Despite being the last one standing for the Gryffindors, Lily seemed to not want to give up, and she sent a rather well casted Curse of the Bogies towards Emma, which, unfortunately for the Hufflepuff, had hit. Just as her partner had overcome her sniffles, now it was Emma's turn to start sniffling. She would soon find her stomach churning uncomfortably as her head filled with mucus. At least her partner, AngelFyre, was doing a hell of a lot better. The Hufflepuff cast a successful Knockback Jinx at Lily, who would also still be feeling the effects of the Incendio Duo Emma had cast on her the previous round.
Unfortunately for Emma, this round really did not seem to be her round at all. The Knockback Jinx that she had attempted to aim at Lily would fail so drastically it would backfire onto herself instead. It was honestly a surprise that things had started going wrong for Emma so close to the end of the duel, but hopefully she would be able to pull through until the end. There would be no point in giving up now, anyway. At least Lily would soon find the flames extinguishing from her robes.

Hufflepuff vs. Gryffindor: Match 2

Lily breathed a sigh of relief as her spell worked on Emma. Meanwhile, her robes were still on fire and her temperature was making her very, very hot. Netherless , Lily didn't want to give up especially on her first duel. And then, AngelFyre cast a Knockback jinx. Lily cursed as she felt it's effects. This duel could get better.

AngelFyre had no sooner found herself clear of the Curse of the Bogies than Lily let loose with the curse once again at Emma, hitting her squarely in the chest. AngelFyre winced in sympathy because she knew well just how awful Emma was feeling right now. Trying to cast while feeling nauseated and dripping from every facial orifice was just the epitome of dueling fun - not!
Lily had decided to engage in the match with a vengeance she had not quite shown earlier. Better late than never AngelFyre supposed, but bearing the "better late than never" thought in mind, she got herself into position and quieted her mind as she cast her Knockback Jinx at Lily. The second the stream of light left her wand tip she could tell it would sail across the piste and slam into Lily as planned. Finally! She was back on her game! For the first time in too many rounds, AngelFyre allowed herself a small smile.
And then the smile evaporated as Emma's cast failed and backfired on her own self. That elicited a déjà vu type response in her as a backfire cast was what took AngelFyre out of her second duel. Yes, she and Emma had won, but her victory had been realized upon waking in the hospital wing. She would prefer this win be realized in a moment of jubilant recognition in the actual moment it would take place, with AngelFyre standing on the piste and not lying prone in a bed. How novel would that be?
A niggling, poisonous thought tried to take root, telling her she was not clear yet. She could backfire on herself again, or Emma could send another spell in her direction. AngelFyre shook her head and shut that line of thinking down quick. Nope. Was not going to happen. She and Emma were both going to be standing at the end, and she smiled widely as she reached up to rub her lucky badger pin from Simon. "We totally have this Emma. You will be feeling better in a few minutes. I promise."
She quickly turned her attention to the audience to toss Simon a quick smile, but there was no time to actively search him out. Then it hit her like a freight train. She had not heard him encouraging her on at any point in the match. She had been so focused on dealing with the Bogies she had not noticed until just then. Was he even here? Had he seen any of her match? Was he okay?
AngelFyre turned a steely-eyed focus on Lily and suddenly just wanted this over as quickly as possible so that she could go find Simon. He may need her.

Emma hurt, there was no way about it. Sniffling, she wanted to cry at the dizzy feeling and constant sniffling which was creating a bit of a headache, if she had to be honest. Unfortunately, while she had been successful at dodging earlier, this was not one of those shining examples. Lily had hit her full-on with the Curse of the Bogies that Angelfyre had just gotten rid of. Emma admired the strength of her teammate even more, not sure how she could have handled it and still cast a spell. Emma was frustrated too, because they were so close.
She gingerly smiled at her teammate as she made out a stream of light coming from that general direction, and looking to hit their opponent. She didn’t feel safe enough to jump or even really move, the dizziness causing her to sway slightly, or from Emma’s perspective, the ground was moving. Realizing that the two of the three remaining duelists had cast, Emma squared her shoulders (as best as she could) and raised her wand. Unfortunately as she was casting the Flipendo she hoped to take Lily out with, Emma felt a particularly nasty dizzy spell hit. She wasn’t sure what happened, but fairly quickly she felt a pain not in her head or her nose. It seemed she had hit herself in her confusion. Groaning, Emma raised her arm, about to swipe at her nose, only to realize how gross that would be. Dropping it, Emma realized Angelfyre had said something. “I hope so.” Realizing how whiny that sounded Emma said, “but we’ve got this, and I can hold on till then.” Emma hoped by saying it, she hadn’t just jinxed herself.

With the final round upon them, it was no surprise that all three remaining Duellists were going to try their absolute hardest. Lily, despite being the last one standing for the Gryffindors, seemed determined to not give up. She cast a very well done Dancing-Feet Spell towards AngelFyre, but unfortunately for the Gryffindor, AngelFyre had managed to dodge it. The two Hufflepuffs seemed to have turned towards ruthlessness for these last rounds.
AngelFyre would cast a fantastic Knockback Jinx towards Lily, the latter unable to dodge, and the spell was so strong that it knocked the girl down to the ground. Emma would also cast a Knockback Jinx towards Lily, but she managed to miss, potentially because of the mucus filling her head from the effects of the Curse of the Bogies. It didn't matter much anyway, since AngelFyre's spell was so strong that it had knocked Lily unconscious. Adelaide raised her hand, announcing the end of the duel as she watched Lily be carried off of the piste.
Well, it was quite obvious who the winner was here. "Congratulations to Hufflepuff!" She yelled, "What a well-fought duel from both ends, and a very well deserved win for the Hufflepuffs." She nodded at both Emma and AngelFyre and offered them both a small smile.
HUFFLEPUFF WINS!

Hufflepuff vs. Gryffindor: Match 2

A lot happened quickly... and decisively... and that suited AngelFyre just fine. She buried her worries and concern about Simon. It was not like her fellow to miss one of her matches, so she knew something had to have come up if he was not here. The best thing she could do now was to put all her focus on doing what was necessary to end this match so that she could get to him as quickly as possible.
The beginning of the end started with Lily casting at AngelFyre. It was a Dancing Feet spell, and AngelFyre, no longer under the Curse of the Bogeys, dodged it rather deftly. Then she and Emma both cast their knockback jinxes at Lily. AngelFyre got her casting off just a frog's hair before Emma's, but it would only take one of them to hit to put the young Gryffindor out of the match. And out she went, literally and figuratively.
In a matter of seconds, AngelFyre and Emma had racked up another win for Hufflepuff. There were a couple of shocking firsts for AngelFyre, and she truly had little time to think upon them in the moment. It was her Flipendo that not only knocked Lily down, but literally knocked her unconscious. When Lily went down, and did not get up, AngelFyre was horrified. She could feel the hot tears reflexively spring up and rim her eyes, but she did not allow them to spill over. She had never knocked anyone unconscious before and it was a scary feeling to be honest. She felt confident, having been KO'd in her own first two duels, that Lily would be fine, but even so.
She cast a quick glance out into the audience hoping against hope to see Simon's reassuring face. As a healing intern, she knew he would have seen this sort of thing often. His calm expression would have been a solace to her in those confusing moments of guilt and joy. She desperately wanted to run over to Lily, but the medical staff was already tending to her, and AngelFyre knew she would have only gotten in their way.
She turned a distant focus back to the moderator as she heard Adelaide declare Hufflepuff the winners. Casting a sideways glance to Emma, who was definitely looking not too well herself, AngelFyre grimaced, but quickly ran over to offer her hand to Adelaide in a handshake of warmth and gratitude for her Moderation of their match. "Thank you so much for your efforts here. I appreciate it very much, and did not envy you the task in the slightest." Then AngelFyre nodded her head at the girl with a small, but genuine smile, and looked back to Emma.
Walking over to her, she smiled and crowed a somewhat subdued, "Congratulations on another win, partner. If I knew a healing spell, I would already have cast it on you, but let me help get you to the Hospital Wing. You may get lucky and it wears off before we get there, but I do not want you to be alone until you get help or it runs its course. This curse is surprisingly debilitating," and she smiled softly at Emma.
Taking a last look at the piste before they headed out, AngelFyre reflected aloud to Emma. "You know, it is an odd feeling to actually be walking off the piste under my own steam at the end of a duel. I think I could get used to it," and she grinned, hoping her friend would soon be feeling better.
