My mom gave me this journal right before I hopped aboard the Hogwarts Express, telling me that it would be a good idea to write things about myself and my experiences for each year. I wonder why, since she told me that only God and I will be able to read it. Maybe it's to just get my feelings out of my system. I guess I should write about my life before coming here. My dad is a muggle policeman and my mom is a witch! She used to be an Auror she tells me, but she quit when she became pregnant with me to take care of me. They were both always a little stern, trying to teach me what's right and what's wrong. But we all love each other very much! And thanks to them, I've been learning a lot! I'm learning how to cook. I know how to draw. And I'm really close to mastering the guitar! But one thing I really want to learn is how to do magic. I saw mom first do it when I was little, but she said I would learn when it was time. So I waited and waited forever. Then finally, I did it! Well, not intentionally. I accidentally made a kitty really big because I saw a group of kids hurting it. It made me really mad. Maybe that's why mom gave me this book? So that I wouldn't do anything bad or let my emotions get the best of me. I should really thank her when I see her again!
