Closed Broom Racing HUFFLEPUFF vs BEAUXBATONS - SUMMER 2023

Cassie gripped her new broom, ready to push it to its limits. She needed to speed up if she wasn't going to be left behind by Sylvie and the Hufflepuff racer - but then another racer collided with her and she tumbled off her broom, falling through the air. For goodness' sake!

He should have just stuck to what he did best - racing. Urging his broom to full speed, Raphael leaned into each curve and slipped through even the narrowest of curves in the passageways without a scratch. Shielding his eyes against the bright sunlightwhen he left the shadowed passages, his vision cleared just in time to watch Cassie being knocked clean off her broom. Quirking his eyebrows slightly, Raph decided to suggest some more agility training to her later... completely seriously, of course, and not at all with the intent to tease her a little about the mishap.

Thus distracted, Raphael didn't notice the weird bluish-grey hummer creatures before they were snapping at him. Surprised, he swerved out of the way. Scotland was weird, man.

He'd caught up to most of the racers by now, just Sylviane and two of the Hogwarts kids were still ahead. No matter - he'd catch up in time.

Submitted Plays

Cassie hit the ground hard, but immediately scrambled up. She had to get back on her broom as soon as possible! But everybody else was zooming away from her - would she even be able to catch up if she wasted time now taking to the air? Without her consent, Cassie's hand reached towards the wand holster at her waist. Magic was not exactly her strong suit, but she could try. Raising her wand to target the Hufflepuff boy that was furthest ahead, she called out the incantation for the Knee-Reversal Hex. To her suprise, the hex slammed straight into the boy, and Cassie smirked at the commentator's words. Only a second later, a full grin sprung into place when Sylvie flew straight at the Hufflepuff girl who'd been her adversary this whole race, and knocked her to the ground. "YES, SYLVIE!" she screamed up the track. "YOU'VE GOT THIS!" They were so close!

With a swirl of wand his spell went off, successfully hitting the Hufflepuff racer who was vehemently competing against Mademoiselle Favreau for the leading place. Satisfied, Maxi watched her being knocked back three units, when he glanced a figure coming towards him as if wanting to blatch him. Maxi quickly evaded this attack and gripped on. The race wasn’t over yet.

The race continued, and Sylvie pressed on.

This round, she was determined to do something about the girl who was competing with her for first place, so she went in for a blatch. Certainly it wasn't the daintiest or most dignified move, but it got the job done. The Hufflepuff was off her broom, leaving Sylvie in clear view of the finish line. This was it. There were racers on her tail and if she wavered in the slightest, something could go wrong. This was the moment she had to prove herself. Sylvie gritted her teeth and prepared for the next stretch.

There was a patch of thorn next, and he swerved neatly through it, not getting a single scratch... obviously.

Sylviane and the Hogwarts students were still ahead, but he was catching up. Just as he was thinking that, he watched his team mate knock the short Hufflepuff off her broom. A huff escaped him, but there was also a smile spreading on his face. They were going to win this.
