Zophyr Qethnis Uagadou

Zophyr has warm dark brown skin, the color of dark oak, and sparkling golden eyes. Their hair is bleached platinum blonde and kept in long dreadlocks that they like to put up in a bun or ponytail most of the time. They often wear golden beads in their dreads, along with other golden jewelry, mostly earrings.

Zophyr's build is rather thin, though they are an average height for their age, standing at 5 feet 3 inches, or 160 cm. Though it may not look like it, they are quite athletic, and the fastest runner anyone who knows them has ever met. Zophyr also almost always has a quiet smile on their face, like they know something others don't. This is usually the case.

They prefer to dress in shades of light colors, usally an off-white, with some touches of gold here and there. They care quite a bit about how they look, and rather like dressing up. Light grunge, Arabian nights aesthetic, fancy victorian clothing; you name it, they'll probably wear it if it looks good. They've taken to wearing gold-rimmed round glasses though they can see perfectly fine without them, because if they look good in them, why deprive themselves?

Zophyr was born on the 17th of March 2011 in Batna, Algeria, to Faiz (a pureblood) and Nafisah (a wizard-born) Mabior. Unfortunately, three years later, the two got divorced after many fights about poverety, jobs, and their child. Faiz wanted nothing more to do with Nafisah, and he left she and Zophyr to their own devices. The mother could not afford to keep the three-year old, and as much as it pained her to do so, she put Zophyr up for adoption.

In the summer of 2004, Riyani Qethnis, a genderqueer Senegalese half-blood, moved to Algeria. They had a friend there who was accepting to house them, because they'd just found a fantastic job offer (they worked as a curse-breaker) in Constantine. Riyani was used to moving around the continent from previous jobs, so one more didn't change much. They were planning on only staying there for a year or so, because the job wasn't incredibly stable and, although it payed well, Riyani wanted something else. So the move was only temporary. But that was before they met Alash Nzeyimana.
Alash was a wizardborn herbologist and healer from Burundi. She, too, travelled around the countries of Africa, and had even been to the Middle East on some occasions. Her healing feats were decidedly renowned, especially among Muggles who did not understand how she did it. At the moment, she was in Algeria, travelling around to help those in need.

Riyani and Alash met through the same patient, a half-blood who'd been cursed to slowly lose their health with every passing day. After getting to know each other over a few months, the two realized they were falling in love. They got married in December 2005, and adopted four children over the next nine years. They only stayed in Algeria until 2011, though - it had been too long, and they were travellers. They needed change.
Telus (18 years old in the present), Emanaya (16 years old) and Zophyr Qethnis (13 years old) were all adopted in Algeria, and when the family started travelling the continent again, Sayel (10 years old) was adopted in Egypt. The four siblings grew up moving from country to country, surrounded by their parents' magic and the idea that they would one day go to Uagadou.
