin air was a favorite of his as well, and he liked to hone his accuracy skills by throwing coins at set targets. His favorite coin was a '69 fifty pence, but he never threw that one. The coins he did throw however, were usually just spare change he got from who knows where. He didn't throw all the coins he acquired though, because he had a collection in which he collected coins of every type and year he could find. He had everything ranging from pennies, to five pound coins, and he was well aware of what he did and didn't have in his collection. And besides this, the boy liked to travel. He had been in many countries and towns by the time he turned eleven, mostly due to vacations with his parents, but he also traveled with Vincent, sometimes because Vincent wanted to show him a nice place, and other times because Theodore wanted to go somewhere of his own accord. Their travels however, were more local unlike the vacations, with Vincent never taking Theodore outside the British Isles save for one time when took a "quick" trip to France, if you could call it quick.
Growing up in a half-blood family, Theodore always knew that one day, he would receive a letter inviting him to Hogwarts where he would go on to get a world class education in how to use the greatest gift God gave to man: magic. And God. It was a funny idea to some, believing in God in the wake of magic, but on the flip side, believing in an all-powerful being whose very existence seemed impossible given that he never had a beginning, but simply was, wasn't that far of a stretch given the fact magic itself seemed impossible, and yet, was. And when that long awaited day finally came, when Theodore received that letter of invitation to come and learn at the most prestigious school in the nation, Theodore simply couldn't reject the invitation.
First Instance of Magic: Theodore's first instance of magic took place when he was four. It was a particularly warm day and he happened to be playing in his back yard whilst being supervised by Vincent the Butler. He was playing around on the grass, when he saw a wasp flying around the flowers not too far away. The boy turned his full attention to the flower bed and ran over there. "Careful there." The butler warned, to which the boy replied with nothing but at "Uh-huh." As he stared at the wasp, curiosity etched on his face, Theodore decided to catch it to show Vincent. And so he reached out with both of his hands, trying his best to get ahold of the wasp, but failing. "Oy, watch it!" Vincent said as he began to walk down the lawn towards the boy, who continued trying to capture the wasp. "Stop it!" And yet, the boy continued to ignore him.
"That's it! You're coming with me." The butler said as he grabbed hold of Theodore and proceeded to drag him away. Unbeknownst to the young child, his actions had severely angered the wasp, making the boy a dangerous target that deserved to be punished. And so, as the butler dragged Theodore away from the flower bed, the angry wasp caught up to them and proceeded to sting the boy as much times as it deemed necessary. The boy quickly shouted out in pain, and in that very instant, the grass caught on fire. In an flash, Vincent whipped out his wand and began extinguishing the fire, and once that was taken care of, he went inside to tend to the boy's stings. And from that day forth, Theodore had developed a great fear for bees and wasps.
Note: When Elias was in the process of designing his mansion, he always had magic in mind, which is why he built the place far enough away from any potential muggle eyes, but close enough to the muggle town of Salisbury to be a comfortable car ride away. This magic is completely invisible to the naked eye, but it is still there, thus meaning that technology cannot work inside of or particularly near it. It is for this very reason that Theodore learned Information Technology outside of his full-time residence at a few bootcamps where he learned it on actual systems. Now he's no IT wizard, but he can do basic troubleshooting on pc's and write a little bit of code, though he can't build them yet.
The Ashbourne's make the majority of their income off of muggles, and this was a practice that came into being when Theodore's grandfather Cornelius married a muggleborn and saw how much money lies in the world of muggles. Since then, the Ashbourne business has been mostly muggles, and with Theodore's father Elias being in the second generation of muggle interaction, he does use electronics. However, no electronics come inside of the mansion, and there is a dedicated space a good distance away from the mansion itself reserved specifically for vehicles with electronics inside them such an infotainment system or even the car's internal computers.
All of this information will be added into my encyclopedia.

While most of this is good, we need a little more information regarding him learning Information Technology. Is it from books or actual system. Is their Mansion located in the muggle side of world or wizarding. Electronics can not be used in wizarding world at all.

As I said, Electricity and Magic can not interact with each other, living in the muggle world and then having a house full of magic is not possible. Also, How far is Theodore going to study IT? if it's just outside of their house, and the proposed house is full of magic, they'll simply have the whole system blast into their face with how magic and electricity interact.

Character Special Race/Talent: Metamorphmagus
ReducioCharacter Backstory:The Metamorphmagus gene is a rare one, even among Theo’s line. The Young family is rather expansive; once pureblood, in recent generations they’ve made an effort not to exclude their Squibs and became more open to marriage with Muggles—trusted ones, of course. They were well aware that not all Muggles could be trusted with the knowledge of magic, nor could some handle it well.
Despite the big family, there were still few Metamorphmagi. Usually, there were at most two who were both alive and in contact with each other. It was nonetheless a known fact that Metamorphagi pop up once in a while, and so there have been a couple in the Young family who kept a diary of sorts in hopes of providing guidance to future Young Metamorphmagi.
It became quickly apparent that Cori was a Metamorphmagus when she was just a baby. The first time both Lenora and Theodore had left her alone in the crib, Cori had been first confused, then sad, then worried—and burst out into loud crying. When Lena had rushed back into the room, she gaped at the sight of her little baby with a shock of long turquoise hair—the color of an algae-filled lake, pulsating like soft waves as Cori cried. Not long before, Cori had only sported small tufts of lightest brown hair.
Befuddled—was this an abnormally early display of magic?—Lena called out to her husband, but upon his arrival, he simply let out a wry grin. “Looks like we have a Metamorphmagus on our hands!”
Cori hadn’t been very talkative as a baby, but she had a lot of energy and had a bad habit of crawling or toddling off to places she shouldn’t. She didn’t cry often, but when she did, it was loud and expressive, and the same was true for just about any emotion. She had Big Feelings when they came, and the then-young Theodore and Lenora were often at a loss as to how to best handle her.
So of course, Theo turned to books, and Lena turned to her mentors: most of them ones she’d met at Hogwarts, some who also had experience raising small children. Big Feelings by themselves were a fairly normal parenting challenge to undergo, but in the Starlings’ case, this was exacerbated by Cori’s unintentional transformations: eyes flashing a different color, hair shifting in length and color, and even baby teeth sharpening.
Unfortunately, there was no living Metamorphmagus in the Young family at this point, although the records show that the previous one had been Theo’s grandfather, a man he barely remembered as he had died prematurely in a magical creature accident. Still, a search through both Theo’s personal library and the Young family library brought up the diaries written by previous Metamorphmagi, providing a bit of guidance that Theo passed along to his wife.
Putting their two heads together, Theo and Lena devised a plan they called Operation Feelings. (“That’s so cringey,” Lena had said, only to be silenced when Theo responded with, “Can you come up with anything better?”) Trying to pull from their reserve of their very best parenting skills, they patiently tried to teach Cori how her emotions manifested as a Metamorphmagus and stressed the importance of expressing them.
They were well aware of the common pitfall of Metamorphmagi repressing their emotions in an attempt to mitigate accidental transformations, and from Theo’s extensive research of psychology and parenting books (not to mention Lena’s precious life experience), they both knew that continued repression of emotions was never healthy. Thus, they tried their hardest to drill this into Cori’s head.
Their talks were something like this: “Some people, like you, have big emotions. And for some people, like you, are Metamorphmagi, which means their emotions come out in these little transformations—like your hair changing color. Now, when you get older, you’ll be able to control these transformations. Being a Metamorphmagus is really cool, okay? Some people might tell you otherwise, and they might be scared of you when they see you transform, but that’s just because they don’t understand, and they don’t have the same talents as you. Being a Metamorphmagus is not a bad thing. It’s just something you’ll learn to adapt to, and we’re good at adapting to things, yeah? Now, sometimes these transformations can be… inconvenient, or draw attention you don’t want, so we’ll work together to try to mitigate—er, that means try to make them happen less often—them until you can control them better, okay?”
And in this way, Cori grew up with lots of breathing exercises, Talking It Out, and almost unrestrained ability to move her body. They even had her try meditation, but that didn’t stick as well with Cori’s impatient nature. Still, this obviously didn’t completely stop the transformations. At school, just like her parents had predicted, many of her classmates began to shy away from her as soon as they discovered her talent, with some even telling her that “metamorphs can’t be trusted.” Cori refused to shy away, and although it’s shaken her trust in people outside of her family, she resolved to always be 100% honest—that way, no one could question if she was being duplicitous or not. If that doesn’t make sense… well, it made sense in little Cori’s head.
She still tries to hide her Metamorphmagus ability whenever possible, and although she’s made attempts to will transformations, they’ve never lasted very long, and the successful ones have only been minor changes, like the shape of her nose or the color of her eyes. Cori just hopes that no one will give her a hard time for it at Hogwarts, since it’s bound to come out eventually.

ReducioFirst Instance of Magic:Born to Theodore and Lenora Starling, Cori grew up in a magical household with firm ties to the Muggle world.
Her father had chosen to take his wife’s surname (a rather unpopular choice in the opinion of some of his family), but he had been born Theodore Young. A wizardborn Ravenclaw, he gave his sense of humor to his daughter—dry and witty with a love for puns, anagrams, and other linguistic quirks. He doesn’t believe in stereotypes and is more open-minded than his wife. He truly loves his wife and would do anything to make her happy. Although absent-minded when absorbed in his work, he often turns his unquenchable Ravenclaw curiosity onto the matters of his daughter, making him an attentive and observant dad, if not occasionally nosy. He considers himself a polyglot and is proficient in multiple foreign languages, including French, Italian, Greek, and Mandarin. However, his true passion may lay the realm of classics research and its intersection with magic. (He named Cori after the Greek poet Korinna. Lenora insisted on giving her the more normal and androgynous middle name “Ellis.”) This love for languages and history doesn’t seem to have rubbed off much on Cori, but Theo tries not to let it bother him too much. As far as he was concerned, his priority as a dad is to raise her to be a happy, healthy, and wise woman. Everything else comes after.
Cori’s mother had been one of the few Muggleborn Slytherins. With an ambition to prove herself despite her upbringing and perceived lack of magical heritage, she was a quick learner and, despite initial hurdles, eventually found friends both within and without her house. Sharp, perceptive, and brilliant, she can be ruthless when pursuing her goals but is soft and gentle to her family. To those outside her family, it may be a surprise to see the depth of her kindness in interacting with Theo and Cori. Diplomatic, serene, and cool-headed, she balances out Theo when he loses his temper and rarely raises her voice. Lenora is brilliant at charms, transfiguration, and just about all manner of wand work, but Theo tells her that her true talent is being a mother because she’s wonderful at it. (Lena tells him to stop flattering her.) Like her husband, her goal is to raise a happy, healthy, and wise daughter, but she also makes it a priority to ensure Cori is independent and emotionally intelligent.
Fueled by her ambition and precarious status in Slytherin, Lena had immersed herself in all things magical and, in the process, pulled away from her parents whom she felt could no longer relate to her life. Although they attended her wedding to Theo, they simply fell out of consistent contact. They were able to rekindle their relationship with the birth of Cori as, to everyone’s surprise, Lenora’s mother, Rosalie, grew very close with her granddaughter.
A few months after Cori’s tenth birthday, Rosalie passed away peacefully in her own bed. Several of Cori’s favorite childhood memories center around her grandmother, and the gap left by her passing will surely be raw and tender for a while.
Although Cori is an only child, she has plenty of cousins on both sides of her family, and they have fairly regular family get-togethers. As she grew older, though, it became more and more difficult to sustain her relationships with her Muggle cousins as her magic grew faster than her ability to control it. They hope that as she heads off to Hogwarts, she will find outlets for both her magic and energy and learn to conceal it well, so that she won’t have to alienate her Muggle family like her mother had.
Other than the struggle of hiding magic from some of her family (which was mostly Theo and Lena’s battle, anyway), the emotional scars of preparatory school teasing (which Cori refuses to acknowledge, to the dismay of her parents), and the recent passing of her grandmother, Cori had a fairly happy childhood. Theo would often read to or solve crosswords with his daughter, Lena would teach her all manners of things, and she had plenty of joyful afternoons riding toy broomsticks and rolling around on the grass with her cousins.

ReducioEver since Cori was small, she’s always felt the presence of her magic; she just didn’t know that that was what it was. It was like a second skin, like blood pumping steadily through her veins, like the atmosphere—always around her, breathing with her. It seemed to pulse with her stronger emotions, but it was always very subtle, never malicious but not quite benevolent, either.
The first time it announced its presence to the rest of the world was when she was 5 years old. Cori barely remembers it herself, but the story’s been passed around so many times in her family that it’s almost like she can picture it in her memories.
Their home rests in the countryside, and the back garden bumps up against woodland. Unlike Muggle homes with fences, the Starlings preferred to keep their garden open to the wild and protected with magical shields instead—wards against unwelcome intruders and the like. However, they hadn’t expected a benign guest to cause such a ruckus.
Lena had been adamant that Cori get lots of fresh air, sunshine, and general contact with the outdoors as a child. So they had brought their little girl out to the garden and temporarily left her on one of the benches as they ran back to the house. It doesn’t particularly matter to this story what they were getting; imagine it’s something terribly important, like a pitcher of lemonade.
In any event, Cori had quickly leaped off her bench and began exploring. The next thing she knew, she was looking up into the face of a huge male red deer. Red deer are usually non-aggressive… but Cori didn’t know that. About 4 feet (122 cm) just to its shoulder (in other words, not accounting for its head and those antlers), the stag towered over little gobsmacked Cori, who was maybe about 3’ 2” (97 cm). As soon as he let out a deep grunt, Cori squeezed her eyes shut and let out a scream in fear, toppling back onto her bum.
Unbeknownst to her, when she had screamed, her whole body had lit up in a brief, strong flare. The stag had snorted in surprise and quickly turned tail, returning back into the forest he had came from.
Theo and Lena had witnessed the scene from afar as they were coming back out of the house, but their worry quickly turned to elation at the clear display of magic. (Of course, Lena quickly tried to smother that as she rushed to comfort her now crying daughter.)

Character Backstory:
Zorketh Zoulic's beginnings were quiet and without record. He was found as a baby deep in the outskirts of Edinburgh, tucked between the roots of an old tree in a forest that locals rarely entered. No one knew where he had come from, and no one came looking for him. All that was left with him was a piece of parchment, torn and water-stained, with a name scribbled on it in ink that had nearly faded away. That name was Zorketh. He was taken in by a small orphanage nestled between brick alleys and creeping ivy, a place forgotten by the city and mostly ignored by time.
Growing up, Zorketh was different, though not always in ways people could explain. The other children whispered about him behind closed doors. They said the air grew colder when he was nearby, that the lights flickered when he stared too long. He didn’t speak much, didn’t play, didn’t laugh. But he was observant, quiet in a way that unnerved others. People often described him as eerie or distant, but he never reacted to the labels. He carried himself like someone older than his years, like someone who was always watching the world from a step behind.
There was only one place he ever felt safe, and it was not a place made of walls or roofs, but a person. Though he never had answers about where he came from, he never once asked. Somewhere deep down, he believed the truth would find him, eventually. In the meantime, he spent his days reading books no one remembered owning, writing in notebooks he never let anyone else see, and walking alone through the cracks of the city where no one paid attention. That was how he lived, unnoticed, but never unseeing.
First Instance of Magic:
Zorketh's first real magic surfaced when he was seven years old. The moment came quietly, without flashing lights or strange noises. It began with a photograph, the only item he had kept for as long as he could remember. It was a faded picture of a woman he didn’t know, smiling in a garden. He would stare at it for hours sometimes, trying to remember if she had ever held him, if her voice might echo somewhere in the back of his memory. He kept the photo hidden in a book beneath his bed, and rarely showed it to anyone.
One day, another boy from the orphanage found the picture and tried to take it. There was a scuffle, sharp words, and then, something changed. Zorketh didn’t touch the boy, didn’t even move. But the air turned heavy and the floor beneath them groaned. The boy’s shoes melted slightly into the wooden boards, not enough to hurt, but enough to trap him in place. The lights above buzzed and dimmed for several seconds before returning to normal. Everyone stood in silence, confused, frightened. But Zorketh only picked up his photo, dusted it off, and walked away.
No one could explain what had happened. The adults blamed faulty wiring. The children whispered about curses. But Zorketh knew, even if he didn’t understand how, that he had done it. The force had come from somewhere inside him, out of instinct, like a muscle flexing under pressure. It wasn’t rage or hatred. It was something colder, more focused. From that day on, the other children left him alone. And for the first time in his life, Zorketh felt both powerful and completely alone.

Character Backstory: Birth-6:
When Madelynn was born, she was loved. Her parents were so happy to have her and they played with her so much. However, when she moved to Tottenham, her parents started being absent a lot from the age of six. They were part of a criminal group they had found. Some pure bloods who wanted to still spread the word around about muggleborns and muggles being bad. So Madelynn’s parents started planning a murder. Madelynn had no idea about this though.
Madelynn also had a babysitter, her name was Lady. She was very kind and always played with Madelynn a lot when her parents were out.
She learned Madelynn a lot, also things that weren’t always appropriate for her age like books that had difficult words. But Madelynn was a smart girl and she liked reading the things she didn’t understand. She would ask tons of questions about them, her curiosity never stopping. Lady was the only person besides her parents who she dared to talk with. At doctors appointments she would always be quiet, because she wasn’t very outgoing. She preferred to stay unnoticed, but loved.
7-9 years old
Madelynn had her first magical accident when she was seven years old. Her mother was home, baking cookies for her. Madelynn got to help and she was eager to be as helpful as she could be. She looked into the recipe book and read out the things they had to do.
But at some point, when not watching out enough; she knocked over a jar of flour. She tried to catch it, but seemed to be too late. That’s when it happened when the jar of flour kept floating above the ground just one inch. Madelynn was totally baffled when it happened.
After that, she knew she was a witch and not a squib so she started reading more. From the age of seven until the age of nine, she spent most days in her room unless Lady was there. She read as much as she could about Hogwarts, hoping to get her acceptance letter. But it made her even more quiet than usual and there was also something she didn’t quite notice. Her parents were acting unusual.
10 years old:
At the age of ten, there was no denying anymore something was definitely off. Madelynn came downstairs one day, her parents seemed tense. They had murdered a few muggles now and they had been caught by aurors. Or at least, they had caught their eye.
Madelynn asked what was going on, but they wouldn’t respond. They spent all day cleaning, as if they were going to be leaving the house soon. Madelynn packed her stuff, confused at why they had to do this.
At night, Madelynn was quietly reading a book and the door was knocked on. She was told that they were going to live at aunt Poppy for a few days. She was excited to live with her for a few days, even though she was confused as to why. She loved aunt Poppy a lot. She was a bubbly and warm woman.
Though as time passed, the few days became weeks, the weeks became months. Madelynn missed her babysitter, Lady. She missed her own room, her own bed. She felt homesick. She knew she had to be ready to feel that way when she would go to Hogwarts though. It was a boarding school after all. She wanted to prepare for that.
One night, aunt Poppy and Madelynn’s parents seemed to be arguing. “Adam and Tessa! How could you have possibly done this?!” Poppy shouted. Madelynn knew it wasn’t good that Poppy didn’t call them their usual nicknames. She decided to ignore it for now though.
But then she heard footsteps outside. Very quiet ones. The young girl looked out of the window, but saw no one. It raised suspicions with her. It stayed quiet further that night after the argument. Though when it was four in the morning… “OPEN UP! WE ARE AURORS FROM THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC!” Rang through the room. Madelynn’s parents were arrested for treason against the ministry of magic. They had killed several muggles. Madelynn was shocked. She moved in with aunt Poppy, as obviously she wasn’t held accountable for her parents actions.
11 years old:
After the arrest of Madelynn’s parents, the young girl had gotten more introverted. She wanted to make up for their mistakes. She always helped aunt Poppy with everything she could, though Poppy wouldn’t always let her. She said that Madelynn had to take better care of herself. Madelynn thought that was nonsense.
Though, as September neared, she saw a letter. She knew immediately what it was. An invitation letter for Hogwarts. “Aunt Poppy!” She said loudly while running towards her.
Now her adventure could really start…
First Instance of Magic: Madelynn let a small jar of flour float an inch above the ground when she was seven. She had wanted to save the jar from falling and wanted to be helpful. In her panicked state, it had come to this.

1/4 Part-Goblin
Balancing life between the Muggle world and the magical could make a witch feel out of place in both places. Emilie knew this better than she would like to share. Her father was a Muggle, a very normal human, except he had married a witch who just happened to be 1/2 goblin. Both of Emilie's maternal grandparents were half goblins. Her grandfather was half from his father's side and her grandmother from her mother's side. That made Emilie...1/4th? But the way Emilie felt in the Muggle world, it might as well have been 100%. She was always reminded by people and the world how small she was for her age. She wasn't tiny, but short enough that she was always at the end of the line in school, always needed to stand on her tippy toes to reach over the counter at the lunch line, and never tall enough to ride any coasters. It wasn't so bad; adults were always giving her candy, thinking she was closer to 8 than the 11-year-old she was. She was small enough to hide in some creative places during hide-and-seek, and she got to use the kids' discount at restaurants. But it was her larger feet that got the most attention; she was already wearing 3 UK. That's big for an average 11-year-old, but then factor in that she's more the size of an 8-year-old? It's huge, at least that's what some of her classmates claimed, and if they weren't making fun of her feet, it was her longer fingers or her slightly pointed ears. Her primary school bully would make cone fingers out of paper, declaring to the class that she was a witch like Emilie. Little did she know that wasn't much of an insult to Emilie.
Her father's family was all lengthy and slim, and though she knew they loved he, the little jabs about her short legs or her elf-like ears could hurt her feelings. Her father spent many car rides home reminding her of how much she looked like her mother, repeating stories about great goblin warriors he had heard her mother tell her about before bed, or reminding her she came from a strong and long line of amazing individuals of all sorts; Muggles, wizards, goblins.
While in the magical world, her elongated fingers or feet weren't much of a big deal. The majority of her time in the magical world consisted of being around her grandmother and cousins, who all had matching features, but when in the wider magical world, there were still passing comments or sidelong looks. In her younger years, she had heard an older woman comment on 'greedy goblins' as she left Gringotts Wizarding Bank. Emilie never understood why the woman would say that, as when Emilie went in, she smiled at the teller goblin, who winked at her as he gave her a molasses galleon coin. She had eaten that molasses coin while waiting to get into the cart to reach her grandmother's vault. She had laughed and whooped in joy as she rode the best coaster that was available to her at this stage of her young life; she also hadn't missed the way the goblin had leaned the cart just a little further over the edge, giving Emilie the ride of her life.
Character Backstory: Emilie's mother, Bliss, died when she was 5. She might not remember her mother well these days, but the day she woke up to her father's cries as he pressed on the witch's chest, begging her to wake up while a woman's voice spoke through the phone, guiding him in CPR, lived in her memory like a rune carved into stone. 'It was an aneurysm, ' Emilie sat in the chair listening to the doctor explain to her father. All she knew was that it wasn't good.
Emilie could still hear her grandmother's wails. How could she possibly be dead, with all the magical knowledge? But the simple fact was that Bliss thought her symptoms were the common cold. She had told her husband she simply needed rest; the headache would pass, it must be a bug going around. She couldn't possibly know that each throb of her head was just the seconds ticking away. No one in Bliss's family had ever had an aneurysm; she was in good health, and she had no symptoms that shouted 'Get help'. 'It's a blessing and a curse, it burst while she slept,' the doctors told Marqus, 'she didn't feel the pain, but it was unlikely you could have done anything'. It didn't feel like a blessing to Emilie.
It took months, possibly longer, for life to return to normal, or as normal as it can be when you lose someone who brought colour and joy into your life. Her father's bookshop was the same, the room she slept in hadn't changed, but everything was forever changed. Her mother's family came and went, offering any help they could, but in the end, it was Marqus, her father, and she who rebuilt their world little by little.
Life was quiet; her father, Marqus, a soft-spoken, gentle man, did his best as a single father to try and bring as much joy to Emilie's life. She took piano lessons, tried karate, and went to renfairs after returning from her grandmother's every summer.
Emilie was a rumbunctious but sweet little girl. She found joy popping out of corners, giving browsers a little fright, taking readers by the hand and leading them to the books she claimed were calling their name, or thumbing through the new arrivals. On rainy days when the shop was slow, Emilie would sneak into the attic to look at her mother's belongings, gently running her finger on the birch wand that her grandmother said was full of magic, or flipping through a photo album that had moving pictures.
Summers were often partially spent with her grandmother and cousins in the magical world. She loved watching her older cousins fly and watching them cast magic like it was second nature. Her grandmother, a shorter but fierce woman, would put her to bed with stories of Goblin warriors, wizards fighting for freedom, or just magical creatures that she claimed wandered around the garden at night.
First Instance of Magic:
Emilie knew magic was real; she had spent summers with her mother's family, but she didn't feel magical, especially when around them. That is, until she was 10. Stupid Irina McGillis stuck gum in her hair, or tried. Irina often picked on Emilie, but on this day, she was pushing past the name-calling to physical. Emilie sat at her desk reading quietly as they had been told to do when she felt Irina tug on her hair. Emilie didn't know at the time that the girl was trying to stick gum into her dark curls. Another tug, but as Emilie turned to tell the bully to leave her be, she noticed that the girl's hands were covered in a gloopy pink substance. The more she tried to spread the substance on the curls, the more the pink gloop spread on her hands, covering them in a sticky mess. It was finally when Emilie had called over the teacher, and Irina's hands were so sticky and messy that they just stuck to each other, that the substance stopped growing.
