Mahlioz had always wanted to be perfect. Everything she did, she did with the most effort possible. She couldn't afford to fail. She couldn't afford to be last. And just being average wasn't good enough, either - she had to be the best of the best, perfect at everything she did.
Mahlioz wasn't exactly sure where this had come from. Her parents never taught her to feel like this - they were decently laid back and always made sure she felt okay if things went wrong. Maybe she'd gotten it from the people at her muggle school: always competitive, thinking every single thing was a contest they had to win. But Mahlioz doubted that was the source. She'd always loved learning, and because of this, there were expectations. Teachers expected her to be the top of the class. Kids expected her to have all the answers. Her family expected her to get good grades. So she had to live up to those expectations.

Unfortunately, this perfectionism ultimately led to some terrible things. If a single thing went wrong, Mahlioz felt terrible. So terrible she might even have breakdowns. She wanted to be perfect - she needed to be perfect. So why was everything getting messed up? Why couldn't she control it all? The perfectionism made her a control freak and she could not get over her mistakes. She was overwhelmed by guilt whenever she didn't do something right. She just wanted to be perfect, but she was human.

Over time, she was able to stop beating herself up so much, but she always felt bad for messing up. Even when it wasn't her fault. When she was first sorted into Slytherin, she was so overwhelmed that she became numb. She had always thought she was going to be a Ravenclaw - she'd been so sure, in fact, that she'd never really given it much thought. But when the Sorting Hat yelled Slytherin, she had blamed herself, thinking she wasn't smart enough or that she was evil. She was thankfully able to get over it with time, but it struck her hard. How much she felt bad for not being as perfect as she wanted to.

There were good things about being a perfectionist, though. She practiced until she could no longer stand. She worked harder than anyone she knew. She became really quite good at things. And her work ethic paid off when she arrived at Hogwarts. Sure, she procrastinated. But when she did something, she put her heart and soul into it. She wouldn't perform a spell or try a potion until she was sure she had perfected it. So although it had its advantages and disadvantages... she would forever be a perfectionist.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: The Muggle Condition (2nd year ability) - prerequisite: Edward is half-blood
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): Edward grew up as a normal kid. He went to muggle school, he used muggle items. The first ten years of his life, he didn't even know that magic was a real thing. For him, it had been something imaginative that is only found in books and movies. He did like those books and read a lot of fantasy novels as a kid. So, naturally when he found out on his birthday that he indeed was a wizard and his dad was too, he was excited to go to Hogwarts and learn all about it. He read all the books and learned day in and day out in his first year at Hogwarts to absorb all the magical knowledge he could get.
Nonetheless, his muggle upbringing is still a big part of his. For example, he sometimes wonders, why there are no e-mails or anything like that in the magical world, just owls. When it comes to technology, he is impressed with what the muggles came up with and what technology can do. Compared to that, the wizarding world sometimes feels like the middle ages to him. He really misses the internet. Information was so readily available in the muggle world. Why is there not an equivalent in the wizarding world, he wonders. At Hogwarts they need to search through hunderds and thousands of pages in books. Muggles just type their search term into a search engine.
He will also never lose contact to the muggle world as long as his mother is alive. She is a muggle and naturally introduces Edward to a lot of things from the muggle world.
It is this mix of muggle upbringing and wizard school that makes him a flexible thinker in all directions. When his classmates would think hard about the right spell, Edward might have already solved the problem the muggle way. Cut some paper? Use a scissors. How to lift a heavy item? Use a lever to get a grip on it, ask others for help or use a pulley. Most of the times, there is some solution from physics, chemistry, crafts or some tool the muggles use that does the same job as a spell, which they might not know yet. The only issue in the magical world is the lack of these tools. Edward would know what to do at home but here in Hogwarts, many items are not available. In the muggle world, he would probably always come up with some solution, no matter if non-magical or magical or some combination of it.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Calming Presence
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio

It's astonishing how repressing your emotions makes you calm. Seriously, you should try it sometime. Did it matter where calm came from as long as it was a real sense of ease and confidence?

June discovered the beautiful art of creating calm not too long ago, inspired by a year of repression and denial. With a practiced precision, June had begun to tuck away her unwanted and unwelcomed feelings into a mental box, little treasures placed delicately into its confines. Frustration? Into the box of emotions. Disappointment? Into the box. An all-consuming anger at the betrayal of your mother and the deep, deep pain she caused you and your father? Even that found its space within the box. June was surprised she hadn't figured this out before, this was simply much a much easier way to function and exist.

Even before said betrayal by that woman, June had begun to neatly pack away these emotions, even from the beginning of the year. Perhaps it stemmed from a desire to avoid being engulfed and immobilized by anxiety and expectation, as she was in her first year of Hogwarts. Whatever it was, though, it had worked.

June resolved to transform herself into an embodiment of collectedness, a masterpiece of composure. Put-together. A shining beacon of being okay and calm and cool and collected and fine. And while perhaps it was not genuine, June's newfound demeanor was seemingly having an effect on others.

First there was Finnegan, who felt at ease enough around June to practice (and fail at) charms, and then even finding solace in her company in the midst of the fall ball. Then it was Monica, who opened herself up to June in the midst of her world falling apart. June's ability to repress and appear calm inspired Monica to do the same. And surely that would never have any negative repercussions on her mental health. And Beatrice, who had found enough calm and confidence in June to ask for flying help. The list quickly piled up, and at this point it was surely more than simply coincidence.

There was something about June, no matter how healthily it came about, that instilled a sense of ease, granting others permission to momentarily cast aside their fears and anxieties, taking a much-needed breath. June's ability to repress and present herself as calm became a catalyst for others' respite, even if it was just for a fleeting moment.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Year II Ability: Prodigal Charms Learner
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

In her first year of school at Hogwarts, Aurora was first looking forward to subjects like DADA, and before she went, she paid no attention to subjects that she didn't find very interesting, like Charms and Herbology, until she found out just how good at those subjects she was, especially at Charms. Aurora began to grow very fond of Charms, and soon it became her favourite magical subject at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Having an average of all O's is no easy feat, and it certainly wasn't easy for Ro, so how did she do it? Do what all good little children who want to get through the living abyss called school as quickly as possible do: She read. In her beginning year at Hogwarts, Ro spent a lot of time in the library, picking out different books to read(admittedly, only the ones with interesting titles for the most part)and reading through all of them.

She learned a lot from these books, mainly the textbooks she practically had to force herself to read through, and therefore maybe was part of the reason why she excelled in school. Maybe. Maybe another part of it was pure talent, but it was most likely the books since you can never rely on just talent alone. Aurora was fascinated with Charms by this point, and she continued to practice. She was going to read, yes, but she would never study her textbooks.

Okay, so maybe she was studying without realizing it, trying(unsuccessfully)to memorize all the spells she could, and mostly just practising them in places like a quiet, deserted study room, a far-off corner in the library, or just in any random place with no people. That was how Ro improved her skills in Charms, along with other subjects too. She had written to her mother when she first noticed her knack for charms and wasn't surprised by her answer.

Ro's mother, in her time at school, had also excelled in her Charms studies, as well as Ro's grandfather. It looked like this "talent" ran in the family, but on the contrary, Aurora thinks that they all just really loved to read. Even though she's still interested to some varying degree in all the subjects and really wants to do well in them, she is very proud of her spellcasting abilities in Charms mainly, and since then, and probably always, even though she had first been looking at Care of Magical Creatures as her favourite subject, Charms still remains her favourite.

Which fits well, because she's quite exceptional at it.

Tes was disappointed that she hadn't made it onto the quidditch team starting out her first year at Hogwarts. She wouldn't consider herself particularly good at the game, and she was happy for her Hufflepuff friends that did get to spend the year on the team, but with how often the roster changed, she'd still hoped that maybe she could make it on the team sooner rather than later. Knowing that she'd need to improve before getting chosen, she spent every chance she could throughout the year practicing to improve her skills.

Starting out, she struggled more than she thought she would. She'd played muggle football and other sports and had even ridden a broom specially made for small children quite often back home. Despite all this, she found that while practicing the different quidditch positions she was practically useless at throwing or catching the ball while trying to wobble around on a school broom. She would like to say the second she hit a bludger for the first time she knew she was meant to be a beater. Really, she just enjoyed the echoing crack when the bat sent the wildly careening ball into the distance and away from her bruised torso from her many failed attempts.

After that she spent day after day enjoying the outdoors running, playing, climbing, and most importantly, hitting bludger after bludger for hours on end after class. At first it would hit her about as often as she hit it, but as time went on and she advanced from standing still on the ground and trying to land a hit, to riding on a broomstick and attempting more accurate strikes at still targets like a dead tree or the goalposts. Sure, she still had a ways to grow, seeing as she was still only eleven and hadn't started practicing seriously until the start of the year, but as her arms and technique both strengthened, she became a formidable beater for a young student.

This all came to a head one day near the end of the school year while she was determined to take advantage of her last few days of proper quidditch equipment. She put her uncertainty about her summer plans, her sadness about having to leave her friends behind, and her frustration towards end of year exams into her swings. Tes was a simple girl, and she knew the best way to relieve her stress was to let it out and not dwell on it. It was as she put every ounce of these feelings into a swing directed at the dead tree she'd been using all year, she cracked one of its thicker branches clean off.

She stared in shock, before whooping with joy and swooping down to see where the branch lay broken on the ground. She'd seen the way some of the beaters had broken players' broomsticks before, and she couldn't believe it. If she could break a tree, surely she could break a broom that was a similar strength! Almost immediately after getting home for the summer, she visited a friend's house and tested out this theory, sending her friend careening to the ground with a broken broom after asking beforehand if she could try. The scolding and hours spent repairing it was worth it, because now she knew what she was capable of.

The acquisition of the wand 112/100
Like every other Hogwarts students, Lucy went to buy her school furnitures and among them was the famous wand. The girl was so exited! She got her wand, and when she got home, her step-father - a wizard - asked everything about it. Lucy told him and he told her that he wasn't sure that this wand would be the best match for her. He contacted one of his friends, that was a wandmaker who came the day after. The three of them talked for over an hour about Lucy's personality, so the wandmaker could know how her wand will be. The week after, the wandmaker came back with Lucy's new wand.
Wand wood: Pine 97/50
Even if Lucy is a nice person in general, greating and small talking with everyone, she would often be seen by her own, with a book, her guitar or a drawing. All her life, she always hated group work and team games at school. She always prefered working on her own or with her best friend.
So yes, Lucy will come great you, make you feel comfortable, but then she will head out and you will not hear from her for a few hours. She hates crowed and loud spaces and she always has been very independent.
Wand core: Phoenix Feather 145/50
Lucy is very stubborn, she will only let down an idea or a project if you put in front of her the flagrant proofs that what she wants or think is not possible or real. And even so, she would continue to think about it. Very good at negociating, you just can't stop Lucy Hendriks. When she has an idea, it's better to follow her in what she's doing. Because even if she would do everything do accomplish what she want, she is not stupid, she would do everything with a few safety mesures.
Because of her mom's and step-dad's jobs, Lucy quickly became very independant. She learned how to cook, repare stuff, call emergencie numbers (if something happens) at a young age. At ten, she just had to tell her parents that she was going to a friend's to go there with no problems.
Wand lenght: 29.6cm 93/50
Lucy is what you could call a free spirit. She is open minded and she has a very critical mind. When she wants something, she would do everything in order to have or do it. And even at eleven years old, she stands for her and others rights.
But Lucy is also a calm and quiet soul, who listens without judging. She is patient in appearence, a bit less in reality. She do not like to be very dramatical, except when she is fighting with someone and that she is being very sarcastic.
Wand flexibility: Stiff 75/50
Lucy, like her mother, is a very stubborn person. She will stick to her ideas until the end. But if you explain to her the how and why, she can change her mind. She has a strong personality, that she doesn't always show when you first meet her. A stiff flexibility for her wand would totally match her strong, stubborn personality and her way of slightly changing it depending on who she is talking to.

During his couple years of duelling experience, Alan had gone through quite some things that involved things such as being set on fire, struck by lightning as well as been the victim of his very own spells which casting he had failed miserably. But one technique against him stuck out despite all else and it was quite bothersome in on itself. The fact that it became quite common to be used against him meant that Alan had begun to anticipate such things to happen. Again it would prove quite bothersome indeed and that thing was being robbed of his vision one way or another. The duel that had been pushing this most was one against a pair of Ravenclaws that had found it suitable to leave him blindfolded for almost the entire duration of the duel and while the overall duel had been a loss for him, Alan had prevailed and stood his ground for an incredible amount of time. Almost as if he had begun to anticipate when a spell was going to hit or rather where it would hit, well that and a few well placed shielding charms that had come to his aid of course. But even in the following duels, other students kept using fog charm or something of that kind against him, while a lot of times the opponents too had been enveloped by some sort of vision restricting charm and that meant Alan had to always school his eyes to look through the thick fog. And while it had been quite a difficult task at first, it seemed like it had grown easier over the time, almost as if he had gotten used to see it as a small nuisance rather than a full out hindrance and who is to say it couldn't be something to aid his victory too? It was also something that Alan had always admired in his often duelling partner Galton Lansdale, as he seemed to be quite untroubled by blindfolds and fog, which made for a quite interesting experience when Alan had first dueled alongside the lad. It was as if Galton had used the lack of effectiveness of fog being used against him to his advantage and wore a cloak of fog almost like a cloak that restricted a direct field of vision against him. Alan had always admired the few duellists he met that could do such a thing and perhaps he should have asked himself such a question earlier, but the question that had come to mind would end up being why Alan himself shouldn't use such things to his advantage too? Being able to adjust his vision to see through fog or entirely rely on his sense of instinct and hearing? He had faith in his speed and dexterity now he just had to grow the confidence to make use of such a skill and making use of it he would, well from now on at least.

Alex was definitely not and has never been an ambitious person. He never chased, or more accurately, he never dreamed of chasing after glory. Just as each person was trapped in their own character, Alex too was confined by the boundaries of his pliant and compatible nature. The expected outcome of this fact was his inclination towards defensive spells more than offensive ones, and his unquestionable preference for healing potions over injurious ones. He held dear the idea of passivism and valued the virtue of healing practices. He cherished the ideal of being able to lessen someone's agony. These were the precise reasons for his interest in herbology and potions. He desired to learn the most effective ways to heal a wound, cure a disease, and minimise the pain. Maybe, at the expense of psychologising it, he was just a boy craving to keep his lovely grandma safe and still.

He had learnt a great deal of knowledge on herbology from his grandmother, she also assisted him to grasp the elementary facts of potion-making. The noble discipline of healing, on the other hand, was something different. His grandmother's skills in this field could be regarded as mediocre at best. So, Alexander quickly realised the fact that he was on his own in this particular journey. This challenge, however, yielded a more effortful approach towards the subject, and it strengthen the young boy's will. He decided to spend a lot more time in the library reading books about healing, and he paid extra attention to the lessons designed to teach them healing spells and potions.

Alexander did not seriously consider healing a career path, he was rather prone to focus on the transformative force of this practice. "I can be a healer, why not?" he mused from time to time, yet it was merely a possibility, not an aim in itself. He was determined enough to make a decision that he was going to specialise in healing regardless of his future profession. He sensed that life was much more than its professional facet, and the things people do for their living constitute just a part of their whole story. Healing, on the other hand, was something superior, something purer, something befitted to saints. And like every boy nurtured with compassion, he secretly wished to make his life somewhat saint-like, if not angelic.

Ying grow up being isolated of everyone else. Thanks to her illness she had lived in China with her father and had homeschooling. The only times she got out of her house was to doctor's appointments and in unavoidable situations, her parents demanded her to be focused in her education and in her healing. For some, they could think she was being overprotected and they could be right...but that's how her life has been until now, until she got to Hogwarts.

And that's when everything changed! As soon as she arrived to the magical school, she started to feel better and her illness slowly but surely got healed thanks to healing magic. With this happening, and adding the fact she no longer had her father strongly controlling her every second, Ying felt finally free to explore new possibilities not being afraid of being too exposed to others and to environmental changes that could trigger one of her asthma episodes.

Soon, the young girl realized that people tended to stare at her or feel very shy and intimidated in her presence. She interpreted it as a consequence of being one of the Slytherin's prefects little sister, surely no one wanted to not show a good behavior in front of someone as close to a prefect as she was? People who stared maybe just felt curiosity about her? Although sometimes, the majority of times to be honest, those attitudes made her feel uncomfortable and unsure of what her reactions should be. She didn't liked to be stared at but even worse then that, was feeling that others felt somehow discouraged in having a conversation with her. Many times, their eyes just diverted from her and their words came as just a whisper...like during that time, when she went to watch her brother's duel and the boy with beautiful deep blue eyes, Ashley, now she knows his name, just seemed to want to disappear as soon as she arrived to their seats.

Many other awkward situations had happened to her, some without she even realize it was happening. Those eyes following her while she simply walked through the corridors, the whispers and people talking with each other in low voices. She knew they were talking about her, but often she did not understand what they wanted and meant. At the beginning this all felt very weird and strange to her, she was concerned that she had done something wrong or shameful without realizing it. That would be possible! She was not used to be around so many people, probably some social skills had been lacking in her closed upbringing, specially with people of her age.

Soon tho, Ying started to make friends and among her inner circle, no one seemed to have that kind of attitude around her and that made her feel comfortable and welcomed. Or at least...no one seemed to pay much attention to that weird effect she has on people. When she gets older, maybe she'll be able to understand this dazzling effect she seems to have on others is. Perhaps she will learn how to gain advantages with it? Only time will tell how the young and “doll-like” girl will deal, understand and use her beauty, to get what she wants or what always belong to her by right! Let's hope she will only distract and not be distracted from her right path.

A few things:
-What do you mean by the healing magic Hogwarts has? Hogwarts itself does not have any, although the nurse may offer some if Ying was unwell. Please clarify.
-You seem to be a bit confused on the ability. It is not a super power. It just means you are more beautiful than others seem to be, and this can distract others. Please amend.

One of the reasons Seven loved Hogwarts so much was because of the library. There were just so many wonderful books. However, people often took advantage of the cozy space and chatted with their friends, which made it very hard for Seven to concentrate on their book. So, they decided to find a better place to read. Maybe they were overreacting, but one day they grabbed their schoolbag, which held a few books, and set off in the direction of the Hogwarts grounds.

It took quite a while, but they reached a nice area with several oak trees. The ground was littered with pine needles, but, surprisingly, it was all soft rather than pokey.

Anyways, Seven loved the place and walked there every day. The only problem was that the patch of trees was a bit far from the Hogwarts castle. But it was perfect. After some debating, Seven chose to continue coming to the area.

They came all the time after their classes. Sometimes they would work on homework as well, though they mostly read. It was amazing and Seven loved it. Being alone with the nature. And the books, of course.

But the more they came, the faster they were able to walk. They were building up stamina. At some points, if the lessons hadn't been too boring, Seven even ran to the trees. It became easy for them to get to the place and they actually started to enjoy the walk there.

When they went, it became a big thing. Once, Seven even packed a picnic, though it wasn't much fun since the flies were annoying. But, they always brought a bottle of water to keep themself hydrated, which was important. They usually drank at least half of the bottle.

Plus, they began getting better sleep. Sure, it didn't exactly help that they weren't allowed to sleep in, but the could certainly go to sleep faster and they didn't wake up in the middle of the night at all.

Also, when their vocabulary increased quite a bit as they read for more and more time. They were able to read for longer because they had gotten to the area faster.

All in all, Seven's daily walks to the group of trees helped them to grow stronger in a way. They were able to increase their physical and mental ability. Slowly but surely, Seven grew to have more endurance.
