Character Backstory: Word Count: 926/500ReducioDenise is a proud half-blood witch with a rich blend of magical and Muggle heritage. Her father, Edwin Garcia, is a successful Muggle lawyer, known for his sharp mind and pragmatic approach to life. He is 39 years old. Despite his lack of magical abilities, Edwin understands the basis of the wizarding world, and fully supports Denise's future magical education. He’s often busy with work, traveling for high-profile cases, but tries his best to make time to offer Denise some useful advices and listen to her when she needs proper guidance with her experiences in daily life.
Her mother, Loretta Garcia (formerly known as Loretta Scott), is a talented witch and a respected figure within the wizarding community. She is 36 years old. Loretta is an archivist, working at the Ministry of Magic. She specializes in magical artifacts. Her work requires her to travel frequently, meeting with other magical institutions and maintaining records that protect the magical world’s renowned history. Though she is often absorbed in her work tirelessly, she deeply cares about Denise's life and most of the time makes sure to be present with Denise in family gatherings so that she doesn't feel conflicted or isolated within herself. One of the many reasons to make appearances in family gatherings is because Loretta wants to show everyone how a child can still be raised without the parents quitting either of their jobs.
Despite Denise's parents busy careers and theoretical believes, both of them value family time and ensure that most of the weekends are reserved for them if there is no emergency situation in their work. Denise always enjoys cozy dinners with her family as it only happens once in a week. Her mother often tells her stories of the outside wizarding world such as the Diagon Alley and the infamous Knockturn Alley while her father jokes around with them in his dry, witty manner. Though her parents are generally emotionally close, they sometimes get disconnected due to their demanding careers.
Denise also has an older brother, Mike Garcia, who is currently attending Durmstrang Institute, a school known for its ever-so stern approach to wizardry. He is 7 years younger than Denise. Though Mike might seem distant and serious on his first encounter with anyone, he shares a close bond with Denise, often sending her letters filled with advice and stories from his own magical journey, preparing Denise for hers as well. Densie has always wondered why her parents didn't send Mike to Hogwarts when Denise was supposed to attend it. The fact being said, her mother explained that during the starting careers of her parents, they couldn't afford hiring a nanny and had to keep Mike at his grandparent's house which is situated outside UK. That being said, he experienced his first instance of magic outside of UK and his name was not registered in the Hogwarts book of admittance which eventually lead them to admit him into Durmstrang.
Denise's childhood home is a large, cozy townhouse located in a quiet neighborhood in Great Yarmouth, England. The house is a blend of both Muggle and magical influences. There are rare magical artifacts displayed alongside modern, Muggle furnitures. The house is filled with educational books or novels and magical plants that Denise’s mother (or sometimes her nanny) tends to. The library consists of both magical and non-magical texts. Denise’s has a personal room which reflects upon her dual heritage: on one wall, she has a large bookshelf of Muggle novels, while on the other side, she has enchanted objects and magical trinkets she’s collected over the years.
While her parents are often away, her home is never truly empty. Her parents employed a trusted nanny, Mrs. Ortega, a clear hearted woman who’s taken care of Denise since she was a baby. Mrs. Ortega is a pure-blood witch and is a valuable resource when Denise needs help with homework or just someone to confide in. Mrs. Ortega didn't show much cooperation at first but is always with her during her hard times and it confuses Denise about what Mrs. Ortega's true intentions are but personally she has adapted to her nanny's ironic behaviour.
Denise’s circle of friends is not so diverse, it consists of her cousins as of now, many of whom also have ties to the wizarding world. She doesn't have any Muggle friends as Loretta considers it dangerous for Denise to be close to Muggles at such a small age. Her closest friends include her cousins—the Nolan family—who live nearby, just down the lane, third block from the left. Her cousin, Phyllis Nolan, is just a year older than Denise and shares a deep bond with her, often acting as a trustworthy mentor in the absence of Denise's parents. Phyllis is known for her cleverness and ability to solve problems, and she is often happy to help Densie when she struggles with her basic magical education necessary before the enrollment in any magical institute. Phyllis’s younger brother, Richard Nolan, is mischievous in nature but loyal at all circumstances. He adds fun and excitement to Denise’s mundane life with his pranks and adventurous tales (most of them turned out to be fake but they were interesting to listen to for Denise and Phyllis).
Despite the Garcia family’s busy and sometimes complicated life, Denise has learnt to embrace both her magical and Muggle sides, finding strength in her dual heritage. The support of her family, cousins, and the ever-present Mrs. Ortega allows her to navigate the challenges of being a half-blood witch with resilience and grace.
First Instance of Magic:ReducioOne day, on a warm afternoon, when Denise was 8 years old, she was playing outside in the backyard with her favorite toy—a small wooden toy airplane she received from Edwin on her 7th birthday. She enjoys flying it around manually, imagining adventures in the skies she will experience once she boards an airplane with muggle passengers, unaware that among them is the presence of a witch. But today, she was struggling to make it fly steadily as her mood was down and not that energetic to imagine. Frustrated and upset that nothing seems to work her way, she stormed off into a quiet corner of the backyard where there were a few rows of old and tall growing hedges.
She sat down on the ground, feeling increasingly miserable. The toy airplane laid motionless in front of her as Denise fumes about her parents' absence. She wanted to show them her collection of magical artifacts, her diverse range of novels from Muggle world, her getting excellent grades and praises from nanny while doing her basic magical education. She wished that if something exciting or something magical were to happen, will her parents appear in front of her? She wanted to brighten up and not stay sullen... she wanted some magic to come and help her out of it. As she was lost in pointless thoughts, she absentmindedly kicked the ground in frustration over her fate, but as she did so, something odd happened: the earth beneath her foot shifted, and the toy airplane which lay beside her a few seconds ago had suddenly leaped into the air, soaring several feet above before gently landing again beside her.
Denise stared at the airplane, her eyes wide with disbelief. She tried to replicate the action again, kicking the ground harder this time, however the miracle didn't repeat. Before she could fully grasp what was happening at that instance, her nanny arrived at the garden’s edge looking flustered at not being able to find Denise for half an hour and scolded her for being so careless and also for dirtying her new skirt.
At first, Denise was too stunned to say anything, completely ignoring the scolding and angry mumbling of her nanny. She didn’t mention the occurrence of supposedly something magical to Mrs. Ortega, unsure of what she just experienced. Was it really her hallucinations taking toil on a warm drowsy afternoon or is something really different about her?

Reason for Pending:
- To be able to approve your Index Registration, you need to have the required information on your Characters Page: (Full Name, House, Age, Wand, School Year, Patronus: (Not applicable until 6th years - leave this empty), Species: (Human, Part-Giant, Part-Veela, etc.), History/Background Story (including First Instance of Magic))
- I believe it was a typo, but you said that your character's brother is a Durmstrang student and that he is 7 years younger than Denise. I believe you meant 7 years older. But in that case he would have already left Durmstrang, probably you meant he is 6 years older.
- Still on the same matter, why is Denise's brother studying in a different country, why isn't he studying at Hogwarts? If your family always lived together in England, why would they decide to send their son (a minor) to study at Durmstrang?
Some suggestion for possible explanation: He had his Fist Instance outside of the UK, your parents were living abroad at that time, so his name was not written in the Book of Admittance at Hogwarts.
- First Instance of Magic: When she first kicks the ground it does reads as unintentional, but the second time she wouldn't be able to replicate it, as it wouldn't be an accident, rather a conscientious use of magic.

He was born on the 8th April 2013 to Eleanor Hunt, a muggle-born Scot (née McAllister) and his father, Johannes Hunt, a pure-blood wizard of German descent, but he was raised in Aberdeen and attended Hogwarts. This makes him a half-blood wizard. As a result of his Germanic heritage, he is fluent in German, but prefers to speak English, as he feels a closer affinity with his Scottish heritage. As a child, his parents were slightly concerned that he would be a squib, as he failed to interact with or display any magical ability at all until his tenth birthday.
William Hunt was the youngest member of the Hunt family, who previously owned a lot of clothing stores in and around the Aberdeen area. As a result, his close family were well-respected and well-liked throughout the city. His paternal grandparents had very little interaction with him growing up, as they were ashamed of his father for marrying a muggle-born witch, which unfortunately meant that Will had little knowledge of his heritage. He had three elder sisters, all of whom were much older than young William. He did, however, have a single solitary friend: Mark. Will and Mark were acquainted as Mark's mother was a family friend of Eleanor, William's mother. Everyday after tea, Mark and Will would explore the forest behind Will's house, building forts and playing hide and seek. It was a happy existence for Will, but he knew that he was going to find it difficult to bid that life goodbye when he'd have to move to Hogwarts.
His three older sisters, Annika, Annetta and Freda, all of whom had long since graduated Hogwarts. They all worked quite menial jobs in the Ministry, but they seemed to enjoy it.
Unbekownst to him, his family were not mere clothing store owners, and were well-known in the village of Hamelin in Germany. His furthest direct relative, Hermann von Höhenwald was a wizard who was well-liked in his village for his skill in healing spells. Unfortunately, William had very little interaction with his paternal family with the exception of his aforementioned great-aunt Theodora, who still lived in Hamelin, but often visited Aberdeen whenever she wanted to visit her three-favourite granddaughters. They were often viewed as being better than Will, as they had married pure-bloods and therefore weren't seen as lesser by her.

Not much was known about the Hunt family prior to the 19th century, when they began to spread across Europe, often attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but one story is known..
From a young age, when sitting by the fireplace and enjoying some hot chocolate, William's father would often tell him stories of his family back in Hamelin, and just how different life was for them. Whilst they were often mundane stories that involved his namesake, Hermann von Höhenwald healing somebody that was suffering from a disease or plague in the village, his father sometimes stared off into the distance and would recount a very different story. This is that story, as best recounted from one of those cold nights.
"Father, are you going to tell me another one of the family stories? I feel like I don't know much about where we come from.. or what life used to be like," Will murmured, sitting next to his father on the floor as the two enjoyed warm hot chocolates during the cold Scottish winter.
"Well.. Will, I do have one story.. but it's a little dark. Maybe being scared will warm you up?" Johannes muttered, seeming almost frightened himself.
Hermann von Höhenwald was born to a single mother and an unknown father in Hamelin, Germany, in the mid-fourteenth century, and was quite a sickly child. His mother tried her best to help him to recover and become healthy, as many children in the area suffered from disease and plague, but he kept getting more and more sick. When he had reached the age of eleven, he managed to recover due to his mother finding some of the best healers available within the state, often having to travel to Bonn and other far-away places to find the absolute best for her only son. When she had returned from a long week of travelling, she found that the young child was making a strange hissing sound, something that sounded vile, and made shivers run down her spine. It was .. disgusting, vile, perhaps even evil. Something about the sonic quality of the hissing deeply disturbed her. She drew back the canvas of the tent, seeing her son seemingly.. speaking.. to a grass snake that had slithered through a gap in the tent's exterior. She knew that her son had displayed some magical ability, as he had just received his acceptance letter to Durmstrang, but this was something that most certainly hadn't hailed from her side of the family.. it must have been from Hermann's father‘s family; were they all parselmouths, or was he cursed somehow? His mother was terrified of her son's unique.. ability, and fled the tent, puzzling young Hermann, who uttered one more command to his serpentine companion, "flee". In his later life, Hermann tried to avoid using the ability as much as possible, acting as though his mother was simply delirious after so many hours and days of traveling to help her son. As a result, most of the Hunt family failed to accept or admit their dark ability.
Will looked shaken by his father recounting this story, as though something had deeply disturbed him. It was only earlier that day that Eleanor, Will's mother, had thought that Will was being odd again, as he was playing in the garden with the grass snakes, muttering under his breath, but she couldn't understand what he was doing. She thought he was a strange child, but he was completely unaware that he was speaking in parseltongue. After all, he had no idea that he could. Johnannes nodded, understanding that Will was just like himself, a parselmouth.. the isolation that one must feel from having such a disgusting "gift" was something that few could understand. It seemed as though William Hunt was the recipient of an ability that most of his family were ashamed of.

First Instance of Magic:
Will's first instance of wandless magic was when his paternal great-aunt Theodora visited from Germany. She was a rather difficult woman, often criticising William for associating with muggles, like his friend Mark, and was most certainly not fond of his muggle-born mother. For his tenth birthday, she had bought him a small train set that he could set up around the living room. He was rather fond of trains, as he could see them behind his house, but knew almost nothing about riding one. He was sitting on the floor while Theodora launched into yet another strongly-worded diatribe about his mother when he locked his gaze onto the train, concentrating hard and trying to ignore the argument around him before it began to swiftly levitate and hit Theodora in the back by accident. Fortunately, she was pleased that he had finally shown his magical ability and wasn't such a disappointment to the Hunt name.

Parselmouth ability:
- Hamlin is not a place I could find, maybe you meant a different place? Hamelin?
- The perselmouth skill does not choose gender. Saying that this ability only spread through the male members of a family does not follow our Lore. Unless you meant that there were no women born into this branch of the family tree. If so, please be more explicit.
Background:
- Why are Will's sisters working in the muggle world being them all witches and married with purebloods? What do they do? They can't work with magic, not even mention it in their lives due to the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy.
- You said that Will hardly has any contact with his sisters, but then later you say that great-aunt Theodora often visits them at Aberdeen. This is a little contradictory. If they are often in Aberdeen, this means that Will will see them more often than previously stated.

Character Backstory: Korvina was born to Ayathea and Kasyen Drakzan in the first month of 2013, merely 10 days from the start of the new year. Ayathea was in Gryffindor and Kasyen in Ravenclaw. They met through their jobs. The paternal Drakzan family kept dragons historically, but they had since changed to a different profession starting from Kasyen’s parents. The maternal part of the family came from a small town in France, with Ayathea’s grandparents relocating to England sometime in their 30s. Both of her parents were high-ranking officials in the Ministry, so they were very busy. Despite that, they still tried to spend time with their two children: Korvina and Soren. Soren was younger than Korvina by two years, so they attended the same school.
Soren was exceedingly popular in the neighbourhood and school alike, and many people - both teachers and other students - liked him. On the other hand, Korvina had to try her best to gain the same amount of attention. To gain more attention from both her peers and her parents, Korvina develops a rebellious appearance. The others, not knowing better, were more or less impressed. Some people hate troublemakers, mostly teachers, but most like her refreshing personality.
Because of the growing disparity between the two’s social circles, Korvina developed the mindset that her parents also liked her parents more. While Korvina's parents try to split their breaks evenly to spend time with both children, in Korvina’s perspective, every time they went out with Soren but left her at home, it was another hit to her confidence.
Two years after Korvina’s first instance of magic at age seven, Korvina, now nine years old, found herself being alone at home more often than before, with only a nanny to take care of her and the house. No one was at fault, really. Her parents were worried for Korvina’s brother as he has not had his first instance of magic yet, and they believed that she was more capable of staying home without her parents now - they never left her for more than a few hours and there was a paid caretaker to ensure her needs were met. However, Korvina began to doubt and blame herself for her parents’ ‘preference’ of her brother over her.
While it first developed as mild separation anxiety, it quickly developed into full depression at age ten. Her parents, detecting a change in behaviour, tried to pinpoint what had changed, but Korvina gave them no further hint. She could hide herself unfortunately too well. Her parents gave her their support, but Korvina never went to them for help.
First Instance of Magic: Korvina is seven and her brother is five when her parents decide to take her brother out to the park. She is jealous and mad at her parents because she thinks that they do not want to spend time with her anymore. In a fit of anger, she levitates her brother up into the air. He hovers just below the ceiling, and is terrified. Korvina, worried that her parents will scold her, tries to get him down, but nothing she does works. Eventually, her parents manage to de-levitate her brother with a spell. While they are angry with Korvina, they are also excited as this is Korvina's first instance of magic.

Harrison's life at home before Hogwarts can be described as peaceful, serene, stimulating and exciting. His parents, Susan and Edward, had always made sure to nurture their son's creativity, so that he may find it easier to think out of the box as well.
Their favorite activities to do together as a family were, and still are, going on excursions and visiting historical landmarks: one of Harrison's treasured memories is of his family going on a trek up the Glastonbury Tor and gazing at the town below.
In school, Harrison hadn't had too much trouble making friends: sure, at first it could be hard to break the ice, but after a while Harrison would gain confidence and be more outspoken with his peers. Sometimes, Harrison's stubbornness and nitpickiness could drive people away, but he didn't beat himself up over it: if it wasn't meant to be, it wasn't meant to be.
Despite not knowing about the Wizarding World, Harrison had always been keen on myths, legends, and stories of an ancient past that allegedly contained a bit of truth in them.
To be specific, Harrison's favourite would have had to be the folkloristic tales about King Arthur and the Round Table, as well as the Celtic mythology related to Merlin.
This interest of his was well-met by his maternal grandfather Harry's own interest in history: the latter would often read bedtime stories to Harrison, stories that featured dragons and knights and princesses and wizards. It was thanks to such an activity that the two formed a deep bond of affection.

Harrison's favorite person would have to have been his maternal grandfather Harry. They were like two peas in a pod: his grandpa would always indulge Harrison's questions and, being very keen on history himself, would always teach him something new.
So, it naturally was a rough time for Harrison when his grandpa came to pass: he'd had a hard time at school for the first few weeks after the fact, often having to excuse himself to go to the bathroom and just cry.
Harrison took comfort in visiting his grandpa's grave, even by himself, and just spending time there with him. It was on one such occasion that Harrison first displayed a feat of accidental magic: he had brought a bouquet of wildflowers he had personally picked. When he laid them over his grandpa's grave, Harrison couldn't help but feel a deep sense of longing and of nostalgia.
He reached out with his hand, and suddenly the bouquet of wildflowers gently burst as all of its flowers floated up into the air and danced around, carried by the soft breeze. Harrison couldn't believe it: had that been his grandpa trying to send him a message from the Great Beyond? Or had it simply been a gust of wind? Either way, Harrison was content and at peace.

Character Backstory: Rose was raised in a stern environment since her birth. Her father Alexander, a muggle, worked with the police force for ten years. Her mother Marianna, a half-blood witch, is a retired Auror after twenty-five years of service, retiring at the age of forty-seven to be a stay-at-home mother for Rose. Of course, having two parents that either worked for or still work for law enforcement means you will be raised in a strict environment. Still, they both spent as much time as they could with the girl, teaching her all they could. Her best trait was most definitely her curiosity. As she learned, she wanted to learn more. And she did, achieving straight A's through all of primary school. She achieved this not through sheer intelligence (though, this was a contributing factor), but through pure drive, ambition, and passion. If she was struggling on a subject, then by golly, she would strive to master it. But there was one thing she couldn't learn as of yet that she eagerly wanted to: magic. As she grew up, Marianna would cast minor spells to help with household chores. Of course, nothing too conspicuous. But little Rose would always ask, "When can I cast spells like you momma?" The middle-aged woman would just simply pat the girl's head and gently say, "When it is time, my baby bird." And so Rose patiently waited as the months passed, growing a little more disappointed as each day would pass. When would she learn? It had grown to irritate her. But she was raised to be patient. But by the time she was ten years old, she had still showed know sign of magic. This confused even Marianna, but she most certainly didn't want to disappoint her baby bird in the case that her doing magic was never meant to be. So the mother continued to tell her girl, "When it is time, my baby bird." Then, six months from her eleventh birthday, the incident happened.
First Instance of Magic: At this point and time, Rose's parents trusted her enough to walk to the store (a five minute walk to and from) to buy the groceries. On one walk however, she witnessed a group of teenage boys abusing a kitten. She wanted to step in and help, but her parents had always told her to get an adult instead of interfering. It looked like they were about to kill the thing though, she had no time! But her teachings steeled her, much to her frustration and anger. So, with tears streaming down her face, she ignored them, walking towards her destination. After a few steps, however, she heard a scream come from one of the boys. She had turned around to see the cat now the size of a mountain lion dart off. After finishing the monthly shopping, she described what had happened to her mother. The look on her parents face were priceless, to say the least. Of course, the incident had to be resolved by the Ministry. Memory wipes and all that. But Rose could indeed cast magic! In a month or so of time, Rose had received her letter from Hogwarts. And she knew she was ready to fully step into the world of witches and wizards.

Claire grew up in a single-parent household. Her dad, Russell, never told her why her mother left them. How could he explain that her mother had left them out of regret after having a child with a muggle like him? He couldn't explain it. He barely even knew what the word 'muggle' meant. It was one of the only details he retained when Claire's mother had told him stories of her life as a 'witch.' Claire didn't know her mother was a witch until she received her Hogwarts acceptance letter.
Regardless of her reason, Claire never had a proper mother. She had a paternal aunt that she saw quite regularly, but not enough to fill that void left by an absent mother. She took to cleaning the house, preparing dinner as best she could, and doing all of the things her dad slacked on because he was tired from working all day. He tried arguing against her doing that, telling her that her value is beyond cooking and cleaning, but she insisted that she just liked to be helpful to her dad.
Russell did everything he could to make up for that fact that she had no present mum. He showered Claire with enough love for two parents. He bought her gifts, let her cry on his shoulder, and never, not once, did he make her feel bad for being a girl. When the others in the neighbourhood had small tea parties and other gatherings intended for mother-daughter pairs, Russell often attended with his daughter, holding her hand and putting up with the gossip of the mothers at the event long enough for Clair to feel she belonged.
Claire met her best friends in school when she was seven. Rose, ever the shy one, had moved to London proper from Sussex and struggled with making friends until, one day, Claire saw that Rose looked lonely and offered her pudding up to the girl to cheer her up. They were inseparable ever since.
Hana was the next to join their little friend group. Emigrating to the UK from South Korea of all places, she felt immediately out of place. None of the other children seemed to care much about interacting with her beyond basic politeness and niceties. A nine-year-old Claire took the initiative and invited Hana to spend time with herself and Rose.

As with most accidents, magical or otherwise, Claire's first instance of accidental magic came when she was breaking her dad's rules. She was eight, at the time, and he had reluctantly agreed to let her stay home alone for the few hours between school ending and his own return from work, provided she checked in with the neighbour.
There were a number of ground rules. Conditions for Claire's solitude during her time alone at home. But one of the most important was that she couldn't use any hair-dryers or any kitchen appliances. The last thing Russell wanted was to lose his daughter in a fire, naturally.
That didn't stop Claire. She thought that she'd cook lasagna for her dad and have it ready when he returned home. It was pre-made, simple lasagna that only had to be thrown in the oven, but it was still a big step for an eight-year-old.
Unfortunately, being eight, Claire completely forgot about the food she'd put in the oven well over an hour ago. It wasn't until she smelled a burnt, charcoal-like scent wafting through the house that she remembered. In a panic, she ran to the kitchen, grabbed an oven mitt from the counter and opened the oven, releasing a puff of black smoke into the kitchen. A fire alarm began shrieking, and her tears began falling as she waved away the smoke, expecting a burnt husk of lasagna.
Oh, boy, was she in for it. She'd broken her dad's rule, thinking she could prove her capabilities and maturity, and all she'd have to show for it was a chunk of charred food that might resemble lasagna and a ruined pan.
However, miraculously, as the smoke cleared from the kitchen, Claire was surprised to see that the lasagna was perfectly fine. It wasn't overcooked at all, despite her having forgotten about it for far too long.
The neighbour ran in moments later, responding to the fire alarm, but she only found Claire standing near the counter, lasagna ready minutes before her dad was meant to come home.
Claire had had no idea at the time that the secret ingredient to saving that dinner had been magic.

First Instance of Magic: Robin absolutely adored Hatchimals and when she got a mystery egg for Christmas, she was thrilled. That was until it hatched out as pink rather than purple. Her dismay was evident as she went through her day, however, as the toy hadn’t been seen, the reason for it was unknown. Yet, when Robin had returned to her room that evening, she discovered the Hatchimal had become the colours of the one she had wanted. Confusion was strong, but worried that if she mentioned it, it would change back, Robin simply accepted this magic and thanked her fairy godmother.

Robin was born the only child of Heidi and Nathaniel Foxsworth. Nathaniel’s family lineage had long been wealthy having always owned a lot of land. In early years, the family made money through farming but as the centuries moved on this turned into a real estate company that remained quite successful due to the cleverness of the Foxsworth heirs.
Heidi, on the other hand, came from a rather middling family of no significant importance. Her beautiful red hair, slim figure and bright green eyes, however, easily attracted the eye of Nathaniel. While his parents urged him to set his sights on someone of a more esteemed background, the stubborn man refused and married Heidi as soon as he had her father’s blessing. Robin’s birth helped tie the two families together and while her paternal grandparents still looked down upon her mother, they had ceased to actively try to dissuade Nathaniel from the relationship.
The first sign of Robin being different was seen at birth. The newborn had splotches of paler skin, and when her hair began to grow in, the pure white patch above her left temple was immediately noticeable next to the ginger that made up the rest of her hair. Concerned, Nathaniel and Heidi took Robin to see a doctor who very quickly identified that the splotches weren’t simply birthmarks but a result of Robin having been born with a genetic mutation called; Piebaldism. Much like in animals, humans are capable of inheriting this trait that causes some pigmentation cells incapable of making the proteins that result in melanin. Due to this, pale or even white patches of skin and hair would be present on the afflicted person. The doctor also explained that most people affected by piebaldism had a patch of white hair on the frontline.
As it would turn out, Heidi too was affected by piebaldism, however, she had been aware of the name and nature of the affliction. Certainly, she had been aware of her own white forelock, but she had been dyeing it to match the rest of her hair for so long that it had never crossed her mind to mention it to Nathaniel. Once the couple were aware that it was merely a cosmetic mutation and not something that would affect their health, they calmed down. A conversation about it also resulted in Heidi no longer dyeing her white away.
While the Foxsworths were certainly able to be considered wealthy, and Robin’s paternal grandparents absolutely had a proclivity for spoiling Robin during every visit, her parents never actually spoiled her themselves. Heidi very quickly established a rule of teaching Robin to respect money. Gifts were thus given sparingly and mostly for such days as birthdays and Christmas.
When Robin was five, her parents tentatively sent her to a private school. Heidi harboured strong concerns that her daughter would be bullied due to her hair just as she had been. It took a doctor’s note and a few conversations to prove to the school that Robin’s hair was natural and not dyed, but other than that they found no issues. Robin settled in very quickly and often came home excited to talk about the various games and tasks she had done in the day. She made friends easily and generally seemed happy.
Interestingly, around this time, Robin began to develop a strong dislike for the colour pink, just before she turned four. So strong was this dislike that pink clothes ceased to be worn and pink toys often went ignored. Whatever the reason for this dislike, it did lead to a rather unnoticed act of magic. Robin absolutely adored Hatchimals and when she got a mystery egg for Christmas, she was thrilled.
Heidi’s concerns about bullying, did come to fruition when Robin was older. When the classes began to be expected to meet certain social requirements, especially regarding manners and etiquette, the students began to form distinct social groups and somewhat of a pecking order began to become apparent. Robin was about eight at this time and her odd hair colour very quickly found her on the outer side of the social circles. Insecure little girls who were desperately trying to prove their worth to their families began venting their frustrations on Robin. Being one of the poorer students of such a prestigious school, her bright orange hair, coupled with her white forelock, made her an easy target. Due to her condition, not-quite unnoticeable pale patches of skin were, of course, visible on Robin’s body. The students soon took to calling her Blotchy as a way of defining her as different.
As Robin’s misery grew, the decision to homeschool became easier. It would hardly cost more than the school that Nathaniel’s parents had convinced them to send Robin to, and the bullying would not be an issue. What would be an issue was Robin’s socialisation. Homeschooling would isolate her, making it harder for the girl to cope with dealing with people as she grew. Due to this, it was decided that Robin would join her father at work functions whenever it was appropriate. For this purpose, a strong focus on manners and presentation was maintained for a time, giving Robin an appreciation for it. Her paternal grandparents were thrilled to see Robin become a polite little lady.
Heidi, however, was not overly happy with the way that Robin’s childhood seemed to have been completely wiped away during the year. As such, when they went on their annual summer vacation out at Mistwood Farm, Heidi made a point of encouraging Robin to play in the forest that surrounded the little cottage. As a part of this, Robin was encouraged to climb trees, explore and generally spend the day outside getting dirty and enjoying the world of her imagination. During this outing, Robin encountered a boy in the forest. She had been unaware that another child even visited the area, much less lived nearby, as she soon discovered. He was an odd and quiet boy, but seemed willing to accept her presence and even offered access to his treehouse. An offer that Robin gladly took up over the rest of the holiday.
The following year was easier for Robin. She missed her new friend but took solace in the knowledge that she did have a friend. She continued to be tutored at home and Robin soon fell into a calm routine, in which she had a heavy focus on her studies. It wasn’t that Robin had a particular love of learning, it was simply easier to occupy the time by methodically working through the projects and assessments that her tutor gave to her.
When the following summer came and Robin was once again at Mistwood Farm, she worried for a bit about whether River would be as welcoming after a year of not dealing with her. After all, she had no idea what kind of people he preferred to spend his time with. She need not have worried, however, as he was once again welcoming. Although she had arrived at his treehouse in the morning, a time when he was never there, Robin found that he had left her a gift of biscuits baked by his Great Aunt, and a couple of new books to read. Thrilled, Robin had cried happily for a little while that morning before getting into an amazing adventure in which the treehouse was under siege and she was the warrior queen who saw it saved.
It wasn’t that River was particularly enthusiastic with his friendliness, more so, polite and hospitable. Yet, he wasn’t unkind and without any other friends to compare to, Robin soon began to thoroughly enjoy his calm composure. Even so, she would be lying if she said that she didn’t enjoy riling him up from time to time. There was something utterly gratifying about making the rather stoic boy smirk or half smile, if only for a moment. Especially the times when she managed to get him to say something mischievous in his typically placid manner.
A couple more years passed in this fashion, but just a few days before the Foxsworths went on their annual holiday to Mistwood farm, a stranger arrived at their door. This stranger explained that they had an important letter for Robin. They also explained, as Robin read the letter, that she was, in fact, a witch. At first, Heidi had been furious and began telling this stranger that they ought not to be so medieval and that it was cruel to tell a child that they were abnormal simply because of their appearance. The stranger had had a difficult time calming the woman down and it was only through some very safe and innocuous magic that the point was proven.
The stranger had gone on to explain that some instances that had made Robin’s parents confused, may actually have been uses of unintentional, underage magic. They explained that there was a special school for Robin to attend where she could learn to use her magic safely. The Foxsworths were also reassured that the school was full of students similar to Robin and that she would have plenty of support. Bullying would not be tolerated. Although, whether this stranger had realised that their concerns regarded their daughter’s piebaldism rather than coming from a non-magical family, was left quite unclear.
As it was, however, the need to sort out Robin’s attendance at this new school meant that their usual family trip was cancelled for the first time ever. Talks with other family members in order to find a way to explain why Robin would be gone for much of the year, were more than necessary. Especially when it came to handling her paternal grandparents who had already been putting a lot of pressure on Nathaniel to send his daughter to a prestigious school.
To Robin it had seemed like her parents had made far more fuss than was necessary as she was dragged from place to place. The trip to London had been long, and the talks her parents had with various people, even longer. At some point, Robin stopped paying attention to what was going on. She dimly remembered being measured for robes and a uniform. Buying books and weird things for a supposed potions class. Robin’s heart just wasn’t in it, however. She wouldn’t be seeing River. Even if she did, she had had it made clear to her that she absolutely was not allowed to ever mention that she was a witch to him. It was unfair that her one and only friend was to be excluded from all of this.
Things got a little more interesting when she was brought into a shop to obtain a wand. Apparently they weren’t allowed to just buy a good quality one, but had to find a wand that suited Robin. She tried a couple and random things occurred around the store. At first, Robin was quite distressed by the mess and her parents were clearly worried that they would have to compensate, but the store owner simply grinned and reassured them that this was normal when trying new wands. He handed her a third one and this one seemed to glow happily in response to Robin’s touch. After that, Robin’s excitement was reignited, however, she still mourned over not being able to see her friend or show her new books and wand off to him.
First, let me say I loved to read your backstory!STATUS: Pending, Melisande, 23 January
Reason for Pending
But I'll need you to make some changes to your First Instance of Magic.
- The First Instance of Magic should occur between the ages of 3 and 10 and not before or after that. So she couldn't have been a toddler and be able to perform all those instances.
- You described many occasions where Robin used her magic and even if she was a toddler it looked very much like an intentional use of said skills. We need you to give us one-time event when this happened. When something/someone made Robin have this show of magic when she was not expecting it to happen. Because it would be through that one-time event that Robin's name would be written at the Book of Admittance at Hogwarts. You can read more about it here: Link!

𝕸ᥲzіkᥱᥱᥒ 𝕱᥆rgᥱ was born on a cold, quiet morning on the 18th of March, 2013 in London.
Her parents, Lilith and Alexandre Forge, both pure-bloods, were not so happy that she wasn't a boy.
She was their one and only child, and someone whom they never truly wanted. That sometimes made Maze feel quite the need to validate herself, hence the reason why she is such a perfectionist. But she never saw them enough to do so.
Her parents were aurors, and for the most part, she wished that they were as heroic and strong-willed as she thought them to be. Her parents travelled around the world and apprehended dark witches and wizards, that was what she was told.
They were never around, and most of time, she got owls from them in Greece and China, about how they would be home soon. But she knew it was all a lie. Sure, they sent her a monthly allowance, but that wasn't the same as them being with her, raising her, caring for her.
Her aunt Cally, whom she was raised by from the age of 4, was a caring, magical witch, but not one whom enjoyed questions. Aunt Cally had a son, Maze's only company. His name was William, and they were practically siblings.
Their parents didn't like Maze and William mixing with muggles, but Maze often got intrigued by their simple, boring lives. Her aunt lived next-door to a muggle family. Even though they possessed no magic whatsoever, they seemed so content with what they had.
Maze felt a tiny bit like their life was so underprivileged from her own without magic, but those moments when the mother kissed her precious child goodbye before his first day of school, or when the father returned from work after a long day and his family embraced him, she felt as if she were the disadvantaged one.
Even though her aunt's family was just as sweet, she wished she had that with her own parents. She saw then now and then, like small visits to aunt Cally boasting about how amazing the ministry is and how amazing their jobs are. But never about how they missed her...
First Instance of Magic: The first time her aunt was sure IMaze was a witch, was when she had accidentally exploded my aunts favorite lavender flowerpot.
William had taken a chocolate frog of hers, and even though she didn't like them, it would've been better if he had asked politely. When she told aunt Cally, she simply laughed it off, and that made Maze mad. It exploded so quickly, that Maze thought her aunt was actually amazed and shocked at the same time.

- Why doesn't she sees her parents more often? Is because they are busy with their jobs, focusing more in their individual careers?
- When you say that her parents were heroes, want do you mean? You let it opened, as if there are more information about what they do.
- Why was she raised by her aunt? Her parents can have busy jobs but that doesn't mean they would not be able to raise their child.
- If she is a pureblood witch, she would have no knowledge about the muggle world. We even have a class at Hogwarts that teaches about muggle studies. Two completely separated worlds. So how would she feel curious about "their simple, boring lives"? What does she know about the muggle world and how does she acquired that knowledge?

Character Backstory:
Born on February 10, 2013 into a half-muggle, half magic family, Madisyn Jones, along with her six year old sister Clara, are half bloods. Her mother, Elizabeth, who is a witch, taught Madisyn a few things about magic, such as Accidental Underage Magic, explaining that it happened to her when she was nine.
Her father, a muggle born, had no clue about magic until he met Elizabeth. Madisyn and her father have a fairly good relationship. Although it is hard for Madisyn to be super appreciative when her father is always at work.
Before she found out she would be attending Hogwarts, Madisyn loved singing, dancing, and playing her guitar. She got her guitar when she was six, and when she learned her first chord, she fell in love. The first song she learned to play was "Blackbird" by the Beatles. Her father introduced her to that song when she was five and she loved it.
She began dancing at the age of two, with the help of her mother. Her mothers plans before she found out she was a witch was to be a professional ballerina. Her mother decided to teach Madisyn, because her dream was to be a professional ballerina.
Madisyn's sister, Clara, was her best friend, since Madisyn was homeschooled and didn't make many friends. They told each other everything, and Madisyn even taught Clara how to play the guitar, and dance.
Madisyn loves her entire family, and would do anything for them.
First Instance of magic:
Madisyn's first instance of magic was when she was ten. She was particularly frustrated with Clara, whom she had told to leave her alone. Clara, being the six year old she is, continued to annoy the life out of Madisyn. She decided to go up to her room, to calm down. After a few minutes she became even more frustrated, because this had become a normal thing with Clara recently. She knew her sister was only six, and her parents told her that Clara looked up to her, but she also wanted some space. As she got deeper in thought, the glass vase filled with an arrangement of lilies and roses shattered, bits of glass falling to the ground. Her mother rushed into her room, wondering what the commotion was. Madisyn was upset for a couple of days, but soon got over it, realizing that it was her first instance of underage magic.

Character Backstory:
Arcturas is a powerful, intelligent, entitled person. He is very proud of his family lineage, and strongly agrees with their ideals. He is a pure blood wizard , this however did not make him ignorant to the power of muggle borns and half bloods. In truth he admired the fact that muggle borns could use magic with the fact they had no magical heritage. He has a feirce temper and whit but is also kind and caring of others.
Arcturas like most other pure blood children was home schooled by his pureblood parents Nigellas and Tricia, alsong with their house elf heaky. His family life was very secluded due to his family being pureblood maniacs, he learned at a young age the importance of pure bloods and the lineage. He was not aloud to have any friends due to his parents being weary of other peoples liniage and family barely visited. He had a magical family tree set in their victorian styled house which linked him too other pureblood families. Like a lot of the pureblood families he had many house elves in his house and the heads of the elves descendants were mounted on a wall in the hallway. The old victorian styled house was covered with anti muggle spells, to the non magical eye the vast land around and the house itself looked derelict and dangerous. However one you broke through the charms his house was beautiful, the land surrounding it was covered with trees, beautifully kept grass and a small stream. The house itself was a large 4 story victorian styled home, with bay windows, elm woodwork and white stone throughout.
There is no telling when Arcturas first displayed magic as his parents told family members he could move things around his room telekineticly before he could speak, however the most memorable occasion was the time his cousins came to stay. His cousins were 2 years older than him twins who looked alot like Arcturas but with dashing long blond hair in pony tails. They were playing by the stream and for reasons unknown to Arcturas as he was only 4 years old one of his cousins pushed him into the stream and held him under water during an argument. Thats all Arcturas can remember is everything going dark and then his cousin laying on the floor screaming and saying Arcturas had burned his hands. As he didn’t actually do anything Arcturas claimed his cousin was lying but apon further inspection his cousins hands were red raw and blistering. Arcturas held his cousins hands and with that they returned to normal, the argument was forgotten and everyone spoke of Arcturas’s magical prowess that day. And his cousins never attempted anything like that again.
His first instance at Hogwarts was just as expected, the train journey was amazing the great crimson steam train the trolly with all the sweets, even the entrance to platform 9 and 3/4 was magical. During the train ride he sat head in his copy of the book of spells eager to learn as much as possible, the invaluable knowledge that could be held in pages baffled him. He then thought about what his parents told him about their time at the magnificent school, how the sorting hat had placed both of his parents along with all of their ancestors in the noble house of Salazar Slytherin, how the common room was in the dungeons and how you could see the black lake from the sitting area. He hoped he would get to see all this! He was thrilled when the train stopped, all the feelings of nervousness and excitement caused the feeling of having butterflies in his stomach. After the trip in the magically pulled boats to the castle, he with all the other first year students entered the entrance hall to which they were led into the great hall. Upon entering the Great Hall he noticed the Hat his parents told him about perched on a small circular stool, his heart jumped and he found himself strolling staring at the ceiling. The ceiling was enchanted to reflect the sky outside but had candles floating slightly below it, he found himself opened mouthed gaping at the sight of it. A little time later after the names were read alphabetically he heard his name called, he walked up thinking about his parents and family and sat on the seat the moment the hat touched his head it shouted ‘Ravenclaw’. It took him a minute or two to realise what had happened as he walked over to the table where people were clapping and he sat down to eat he noticed the emblem on their school robes, a bronze eagle.

- For your First Instance of Magic, he wouldn't be telekinetically moving objects around before he could speak. First Instances of magic are unintentional bursts of magic due to high intensity of emotions. While there may be more than one instance over the course of childhood, they don't happen all the time when you're a pureblood. You can find more information about First Instances of Magic HERE.
