It was another great race Topaz was ready this time! After practicing a lot, she thought she could do this! She wore cozy earmuffs, cute boots, mittens, and was wearing her broom-racing uniform. Topaz couldn't believe this was her 2nd broom racing contest. She was honestly happy. "Welcome, everyone! Racers, please mount your brooms and head to the starting line!" She heard Avery McCall saying that. She got on her broom it was a little wobbly but she controlled it properly. Avery McCall also said "Best of luck to both teams! On your marks. Ready, set...go!" Topaz blasted off and was ready for an amazing round!

Her third race. Not surprisingly, she hadn’t won the last two games, given that itty-bitty curse on the slytherin team that seemed to prevent victory. Still, she stayed on the edges of her group, this time surprisingly joined by a certain @Colin McCoire. Something was wrong with him, she could tell. She tilted her head in his direction, deliberating whether she would say anything. "Hey. We got this, this will be the race we win," She muttered, half for him, half for her.

She took her position at the starting line, her Nimbus 1700 gleaming—as usual. This was going to be an interesting race.

Speed: Top Speed is 6, however when you reach a speed of 6 this increases to a 10% chance that you will auto miss (with anything requiring an accuracy roll) and you will be auto-hit (with anything requiring a dodge roll).

Winter went away, still the yearning state. With all the loss she had in racing or anything, really, her confidence plummeted to the ground. Trying her best wouldn’t give her a definitive win. It’s all about luck. Maybe also determination, but mostly luck. And she got no luck, or rizz for that matter. Her stomach crunched, blame it on the amount of breakfast she ate because she was stressed, but it was because of the race. She was nervous beyond relief. Let’s hope she didn’t drop anything like a bird later.

Bloom grasped her tree-broom by the bark. When the sound echoed, she was ready to speed as far as she could go. Nothing was going to stop her today, not for her last race of her Hogwarts years. So far, it was easy peasy lemon squeezy. Not until she saw the Cockatrice, a creature that was both gross and fiery. As she was flying, the Cockatrice had noticed her. Bloom dodged the creature's gaze as well as the fiery breath that came from it. Bloom felt powerful. However, it wasn't until her eyesight brightened. She squinted, unable to fully see ahead of her. This was not from the Cockatrice. It had to be a spell or something from her opponent. As if not being able to see during the broom race was going to stop her... Or will it?

It was off to the races for the Badass Broom Birds (as they had been affectionately dubbed by fellow racer Clair Fernandez many moons ago), and these flying eagles were living up to Ari's words from earlier, launching a load of battering moves at Slytherin's racers.

He went after Colin, a friend of his, and sent him toppling off his broom. While he was sorry to hurt him, he knew this sport was built on the resilience and skills of racers. If the other couldn't hold onto his broom, that wasn't his problem.

What was Ari's problem immediately after, though, was the passageway he had to fly through, and he didn't make it without some hard knocks to his own body. At least he was still in the air.

That almost could not have started worse for the Slytherin team. Wyatt struggled to cast the spell that June was convinced would be their saving grace, Colin ended up targeting himself somehow, and the two ended up on the ground about ten seconds into the race. Brilliant.

Paige was hit badly. And it hurt. But she couldn't let her team down, not this early in the race. She glared at Topaz, the one who had decided to throw a projectile at her, with pure hatred. She steadied herself on her broom and continued through the track, wearily approaching the narrow passageway.

Thankfully, she weaved through the rocks with slight ease and found herself out of the passageway in no time. Paige smiled as she saw her teammates ahead. They were off to a pretty good start, despite her taking quite a bit of damage.
