Saying that Anastasia was close to her mother would be a lie. She never has been, and probably never will be. Mother like father never really showed affection to their daughter and as a result, she didn't really know how to show affection herself. And that had never been a problem. The problem here was that, ever since Andrew Varney had died, the girl's relationship with her mother had worsen. Of course, in the few months that had followed his death, Mathilda Varney had been nicer to her daughter that she had been during her entire life. They had been uniter in the grieving of a husband, and a father.
But it had been two years and the kindness didn't stay long. Mathilda started demanding more and more of her daughter, wanting her to have the best grades, to be her definition of perfect. Each time Anastasia would come back from school, she would be inspecting her grades, criticizing everything that was not perfect. Even when her daughter was in Hogwarts, she would send letters every two weeks to remind her that she had to be perfect, for the family image, to make her proud.
To be fair, during the few months that followed Andrew's death, Mathilda was lost. Did she do something wrong? Did Anastasia do something wrong? Either way, the Pureblood had received a good education, she wore only black for a year, and she was kind and falsely comprehensive towards her daughter. After that period, she knew what to do. Mathilda and Anastasia had to look affected but not to much. They had to work hard, be perfect. She was already perfect, but her daughter? Standards were high, and they were reached quite fast. That meant that standard could be higher, and higher. Anastasia, the Dhampir, her daughter, could and would work hard to be perfect.
Every day during her third year, every single thing she was doing, Anastasia could hear her mother's voice in her mind. Telling her to study more, to exercise more on her magic, to stand straight, to focus. The more she listened to that voice, the harsher it got. But now, she always made sure that everything she did was perfect. She took her time on exams and homework, verifying everything she was writing, content and form. She focused on casting spells not only properly, but perfectly. She knew it would make her mother proud, even if she knew she would have to work even harder afterwards.

The truth, no matter how loudly proclaimed, is a silent force on deaf ears. The Spring Ball was a nightmare for those caught up in the madness of the Entrance. What started as a scavenger hunt, according to sources, ended in bloody madness and near death for multiple parties.
While one incident was clear: Jack Warren had indeed lost his everloving mind and stabbed Pericles in the eye with his wand. The other was not quite so clear: a largely unknown blond boy wrapped Finnegan Connor in a hug and Astra Norrick promptly tried to tackle him away. Connor was stabbed at some point in the brief altercation, and the boy and Norrick each accused the other with venomous intensity. Not even witnesses are clear on what happened.
And so, as it happens in a school of teenagers, the rumor mill began pumping out murderous stories, many centered around Astra Norrick.
Astra maintained innocence, though it was a daunting task in the face of those who insulted her to her face or even simply whispered behind her back. She was angry at them, angry for believing a lie, but quickly began to grow tired of it, and as her resolve weakened, so did her belief in the truth she knew to be real.
Not even the accused knew the real story any more.
"Oi Norrick, hou did ye learn tae gut 'im lek 'at? Did yer auld man teach ye a thing or twa, eh? Ah hear guid auld Hyperion wis pretty ruthless when he wis yer age." a girl in green uniform NPC called to her in the hall one day in May, when Astra's resolve had begun to falter. The girl laughed with her friends at her statement, thinking it extremely clever. The accused stiffened, and turned slowly, a cold expression but fire in her eyes.
"Don't you dare speak of my father like that," she said in a voice calm and even. "My supposed sins are my own, your lies a burden I must carry for myself. Don't you ever slander my father- a good man, an honorable man, better than yours who sleeps with his secretary- with me." She took a menacing step closer to the now nervous girl, who beckoned to her friends to follow her in a quick march towards the stairs, glancing over her shoulder.
(A note: Astra had overheard the girl discussing her father's cheating habits sometime in the week prior.)
Astra had never been scary before, not even with the RBF her mother so lovingly passed down. But now, returning for her second year at this awful school, with the stigma associated with her name, she was an eerie presence, a horrible spectre. All summer, she had fretted, has worried, had been scared that everything would be worse. Apparently, all summer her perceived danger only grew.
Astra was wrestling with the demons while the rest of the world thought her one.

ReducioIf one was to quickly sum up Amberley Morvay in just a few words, it would be meticulous, thorough, and ambitious. A lot of that had to do with the fact that her mother's magical side of the family had disowned them when they found out her mother was in love with a Muggle. Unable to embrace the magical side of her heritage while growing up, Amberley still was incredibly curious about that side and the disownment instilled a fire within her to prove herself, make the Blanchetts regret ever distancing themselves from Amberley and her mother. Throughout her entire life, Amberley always worked incredibly hard in whatever task she was doing. Despite her determination to prove herself, she always had a lack of confidence in herself and her imposter syndrome only fueled her to work even harder. When Amberley arrived at Hogwarts and discovered the sport of dueling, she immediately was fascinated with the sport. It involved quick thinking, quick action, and good foresight, being able to read the room and know what was coming. All of these things were incredibly appealing to the young girl, and she knew that she wanted to join the team. Of course, she quickly learned of the legacy of the Slytherin duelling team and was intimidated to even put her name on the sign-ups. Who did she think she was to sign up for this sport?
So, she made a deal with herself. If she could practice on her own and study enough, she would let herself sign up for the team. Many nights, Amberley's light would be on well past bedtime, combing through spellbooks, reading about the proper incantations and wand movements, tracing them with her hand so her muscles would learn the patterns. After classes, she would head to the duelling club, watching other people practice and observing their strategies. Were they on the offense or did they take a more defensive approach? Which worked better?
As much as Amberley wanted to make a name for herself, she was quite good at blending into the background and simply observing everything happening around her. It was for that reason that she was able to pick up much of her duelling knowledge. While others might call her a recluse for the amount of time she spent with her nose in her textbooks rather than conversing with her peers at the dinner table, Amberley called it preparing for her future. She had always been a planner. This was just her execution of the plan.

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):ReducioVioleta Isadora Roux was in fact a beautiful girl. She was also charming. She had always been. Ever since she left the hospital, everyone called her and her twin sisters beautiful. Though now, that she was in her Second Year at Hogwarts, she started to realize that she had some sort of 'spark' that made her outshine her from her sisters.
Growing up in an upper-class society also meant that she always had to look her best, even when she was alone. Out of her siblings, she knew she looked her best and was the most charming, the one who acted the best at balls and always knew what to say and when to say it.
Her parents always took pride in the fact that she knew what to say and when to say it and her siblings were jealous of the pride her parents had of her, since she was always in the spotlight. Of course, her parents took pride in her siblings too, obviously, but Violeta was her father's favorite, and her mother's favorite was her twin sister, Angel.
Most people started realizing she had this sort of 'spark' and whenever she walked through the corridors of the castle, there was always someone staring at the twelve year old. She looked maturer and had also outgrown most of her old clothes, which she had to replace most.
Even her twin sisters and her older sister realized that she now had this spark that once wasn't apparent. She didn't know if it was her beautiful long brown hair or her light blue eyes that looked like the ocean or even her skin that was always slightly tan and smelled like peaches. The girl actually didn't know if it was just one of these features that made her charming or if it was all of her features tied together.
Her parents always knew that one day she would have this spark, since it was always kind of 'there', however she was still developing it. Now, she had developed it completely, or so she thought.
The girl also had learned how to manipulate people using her charm and wit, which she knew was bad, but she didn't really care, because she always got what she wanted once she used her charms to her advantage. The girl also knew that her charm would come in handy in the future, especially if she ever were to play some sort of sport.

It was summer vacation going into his second year Hogwarts, time for a glow up. Tommy looked in the mirror in his bedroom. He couldn't change his face, and he already liked his hair. What did girls like? Tommy looked at his body in the mirror. What did he lack? What could make girls swoon? Muscles.
Tommy had one month until summer camp. He would get SWOLE. At this notion Tommy looked at himself in the mirror and promised himself by this time next month Tommy would be those sculpted statues of muscular perfection. He ran downstairs. The break had just started, but there was no time for any waste. Efficiency was key.
"Rice, veggies, and unseasoned chicken from now on!" Tommy demanded of his mom. Obviously, this would go as well as any twelve-year-old demanding their parent do something. Terribly. After a short argument, his mother understood his reasoning but told him any girl would be lucky to be with such a handsome young man at him and that she would have to get him a beater bat to keep them off him as was.
A new beater bat sounded nice, but a new six-pack and bulging biceps sounded nicer. Tommy approached his older brother. Instead of helping, he just teased him. Desperate times, desperate measures. Tommy approached his stoic father, a stern man of little words. "If you're serious, do this." Tommy's father handed him a piece of paper with some chicken scratches.
A workout regime for one week. His father also took over his diet schedule. The food wasn't great, and the workouts were hard. Every day targeted a new group of muscles. He was sore everywhere, but apparently that meant it was working. It was incredibly difficult at first, but eventually it became easier and easier. Tommy wanted to push himself. He missed being sore and his muscles aching. He would lift more and more and more until his muscles would be sore.
Tommy began to see a difference in his physique: more defined, more muscular. Surely he would become a Casanova at Hogwarts. Tommy had one other motive to become stronger and more appealing. He knew about the 'beautiful-is-good' stereotype: attractive people are viewed as more trustworthy, a strong motivator for Tommy to cultivate his body, anything to help him lie. If it led to him breaking a few hearts along the way, that would only be a bonus for his ego.

Emma learned. That was what she did. Her mind always jumped to the worse case scenario and to prevent or help deter these kinds of thoughts, she learned what she could. At age 8, after visiting a friend with cancer, she had learned all she could about diseases, anatomy and anything else she could even psychology. Her grandfather made sure he only recommended age-appropriate books, and after a few mistakes on Emma’s part, she came to solely depend on those recommendations.
She did the same once she found out she was a witch although that was more trial and error since it wasn’t like her grandfather would have access to those books. Once she became comfortable in the library, she did start asking the librarian for recommendations just to ensure she didn’t find something completely awful. She was pleased to learn that magic could do so much more than muggle science. It made her feel somewhat hopeful that maybe she could make a difference if her friends or family were to ever be hurt or sick. Which in turn brought her some kind of comfort, especially when she found herself thinking of the worse.
Once she became more comfortable with Hogwarts, her prefect duties and all the other information she felt was necessary to figure out after becoming a witch, and spending more time studying magical diseases/cures, Emma started paying more attention to her friends and family to distract herself from worrying about all the coursework and other things she frequently found of concern. When she did, she found she was regularly finding little tells that let her know who may need support (physical or otherwise). In terms of physical wounds, she purchased and started carrying some basic first aid supplies in her school bag, and any time she needs more, she would either request things from her parents or find it in Hogsmeade. Other types of support, her skills had already somewhat been developed from reading so much and developing her empathy but those are something she could always work to develop further especially as different people responded differently to things. Trial and error to figure out which person preferred a shoulder to cry on versus someone who might just be looking for a space to rant. And even now when she meets new people, she finds herself trying to evaluate those types of things. It was a running joke at least in her family that she was the second mum, just because she was so prepared and supportive.
Through her increased confidence, even if it’s only projected rather than real, Emma’s found that she frequently helps her friends and family just by being near them. She helps them to calm down or at least become calmer than they had been and serves as a good sounding board for solutions. For the physical wounds, she is learning and finding ways to develop those skills, thinking that being a healer or something similar would be a good job in the future. But for the moment, she’s honing her skills further and doing research as she can fit it in around her schoolwork. Emma’s determined that if she can’t protect someone, at least she should be able to support or even heal them if possible.
Admittedly having too much knowledge can sometimes be a burden, especially if she’s struggling herself since her mind can jump to the worst possible thing even if the person is experiencing a minor ailment, but it’s something she’s working on overcoming.

Magic thrummed through Draven's veins like a current through water, crackling from his every joint. It ached to be released, having spent nearly two years encased in the boy's body. His wand was not happy with him, refusing to be set down each time he dared wrap his fingers around it. It was a noxious sort of power. Volatile and out of control, growing far faster than Draven knew how to control it.
The summer had made it worse.
As soon as he'd stepped foot back into Hogwarts, it had practically exploded out of him. The itch to cast had been growing since he'd left for the summer, incessant and present, like a buzzing he couldn't get rid of. He was an addict, and casting was his fix. Couldn't remember how he'd survived without casting, for now the power was flowing from him.
Simple spells quelled the need for a little while. Dampened the ever present noise, the need to reach for his wand. But the thunderbird at his wand's core was anxious to be let out, to be pushed to its limits. So eventually, Draven stopped resisting it. Simple charms turned into proper spells. One hour in the dueling chamber became two. Became three. Became six. It was the only way he knew how to make it stop, how to quiet down his head. Each spell was a breath of fresh air, an easing of the pressure on his chest.
Each spell was a whispered word to a hymn of freedom.
And for perhaps the first time in years, he wasn't scared anymore. The spells were wacky, out of control, grand to the point of absurdity. And that was how it was meant to be. His wand had been made for that exact purpose. It was what he excelled at, a raw sort of power that he needed to learn how to channel rather than dampen.
Casting felt like coming home.
And to a boy whose home had been the Snake Den, there was a special bit of comfort in being able to carry that sense of peace with him now. A reassurance he didn't get from many things.

Despite when Argento was just starting out his magical journey, he might have been scared of things like heights and darkness. But as time passed by, he made himself become more and more used to the Darkness by locking himself in a dark room with just his wands and his wits. The first few times he did that when he was in the care of his loving fathers, they would walk in the room with their wands out knowing how much the young Argento hated darkness. But with time, care and love, Argento learnt to stop being scared of the darkness.
With encouragement from his fathers, and a vote of confidence- Argento made the room dark and with that he conditioned himself to not be scared of the dark. With time and consent practice, Argento started getting better and better at this. He was no longer afraid of anything thus leading to be fearless. No matter what the situation he was in, he would be able to handle it.
Argento learnt that exposure to the things that scared him or made him feel afraid, was the best way to handle the fear that it lead to. With his parents' undying support and love, he knew he could do anything he set his mind on. He let them be his guiding light in the times of need. Thinking of his fathers, kept the young Argento feel a warm gooey feeling in his heart that he couldn't describe- maybe it was the love that he felt whenever he thought about his fathers.
To make things easier for the young Argento, his dads gave him a locket with a heart on it and told him every time he felt scared he should just clutch it and he could pretend he's holding on to his parents' hands-which helped him a lot to deal with being scared. He would do that and have a smile on his face whenever he thought of his parents being there next to him.
So whenever the young Argento felt scared his hand would automatically go towards the locket around his neck and the feeling of being scared would fade away. With time and a lot of practice, Argento slowly stopped holding on to the locket and made himself be stronger. Della has always had a strong affinity for animals. It started when her mother and aunt got her and her cousin a golden retriever. The girls named him Sparky because of his spunky attitude and golden color. Della and Sparky soon became thick as thieves. She trained him to do several tricks, including dramatically playing dead and understanding the rules of backyard football. Now that she's at Hogwarts most of the year, he does seem to be more melancholic, but she makes sure to give him plenty of attention when she's home for the holidays.
Della also has a special place in her heart for snakes—it helps being a Parselmouth. She met a snake named Gus in a backyard once, and he opened her mind to the intelligence and strength of all creatures. She then met her own snake, Greta, also in a backyard. She's now closer to Greta than she was Sparky; Greta can truly hold a conversation and can travel with her to school—but Sparky is none the wiser at least. When she got Greta during the Easter break in the spring of her third year, she was for the first time wholly responsible for the care of another creature. She spent many hours on the muggle internet learning about the care for snakes, and many hours in the Hogwarts library cross-referencing what she had learned. Of course, everything was subject to Greta's final approval. Greta has allowed Della to feel more secure with Parselmouth heritage—it can't be all dark magic and evil if she met her best friend through her language skills.
Della's third year also marked her first Care of Magical Creatures classes, which she excelled at. If Damion is anything, he wants to be perfect in everything he does. He doesn't rush into anything in his life. He never has done that in all his life. He has always taken care and his own time in making sure what he was doing was nothing less than perfect. Whether its in making food with his mother or doing anything else.
Damion has always been a kind of boy who did things to a T. Following the instructions so well that he might sometimes come across as being a nuisance. But it was not Damion's nature to let somethin pass him by if it was not close to perfect or well was perfect. He had spent many day and weeks making sure that whatever he had done was perfect. He would redo his own work many times to make sure there were no mistakes. This might delay the young boy but he didn't want anything he did to have faults.
He remembers a time when he and his mum were cooking. Yes he loved making deserts. He was using a cook book, and had missed a step and ended up making a cake that had sunk in the middle. Damion cried about it for a few minutes before he started to do it from the scratch as he couldn't serve a sunken cake to anyone. He paid more attention to the instructions. Learning that if he paid close attention to what he had to do, things would turn out perfectly. After an hour, the cake that he took out of the oven had risen to perfection, and Damion couldn't be happier about it. He remembers his mum telling him to be careful in whatever he did, because sometimes he might not get another chance to make it correct. As sometimes he might be in a situation that has no escape. Damion was going to make sure that he took his time and never rushed into doing anything as what his mum had told him was right.
