Bastien was born in Strasbourg, a city filled with cathedrals and old traditions, located in the Alsace region of northeastern France. His family, the Archambeau's, are a famously reclusive pureblood line who have resided for centuries in an ancestral chateau just outside the city and this is where Bastien was raised. His parents, Lucien and Sabine (nee Moreau) are generationally wealthy high-class pureblood French socialites and both have very different styles of parenting. His father, if you could call him that, distanced himself early, leaving the boy to his gouvernantes and mainly his mother. Lucien could often be seen living the high life: partying, gambling and generally wasting money as quickly as possible with no concern for the consequence it might bring. Sabine knew this and saw Bastien as her opportunity to bring the family redemption and bring power to herself as the mother of a prestigious French heir. She "trained" him for years, keeping him close to her side and training him into the weapon she would need to take over the family legacy in the future. The boy grew up thinking he would be a savior, only for everything to tumble down around him at 12 years old, during his last term of his first year at Beauxbatons. A shocking secret was uncovered (in reality, a rumor sold to a rival family) that Bastien was, in fact, not his father's pureblood child, but a bastard of a passionate and short affair between his mother and a muggle. Although yet to be proven by the public, the rumors were true and Sabine knew it. She immediately set a plan into action, moving her household to one of her father's old summer estates in Krimulda, Latvia and sending Bastien off to Durmstrang for his second school year in hopes of protecting his reputation and his status as a pureblood from prying eyes and ears at Beauxbatons. She would travel back and forth from Latvia to France in order to combat the rumors, manipulating those that needed to be bought and getting rid of those that couldn't. Now, Bastien has all but disappeared, losing his identity, his purpose and his status as a prestigious Archambeau to strangers in a foreign land surrounded by those he saw as opponents on his chess board.

At the age of 6, during one of his many fencing drills, Bastien was practicing posture in front of his mother in which he was required to hold a stance and keep his sword out in front of him as "a gentleman must master discomfort to be fully in control."
He was nearing the end of the drill when his blade wavered slightly. Sabine took immediate notice and coldy stated that if he wished to portray weakness, he needed to train for longer in order to overcome it. In response to this, the mirrors all along the walls of the training room shattered and he dropped the pose, sword clattering to the floor. His face remained a perfect picture of stone, however, as his mother looked down upon him.

He ran the drill again and she never told his father.

History: Louis Alexander Eltz Fürstenberg and Leisel Ilse Eltz Fürstenberg were born on April 29th, 2013 in Geneva, Switzerland into the prestigious house of Fürstenberg. Their parents, Friedrich Konstantin von Eltz Fürstenberg and Therese Magdalene von Eltz Fürstenberg (neé von Hohenburg) are nobility from the House of Fürstenberg and the House of Hohenburg respectively. While not common in most wizarding families, the two families were deeply religious. It's said that a member of the family lived in a muggle village and picked up the religion, Christianity. While certain beliefs clash with that of the wizarding world, they made it work. Friedrich and Therese are both German nobility, but Therese was raised in Switzerland and Austria, while Friedrich spent his years in Germany. Therese graduated from Beauxbatons and Friedrich, from Durmstrang. They met while Friedrich visited family in Geneva and Therese, the daughter of a family friend, so happened to be there. Friedrich took a liking to her, and Therese fancied him as well. They established a relationship shortly after, and married the following year. They were 21. Their firstborn was a boy, Konrad Heinrich Eltz Fürstenberg, on their second year of marriage. Their daughter Mathilde Agnes Eltz Fürstenberg was born the third year. Louis Alexander Eltz Fürstenberg and Leisel Ilse Eltz Fürstenberg were twins, born six years later. While Leisel was announced a healthy baby girl, Louis was born deaf. His parents then spent the first two years of his life trying to find something that could give him back sound, failing every time they had a glimmer of hope. Louis stayed at home, watching his two older siblings slowly getting older and attending Durmstrang. Leisel made friends with some other girls, and played on the grounds of their manor, or laughing at jokes he couldn't hear. Louis was upset, confused, frustrated and pained. It influenced his mood and he was angry all the time, this lead to him being difficult. His father was busy with obligations and stayed in his study most of the time with important people or across the globe (though more commonly only around Europe), and wasn't able to give him fatherly love and the boy always felt as if he was ashamed of having such a son. But it was his father that told everyone to learn two different sign languages for the boy. His twin sister was sent to a private day school opened by their wizarding community when she was of primary school age. She would get up and disappear for a few hours, and come back with rosy cheeks and showcasing her brightly colored crafts proudly to their mother. Louis envied her, and pleaded with his mother to let him go. But she wouldn't, couldn't and instead, his father found him a govener, in the hopes of keeping him quiet. He didn't like his govener at all. The boy rejected three goveners and governesses, before Fräulein Sigrid came into the picture. She was gentle, and taught him how to control his temper. Fräulein Sigrid educated him in fields his father thought suitable for him, and the world was slowly pieced together. When he was six, he was able to regain sound partially, and Fräulein Sigrid patiently taught him how to speak and what sound was. Around a year later, Louis could hear completely. Fräulein Sigrid's also a very dear friend to the child, and he loved her as much as he did his mother. Louis was a quick learner and it wasn't long before he was speaking fluently in three of the four official languages in Switzerland: Swiss/Standard German, French and Italian, as well as Bulgarian, Russian and English. He's quiet, and enjoyed reading and educating himself. He is especially fond of finding and using big words. Despite starting to speak almost six years later, by the time he was 10 and ready for Durmstrang, he had a vocabulary and pronunciation that was better than most of his peers. This gave him satisfaction and pride. He was also obsessed with violin, piano, fine arts, sketching, traditional German dances and singing. He managed to get into a prestigious children's orchestra and choir by himself. His parents took them back to Germany, near the big ancestral castle the head of the House of Fürstenberg lived when he was 9, so he could go to Durmstrang with his sister. Greta-Louisa and Nicholas were born the year they resided in their new home. His mother, being a Beauxbatons graduate, thought her school should be where her kids went, but Friedrich stood his ground and said all his children would be going to Durmstrang unless special circumstances. his parents feared exposure to magic would bring more harm, so they did not introduce magic to him nor his younger siblings, allowing them to find magic in their own time. While Louis adored the Swiss Alps, and spending lots of time with his horse, he enjoyed Germany even more. He would spend hours out in the woods, as his father, uncle or brother taught him how to hunt game, use a bow and arrow, and a lot more they thought a boy ought to learn. Luckily, he was a fast learner and it wasn't long until everyone was satisfied with the amount of knowledge he's picked up in a few years time. His favorite was to go horse riding with his two older siblings and Leisel to a little waterfall not far from their home, where they'd put up a tent and spend the afternoon playing. When his younger siblings were older, they all went, occasionally with some of his older brother and sister's friends. Louis gets on well with all his family, although he was more quiet. He loves his parents and looks up to his brother especially, cares for his younger siblings, and his horse, Augustus is his favorite thing in the world. As he got older, the boy would disappear for hours with his horse and a small satchel filled with a book of choice and savory snacks.

Louis was six, and in the Swiss Alps. His brother had taken him to a river near their home, but the little boy had lost him. The child couldn't find his brother, and was crying in panic. He thought he spotted a figure lurking behind some trees and thought his bruder was playing tricks. Then the figure started getting closer, and Louis knew it wasn't his brother. He sensed danger, and ran. The boy saw his brother on the other side and shouted for his attention, but the figure caught him and the boy was struggling . Amongst all the struggle, they got closer and closer to the water, and the boy fell in. The water was quick, and his small frame couldn't bear that much pressure and he was swept along to flow, towards a part that was dangerous, with rocks and boulders lining the place. It also led to a steep drop into a waterfall. His brother was shouting from one side, the figure closing in on the other. The boy reached the end and dropped down. Somehow, he soared in the air and landed gently and safely on the grassy bank, regardless of physics.

All Fürstenberg children were and are beautiful. From the perfect angelic young faces grinning up at you on yellowed out paper, to the more serious teenage children in black and white photos, to the charming individuals grinning from color photos, the genes were passed down perfectly preserved: mother to son, father to daughter, uncle to niece and so on. There is hardly anyone without the stunning faces that crowd family albums and newspaper front pages or magazine covers. Those less fortunate to possess these gifts were simply forgotten as time went on, they ones who loved them died alongside the memories of their existence, only to be pointed out in a corner of a photograph by a sharp-eyed child, with the short answer of "I don't know" when asked who they were a few centuries later.

The Family of von Eltz were known for taking up space in the fashion and beauty world. When Therese met Friedrich, it was in the stars for their children to be breathtaking. Indeed, the older brother and sister of Louis are beautiful: big round eyes with mixed colors, effortlessly styled hair and clean, smooth faces, neat noses and mouths, and smiles that charmed anyone. When Louis was born, he was absolutely breathtaking, with puppy eyes and a small nose that was 'stolen' countless times. Leisel was beautiful, too; and so were his younger siblings. As he got older, the boy had more defined features: fair hair, pale skin, big eyes that was brownish from far away, but were like exploding universes: complex and a mixture of different colors, freckles and his still-small nose.

Passing through streets or shown in front of guests, it would be as if a spotlight was always shone on him. Glances back at him and stares were not uncommon, and the boy basked in it. Early on, he knew that as a child, attention from his looks was the only power he would get. Sentimental guests of his parents, under the influence of alcohol would speak of their children when they were younger to him, and how horrid they turned out. This was disturbing to the boy, and later on, his parents stopped bringing him around the end of a meal. He was grateful for that.

After regaining sound, Louis started by being in a group choir and children's orchestra. But his beauty and talents captured the audience that mainly consisted of wealth benefactors. He was taken apart by a wealthy noble and given a chance to preform a solo in a very important Christmas event. Louis surpassed everyone's expectation, and he succeeded in bringing fame to himself and his family. Afterwards, he became known in social circles of nobility as the beautiful boy who was Mozart reincarnated.

He became envied by peers, valued by benefactors and loved especially by his mother and sisters. Slowly, he learnt how to use this blind affection to benefit himself. Maybe it was the fact his father wasn't able to provide him with all the spanking he deserved, that he weilded his charm to others. But a simple smile and "thank you" "bless you" from him could melt any heart. While he wasn't morally bad and he knew that deceit was wrong, he used it for the "greater good" as he called it, though it was mostly used it to help his siblings and himself when they needed it, and his parents during an awkward moment with guests.
