BLINDVISIONReducioA magical illness went through the tribal village. Many children became ill. Chuki was one of the victims, and it has caused her partial blindness in the end. Panic and desperation could be heard in voices underneath the village tree, with her mother being the loudest. Whatever was spoken underneath the tree, left Chuki's mother bitter. Her mother always left the tree bitter. Her mother gave her the news. Their healers came together, the illness wasn't a common muggle-born illness, and a effective treatment for it would be difficult to do for a large range of children. It would take time. Chuki didn't know how long she would have to wait for her turn. But there was something she hoped as a result, she wouldn't need to return to school. She could stay with her tribe instead. It wasn't like she wasn't used to the darkness. One would often have to travel around the tribe in total darkness at night. It was common for late night to early morning chores.
In the mean time, she would have to learn the world over with no eyes. And so, she did. She learned how to weave baskets without her eyes. She learned how to gather dead wood without her eyes. And eventually, she learned how to play ball again without her eyes. Chuki didn't know how long she has been blind for, and if she would possibly be blind for the rest of her life. Was this be the exchange for begging to stay with her family? Was destiny so gripping on her?
Chuki was suspecting as such until her turn finally came. It was as if she was undergoing a dreamless sleep for so long. The tribe was relieved that the illness wasn't deadly. Yet luck would have it that a few children ended up losing some vision from the effects of the illness. Chuki was one of them.
Despite the odds not being in her favor, Chuki felt more connected to nature. The feeling of the gravel beneath her bare feet. The sounds of faraway animals, contenders of the hunt. The cool movement of wind, and its precious guidance for the birds that are privileged to ride it. Yes, the blindness was a gift, not an illness. Birds do not need to rely only on sight to contend to their hunt. Their smell, their hearing. Their wings.
Surprisingly even, ever since her partial loss of vision, she had became a lot more calm. Less aggression in her behavior. The tribe of women noticed, and her mother also especially noticed. Chuki and her mother sat down to talk. She told her mother how different the world felt now, even more than when she was opened more to the world of magic. Her mother understood, yet still worried. They talked about the tribe, about school. School would be hard. It was outside, and it shared itself with many other students all over the continent. It was like war. "You know war. Show them war." Chuki took the wording literally.WC: 507CALMING PRESENCEReducioChuki loves her tribe. Everything she did, she did it for them. The violent rages, the disrespect she gifted Uagadou finally came to a halt with a forceful sit down by her tribe's chieftress. An argument was assured, with the chieftress easily coming out at top. Uagadou wasn't her prison, it was to be her second home. Her second tribe. Chuki didn't like the idea of a second family. She didn't need a second family. But the chieftress explained to her that Mwanamke was a second family to many.
Chuki didn't understand, and downright refused to until a new bundle of children entered the village. Their former village destroyed and burned away. Chuki was to help until it was time to return to school. A lesson, proposed by the chieftress.
The constant crying at night, the clingliness that never released. Chuki began to wonder if Uagadou was as terrible as she convinced herself.
Soon enough, Chuki learned how to handle the attendance of children. She learned how to multi-task, to organize, and to share. The children began to see Chuki as a figure to appreciate. The frustrated, tired Chuki slowly turned into a Chuki carrying at least three babies, one in each arm and one resting in a sling on her front across the village. She picked up signs on what the children wanted. When they were hungry, tired, or even simply desired to be carried. Chuki understood and attended to their every needs. They began to trust her, depended on her reliability. Chuki did so well keeping the children calm with her presence that it became a bit difficult when it was time for Chuki to return to school.
Returning to school, Chuki learned the meaning of trust. In order for others to trust her, she needed to trust them. The careful feet of her peers whenever she was in the area slowly turned into casual gaits. She started to accept Uagadou as a second family, and began treating her peers like family. The children she attended to back at home opened her mind to welcoming new family.
Any student younger than her found crying ended up getting a rag wiped across their faces and given words of comfort. Chuki didn't know why she started doing it to the children back at her tribe, but somehow it would work. She assumed it would work there.WC: 419MUGGLE CONDITIONReducio
Wands and magic were tools that rarely were used in Chuki's village. Anytime they were used, it was for emergencies. The chieftress didn't like the idea of the village relying on magic. Whether it was because of the fear of being spotted or the fear of relying too much on magic, Chuki wasn't sure. It would be years before she had the right to sit under the tree and speak her mind about it. No matter, the village relied only on their hands. Farming the fields, weaving their baskets, and beadwork. Chuki could argue that she simply is better without her wand when it comes to tedious tasks around the village.
At Uagadou, it was no different. If she could do her school work without a wand, she would. While her peers struggle to remove themselves from their wands, Chuki could simply throw it away and forget about it. She would help her mother often with personal chores, and such personal chores were quite handfuls. Uagadou seems to accept it. Many other of Chuki's peers seem just as content to do things by hand, very much like her.
Even though she was raised in a village that refused to rely on magic most of the time, Chuki started to notice that she is able to figure things out far better than others. She would climb a rope better than her peers that relied on magic, understood muggle tools better even. If magic disappeared one day, how would any of them survive? Would they even survive living among muggles? Chuki was already far ahead. She had sisters, and aunts who are muggles. She ate with them, work with them, and even tended to their care. It would never matter if she was able to use a wooden, magical stick unlike them.
Chuki has always been an active child also. Playing sports was like a second hand nature to her. Being active was a necessity, a form of survival. She always was good when it came to sports, but this year she seemed to do it even better. She threw better aimed objects more often, and her peers noticed too. Eventually she ended up always being the one meant to throw balls when it was time to play sports at school. Chuki was fond of it, it meant her peers trusted her more now when it came to working in a team. It's good for family to trust one another, isn't it?WC: 410
The Mwanamke TribeReducioThe Mwanamke Tribe is a tribe loosely based off of an actual tribe known as Umoja. "Mwanamke" is the Swahili word for "woman". The Mwanamke's own foundation is based more off of witchcraft accusations that target majorly the elderly, disabled, etc. They're a group of women who attend to children and other women affected by outside dangers or accusations. What makes these accusations different is that they may have likely been true. Chuki's mother, as a child, was accused of witchcraft the day her first instance of magic was seen by her own family.
There are also women and children accused yet there was no solid proof. No matter the case, they were all welcomed into the tribe. Those who are only escaping the dangers of Africa could also be found in the tribe. Those who are able to access the tribe usually do so because a member found them and took them in.
The tribe's location is in an area surrounded by mostly wildlife and dangerous terrain. It is not easily accessed by muggles. If muggles were to somehow arrive at the village and weren't invited in, they would be chased off immediately by "screaming banshees."
Because of the reason behind the tribe's creation, it's members purposefully withhold the tribe's location from outsiders who weren't in need. If Chuki is asked about her tribe's whereabouts, she will purposefully ignore the question and anything relating to it. Because she is young, she doesn't have the right to bring in outsiders.

Uagadou NPC
Name: Zyair Ona'je
School: Uagadou
Year: First
Status: Pureblood
Appearance: The most notable feature about Zyair is that he's tall- abnormally so. While most boys his age are anywhere from 4'10 to 5'2, Zyair stands at 5'4. While that isn't that tall for an adult, it is for an eleven year old! Most people tend to comment about his height, and they fail to see his soft smile and dimples, an overall very sweet face.
Zyair's skin is fairly dark, he spends a lot of time outside after all. Unlike most of his friends, though, he takes great pride in making sure his skin is clear and his skin isn't ever ashy. His clothes are always ironed and he tries not to ruin his shirts when he's outside. This transpires over to the way Zyair keeps his hair, keeping it in a high fade most of the time. He likes to think it makes him look like a respectable young man, and it does.
Personality: Not timid, but very, very polite. He always says 'please' and 'thank you', and bows to everyone he speaks to, he's very respectful. People tend to take this politeness as a form of complacency, which does describe him a little bit. He tries to do better, but he's a people-pleaser.
His inability to tell people 'no' is his greatest flaw, thinning himself out in order to make everyone happy. Sometimes he even goes so far as to agreeing to help with friends when he also promised to help his mother with other things. He's been told a million times that it's not healthy to try and help everyone, but he has a hard time with stopping.
History: Born in the Côte d'Ivoire, or the Ivory Coast, Zyair lives in the city of Abidjan with his mother and three sisters. Zyair is the middle child in his family, born on the 11th of November, 2011. Though his eldest sister- a previous Uagadou student, now turned Ministry worker in London- is almost double his age, at 24. His other two sisters are twins, and are the babies of the family. Though they're both only four, they seem to get into more trouble than Zyair ever did growing up!
Zyair's father passed away when he was only a baby, which pains him a bit. His mother would tell him stories of the wonderful things that his dad did, how he was an Auror that spent his time catching evil wizards and witches, and how he did it all to keep Zyair and his family safe. Being an Auror can come at a great cost, and for Zyair's father, it was his life. The details are hazy (that, and he was still young when his mother decided he was old enough to know the truth), his father and a comrade were coming close to a dark wizard, the killing curse was fired, and that was that. Though his mother is transparent about what happened, Zyair tries to tune out all conversation regarding his dad.
Zyair comes from a family of wizards and witches, both his mother and older sister went to Uagadou, but his father attended a different magic school in Africa, though Zyair didn't know the name. If he was being honest, he was pretty thrilled to go to a magic school. Uagadou sounded so fun and his mother had talked it up- it was a very exciting day when Zyair had woken up from his dream with his token in hand.
Besides his immediate family, Zyair has tons of friends that live in his neighborhood, most of which are muggle. His mother greatly encourages him to interact with the people that live nearby, and Zyair was able to learn quite a bit from his friends and their families. In the Côte d'Ivoire, the primary spoken language is French- but his friends speak languages from English to Swahili to even something as far off as Korean! Though he can't claim to actually know how to speak most of them... he only knows a few words in most languages. But knowing a few words is better than knowing none!
Zyair's first instance of magic happened at home, a few days after his fifth birthday. He had been playing with the cute toys his sister had gotten him, when he became overwhelmed with the urge to sneeze. As soon as he did, the stuffed dog he was holding turned into a bunch of bubbles- scaring Zyair senseless in the process.

ReducioZyair's little sisters lose things all the time. They're both young, he gets it, they don't have good object permanence or whatever you call it. He's gotten used to hearing his mother call for him and say 'Chichi lost her toy again, come help her find it!', or something similar to that. Or when a friend says he's lost something and asks for help finding it, Zyair's made a name for himself being the 'finder' of his family and neighborhood.
Today was no different, and not surprising. His friend had lost his bike when a storm went through last night. Zyair might've slept through it, but from what he heard, it was pretty bad. Powerlines had fell down, trees had been uprooted, cars had damage, the works. He was kind of surprised he had slept through such chaos, but now he was awake and ready to help his friend search!
They started out by the neighborhood, looking in the ditches offroad and peering out at the woods behind their houses. When that turned up nothing, Zyair offered to go by the corner store and ask if anyone had seen anything. A red bike with stickers everywhere on it. Apparently they were from some movie his friend loved, but Zyair never was a fan of shows or movies.
"Oh yeah, I think I heard a friend say that there was a red bike near that old house, down the street?" The 'old house' in question was a three-story building that was abandoned like a decade ago or something like that. Boo, that place gave Zyair the creeps. But... well, he promised he'd get his friends bike back, no matter the cost!
Walking to the porch of the old house was a little unnerving, but Zyair wasn't too worried. It had been abandoned for years at this point. But he still didn't want to go too close, what if there were ghosts or something? Just don't think about it, and look for the shiny red bike...
Out of the corner of his eyes, Zyair saw a sticker of a character that his friend always ranted about, and he turned to look at what the sticker was coming from- was that the bike?! Awesome! And he didn't even have to get close to the old house.
As he hopped off the porch, the front door to the abandoned house slammed open- and that was a whole can of worms Zyair was more than okay with not opening! He hopped on his friends bike and left as fast as his legs could take him. It really was a shame that his friend was much shorter than him, it made riding his bike a pain.

Appearance: Please add a bit more of a description of his physical appearance. This could include things like skin tone, hair, eye colour, any distinctive features that he might have (i.e. freckles, a birth mark, etc). Your description of his height is great - super detailed and really good - but try to describe him so someone could start to picture him without seeing a photo.
Personality: Please add some more personality traits. Does he have any bad qualities that people might not like? What are his other good qualities? You've explained his politeness well but what else can you tell us about him?
History: Missing a first instance of magic. When did he first do magic? Describe this situation in a few lines (how, why, when, where, what).
Additionally - since you're going to be a second year in a few weeks, you are allowed to have up to 40 stat points and 2 abilities, if you would like to. You can claim these both now or wait if you're unsure. I just wanted to let you know that you can do this now, if you weren't sure!

Appearance: The average height for an 11 year is if 4 foot 8, the 95th percentile is 5 feet even. the 97th percentile is 5 foot 1. This is usually well pass where we approve new players unless they are part giant or plan on being 6 foot 7 inches. Can we get a date of birth or something to substantiate this being tall for normal, such as being 12 going on 13 (like a Sept birthday).
History: We need a reason for your father's death. It is fine that you do not know, but we need to know this part of your background.
Stats: They only add up to 35, this should be 40 because you are getting your graduation stats now.

N/A Khemet is of mixed Egyptian and Kushite ancestry apparent in his tanned skin, angular features, and tall, slim build. Inquisitive and imperious dark brown eyes look out from a face with high cheekbones and a clean-shaved head.

PERSONALITY
Khemet is an outgoing, confident young man with a strong sense of pride in his heritage. He can come across as arrogant at times and stubbornly sticks to his ways. Though his overconfidence rubs some the wrong way, he backs it with a charisma and wit that can quickly disarm his opponents and endear himself to friends and allies.
While not particularly studious, he did well in his classes and enjoyed learning about the history of Africa. He took a particular interest in alchemy, from which his name is partially derived, and quidditch.

HISTORY
Early Life
Khemet was born on 23 July 2008 at his family's home in Luxor, Egypt. On his father's side, he claimed descent from the Egyptian pharaoh Smenkhkare through the House of Aten. While this has been widely disputed amongst the wizarding community in Egypt, what is not in dispute is his rich family history dating back millennia which included court priests, sorcerers, and alchemists. His was always a family of privilege and influence in Egypt, and it is in this environment of luxury that Khemet was raised.
From a young age, Khemet was instilled with a strong sense of pride in his ancestry and the magical traditions passed down over thousands of years. The family home in Luxor, located on the banks of the Nile River and concealed by an ancient Fidelius Charm, was filled with ancient artifacts, tomes of spellcraft, and tales of his forebears and others. As the eldest son, it was expected that he would become the keeper of these tales, amongst them secrets of the sands where great treasures and great dangers were hidden. Such was the duty of the family as protectors of this knowledge. To ensure that which was hidden and undiscovered remained hidden and undiscovered.
This was largely a duty Khemet took in stride, though he would not truly come to understand the magnitude of this responsibility until later in life when he began his studies at Uagadou. That said, all life was not duty and obligation. Growing up, he was close with his siblings and enjoyed many of the joys of childhood, some of which included exploring the ruins around the city, like the temple complex at Karnak, and visiting ancient tombs with his family.
Khemet's first instance of magic came as a surprise as it did with most children. He had been playing along the riverbank of the Nile with his siblings when he noticed a ripple in the water. The ripple had been stationary but then quickly approached his little sister who had been splashing in the water nearby. Khemet called out but his sister did not hear, causing him to drop his belongings and rush towards the water with arms waving. Moments later a crocodile emerged from the water just a few meters from his sister. He shouted again except this time his voice was thunder, causing the others around him to cover their ears. The sudden crack and vibration caused by the shout forced the crocodile to retreat and Khemet was able to grab his sister and pull her away to safety.
Uagadou
Like all magically talented children on the African continent, Khemet received his dream message when he was ten and completed the necessary ritual to accept the offer to attend the school. When it came time to choose his specialization, he chose alchemy and began advanced studies in the subject.

ReducioExtracurricular: Quidditch, beater (has not changed)Pretty much everyone who knew Zophyr even a little bit knew how they liked to observe. They stayed on the sidelines most of the time, but they knew all the tea. They were there for all the chaos. Noticing what others didn't was their favorite hobby.
Of course, the quiet gracefulness with which they carried themselves was helpful. As was their ability to stay hidden when they felt like it. That way, they could observe things they weren't normally allowed to without getting caught. But watching, discerning the important parts, that was a skill that they had honed over the years. The more they loved it, the more they did it, and the more they did it, the more they loved it. There was something addicting to knowing things other people never cared to. It added an air of mystery to them, which was always cool. But it also made them feel like they had a private look into the way the world worked, the way the gears turned inside the earth.
Yes, anyone could look, if they wanted to. But that was the problem: most people didn't want to. They cared about their own business, which was fair enough, but Zophyr couldn't understand how they weren't the tiniest bit curious about the world and the people around them. Even if what the Uagadou student observed was not always all that useful, it was always captivating. Never a loss of time.
It was one day during the Easter holidays of their second year that Zophyr really realized how alone they were in this habit. Their family were spending a few months in Eldoret, Kenya. Zophyr, their brother Sayel, and Riyani had decided to go to a nearby market as Zophyr had run out of broom polish and Sayel needed new shoes. The market was packed - there were people everywhere. And Zophyr just had to pause a second to look around, even as their parent was trying to get them to hurry and get out of this crowd.
Because there was a little girl over there, probably Sayel's age, who sneakily stole a bouquet of flowers from a store while the seller was looking away, and brought it over to a hunched over old woman with silvery hair and a cane that looked like it had been used for at least three decades. And the hunched old woman smiled a smile that seemed to radiate across time and space, and the girl looked so very proud of herself, and the shopkeeper noticed something was off, but he couldn't seem to figure out what.
And over there, a couple of teenagers sitting on the roof of a house, hiding, their eyes fixated on some adults down below - who were most definitely searching for them, from the frantic way they looked from left to right. But the teenagers were giggling together and drawing on each other's arms while they soaked in their freedom.
And further away, there was a lizard on a stone, laying in the sun, until someone inevitably stopped nearby and blocked the rays from reaching the creature. So it got up, and in that speedy hyperactive way lizards moved, found a new warm rock to enjoy, up until someone else got in the way.
Riyani was pulling Zophyr's arm now, annoyed, but the kid just couldn't tear their eyes away from everything, because there was so much to see. And sure, they really needed that broom polish, but couldn't that wait? It was so unfortunate Riyani hated crowds and being around people so much. They were so interesting.
It was then that Zophyr spotted a nearby potioneer. It was clear this person was of the wizarding world, and there was probably glamour over their stall to make sure muggles thought it was a cheap, fake seer or something. But these potions were real. And this potioneer even more so.
He was chatting with a customer, and though Zophyr couldn't tell what he was saying, he was obviously flirting. So much so that the customer was not paying attention as he put a pink-looking liquid into the potion he was making her. But Zophyr was. They knew their potions well enough to see it was amortentia, and that the customer had not asked for it.
The unfortunate thing was, Zophyr was on the other side of the market, and Riyani was still struggling to pull them out of it. There was no way they could get to her and warn her, and even less of a chance she would believe them. And so, reluctantly, they followed their parent out of the market, looking one last time back at the stall, where the seller was giving the customer her potion, changed slightly unbeknownst to her.
And no one else had seen. Though Zophyr had a small feeling of shame for not doing something about it, their indifference over things that didn't impact them took over. The positive was that now they were rather sure they were good enough at observing that they wouldn't get into any trouble without noticing. Hopefully.
Content Changes: Appearance-wise, I'll be changing their style/preferred outfits as they have developped more of a personal style and care quite a bit about how they look. In the History section, I'll be changing the ages of Zophyr and their siblings since they're all aging up (I'll change Zoph's school year as well). I'm also going to add some more art of them and change their banner. (This will all be done sometime throughout June/July. I'm not sure if you want me to update here again once I've done all that, just let me know if so)
I've also got a rather major character change I'd like to add. At the moment it says Zophyr and their siblings were born and adopted, their parents met, and they lived for a very long while in Sudan. I'm not too sure how I managed not to do any kind of research for this when I wrote it, but for reasons of civil war, their decently carefree life could not have been possible in Sudan. I'd like to change all of these mentions to Algeria. There has been no thread other than their ency that actually says they're from Sudan, so this would not change anything major at all.

It wasn't like Zophyr was trying - it was just who they were - but it didn't take them long to realize how handy it was. People always assumed the best of them, and that was only when they noticed the kid. Zophyr found it easy to sneak around, listen in on conversations, and steal things right in front of someone's eyes. People rarely saw them, and no one suspected the small quiet child to be making mischief. This talent got them a lot of interesting information. They were the first to know of both Telus' and Emayana's first significant others, for just one example. And they always found watching people immensely fascinating. It could teach them whether someone was trustworthy or not, whether they were worth speaking to, or what their ulterior motives might have been. And when they were feeling introverted, this talent could get Zophyr some time alone, without anyone to bother them, because no one knew where they were. The child wasn't sure exactly when or how they got this skill; it was something they'd always seemed to have. Even as a toddler, they weren't often loud. Their ability to hide so well had just always been there. In fact, it was even part of their first memory. Zophyr was probably four or so at the time, and they were hungry. Sure, they'd eaten breakfast a few hours ago, and lunch was soon, but not soon enough in the four-year old's opinion. They were hungry, and they wanted cookies. Unfortunately, their parents kept the cookies hidden, and Zophyr had no idea where to look. So they quietly went into the kitchen where their mother was sitting, and waited in the shadows. Their waiting paid off when, a few minutes later, Alash reached behind the toaster and took a cookie out, munching on it. Zophyr's eyes lit up, and they sneakily crept over to the toaster to take one of their own. The bad news was that the wrapper the cookies came in made a lot of noise, so their mother caught them before they were able to eat their well-earned cookie. But they learned they had a talent that day, and ever since, they've used it whenever they needed it. It unfortunately didn't seem to work when they were trying to steal things, but that was okay. Just being able to listen and observe without being noticed was enough for them.[/reducio]WC=411/400

☽ ✧ ☾ Broken Broomshaft[reducio]Zophyr had flown brooms for a while now. They loved being on a broomstick and racing around, high or low, as long as they were going fast. When they were little they even had a makeshift broom made by Telus in a moment of boredom. But it wasn't until they got to Uagadou that they realized how much they liked the sport. This was different. There was technique, theory and specific ways to do things. You had to lean a certain way at a perfect angle to go where you wanted. That amazed them. The fact that, with practice, if you knew what you were doing, you could do it. And of course, there was the sheer thrill of it all, feeling the wind in their hair and the chill from going so fast and the blur of the ground beneath them. Not one part of it they disliked. There were a few differen sports to choose from, once they decided they wanted to do one. Broomstick racing sounded like something they wanted to do, but when they first saw it they decided it wasn't for them. They liked danger, yes, but they also liked reliability, and there was too much unplanned chaos in broom racing. But from the first Quidditch match they watched, they were sold. The rules were clear, you could go as fast as you wanted, and it looked like so much fun. They'd played a version of Quidditch with their siblings before, but this... this was something else. So, they decided they would play Quidditch. They practiced their skills on a broom even more than they had already been doing, tried out different brooms that their friends let them borrow, and even tried wielding a beater's bat. And when they got home for the summer, they doubled their efforts when playing Quidditch with their family. They wanted to be a beater. It was the perfect mix of danger and rules, for them - being allowed to hit aggressive flying balls at people, for fun. And so, they practiced. But one day, their practice got to be a little too much. Zophyr had been getting stronger lately, and that day, she was feeling determined to do whatever it took to win. She was playing with the kids from her neighborhood (as usual, as a beater), and when the bludger got near her, she hit it to Emanaya, trying to get her to fall off her broom. But Zophyr had aimed a little off, and the ball hit her sister's broomstick instead... with such force that it broke it in half. Thankfully, it wasn't so bad that the parents weren't able to fix Emanaya's broomstick. But it did get Zophyr grounded, and their siblings were reluctant to let them play with them again. Zophyr themselves were very confused at how such a thing could have happened, but it wasn't until a few days later that they realized how helpful such a skill could be. It didn't seem to be against the rules of Quidditch... so why not hone it, just in case?[/reducio]WC=514/400

☽ ✧ ☾ Sixth Sense[reducio]Pretty much everyone who knew Zophyr even a little bit knew how they liked to observe. Chuki, once again, broke another broom while sneaking off to fly with it. She definetely got it from her mother this time. She wasn't sure why it even happens. Surely her strength wasn't that oppressive. But it wasn't only at the tribe where this issue would occur. It would happen in the midst of her schooling. Sometimes not even with a broom. A pencil? Snapped. A stick? Snapped. Even her own arm once. That time it was for breaking another pointless rule at the school. Despite her chieftress' words, Chuki still had a bit of a struggle fitting in with the rest of her peers.
However, whenever it came to going against her peers in anything involving a broom of their own, it conveniently snaps. And it would be around the time when people cheer, and its actually for her. The constant nagging and ear pulling from her mother, her chieftress' disappointment of her failures, almost encouraged her to forever give up on even touching a broom. To becoming a warrioress and standing guard of her beloved tribe when others seek to harm it. A dream that was almost dusted away, that almost encouraged her to leave her own tribe and seek her father.
When she gets on a broom and fights for her second family, she feels just as at home with her first. Her curse would instead become her blessing. Prehaps this is what the chieftress means on earning trust. Her second family can trust her to break brooms as desired, to trust her to make the right choices.
Eventually, Chuki would learn how to only break things when needed. Her sneaking behavior of practicing her flying skills back at Mwanamke would land her without the nagging from her own mother. Her chieftress, while she sure still wary of her, didn't look upon her with such disdain anymore. Soon enough, Chuki will be able to sit under the Tree of Life and her voice will be as important as all the other women in the tribe.
And despite her mother's nagging, Chuki was sure she knew of her secret escapes onto the tribe's brooms. Her mother doesn't really dive into her past, but apparently she was as wild as the young spirited Chuki. She had to do anything to survive before she found her new family.
If Chuki breaking the brooms of her enemies was her way of survival, then so be it.
She'll even keep a tally mark of her fallen enemies.

BLINDVISION Reducio
A magical illness went through the tribal village.
Show them war." Chuki took the wording literally.

CALMING PRESENCE Reducio
Chuki loves her tribe.
She assumed it would work there.

MUGGLE CONDITION Reducio
It's good for family to trust one another, isn't it?

The Mwanamke Tribe
Reducio
The Mwanamke Tribe is a tribe loosely based off of an actual tribe known as Umoja.

Izzi loved quidditch. Even though her team had lost last year when they played at Hogwarts, she let this affect her in any way. In fact, she had decided to take up the sport not only officially but also unofficially at her own school. She had also begun to practice in earnest. In particular, Izzi focused on her natural evasion skills. She regularly took on the practice dummies that throw a variety of balls and other objects at her while she flew about trying to remain unhit and unjured.
Often she would practice with Chuki. She was a racer, but still, broom sports of any kind required a nimble body and a nimble mind! Sometimes she would ask Zophyr to chuck bludgers her way. The girl was on fire with her bat, but Izzi made great strides to avoid the pain of being bonked by her friend's bludgers! To Izzi's way of thinking, one improved through practice and perseverance. Yes, there was natural talent, but she was determined not to rest on unaided talent alone.
As her third year progressed, Izzi discovered that her natural catlike grace had become surprisingly amenable to her training regimen. Sometimes she would play games of chase with other kids, or find some boy to bother until he chased after her. Izzi was rather proud of her record. Khosa, fellow chaser. No competition there! Bekele, another broom racer. Hah! Izzi laughed as she dodged and bobbed among the trees and pillars of the school!
Naturally graceful, her attention to training had made her very nimble indeed! Sometimes Zophy was able to smash her with a bludger, but Izzi found that she was becoming much harder to hit than the average. She had noticed also that would experience a tingling sensation when danger was near. Not like she had a clear vision of its nature, but just an inkling that danger was near. Now that she'd be travelling again for the summer, Izzi really looked forward to honing her skills on the quidditch pitch --- or perhaps even against tiresome boy in a duel!
That would be perfect! A win in quidditch, perhaps a win in a duel. Watching Chucki’s races had also given her the idea to perhaps try that sport if there was going to be any races open to her. Hmm. There was also the question of the kids she’d met last summer. One she recalled had tried to be very kind to her after her team lost the quidditch match. She had brushed the girl off. She hadn’t meant to, but Izzi had really been affected by the match and its outcome. She would seek the girl out and try to make amends.

Cat's Grace:
Izîl arrived at Uagadou, an unknown person in an unknown place. She had older cousins at the school, but they all had their friends and classmates and for the most part, the young Moroccan was left to her own devices. She was naturally not so much shy, but rather a reserved girl. She would not be the one to dash into a classroom at full speed, making a lot of noise and drawing attention to herself. No, that sort of behaviour she had no liking for at all. Mostly it was boys who made so much noise anyway, but Izîl preferred a different approach. She observed. Everything. She watched people. She examined plants. She studied stones. It was relatively easy to sneak up on a tree to study its habits, but Izîl had the gift of another kind.
Naturally quiet and conservative of motion, she was the kind of girl who could simply be in a place where others would congregate and they never paid her much attention at all. She was nothing and no one to them, so they went about their business, studying, talking, gossiping, plotting, planning. Whatever it happened to be, Izîl took it all in. She processed it and kept all those things in her mind. Often times, she simply wanted to be alone and she found it curious that she was able to somehow make herself --- not actually invisible --- but oddly unremarkable. With the exception of the other Berbers in the school, she did not look like southern Africans or the Ethiopians. Even with her tattoos worn proudly on her face, she learned how to walk among people pretty much unnoticed.
Looking back, she found this ability especially useful in her second year when several girls were plotting an extremely foolish and humiliating prank on her friend. She knew the girls, all of them, from classes and other activities, so it surprised Izîl a little when these girls sat down at the table in the great library near where she was sitting. Yes, there was potted palm tree partly obscuring her, but surely they saw her! She remained as still as a hunting cat, and they paid her no attention. She smiled within her heart. Especially, with her Historia ya Uchawi book open, they actually began to elaborate their plot! Six of them! Within earshot! They detailed the timing (the next fulling of the Moon), they detailed the place (the New Moon Gate), and what they would do (stun her, drag her to the Gate and pour muddy water all over her). Izîl could not believe what she was hearing! She really detested pranks, thinking that they were entirely too juvenile to participate in, but this one would embarrass her friend in front of the whole school!
As the miscreants concluded their planning and solemnly promised each other to carry out the deed no matter what, Izîl began to formulate her own plan. She took careful note of each of the six girls and the parts they were to play in the prank. Then she drew up a detailed letter which she had delivered to her friend, warning her of the impending activity and outlining her own plan. As the day of the full Moon passed, Izîl found herself in many places, observing the activities of certain girls. She smiled slyly as one found herself tipped into a fountain; another tripped over a rock that wasn't in her path moments before and broke her leg; still another could not find any of her clothes; a fourth and fifth found themselves in trouble for cheating at an exam; while the sixth found herself alone at the determined time of the prank, only to discover that Izîl's friend contrived to douse the leader of the miscreants with a pail of muddied water! From her place behind a tree, Izîl watched the mayhem and observed how the prankster was outpranked!

Advanced Casting:
Izîl's second year of schooling at Uagadou was quite eventful and she found that she had acquired a strong desire to study. Before, she read frequently, but mostly for enjoyment. Now that her studies were become more advanced, the girl found it more important than ever to take academic reading more seriously. So, she applied herself to improving her natural skills with magic. If her teachers assigned a reading from the textbook, one could be certain that Izîl would read from the primary resources on the topic as well! Especially if she faced some particularly difficult or advanced spell.
For example, she often applied herself most strongly during kutumia uchawi classes. There was a lot less theory and a lot more practical work in this class. Izîl loved to know how and why magic worked the way it did. When studying the advanced fire making spell, the girl was not satisfied, like so many others, with merely learning how to move her wand and what words to say. No. That was not good enough. Perhaps it was so for ordinary understanding, but she wanted more. She needed to know how it worked. So it was that Izîl found her feet treading the now familiar path towards the great library and its thousands of books on magical lore!
Taking out her notes, mostly full of questions that she hoped to find answers for, she methodically worked from there to find first a second year primer that could give her the basics. She was never satisfied with the primers' answers, but they always provided her with an index of resources she could use to delve ever more deeply into the topic. This often led her into books that some people might consider non magiques, as her grandmother called folk who had not been given the gift of magical ability. But these books on chemistry and physics, though usually well beyond her ability to comprehend, often provided her with the answers she was looking for. At least for her questions on how a spell worked.
Her library work paid off! Izîl discovered that, over the course of the year, she was better able to cast spells. Even the harder ones! More often than not, her casting was accurate and powerful. Of course, she was only a second year and no match for a really powerful wizard, yet she felt some pride in her efforts that she was able to accomplish magic not only in a practical way, but also with a better intuition and understanding for how it works.

Chasers Interception:
During Izîl’s second year, she had taken up the game of quidditch. As a chaser. She loved games and sports of all kinds, and quidditch was surely her favourite! She was not big or strong enough to smash anyone with a bludger or block the goal hoops. Nor did she quite have the patience to watch for a tiny golden bird like ball to make its sudden appearance. But what Izîl lacked in strength and patience, she more than made up for in agility and graceful motion of body. She’d already demonstrated a most uncanny ability to be in unexpected places and to move about, not invisible, but often unnoticed. This was a skill that she found applied very nicely to the game of quidditch!
It was true that Izîl had some experience and knowledge of the game from the years she lived in Morocco with her grandmother’s family. After all, her aunt, now adoptive mother, had married an English wizard who was a fan of the game. And as soon as Izîl could mount a toy broom, she was playing the game with her cousins and their friends! Of course, being toys, their brooms were neither terribly fast nor terribly agile, but the girl found that she had a knack for getting the most out of the old broomsticks, and she put her skill to good use. Very often, and always to the chagrin of the opposing chasers, she found that she was able to intercept them when they were passing! And she brought this skill to Uagadou with her.
Izîl considered this to be something of a natural extension of her cat like grace. As the two teams were zooming around, and the chasers were trying to grab one of the quaffles, the girl simply inserted herself into the right place at the right time! One time, she was playing at school, and the other team’s chaser was trying to pass to his team mate. But Izîl simply whizzed up from behind him and just as he let go of the quaffle, she snagged it from him and, turning towards her own team mate, sent it gracefully arcking through the air towards him, and then back again for the goal as she cleared herself from opposing interference! Izîl was most pleased when she heard the other team’s chasers shouting at her that she cheated or cried out in wonder how she was able to just sneak up and steal the quaffle that way!
Now, going into her third year at Uagadou, Izîl had high hopes that she’d play quidditch again and perhaps even for the school team if they should ever go abroad for some wizarding event! She smiled as she thought of some day visiting the great European school of Hogwarts, where her adoptive father studied, and snatching a few goals from one of their ace chasers! Now that would be a game to talk about! In the mean time however, she’d keep practicing this skill during drills and would keep trying to steal the quaffle from her irksome opponents!

ReducioHis entire life, Zyair has been regarded as a polite and calm individual. He never gets mad or loses his temper, his voice is always soft and his mind is always filled with thoughts. His mother brags that he's always been a good boy like that, always follows the rules and has the best manners, is polite beyond belief- he finds himself teetering on the edge of the 'perfect child' and 'so polite it's unnerving'.
He likes creating that type of environment, though. When people become so relaxed in his presence they find themselves rambling on about anything and everything, when they're just as calm as he is. Though it doesn't often go beyond rambling, he likes it when people feel comfortable enough in his presence to just chat and chat, sentences falling after one another. He's had a scenario where one of his friends would pat him on the shoulder and say 'thanks for listening, Zy'. In all honesty, he's not sure what the proper response to that would be. 'No problem, I like listening' sounds too formal. He's glad people trust him nonetheless.
It doesn't just end at his friends, because it follows through his family life. When his baby sisters come to him sobbing and crying, he's the one that gives them a hug and helps them calm down. He also is the one who has to help them deal with their problems when they get fed up with each other, such is the nature of the older brother. But he likes to think that his calming presence is rubbing off on them. Helping the twins solve their problems with calm encouragement means they might help their friends solve their problems without yelling.
He knows that no matter how calming or relaxed his existence is, not everyone will feel the same. Honestly, he's fine with that. If there's only one person in the world that seems to be at ease when he's around, that's one more person than zero. Even if it's just his friends that relax around him, feel calm enough to talk their mind freely, or if it's his teammates in dueling who might feel a little more comfortable when he's on their team, et cetera.
It does bring him joy to know others have trust in him. To trust someone enough to lower your guard around them is the highest honor, Zyair thinks. There's nobody he knows that he feels that safe with, which is fine because he knows that won't always be the case but... people feel that way towards him. It's a nice thing, a nice feeling. People trust him, people feel calm around him, because he is trustworthy and calm. Nice.

Content Changes: Changing how Zyair's family lived in the muggle part of Abidjan to the magical sector, and clarified his family status with his sisters (since his father died before the twins wouldve been born)
Original:
ReducioBesides his immediate family, Zyair has tons of friends that live in his neighborhood, most of which are muggle.
New:
ReducioZyair had, for most of his life, lived in the muggle part of Abidjan. His father liked it there more, said he had muggle friends close by- and it was close to the magical part, too. He knew his mother wanted to live with other wizards and witches instead, but he also knew that his mother wouldn't deny his father of his wants, even in death.
So, color him surprised when he comes back from his trip in London in the summer of 2024, and his mother informs him that they've moved. When they walk back from where he had flood into Abidjan from, she tells him all about 'the little apartment over by another magical family'. Three bedrooms and one bathroom, it's a little smaller than the one they've lived in Zyair's whole life, but that doesn't really matter since 'he's not going to be there all the time anymore'. Really it's not the size of the apartment that shocks him, it's where it is. With other wizards, where the friend of his cousin lives who can cast spells and goes to Uagadou the same way Zyair does.
His mother only tells him that it's 'unfair' that Chichi and Mariam have to grow up surrounded by muggles, and that it was unfair that him and Eba had to do the same. 'It's ok if it's not what Papa wants, he'll be happy nonetheless.' He kind of hates it when she talks about his dad like he's still there, but he sighs and says 'sounds good'.
It wasn't like he had to get rid of all his friends, anyway. Even if he didn't live in the neighborhood, he still could set up days to go out and play kickball or ride bikes with his old pals. It kind of surprises him, how he had become friends with so many people from different backgrounds. He considered himself a 'friendly loner', but that couldn't have been further from the truth. He was more like a 'friendly popular student'.
His 'collection' of muggle friends wouldn't end when they moved. It'd start off simple, one of his magic friends had a cousin or something that were muggle- half-bloods with muggle-born parents or something like that. So him and his friend would go visit that cousin for a play-date, and well that cousin obviously had five or six muggle friends over, so on and so forth. He liked it, if he were being honest. The mix between magic and non-magic was a thick and bolded line, which he thoroughly enjoyed crossing over. Knowing all about muggle literature was his favorite thing.
-
His baby sisters, the twins, are not actually his sisters by blood. His mother's sister passed away right after birth due to complications, and so his mother adopted the twins so they would still be with their family. He's honestly not sure where the father is, but he knows better than to ask. Apparently he's also some pureblood wizard, but Zyair doesn't really care.

It really was a shame that his friend was much shorter than him, it made riding his bike a pain.[/reducio] Calming Presence WC: 450 [reducio]His entire life, Zyair has been regarded as a polite and calm individual. Edited :]Pending, Tristan Theramin, 5/10/2024
Approved your ability, however pending currently due to checking with our team if a pureblood living in a muggle city fits our lore…
The city would have a magical sector and would not be a good explanation for staying in the muggle city for the Ministry. Please change this reasoning, to better explain why.
Edited once more!Pending, Tristan Theramin 6/10/2024
This reasoning makes more sense, however, I have realised that you already spoke about growing up in a muggle town already in your roleplays so we can’t recon that. What we can do now is add that you moved to the magical part of the city afterwards. Please change this accordingly and make sure it matches with what you already roleplayed.
