Third Year: Chaser’s Interception
Word Count: 436/400
Reducio

The summer before his third year, Louca was determined to do something to improve his chaser’s game. He felt like he could be better and honestly it gave him an opportunity to play around on his broom, and get his sense of adventure since his parents had decided to settle near one city for the entirety of his summer vacation. But first he had to find someone nearby who was a wizard and would be able to help him. After all, he couldn’t enchant the quaffles and tennis balls he would use for practice himself, and he didn’t want to bother his parents. Plus, it wouldn’t do for a muggle to come upon him while he was practicing.

He was exploring the city, and came across a couple of wizarding house, which he determined were wizarding houses because he never saw anyone go up to them, and it was like the muggles didn’t even notice them. Immediately he bounded up to the first door and knocked, disappointed when no one answered within a few moments. Moving to the second door, he found some luck as an adult answered. Jumping right in, he asked if there were any children about as he was new to the city and looking to make friends. He was in luck as they had two children about the same age as he was. It took a week, but he managed to become friends with them and convinced them of his plan. It helped that one of the children was quite interested in quidditch and wanted to join their school’s quidditch team as well.

Next step was finding a clearing out of the way. But that was no problem as his parents frequently moved their camp and set up in quiet locations anyway. Then it was time to practice. He switched off with the other two children, and they took turns throwing quaffles, tennis balls, pinecones, anything the could find really at the person who was on their broom. At first Louca was frequently battered and bruised by the projectiles, failing to catch many if any at all.
But within a few weeks, more and more he was quickly catching than dropping them. Just before he headed off to summer camp, he even got to the point that he could catch and then throw the projectile back at a target. Though the projectiles frequently went more awry than not. But once summer camp came, he got together a group to continue practicing, and before summer’s end was able to catch and most of the time return to the projectile at a chosen target.

Fourth Year: Charmer
Word Count: 429/400
Reducio

Louca had grown up learning from the masters of deception, his parents. They had learned how to trick muggles out of their hard-earned money, and without the use of magic, just the sleight of hand that muggles were amazed by. It came as no surprise to Louca that he was able to distract and deter people from anything they were fixated on. Of course, it took some time to develop his own skills, and his first few tries were abject failure.

He had first tried it out on some muggles his own age, attempting to distract them from a skateboard that Louca really wanted himself. But his efforts were clunky, and it ended with the muggles laughing at him, taking the skateboard with them and telling him he didn’t know what he was doing. It frustrated Louca and fueled his determination to work on his skills.

He then turned it on his parents, doing his best to charm them from punishing him, or into giving him more allowance, or even allowance when he hadn’t done his chores. They knew what he was doing, and at least in the first few weeks gave him tips to improve but never giving him what he wanted. They had vague hopes of maybe involving Louca in their act, especially as his sleight of hand was quite well developed for his age. As Louca started to improve, even if his parents weren’t taken in, they started to reward him with removing punishments, increasing his allowance or giving part of it to him even though his chores hadn’t been completed.

When Louca returned to school, he continued to work on his skills, convincing other students to get him candy, or give him a special treat they had received from their parents. He wasn’t always successful but more so than with his parents. He found himself setting up a favour trading ring, quickly learning that people were happy to do what you asked of them if you did something for them in return. Plus added a little dollop of sweetness or compliments into the pile. He never really took it as far as having someone do his homework, but finding study buddies and writing partners became much easier.

It wasn’t until he returned home the next summer and immediately jumped into helping his parents that he realized he was able to distract and convince almost everyone that he realized he had been successful. The only ones he wasn’t able to consistently fool were his parents and even then he was more successful than the summer previous.

Claire is rich and a Pure-Blooded girl. Rich, Pure-Blood ladies are nearly royal in the wizarding world. And being royal means you are skilled at many things. Claire was often reminded that as a young girl, by her parents. Her family believed all wizards were equal, but they still couldn't help being a little proud of their money and status. "I was skilled at charms when I was young. Mabie you will be too?" her mère sometimes mentioned. "Come on honey, put that tutoring to good use when you get in that school. Make us proud!" her père occasionally said. After hearing that a few times a year, per parent, nine-year-old Claire really wanted to make her parents proud in some skill of magic. She wanted to show that she was a good girl. And she'll admit she was a teensy bit jealous of all the attention the twins were getting. She'll also admit that she didn't really like young babies. Sure, now that her brothers are older she has an inseparable relationship with them, but that wasn't always the case. So, she decided that she would hide in the family library studying ancient books of magic from The Family Of Ducasse. The family was dying out so the books would probably be hers someday. What would she learn? Defense of the Dark Arts? Too scary for a young child. Potions? No way a kid could learn it all from a book! Then, she realized that it was settled. Charms. Claire's mother was really good at it. The books were fairly easy to understand. When she was ready, she would just ask her parents to cast some spells and she would name them. Easy peasy! She sat in the library for most of the day for a couple months soaking in new knowledge and studying old knowledge. She didn't budge for outside time, games, or family chats. Only when her presence was required did she begrudgingly come. It sometimes got hard and boring, but Claire kept at it. She didn't let herself stop. Claire thought that she might have a talent for them just like her mother. Finally it was the big day. "Mère, Père do some charm spells. I can name them. Please?" said the nine-year-old girl. Her parents were amused, so they did, to humor her. They got more and more surprised as Claire named about fifty charms right ( and sometimes a little history behind the spell, or why the light was a certain color, ) after another with no rhyme or reason to what was cast or who cast it. After the last charm was fired her mother was in happy tears and her father was grinning like he had never seen his daughter that way before. Claire still happily carries that wonderful memory and that important knowledge with her today, as she studies to be an official witch .

Alicia Matthews had always been beautiful, even as a baby. Her parents had been proud of their little baby girl. As a baby Alicia's eyes were always twinkling and she was always laughing, making her cheeks a rosy pink that everyone admired. Even as a toddler, her looks were always complimented on. People always said, "She's a beautiful child, you should be so proud." The older Alicia got the more radiant her looks got. Her eyes shined constantly, her lips were always red and a smile was always on them. Her hair became longer and wavy with the blonde that her mother had always loved from her dad. At 11, however, she turned heads whenever she walked into a room. Her pale skin had a glow to it, she had added pink highlights to her blonde hair, adding definition and even started wearing lip gloss to give her lips a little shine to them.
One of her childhoood friends from Italy had come over the summer before she started Durmstrang. They were going to spend the night together. Alicia had gotten everything ready, putting a blanket fort up in her room and setting out snacks and soda. The minute Lana arrived the two girls squeled and hugged each other. They sat down in the fort and spent hours catching up with one another, when Lana finally said, "I'm sure you'll get a lot of boys looking at you when you go to school, with your looks and all."
Alicia gave her a small smile. "What do you mean?" she asked, tilting her head a little causing her hair to tumble over her shoulder.
"Oh come on. I know your modest but no one can be that modest. You got to notice how everyone stares when you walk past, or how heads turn when people catch site of you. You're only eleven but as you get older you'll be a heartbreaker." Lana explained with a grin. "And not just with the guys, but with girls too. We're in a time where girls date girls and the ones that identify as lezbian will definitly be watching you."
Alicia tilted her head with a soft smile. "I can't look that good. There are people more better looking than me."
Lana shook her head. "You're right and they are called veela. But you...you're a lovely creature. Everything from your head down to your toes."
After that day, Alicia could never get those words out of her head: "Lovely Creature. "

Akihiko had grown up to embody many interests, one of the largest being Quidditch. As a child, he loved to watch Quidditch games whenever his parents or grandparents could take him and watch the players weave through the sky on brooms. He had always been enthralled by the smooth movements of the players in the sky, the fluidity of their dodges and attacks.

Growing up in a large home, there was always someone around who was willing to talk to him, play with him or give him advice on all things, magical and not. Akihiko took full advantage of this, often consulting family on how to become an amazing Quidditch player. While they didn’t entrust him a broom until he was older, part of his childhood included playing with quaffle and bludger like objects to practice for the day when he would actually be able to play for a team.

Of course, it wasn’t always intentional training during his childhood. His cousin, Botan, often played childish pranks which he navigated through. He had learned to spot them, but seeing them didn’t always mean that they could be avoided. Overtime, Akihiko learned how to dodge some of the mayhem, avoiding the many attacks attempted on him.

When Akihiko was finally old enough to go to Mahoutokoro full time, many of his dreams were fulfilled. He joined the Quidditch team as soon as he was able, and doubled down on his training. He was a seeker, which meant he would often be targeted within Quidditch matches and scrimmages. To him, this meant working even harder to guarantee he wouldn’t be so easily taken down.

Mahoutokoro was no ordinary school, and they certainly weren’t training for the fun of the game. No, the school was determined to win. Winning meant practicing, and they practiced often. A team was only as good as their worst player, which is why Akihiko doubled down on his training, with the team and in private. His practice involved not just avoiding bludgers, but also on the ground pivoting, spotting and rerouting.

Overtime, his evasiveness began to translate to his everyday life. While he wasn’t the type to get into trouble, he was able to avoid it within the school. He eventually was able to steer clear of the few instances of chaos within Mahoutokoro’s walls, however uncommon it was to occur. With eventually heightened senses, Akihiko became quick and nimble on his feet and on his broom.

As a proud member of the Sinclair family, Sutton learned to properly hold a wand before she could even talk, even if actually casting magic wasn't an option for the child just yet. The toy wand her parents had bought for her at the time had fit in her hand as if she was born to hold the little piece of wood.

She was far from the first. The Sinclairs have had a number of prestigious witches and wizards to carry their blood. Some traveled the UK, assisting the aurors of the UK's Ministry of Magic, others served the MACUSA in other ways, but the number of Sinclairs who were quite a dab hand at the magical combat arts far outnumbered those who weren't as proficient.

When she was at last allowed to cast magic at school, it was incredible for young Sutton. Though she was only just learning to cast magic, her wand responded to her every command like they were one, single being. Every Knockback Jinx was more forceful than even she, in her arrogance, expected. Every Smokescreen Spell obscured the area and filled her lungs to the point that she couldn't breathe. Even if she lacked the diligence of some of the harder working students, her raw talent was apparent as she flawlessly demonstrated her ability to defend herself with magic.

Even her knowledge held up. Yes, she couldn't be bothered to 'waste her time' reading the chapters in the books, but even after a single demonstration in class of how to, for example, defeat an imp, it was as if her very instincts burned with the knowledge even as she listened to the professor. She couldn't tell you how tall a doxy was, or what its Ministry rating was in the UK, but she knew that a dose of doxycide could stun it long enough to deal with it. She wasn't sure of the finer differences between a ghost and a non-being, but she knew very well that the way to ward off a Dementor was with a Patronus Charm.

Not all of this talent came from her bloodline, of course. She was certainly a talented, if unmotivated, girl. She didn't care about the history of Miranda Goshawk, or how she compiled her Book of Spells, but she could certainly skim each chapter and master the spells that interested her - that is, the defensive (or offensive, if she had her way) ones.

Potion Mastery

Plants. They were life themselves but also offered life. All life on this beautiful planet in which we inhabit thrives because of them. They were not only beautiful, but they could provide fresh air, they could provide a calming environment, provide shelter, they could provide nourishment, they could provide the materials in which to make other things, -they could heal.

If Miles Thatcher wasn't the son of two Thunderbirds and didn't have his love of travel and adventure, he would truly wonder why he wasn't in Pukwudgie. One of the properties of plants that intrigued him the most was their healing powers. He studied them and that led him to the world of potions at a young age. Perhaps it is comparable to a nonwizarding child and playing around with a box chemistry set, but at an early age, Miles had set out an area in one of his grandmother's greenhouses and stocked it with cauldrons. There he would spend time as a young child, pretending to brew magnificent potions. He would spend time with his grandmother, watched her going through book after book on potion recipes and recreate them to perfection.

His grandmother became quite known for it in his wizarding town and others came to her for requests. These requests came sometimes even from healers who just didn't have the time to create some of the long durations, as their focus was elsewhere within their practice. They knew they could place their trust into his grandmother, and even better - she would let him help. (Even if it was just to help collect the supplies needed or pass her an ingredient.) She took all of the money she gained from these purchases and placed into a savings account for Miles, although he wouldn’t know what to spend it on as the boy led a rather privileged lifestyle where his parents and grandmother gave him everything he both needed and wanted.

As he embarked on his time at Ilvermorny, his concentration was on both Herbology and Potions and he began to excel quickly in both classes. When the opportunity came to travel to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, located in the Scottish Highlands, he jumped at the opportunity to sign up. It was a location that was probably similar in climate to his home in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, but would have a very different variety of plant life in which he could study. More plants that could someday be put to use in other ways in which to enrich the lives of others, often through the help of potions. [Word Count: 419]

Evasive Maneuvers

Reducio
They say that we are all made from the same cosmic dust, whether we be human, animal, plant, or anything else that exists in this crazy Universe we call home. Miles Thatcher is no stranger to such thoughts, as he feels at one with nature. He looks up at the skies as night and thinks of his ancestors and how they too once looked up to a similar night sprinkling of stars, wondering what was out there. He looks at the plants around them and feels they too deserve rights to prosper and thrive on this Earth as it is theirs as much as it is human and wizard kind.

Perhaps that is what has developed his free spirit, one to roam around the landscape around him whether it be in the rainforest or the jungle, the savannah plains or a crowded city. His parents are well known magizologisits and have traveled the globe, bringing along their son with them. He has spent time everywhere and that time was mostly spent by himself. He would take the time to climb the tree, to walk along the fallen branch as if it were a balance beam. He would jump from rock to rock to make it across the river. Yes, his sense of what was around him and his sense of balance was quiet developed through his childhood and beyond and here he was, quick and agile to whatever presented itself.

He found it especially helpful in games like quidditch. Yes, as a beater he was mostly set on firing bludgers at others but that didn't mean sometimes those nasty little buggers weren't coming for him! Luckily all that sense of balance and being at one with the Universe seemed to help him have a keen sense to dart out of the way when necessary. It was a skill that put him on his house team in Ilvermorny within his first year and a skill that he figured would help attribute him remaining on the team all his years at school.

Yes, Miles felt that strong connection with the Universe and often used it to his advantage. Perhaps we were all made of the same cosmic dust, but that didn't mean everyone acknowledged it. Some let life pass them by and others were in tune with it all, ready to take in what was beneficial and ready to dodge anything that was not.

Fearless

Reducio
If young lion cub Simba from Disney's The Lion King hadn't said it first, a four year old Miles Thatcher or a seven year old Miles Thatcher or a current, now thirteen year old Miles Thatcher, could probably be heard saying "danger? I laugh in the face of danger, ha ha ha" at some point in his life. No matter the age, Miles always seemed to fall under the philosophy: danger was real, but fear is a choice.

Perhaps it was because his parents were world renowned magizoologists, traversing the globe and writing about their research and findings. Throughout his young life, it was common for him to see creatures such as griffins, runespoors, and yeti. He had seen with his own eyes a dwelling of acromantula, a Chinese Fireball dragon, and a Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon. He had explored Oymyakon, the coldest city in the world located in Russia and had camped at Maracaibo Lake in Venezuela, under the famous 'Catatumbo Lightning' phenomena. Without hesitation, he would join right in, blend right in, and follow along with whatever it was they were doing during their explorations. He never missed a step, never skipped a beat.

Maybe it was because he was well prepared. While coming from a prestigious pureblood upbringing, he still learned all there was to know about survival skills which could possibly one day come into play if he came across the wrong sort of magical being at the wrong sort of time. He had been instructed and he had researched and he was experienced. If a situation was going to wrong the wrong way, he would figure out a course of action. Never would he run. Never would he give up.

Or quite possibly it could be because he had a thirst for adventure. French author and Nobel Prize winner Andre Gide once said, "Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore." You have to let go of fear to experience new things and for a boy living along the Pacific Northwest shoreline, Miles was ready to conquer whatever rested along other cities around the globe, ready to conquer whatever situation that came, ready to conquer any new undertaking.

Whatever the reason, it was there. Just as he was ambitious, dedicated, driven, organized, he was courageous, brave, and confident.

Life - it's either one great adventure or nothing at all.

Advanced Casting

Reducio
What made a wizard a wizard? Of course, it is the magic that they possess within them but how did it get there? Is it stronger in some more so than others? Well, Miles didn't usually subscribe to the pureblooded supremacy sort of thinking and yet, when it came to spellcasting, it seemed that he was one of the top of his class. Was it dedication and practice? Surely not. Was it his pureblooded genetics of generation after generation of wizard that made up who he was? Perhaps.

All he knew is that he didn't have to put much effort into learning new spells, nor did he have to worry how effective those spells were. All he had to do was the bare minimum to understand something new and then he could perform it above nearly everyone. It would never be something he would complain about and he would be thankful for his ancestors for providing him with such a rich magical background.

It had to be genetics, didn't it? Even his own parents were both more than efficient with their wands. They were both magizoologists who worked with the highest classification of magical creatures ever to be discovered and often worked with vicious dragons and yet with just the protection of their wands most times, they were able to be some of the best in their field in researching these brilliant creatures.

It's the way it always was. From the first time he sat in Charms lessons at Ilvermorny with his new wand that he was paired with, it came like magic (pun intended). In all seriousness though, he sat at the front left of the class and listened to his professor explain a rather basic spell and when it was time to practice it, the students began - all not getting something precisely correct because the spell did nothing for them until about the fifteenth try. Miles had picked up his wand, stating the right incantation and doing the right wand movements with the very first try.

And it seemed to continue that way ever since. Even as he was now entering into his fourth year and the spells more complex - he did them with ease.

Yes, successful wandcasting and Miles Riley Thatcher just seemed to go together. Maybe it was those genetics, or maybe he was just somehow naturally talented. All Miles knew was that he was gifted and seemed to hold the ability of advanced casting.

Perfectionalist (408 words)

Reducio

Miles Thatcher was born into the pureblood wizarding family made up of Aldrich and Emmeline Thatcher, famous magizoologist sand renowned authors. The Thatchers have traveled the globe, researching magical creatures, writing about them, and strengthening their home environments so that they can thrive. They attended all of the high society functions in the wizarding world and certainly wouldn't miss a fancy pureblood event. So when little Miles Thatcher was born, although unplanned, he was expected to be perfection because that is what their lives always had been and the Thatchers were determined that it always would be. A baby wouldn't change that. A baby wouldn't ruin that.

He would be perfect.

Miles learned quickly what was expected of him. He would be quiet in times that he was meant to be quiet and he would be social in the times deemed right for him to be social. He would play the part of the perfect pureblood son - saying all the right things and doing all the right things.
This was true even in his earliest years where he would obey his parents and not give in to his imagination and creativity. He would plan. He would prepare. He would be levelminded and levelheaded.

They'd never have to discipline him for being too loud or too impulsive because that would look poorly on his parents' reputation. No, he would go along with them on their ventures and he would do his best to keep interest - usually finding solace in the nature that surrounding him.
A little older and he would learn; learn all he could about magical plants and the creatures his parents devoted their lives to, the places they went, and so forth. He would take in the world and be a quiet observer much of the time, but this information would provide to be quite useful in many situations. Maybe he could spout off an impressive fact here and there.

Once at Ilvermorny, this perfection took another route. He would take on extra practice for quidditch, ensuring that his skills were top notch. It also carried over into his studies, where he would practice and practice and practice how to perform a perfect spell or study and memorize what makes a certain perfect potion.

He might be further away from Aldrich and Emmeline, but they instilled this perfection long ago and he was going to do all he could to avoid being a family embarrassment.

We are no longer updating the spells and potions sections in user trunks. Moving forward, it is the responsibility of the player to maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of their own spells and potions.

Why this matters:
Sport team captains and event moderators may request to see a list of your spells and potions for planning or fairness purposes. You are expected to provide this list yourself. While we will no longer maintain it in your trunk, we can and will verify your claims against your inventory when necessary.

Expectations:
 • Lists you provide must be accurate and truthful.
 • Occasional errors are understandable, but repeated inaccuracies, especially those that give you an advantage, will be flagged.
 • In cases of suspected dishonesty, event moderators or captains may consult with Admin to remove you from an event or activity.
Abilities and Stats:
You should continue to use this thread to add and update your abilities and stat points. These elements remain staff-managed.

Thank you for your cooperation, and for helping us keep the site fair and running smoothly.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

Dylan has always been a compassionate and sweet person. Ever since he was little, he loved to watch his mother heal people. She had become a healer at St. Mungo’s a few years ago before he was born. He could still remember the time when he watched her heal a bad scrape he had gotten on his knee after a hard fall off of a tree in the forest. He had been playing so hard with his cousin that he hadn’t even noticed the end of the fallen tree was right there. He had taken a hard tumble and in an attempt to fall on his feet, he collapsed and scraped his knees across the ground.

It was a hard walk home as he and his cousin Avery walked back. The second they arrived, his frantic mother ran out of the house and gently set him down on the rough wooden porch so she could inspect his knee.

She had sighed in relief when she realized the cut would be an easy fix. Dylan remembered her mumbling a spell that he couldn’t quite understand and he watched in fascination as his knee healed. Ever since then he couldn’t stop asking about it.

A couple years after that day when Dylan was eight, Dylan and his family moved to America as a ‘safety precaution’ after a huge fight had broken out between his mother, aunt and grandfather. No one had told him what exactly happened, but he had the feeling that it wasn’t good.

It wasn’t until his tenth birthday that he received a gift he would treasure forever. The gift of a healing book his mother had found when rummaging through old boxes.

Dylan adored the book and spent every day studying it. He didn’t understand everything in it at first, but with his mother’s careful guidance, he learned.

Deep down Dylan always knew he had a heart for healing that had finally showed its true colors when the book became his own. Ever since that day, Dylan knew he wanted to be a healer when he was old enough. He knew it would be hard work, but he was ready. He spent every day that year studying hard and learning all he could. He knew that someday he would finally get the chance to use the skills he had learned. He just had to wait for that day to finally come.

Upon learning of Kikki’s selection of Broom Racing, her father had immediately hired a tutor to oversee her progress atop a broomstick. She had to be strong and fierce, yet quick and agile. All of these were difficult, and yet the young girl thrived. Kikki was always someone who wished to be part of something bigger. To be a gear turning amongst a machine, to be a key part of the success of a project. She chose Broom Racing because it combined so many things that the other sports wouldn’t even dream of. She could be casting spells left and right, or even chugging a potion in the middle of a match. Kikki could also simply fly, as quickly as possible until she physically could not find it in herself any longer.

Until the summer games, Talvikki was practicing with a full on Broom Racer. He was bigger, stronger, faster, and had loads more experience than she did. So Kikki learned. She adapted. She figured out how to respond to bigger, better opponents. It wasn’t as though she was a pushover— Talvikki was actually tall for her age, had boasted longer arms to match her torso. These helped her, particularly when blatching. Her elbows would find her opponents side and her broom would slam into his broom, attempting to knock him off balance while she shoved him from the broomstick.

Blatching was one of her favorite exercises, simply because it was the area in which she improved the quickest. This was why, at the end of her summer training, she insisted on a full blown race between the two. Her tutor understood her plan, and Kikki didn’t care. Because while she may still need improvement in many other areas, her form while blatching was nearly perfect, and it was incredibly likely for her to topple him from his broom, rather than he to escape to the finish line before she could finish him. And so it was. They lined up for the race, both zipping from the starting line as soon as the words “And… Go!” left the moderators mouth.

It was momentary. It was immediate. It was beautiful. Talvikki lined up her blatch and soon found herself looking down as he was sent tumbling to the ground below. But the difference, this time, before she took off to capitalize on the lead that she’d built? It was the earsplitting CRACK that seemed to echo in the air around them as the broom she had collided with was sent tumbling to the ground as well, this time in two pieces rather than the one it began in.
─────── ABILITIES ──Perfectionist:[reducio]Kikki has, throughout her life, always strived for perfection. Mastering multiple languages, practicing and memorizing any theory that might be remotely helpful later on down the road. She kept a well taken care of appearance, with well brushed hair and impeccable poise. It has been drilled into her that anything less than perfection cannot be tolerated. This is why Kikki always puts her everything into any action she makes. From brushing her broom, to make sure it is sleek, without a hair out of place, to how she speaks to other people. She has ensured that no matter what she does, she will always do it to the highest level, as to achieve perfection.

This has come to the front many times, but particularly when she was writing. Calligraphy was never something that Kikki focused on, as her writing didn’t need to be pretty for others to understand her. This all changed for her in a single moment, as her tutor questioned her place in her family because of messy handwriting. “There’s no way, with that handwriting, that you’re an actual Tähti.” His scornful voice will often surface in her mind when she questions if the effort she puts into everything is worth it. Kikki will always remember the way his eyes scanned her words on the page, before looking back at Kikki with underlying disgust.

Since that fateful day, she would practice how to write with her quill so that the words that flowed out were graceful and elegant on the page, never daring to damage her family’s reputation again. Because as many times as it was hammered into her that she stole their heir and wasn’t a true Tähti, she also was told over and over that her actions reflected their house as a whole. To ruin the family image would be to ruin her parent’s lives, according to how many times she was scolded into perfection.

Now? Kikki brushes her hair and braids it, ensuring there isn’t even a single hair out of place. Now, she takes such good care of her equipment, such as her broom and various stationary as to keep the shining look of brand new and perfect supplies that they need to be. Now, Kikki is too terrified to get anything wrong, lest she bring the entire family legacy toppling down. Instead, she reads all of the textbooks prior to classes. She listens to all the stories about Durmstrang, as to prepare herself for her future. She knows each and every class that she’ll take, she’s heard descriptions of the castle from everyone willing to tell her, and has mentally braced herself to be the very best that she can be: perfect.[/reducio]Broken Broomshaft:[reducio]Upon learning of Kikki’s selection of Broom Racing, her father had immediately hired a tutor to oversee her progress atop a broomstick.
