History/Background Story: Korvina was born to Ayathea and Kasyen Drakzan in the first month of 2013, merely 10 days from the start of the new year. Ayathea was in Gryffindor and Kasyen in Ravenclaw. They met through their jobs. The paternal Drakzan family kept dragons historically, but they had since changed to a different profession starting from Kasyen’s parents. The maternal part of the family came from a small town in France, with Ayathea’s grandparents relocating to England sometime in their 30s. Both of her parents were high-ranking officials in the Ministry, so they were very busy. Despite that, they still tried to spend time with their two children: Korvina and Soren. Soren was younger than Korvina by two years, so they attended the same school.

Soren was exceedingly popular in the neighbourhood and school alike, and many people - both teachers and other students - liked him. On the other hand, Korvina had to try her best to gain the same amount of attention. To gain more attention from both her peers and her parents, Korvina develops a rebellious appearance. The others, not knowing better, were more or less impressed. Some people hate troublemakers, mostly teachers, but most like her refreshing personality.

Because of the growing disparity between the two’s social circles, Korvina developed the mindset that her parents also liked her parents more. While Korvina's parents try to split their breaks evenly to spend time with both children, in Korvina’s perspective, every time they went out with Soren but left her at home, it was another hit to her confidence.

Two years after Korvina’s first instance of magic at age seven, Korvina, now nine years old, found herself being alone at home more often than before. No one was at fault, really. Her parents were worried for Korvina’s brother as he has not had his first instance of magic yet, and they believed that she was more capable of staying home alone now - they never left her for more than a few hours. However, Korvina began to doubt and blame herself for her parents’ ‘preference’ of her brother over her.

While it first developed as mild separation anxiety, it quickly developed into full depression at age ten. Her parents, detecting a change in behaviour, tried to pinpoint what had changed, but Korvina gave them no further hint. She could hide herself unfortunately too well. Her parents gave her their support, but Korvina never went to them for help.
