History/Background Story: Birth-6:
When Madelynn was born, she was loved. Her parents were so happy to have her and they played with her so much. However, when she moved to Tottenham, her parents started being absent a lot from the age of six. They were part of a criminal group they had found. Some pure bloods who wanted to still spread the word around about muggleborns and muggles being bad. So Madelynn’s parents started planning a murder. Madelynn had no idea about this though.
Madelynn also had a babysitter, her name was Lady. She was very kind and always played with Madelynn a lot when her parents were out.
She learned Madelynn a lot, also things that weren’t always appropriate for her age like books that had difficult words. But Madelynn was a smart girl and she liked reading the things she didn’t understand. She would ask tons of questions about them, her curiosity never stopping. Lady was the only person besides her parents who she dared to talk with. At doctors appointments she would always be quiet, because she wasn’t very outgoing. She preferred to stay unnoticed, but loved.
7-9 years old
Madelynn had her first magical accident when she was seven years old. Her mother was home, baking cookies for her. Madelynn got to help and she was eager to be as helpful as she could be. She looked into the recipe book and read out the things they had to do.
But at some point, when not watching out enough; she knocked over a jar of flour. She tried to catch it, but seemed to be too late. That’s when it happened when the jar of flour kept floating above the ground just one inch. Madelynn was totally baffled when it happened.
After that, she knew she was a witch and not a squib so she started reading more. From the age of seven until the age of nine, she spent most days in her room unless Lady was there. She read as much as she could about Hogwarts, hoping to get her acceptance letter. But it made her even more quiet than usual and there was also something she didn’t quite notice. Her parents were acting unusual.
10 years old:
At the age of ten, there was no denying anymore something was definitely off. Madelynn came downstairs one day, her parents seemed tense. They had murdered a few muggles now and they had been caught by aurors. Or at least, they had caught their eye.
Madelynn asked what was going on, but they wouldn’t respond. They spent all day cleaning, as if they were going to be leaving the house soon. Madelynn packed her stuff, confused at why they had to do this.
At night, Madelynn was quietly reading a book and the door was knocked on. She was told that they were going to live at aunt Poppy for a few days. She was excited to live with her for a few days, even though she was confused as to why. She loved aunt Poppy a lot. She was a bubbly and warm woman.
Though as time passed, the few days became weeks, the weeks became months. Madelynn missed her babysitter, Lady. She missed her own room, her own bed. She felt homesick. She knew she had to be ready to feel that way when she would go to Hogwarts though. It was a boarding school after all. She wanted to prepare for that.
One night, aunt Poppy and Madelynn’s parents seemed to be arguing. “Adam and Tessa! How could you have possibly done this?!” Poppy shouted. Madelynn knew it wasn’t good that Poppy didn’t call them their usual nicknames. She decided to ignore it for now though.
But then she heard footsteps outside. Very quiet ones. The young girl looked out of the window, but saw no one. It raised suspicions with her. It stayed quiet further that night after the argument. Though when it was four in the morning… “OPEN UP! WE ARE AURORS FROM THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC!” Rang through the room. Madelynn’s parents were arrested for treason against the ministry of magic. They had killed several muggles. Madelynn was shocked. She moved in with aunt Poppy, as obviously she wasn’t held accountable for her parents actions.
11 years old:
After the arrest of Madelynn’s parents, the young girl had gotten more introverted. She wanted to make up for their mistakes. She always helped aunt Poppy with everything she could, though Poppy wouldn’t always let her. She said that Madelynn had to take better care of herself. Madelynn thought that was nonsense.
Though, as September neared, she saw a letter. She knew immediately what it was. An invitation letter for Hogwarts. “Aunt Poppy!” She said loudly while running towards her.
Now her adventure could really start…
First Instance of Magic: Madelynn let a small jar of flour float an inch above the ground when she was seven. She had wanted to save the jar from falling and wanted to be helpful. In her panicked state, it had come to this.
