Broom Racing RAVENCLAW vs. SLYTHERIN - SPRING 2024

Announcement

It has come to our attention that Unit 8's Cockatrice has an effect on Stare Down that racers would automatically fail the next obstacle along with the SLOWNESS effect. However, there are players that have already passed the obstacle following the cockatrice (Unit 9's Easy Trees) in past rounds. Due to difficulties in reconciling this, captains have made a decision that players affected by SLOWNESS will not auto-fail Unit 9's trees and will only undergo normal rolls to maintain consistency with the earlier rounds. Current health will remain the same on that regard. This will be an exception and not a permanent change to the rules of this obstacle. We apologize for the oversight, good luck to all our racers!

A few choice words slipped out of Ari's mouth as his spell failed to produce. There were a lot of elements at work here, and he was having a lot of trouble fending them off.

Even more choice words slipped out as a massive plume of fire met Ari on his broom and Clair as well. It burned and stung, but he was still flying. He was still in this. Just burned, exhausted, and not very happy at all. At least Bloom was still at the front of the pack. The sooner she crossed that finish line, the sooner everyone could go to the hospital wing.

Right now, at this moment, seemed like a good time for Bloom. Although she had gone three units back, she found the confidence to move ahead. At this moment, she was in the lead. This did not mean that she was out of the woods just yet. Who knows what their opponents might be thinking of doing this time around. Of course, Bloom can't be thinking about that. She needed to think about the finish line; a concept that she could feel at her fingertips. "Let's go!" she screamed to herself, keeping herself going.

Wyatt continued on, until he was off his broom again. Looking ahead, he saw Ava, too, had fallen from her broom. This was starting to get annoying. Believe it or not, but in a broom race, it's comforting to be on a broom, and when you're not, well... It's uncomfortable. You can't win by running to the finish line, can you? No, there's almost certainly a rule against that... right?

Colin saw the opportunity. Like stars in perfect alignment. Colin shifted his balance, not gently as to make a turn, but with violence! His intent was to drive straight at his opponent, and like an occamy, he flew straight at his foe. And Colin's foe appeared to have the same strategy in mind, for they were on a collision course!
