Every day was a good day to duel. It did not matter the day of the week or the time or even the place. It hardly even mattered who was duelling so long as two or more were gathered together with the intent of putting their spell casting abilities to the test. It was with this positive attitude that Cassius ascended to the duelling stage and announced the duellists for the next round.
"Esteemed guests," he began to say to the crowd that had gathered around the stage, his best Bruce Buffer impression on full display. "It is my pleasure to introduce our next duellists for the morning!" Spinning in place with a flourish of his school robes, he pointed towards the Slytherin side of the stage. "Fighting for Slytherin we have Ara Villa, Mahlioz Evethisawe, and Lucian Mornstern!" Cheers from the Slytherin supporters erupted as he announced the names.
Again spinning in place, he pointed now at the Gryffindor side of the stage. "...And in this corner we have fighting for Gryffindor: Aries Scythe, Raizel Voltrouz, and Sere Nade!" Now the Gryffindor supporters erupted in applause. So far it was a lively crowd for a morning match and Cassius was loving it.
Stepping back to the side, he shifted his gaze between the two teams. "Now, you know the rules. Stick to them and we will not have a problem. On my mark..." he raised his hand and held it there a moment before dropping it. "Begin!"

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 8
Made by the Coolest Raizel Voltrouz
Date : January 28th, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said Another day, another new fresh-start. Sere has lost count of how many new things she has done during her first year at Hogwarts; but holding a wand and entering the dueling area as an official duellist of Gryffindor is clearly one of these new things.
The British-Korean girl rubbed her nose and cleared her throat several times as the behavior to get rid of her nervousness. Is it going to be that hurt? How much it will hurt? Sere doesn't even know what she will experience later. Her brain starts to calculating all the possibilities so she can manage the feelings that may also follows later. A typical of boring mathematical girl, but at least it's enough to waste her time until the moderator shout her name and she has to actually start the match.
Together with the two courageous second-year lion girls she just met today, Aries Scythe and Raizel Voltrouz, Sere has the ambition to give her best and win her first official duel today, "Do or die. Let's go!"

❂《 ⌜ January 28, 2024 ▎ 12:30-13:30 ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔It's that time of the year again. Normally, Raizel would be thrilled to be standing on this piste and fighting for the glory of her house, have fun as what she would say but lately, things were feeling off for this Gryffindor and after that horrible and frustrating first stage, a part of her want to think: this would be no different from it.
New teammates, ones that she doesn't know the capacity of their skills and experience in duelling. Sure, she probably had seen them around but had she seen them do duels or practice? No. But teamwork is needed to make the dream work so she'll have to believe that they at least are competent enough on the piste but she'll see. Last time, her teammates kept freezing up on her. While a repeat of that is something she doesn't want happening again, she won't get her hopes up.
“Hope you all have enough courage to stand till the very end.” she uttered as she drew her wand, a serious expression present on her face. She had already discarded her fun-loving side for duel. Right now, she's just here to fight for Gryffindor as her duty as a duellist on the team.

This was it, his first duel! Lucian felt pumped as Cassius spoke their names, hearing his house cheer was a different kind of adrenaline. He made eyes across at Rai, this wasn’t the first time they had been in a duelling situation, if he remembered correctly they got detention for it too, before pelting Beatrice with snowballs! Of course, they weren’t friends. Not really. But they… could be acquaintances when the time called for it.
The Lions got cheered and Luci knew it was time to get into the game. Clear his head of everything that was happening at home. Of his situation with his friends. With his cousin. The only thing on his mind was winning this duel for his team, for himself, to prove to his family that he was more than just the boy who got turned into a wolf.
He was a winner.
"Game on," he said to his team. "Let’s win this,"

Feb 3, 2024 (23:08)Ara put her hair up in a quick bun with her clip just before the match started. Right before the Slytherin side was introduced to the crowd. Cheers inevitably erupted as their names were said. The girl wore her usual frown and had her hands behind her back holding her wand as the crowd cheered. It was her first match so it wasn't a time to get cocky over nothing.
Was she nervous? Obviously, but her face didn't show any weakness. She spun her wand behind her around her fingers as the Gryffindors were introduced out of boredom.
"You're only here to win," Ara mumbled to herself as her eyes locked onto the opponents.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 8
Nearly three months had passed since Mahlioz's first duel, but it certainly didn't feel that way. Of course, things had happened since then, but it felt like just yesterday they'd been in the duelling club alongside their two duelling partners... getting beaten by Ravenclaws. Hadn't exactly been a nice experience, but it had been an enlightening one. And now she was back, against Gryffs this time, with two new duellists she did not know.

Thoughts
Well, they sort of knew Lucian. Qrow and Nora did stuff with him sometimes, and she'd heard Colin speak of him before. She had never spoken to him herself, so she could only hope he would be a good duellist. Their other partner was a girl named Ara Villa, who Mahlioz had never met, but who looked very determined to win.
The lions were also mostly people Mahlioz didn't know (man, they really had to socialize more), except for Raizel, who they grinned at. Everyone looked so serious, it was beginning to freak her out. Sure, this was important and all, but they were allowed to have fun.
Well, it was too late to say anything about it now. Let the duel begin!

Oh what fun this duel was going to be. Cassius could see it already as he watched over the first exchange of spells with an attentive gaze. Both sides were on the attack with a variety of tactics in play.
The Slytherin strategy to disable two of their opponents was a commendable one, if their disarming and levitation charms had hit their marks. Those were evaded by the Gryffindors who in turn threw a wind jinx and fire-making spell into the mix. The wind jinx by the second year Raizel was a bold move, but the advanced spell seemed to get away from her, instead targeting her teammate Aries. For her part, Aries was at least able to evade the attack although the effort might have prevented her from doing much else as she did not even attempt to cast a spell.
At the end of the exchange, it was fire that ruled the round. Both Sere and Mahlioz were hit by fire-making spells although only one, Sere, had been set aflame by it. Knowing from experience, those flames would be quite the nuisance and pain if not taken care of.
The duel was just getting started and it was sure to be an exciting one.

❂《 ⌜ January 28, 2024 ▎ 12:30-13:30 ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔Of course, her start was horrible but that's not new, that happens to her all the time. While Raizel did succeed in casting Ventus, it still proves too much for this Second Year, control wise. It's something that she's working on and she got lucky with it a couple of times too, recalling how it was the one that got her a hit against Lea and hindered Argahlon's movements during her unwanted fight with him.
She would've felt bad when it went astray and went for one of her teammates but Aries only avoided her attack and didn't do anything else. Was she that shocked with a spell going for her though? Who knows. But anyway, performance wise, Sere seems to be holding out pretty well which was good, and even got a hit in but now she's on fire. Well, what matters is she's still standing and still ready to fight hopefully.
There was a slight annoyance on Raizel's face due to her spell missing its intended target, making her grip her wand tighter to try and get a steady aim next time. Do better, she told herself in her mind and things could still happen, their opponents missed some of their spells too which is good, not everything that happened was bad. They are still in this game. “Keep at it.” She said to at least keep hers and her teammates' spirits up.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 8
Made by the coolest Raizel Voltrouz
Date : January 28th, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said Gosh! The spell was ricocheted! Sere rounded her eyes in surprised when Raizel's Ventus, the spell that actually Sere never heard before, retargeted itself towards Aries. Luckily, Aries was able to avoid it. Sere understood that Aries maybe frozen in fear so that she shouted, "You're gonna be fine, Aries! Let's go!"
When her turn came, Sere casted a spell she learned in Herbology class, Incendio, targeting it to the beautiful-exotic girl who had caught her attention from the start. Well, Sere didn't know how good they were, so she just casted the spell on one of the Vipers based on her preference.
Sere felt satisfied when the spell hit the target, the first spell she casted in the official duel! But her satisfaction didn't last long when she heard The Levitation Charm casted by the Slytherin boy. Sere evaded that Wingardium Leviosa, but another Slytherin girl also casted Incendio and Sere didn't have time to avoid it.
"Whoa!" In the heat of the flaming fire, another round is coming. Sere raised her wand, I hope this spell works well too.

Well, the round wasn't starting off too bad, all things considered. While Mahlioz had gotten hit with an incendio, she thankfully hadn't actually caught fire, and she'd managed to dodge a different spell Rai had sent her way. Their expelliarmus missed the Gryffindor completely, as did Lucian's levitating spell, but Ara's determination seemed to have served her well, because her incendio hit the first year Gryff fair and square.

Mahlioz grinned. "Nice one," they told their fellow snake, before getting their head back in the game. She could do this. She wouldn't end up in the hospital wing like last time. ...Hopefully.
