Emma had had such fun with her first errand that she had decided to come up with a reason to host another. Particularly one that would require creativity as it was quite interesting to see what everyone would come up with. She had asked her parents to look up the national days in different countries, and she just so happened to fall in love with the idea of National Invention Day (mostly because she knew magic solved a lot of muggle problems, but she had found that the wizarding world had their own problems that needed fixes). Or at least that was what she thought, honestly, it had just seemed like a really cool idea and something she could be proud of; inspiring someone to come up with a brand new invention or at least the idea for one.

Emma had once more pulled out all the stops in terms of items scattered around the various tables that were round and scattered about the Great Hall. There were at least 20 maybe more and each table was cluttered with various things. Parchment, quills and inks for those who wanted to come up with a drawing of their invention or write down any information about it. But she hadn’t stopped there, she had even provided various supplies like pipe cleaners, paper cups, string, and several other things she had thought might be handy when it came to building prototypes. Though she had kept herself to things that were easily manipulated without elaborate tools. That would maybe be too much and require more adult supervision than she could provide.

She had also provided a table with some finger food and drinks just in case anyone got peckish before supper. Emma was hopeful that people would be intrigued by the errand enough to come down on a Friday after class but it was too late to change things now, especially after all the effort she had taken to set things up. Pacing anxiously, she glanced at the doors every few moments, waiting for the first people to arrive. As soon as she saw people she hurried towards the door, and waved towards the table, her robes and prefect badge in slight disarray. “Welcome! I’ve got tables set up and you’re welcome to work together on something. Honestly you can do a prototype, write an essay, do a diagram whatever you wish, as long as it’s an invention to solve a problem in the wizarding world.”

Actually, Ed had intended to go into the library, like he did most days in the evening. There were just sooo many books to read and explore. However, after classes on this friday evening, his stomach growled. Frightend that someone had heard, Ed looked around, but it seemed that none of his classmates took further notice of him. He decided to go to the Great Hall, hoping to find something to eat, even though it was not yet time for supper.

As he approached the hall, he saw a girl waving at him. Ed had not met her before but he could see her prefect badge, so he got slightly intimidated. “Oh no. She caught me sneaking into the hall before supper started”, Ed thought and tried to casually turn into another direction. But before he could get away, he heard the girl say “Welcome! I’ve got tables set up and you’re welcome to work together on something. Honestly you can do a prototype, write an essay, do a diagram whatever you wish, as long as it’s an invention to solve a problem in the wizarding world.”

Ed was relieved. He had not done anything wrong but the girl just wanted to invite him to invent something to solve a problem. Ed got curious and approached the girl. Another opportunity to make friends at Hogwarts and the girl seemed really nice. He was already glad that he didn't go to the library.

“Hello, I am Edward but you can call me Ed. Nice to meet you”, Ed introduced himself. “I'd really like to join you.”
He looked around the hall and saw several tables full of material to work with. At one of the tables another girl was already busy preparing something that Ed could not identify. From where he was standing it looked.. interesting. As they also had not met yet, he didn't want to disturb her. He looked to the other tables and saw one filled with food. In that moment, his stomach growled again and he walked into the direction of a table next to the food, so that he could casually grab some small treats before settling at a table filled with quills and parchment and the like.

“Mhh. What could the wizarding world need?”, he thought. He was raised believing to be a muggle and had made contact to the wizarding world only about a year ago. How should he know what the wizarding world needs. Thinking about the challenge he was facing, he tried one of the pastries. Oh boy, they were good. Finally, he got something to eat.
“Yes, food. Wizards need food. But what problem could they be facing?”, he thought. Ed grabbed a quill and started doodling mindlessly on a piece of parchment. “How about quills and writing and books?” Those thoughts reminded him that he had to write back to his mom. She was still waiting for his reply and the owl would take a few days to reach home. “That's it!”, he exclaimed and started writing down his idea onto the parchment. He had not noticed that he just said that aloud and he was soon fully immersed in writing about his idea: “The fast-copy quill”.

Ed wondered why wizards, despite being so much more powerful than muggles, were still lagging behind when it came to technologies. They relied on slow owls that could be caught while carrying important mail. They also heavily relied on books and never heard of the muggle internet. Although Ed loved books and letters, he thought that exchange of information and looking for information could need a little speed boost. He didn't know if his invention solved a problem of the wizarding world but it would definitely solve his problem.

The fast-copy quill makes it possible to write letters to people instantly. Two equal quills are magically paired to form a twin. If you write with one quill, the other quill will write exactly the same letters in exactly the same speed. You just have to provide enough parchment around it and even if the letter is longer, the parchment will be exchanged automatically as well. But be careful! If there is no parchment left, the quill will write on whatever it finds suitable.
Accompanying that description, Ed sketched two identical quills and also made a sketch of him and his mother exchanging letters in an instant over a long distance. For that, he drew the UK and made a note in Scotland and London, where they would sit and write and read about each other.

He finished after only twenty minutes but upon reviewing, he wasn't so sure about his idea. “How could that be an invention? That's mundane. Just two quills. What if somebody already had that idea before me?” He pondered whether he should ask the prefect about it but also didn't want to make a fool out of himself. He had seen self-writing quills in Diagon Alley, so someone must have already come up with the idea of quill twins.

He decided to ask the prefect. Her reaction could not be worse than what the kids at his muggle school had done to him. And she had seemed so welcoming. She surely would understand that he had not so much contact to the wizarding world and didn't know about such an invention. At least that was what Ed hoped as he grabbed his sketch of “The fast-copy quill” and could not resist another pastry walking past the small buffet. They were just so delicious and he was still hungry and looking forward to dinner.

He approached the prefect who welcomed him to this task and hesistantly started talking: “Uhhm, I've got a question. I was thinking about how to write a letter my mo.. uhm to a friend but having it delivered much faster. So I came up with a quill that would replicate the exact words written to another quill.” He pointed at his sketch. “I wanted to ask whether that is original enough? Or whether it already exists in the wizarding world? So far I haven't read anything about it but I might have missed it.” He felt dumb while asking but now the words were already out and so he awaited her response.

That's the first rp post, where I am interacting with someone. I hope I did not make a mistake there. Is it okay to include the text of what you said, Emma? Or does that also count as godmodding?
Edit: added some more words because I wasn't sure I am allowed to count the sentence I quoted from you. Now it should be above 1000 even without those words.

I had decided to head to dinner early, because I wanted to eat and then take a walk in the cold. I hurried down from the Ravenclaw tower, wishing that it was way closer to the great hall. At least the owlery wasn’t far away.

I walked through the door expecting for it to be empty except for maybe one or two people who had the same idea as me. Instead, there was a group of a few students all sitting at one of the tables. I spotted a girl wearing a purple badge with the letter P on it, so she was a prefect. She welcomed me, and told me that a errand that was for designing a prototype of something that would fix a problem in the magical world.

I wish I had just waited until dinner to eat, but it was too late to turn and go back to the Ravenclaw tower. Plus I had already climbed down like seven sets of stairs to get food. There was a small section of the table that had snacks sitting on it, and a loud growl came from my stomach. These snacks are just calling my name. I thought as I walked over and picked up one of the small plates. I put a few different things and went back to a empty spot at the table. Ok. So. All I have to do is think of a problem. That’s in the wizarding world. I told my brain before it went to all of the human problems like slow transportation.

I pulled out a fresh piece of parchment and my quill. I didn’t know how long this invention was supposed to be, but I knew I had to find something. It would be weird at the end of the night if I didn’t have anything written. I shook the nightmare feeding throughs out of my head and turned back to my work. I had do find something. I stared at the parchment, and listened to the scratching of a quill coming from nearby. That person must have a really good idea. I thought as I stared more intensely at my paper. My mind was still blank.

I sat there just staring at the parchment, not allowing my thoughts to wander, even the slightest bit. I put my quill down, and took a deep breath. I went back to my staring and this time I barely allowed myself to blink or breathe. That was obviously not the solution, so I let my thoughts wander wherever they wanted to take me. As I was thinking about… random things, I doodled on a spare scrap of parchment I had found in my pocket.

The prefect had some crafty supplies laid out on the table, so I picked out three pipe cleaners, and a paper clip, and just fiddled around with them. They were obviously not the answer to my problem, but it helped my brain to have something in my hands, something that didn’t even have to be anything.

I put the tangled pipe cleaner mess down on the table and closed my eyes. Problems. They’re here, I just have to find them. Ok so… muggles. Getting in our way. Distracting us and messing us up. We could… get rid of muggles! My brain said. Wow. Really. the other part of my brain replied. Obviously I didn’t have any ideas.

The prefect had said we could work with others, but no more than four. I kept scanning the room, looking for anyone I knew, or who looked friendly enough to approach. I went back to thinking, but this time I guided my thoughts, to solving the problems. I doodled on the scrap of parchment, trying to find the answer.

Just then I remembered my plate of snacks. I began munching away, the food helping my mood. I thought and doodled some more, and waited for the perfect idea to hit me. I sighed and got up, refilling my plate. I had gotten less snacks but I was still hungry. That is when it hit me. Right in the face.

Not literally, but the idea was the best. I pretty much ran back to my seat, knowing I had wasted a ton of time just sitting and trying to get the ideas to flow. I dipped my quill in the ink and began to write.
Wiz-Saver
This invention helps all wizards and witches keep their magical identities a secret. Prevents muggles from getting suspicious, and even helps them blend in. Has charms on it so all muggles see is a plain box of mints. Hidden inside what looks like a muggle tin mint container, is their whole cover story. Muggle money, ID, emergency tracker that can also notify the ministry when something has happened that might need to be looked in to.
I stopped writing, now that I had jotted the idea down. I felt so good. I had my idea. I had no idea how the heck I was going to prototype it. I wandered back over to the part of the table that was covered in the supplies for creating the invention. I needed a small box, so for prototyping I made a small box out of cardboard, and took a few scraps of paper that acted like what I would fill the box with. I had no idea how the ministry would ever create something that all wizards can keep on them, that calls them pretty much. Basically the muggles already have a solution for this, their cell phone devices.

I ignored that last part, but I was really happy with how that had turned out. It could really help a wizard who is surrounded by muggles blend and fit it.

I had actually thought of something decent. The prefect, Emma Wynn never said that we were going to be telling the whole world and actually making our inventions, so I just did the best I could, and I actually liked the result.

For Ava, any chance to earn house points was a win for her. She had remembered the attention the top earning slytherins (@Colin McCoire, @Lily Blaze, @Rebecca Loops) had gotten for all of their hard earned house-points. Ava should’ve been helping but she was to busy causing trouble to excel in the classes. Well, best to get on the good side of at least one prefect, right? She wasn’t early nor late, she seemed to be right on time, for once. The room seemed to be filled with an array of things, from quills to food. Ava didn’t want to get distracted by the food, so she sat as far away as possible. She had a blank paper to fill with great ideas but when she put quill to page all she came out with was a rectangle. She found she worked best when her mind was wandering, so she got up to pace around the room. She drifted from table to table, saying things like “good idea!” or “Cool diagram,” and stuff like that. When she finally returned to her table her eyes seemed to be alit. Although it wasn’t exactly a magical dilema, it was an all people dilema. Or an all readers dilema. Surely she wasn’t the only one who was always loosing her bookmark, or what page she had stopped at. Imagine there was a way to mark the inside cover, but it could erase after use! Considering the many ways she could do this, she sketched a book jacket. Thinking back to her muggle school-girl days with dry erase markers and whiteboards gave her a possible idea, but it seemed to…easy. Plus, if the books jacket were to slide off, it would probably get erased by the other things in the bag. She needed a magical solution. If she could write on the front flap, she would need something that could make the writing invisible, or disappear. Ava wondered whether there was some magical substance that, when combined with another ingredient, turned invisible. Kind of like the invisible pens whom’s writing you could only see if blue light was shown on it. She couldn’t help fidgeting as she thought, changing strands of her hair to different colors. That probably wasn’t the smartest choice though, because all of her mental energy was gone. Ava growled, ripping the parchment in half. Her stomach growled and she marched over to the snack table, heaping a plate with an unnecessary amount of food. Tromping back to her table she practically spilled all of the food when she dropped the plate on the table. A few heads swiveled in her direction but no one shushed her or scolded her. Grabbing a fresh sheet of parchment and a quill, she began drawing a book on the bottom left corner. She quickly labeled it ‘Alice and Wonderland’ because every good book drawing has a title in it. A title…she considered what to call her invention. A chapter keeper! She neatly printed it in cursive on the top of the page. She added an illustration of an open book flipped to the very first page, the before page if you may. It had numbers lined up in neat rows on the front flap, and Ava added an arrow to the same book, without the numbers on the flap. She added one last illustration to highlight that the cover was being written on, not the book. Easy solution, if you don’t have your book then you cant read anyway but if you have your book then you have your page! She got up to stretch and looked at other people’s ideas. Grabbing a new plate of snacks (because she had already finished her last overfilled plate), she headed to grab her design and show it to the prefect, but it was no where to be found! Her face crumbled and she looked to be on the brink of tears. She had worked so hard on her drawings. She had to stay calm. She gathered herself and frowned at the fiery red streaks that had formed in her hair during her near meltdown. Not much she could do about that, she didn’t have much control over her powers. She moved her stuff so she could sit at another table with other people, because she needed to find out who might have stolen her paper. Her eyes furtively scanned the other peoples papers, but none of them were hers. She wrote a title on the page so as to not be caught. Moving to another table, she again scanned their papers and again, no luck. She added a picture of a book to her page. There were only a couple tables where it could be. She moved yet again and didn’t even bother to hide her searching glance. She added a book flap with page numbers and no page numbers on it. With only a limited number of tables left she moved again, and walked around the table, towering over students, to look at their papers. Ava was near the end of her patience. She quickly scribbled on a few words. ‘No bookmark?’. She moved on to the last table.

“Has anyone seen my page?”

She growled in a not so polite way. The people shook their heads. Ava was devastated, by the point her hair seemed to be on fire with how fire-y it looked. Ava stormed to the snack table to grab some snacks to throw, but there it was, her page completely unharmed. Ava mentally smacked her forehead. All that trouble could’ve been saved if she had just checked the snack table. She walked up to the prefect to show her her idea. Ava was sure that Emma had probably seen cooler idea’s before hers though. Ava had barely even done what was asked, because it wasn’t even a magic problem at all! It was just a general problem, solved by magic. She hoped the prefect would accept her work. It had taken her awhile, and if she had wasted her time all for nothing…well, she wouldn’t be very happy. Fingers crossed, she came to the prefect.

Cynthia was free today. She wandered right into Emma Wynn, the Hufflepuff prefect’s, trap. Well, she couldn’t exactly call it that. But still, inventing something? That seemed, more or less, somewhat well, fun. Plus, she’d get herself house points. She still remembered the attention Pericles received. A few extra points could do no harm, now could it?
Cynthia surveyed the room. ‘Hmm… what have we got here? Pipe cleaners, paper cups, string, all sorts of stuff. I think I’ll draw my invention first. Yes, that’s a nice idea.’ Cynthia walked over and grabbed a quill and some parchment. Think now, what’s a problem in the world that you’d like to solve? What about something for the muggles? Yes, they seem to encounter all sorts of problems without magic. Hmmm…. Christmas? Yeah, since Christmas is almost here. Well, what are some problems one might encounter with Christmas? She divided her mind in categories. Well, firstly, Christmas Eve. Ooh! Cynthia thought no more, for she had an idea. Santa Claus! Yes, right, of course. Now the only thing is, something for Santa or something to help the kids spy on him. Cynthia sat on the chair, staring at the parchment blankly. Come on, think. If I was to creat something for Santa, then it must be something related to gifts. Or children, like how nice or how naughty they are. Hmm. If its to spy Santa, than a chain reaction seemed nice. The nice and naughty children part, well with some decent elves that could be accomplished easily. Cynthia crossed that off her mental list. Now what? Something related to gifts or for children to spy the jolly old man? Cynthia looked around her. Well, I don’t think he needs help with giving gifts, with that big slay and all. Yes, I must make something to help the children spy Santa.
Cynthia dipped the tip of her quill in ink. So, firstly there must be something to trigger the chain reaction. Right, Santa must do something. Yes! Santa will come down from the chimney, which means ash. Ash is a bit hot, so simply put a heat reactor under the place the ash might land. When the ash lands there, it will trigger something else. But what? Never mind that now, sketch the first bit. Cynthia started to put her idea onto paper. Okay, that’s all good. Now what does it trigger, hm? How about a camera? No, that’s too soon. We need to stall Santa. Okay, so now he’s going to eat the biscuits and drink the milk, right? Great distraction! At this moment, Santa will crunch the crispy cookies, waking the dog (say its sleeping under the tree), who will bark loudly. He will be afraid and will drop the cookies and milk. The milk will then land on a water detector. Bravo bravo bravo! Cynthia drew this all out. Okay, she had a good lead. So then the dog would jump around in a frenzy. Eventually, it would hit the button to take a picture, in case the kid missed it. Seems good. So when the camera flashes, it will get the attention of a light detector on the other side of the room. The light detector will start a siren in the child’s room, waking him/her. Cynthia sighed contently. Everything was turning out good, better than she had though. She dipped her quill in ink once again and drew this out. Then it was simpler. When the child rolls out of bed, (s)he would land on a button, drawing the door open for him/her. Bravo! Ingenious. Santa would run away though. Cynthia furrowed her brow. This was not good. There must be something to stop him. Ooh! Right, simply place a hidden button before Santa. When he steps on it, it would trigger a hidden block on the roof and drag it down into the chimney. Cynthia jotted this down and reapplied some ink. Fabulous! Now the kid saw Santa and could demand his/her presents. Very cunning! Cynthia would make a good Slytherin if she wasn’t in good old Ravenclaw.
Okay, now the only thing she needed to do is tinker with the supplies she had. Wait a moment, though! Wouldn’t it be cool to trap Santa? Okay, so say there is a button on the bottom of the block. When the block collides with the bottom of the fireplace, it would be pushed, sending out a net and capturing Santa! Cynthia quickly jogged over to the quills table and drew that on.
Okay! Now let’s start for real! Well, first off, she needed the heat detector. It would be easy to buy in a mortal craft shop, so she just saved a spot for it. Just like this, Cynthia put together her amazing chain reaction invention, only leaving out the spots for some muggle technology. She had a feeling it was going to be magnificent!

It was December second - and there way yet another errand. Around the holidays Bailey had noticed that they happened more and more frequently Is there a reason for that? Bailey wondered as she pulled on her sweater. She was wearing a skirt, first time in forever.
Why was she wearing a skirt? Good question. Not to impress anyone, especially a boy. Just to switch it up Bailey thought, half trying to convince herself. I wonder if Kim will notice.. no that's not what is important Bailey mentaly shook herself - Kim's been in a funk, he needs to get out. he is not going to notice, that is NOT why we are wearing a skirt
Leaving the dorm, and the the common room and Ravenclaw tower, Bailey slung her bag over her sholder. She had packed her bag carefully, as always. She had her wand, her water bottle, her journal, two notebooks- one for the errand, and one for cake and pastry designs.
Smiling at her friends, and at everyone else she passed in the corridor, Bailey walked to the entrance to the Griffindor common room. Knocking, Bailey would ask the first person that opened the door if Kim Aoki was in there.
Once Kim finally emerged, Bailey would grab his hand, and pull him to the errand. This was a tradition almost, Bailey dragging her slightly less social but equally as popular friend to events to get him out of his dorm.
He does go to a fair amount of clubs, and to all of his classes, and he does duel… but he has to get out and hang out with me!!
Entering the Great Hall Bailey saw her friend Emma, a hufflepuf prefect and an amazing person. Bailey smiled at Emma, and grinned as she waived and called over to the younger girl - Bailey said “Hey Emma! This looks amazing!!! I’m so excited!!”
Bailey thought wistfully of the cosy and nice afternoon Bailey had spend in the library, before she met Emma, and then her conversation with Emma.
Sitting down at the table that Lily blaze was sitting at, Bailey pulled out her notebook.
“ok- what should we design? I was thinking something involving food - if it turns out well, Kim we can use it, if we make it a real thing. Do you guys have any ideas?”
Bailey started doodling. Something involving food… a cake design printer? Like a 3d printer but for icing on a cake?
An idea struck bailey. What if they made a self defense something?
She offered this idea to Kim and whom ever else was at their table- presently just Lily.
“Or- or we could make something self defense oriented. I mean, I love my extendable bostaff- what if we combined that and a few other muggle weapons, karate ones, into something like a Swiss Army knife? That’s not a real knife, it’s just a tool that folds up real small and includes little scissors, tweezers, and other little things, well tools, like that!”

we are all born beautiful. it is a tragedy we are convinced that we are not”

It was December.

Time for a few months of snowfall from now until at least the end of February. That was what people expected.

The first snow of the season hadn't started to fall as of yet but it was only a matter of time before it happened. A sigh escaped his lips as his thoughts turned towards the girl he hadn't been able to get out of his mind for over two months now. She would have loved the snow and the activities. Despite everything he'd done, Kim still couldn't get her out of his mind and had dreams about her every night. It was obvious that it bothered him but he didn't know how to handle it. The green haired boy's heart felt heavy as he made his way back to the dorms after all of his classes.

Kim changed out of his Gryffindor robes and into more comfortable clothes. Choosing a black turtleneck with jeans and shoes to match and a long, dark brown jacket, the boy decided to go for a walk. Outside. But that was when another Gryffindor told him someone was at the entrance for him. Puffie hopped onto his shoulder as Kim went to see who it was and squeaked out a happy greeting to Bailey. An audible sigh escaped his lips as the girl reached out to grab his hand and pulled him out of the room. Where were they going now? This had seemed to become a habit.

But it was a nice distraction.

From his dark and brooding thoughts about the other girl, living in his mind. For that, Kim was grateful to Bailey.

When they reached their destination, Kim glanced around the area. It was filled with people, exactly not the sort of place he'd want to go on his own. That was probably why Bailey had decided to drag him to it, he thought with a shake of his head. Yet another sigh escaped his lips and he reached up to scratch his eyebrow. As Bailey waved to Emma, Kim regarded the young Hufflepuff prefect. Ah, so it was her event? He wasn't entirely sure what it was but it seemed decent at first glance. Kim inclined his head towards Emma, greeting her in such a way, instead of vocally.

He didn't really feel like talking right now. Not to mention the amount of people there was making him wonder how long he'd last before the nerves started to kick in. Kim was fine for now, but he didn't know how long that would last for. That was the thing with anxiety, it could suddenly spring up out of nowhere, or never show its face. It was a random thing for him and he never knew when it would affect him. Bailey steered them towards a certain table soon after greeting Emma and Kim recognized Lily Blaze. Thankfully, that was the only person at the table. Okay, not bad.

Three total people at the table.

Including him. As long as they were able to keep some distance between them and the others there, it was fine.

Three was a perfect number. Not too little and not too much. Also, three worked together way better than four or more. Everyone's voice could be heard and it wouldn't take much time to hear opinions from everyone. Kim could be a part of a group of three with no issues. Puffie looked all over the place, his beady eyes flickering from one person to the next and then around the room too. It was obvious he was very interested in everything inside the room! "We could combine the two into one? Like make a food-related item but also have it have multiple purposes like a self-defense item too." Kim said, agreeing with Bailey but also trying to combine the two too.

"Why is it called a Swiss Army Knife if it isn't a knife?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. This kind of muggle device didn't make sense to him. Why call it a knife if it wasn't a knife? Why not call it a Multi-Purpose Tool instead? For the first time, Kim's blue eyes swept over the girl by his side. "You're wearing a skirt today. It looks nice! Your whole outfit looks well put together and fashionable. I didn't know you wore skirts too." He remarked and Puffie suddenly hopped off his shoulder to roll himself over to Bailey to squeak at the girl.

Puffie had always liked Bailey.

Whenever Kim took him places where there were other people and Bailey was there, Puffie would hop onto her.

Almost as if he supported BaiKim, even though he probably didn't even know what that was. After all, he was a pet and no one knew if pets could understand the ships of humans. Yes, there was a chance pets could have enough intelligence to figure things like this out, but no one knew for sure. At any rate, this invention that they needed to make, what could they do together? Something that related to food and self-defense. Could they come up with something like this muggle creation Bailey had spoken of before? How could they include food and tools together?

That is, into the same invention? Kim thought about it for a few seconds and then glanced over at the girls.

Kim had been headed somewhere - clearly, he was dressed in a black turtleneck and a brown trench coat - so maybe going outside? That would explain the coat.
We can go on a walk after the errand Bailey mentally justified.
puffe sqeeked happily when he saw bailey, which in turn made Bailey grin. Kim on the other hand, seemed reluctant, even emitting an audible sigh.
"Oh come on-" Bailey said, grinning at Kim, despite his slight grumpiness. "You know you'll enjoy yourself - or at least, enjoy spending time with me!"
Bailey's smile became a little more cheekier at that, because she knew it was true.
Bailey dragged Kim into the Great Hall, and grinned when she saw @Emma Wynn, the Hufflepuff prefect who was putting on this errand.
Kim was clearly warming, as when they sit down he quit giving her the silent treatment.
"I like that idea!" Bailey said, in response to Kim's reply to her. It was smart to combine the two, and she would have not thought to do that.
she started writing/drawing a design, combining the two.
"So maybe something like a swiss army knife with spoons, spatulas, etc, maybe? What else could we add?" Bailey said.
bailey smiled at Kim's question about swiss army knives.
"well, maybe some do have knives? The ones I have had don't, but maybe my father removed them so i don't hurt myself? I'm sure they do sell them with knives included."
Bailey blushed when Kim realized she was wearing a skirt. And he commented on it!!! she eternally screamed. Why this was important in her adolescent mind, she did not know and could not figure out.
Realizing Kim was probably waiting for her to reply, she said "Oh thanks- i do own a few but they're really not super practical, so my mum made me a few with shorts sewn into the inside, so i feel more comfortable wearing them. And thanks - you look really good too! Where were you headed? it seemed like you were about to leave, when i Kidnapped you." Bailey glanced at Lily, and realized she should clarify. "Not actually kidnapped him, i just mean bringing him here, because I didn't want to go alone and I knew Kito wouldn't come if i didn't bring him."
Shaking herself mentality, bailey returned to her notepad.
Bailey returned to her drawing, and after a few minutes passed a rough sketch to Kim. "Something like this, maybe?"
She then had a random and probably utterly useless idea. Still, she said something because maybe Kim and Lily would like it.
"What if we put something like a stick of butter in it, like a tube of Chapstick, so someone could spread it on toast. We'd have to spell it so it doesn't melt, but I'm sure we can figure something out. Thoughts?"
Bailey fidgeted with her pencil, and smiled when puffe nuzzled her. He had hopped over to her shoulder earlier, something that she was accustom to, and something she enjoyed. "What do you think Puffie?" she asked the puffball, scratching its head softly.

Her hair is ginger
Mentioning
None
Interacting with
@Emma Wynn
December flush and her ginger era. Classes just ended, Aurora can finally feel the breeze on her hair and brain. The last couple of hours, the time was dragging so slow. Even a slug could move faster and that said something. Now that she was free from the family friendly version of azkaban, both of her feet led her to the great hall as her stomach screamed like a maniac. To her surprise, there was an event in the great hall, more like an errand actually, held by her fellow prefect mate from the badger house. Of course she knew who Emma was, but they barely exchanged words with each other. National invention day. Sounded cool, pretty self explanatory. Aurora grabbed a piece of parchment, as much as finger food as she could, and three drinks in one go. Why three drinks? One for in case she was thirsty, one for if there would be icky little firsties who tried to fight with each other she would be prepared to drench them, one for if the icky little firsties isn’t drenched enough. It was a real struggle to hold everything at once, but slowly but surely she walked to the emptiest table. An inventor needs the whole table all to themself.

It was a public secret that Hogwarts isn’t the safest place on earth. Quite the opposite, actually. She kept anticipating for a bloodbath to come on a day to day basis. It was like an elephant in the room. Enormous and obvious, yet for some reason people kept on ignoring it. If only a safety audit was conducted in the magical world, then the school would be no more. There must be more people who are just like Aurora, forgetful, mostly at bad times. She once forgot to bring her wand to the most notorious disastrous bloodshed crimson clover event, the Hogwarts ball. But she might be prone to remember to bring other things, like a pocket knife. A pocket knife was something muggles, and perhaps wizards, would know about. Sharp and handy, but would only be functional for close range attack. One could throw it, of course, but then they would lose the weapon. What if the knife is retractable? Think of it like a rapier but compact. Perfect for a normal range attack. But one wouldn’t win if they were to bring a knife to a gunfight. What would be good for a long range attack that caused minimal harm but enough to buy some time? Pepper spray, as approved by the pepper spray resident herself, Aurora Ranvier, and her victims. So, on that beautiful day, she will invent a creation no one had thought of before, or maybe someone did but let’s pretend it didn’t happen, a pocket retractable knife sword pepper spray.

The sound of her muggle pen against the parchment was blocking the chatters in the great hall. Luckily she came prepared. Her enchanted satchel was filled with stuff she might or not need, including her 150 prismacolor she got for her birthday from her dear parents. It was heavy and expensive, but worth it for a little artist like her. Honestly she still couldn’t figure out why was it so expensive. Yes, the texture was a lot smoother and the colour was way more vibrant and opaque than an ordinary coloured pencils, but it didn’t have any business to cost more than a hundred pounds. She was so happy when she received the package, but think about how many korean bbq she could do, it made her mouth water. The finger food didn’t do the justice to her sad crying stomach.

Back to her soon to be a revolutionary invention, she was ecstatic to see the final result. Three drawings of the process to put the knife out, one front view, another side view, and the fully retracted knife sword thing. She had the idea to make it pink but it would be hers only and not anyone else’s. So for now, the pocket knife sword spray was in all black colour. Now the hardest part. The name. Originally, she wanted to do a more creative approach to it but also memorable to the others. “It’s a knife, but also a sword, but also a pepper spray” Aurora mumbled to herself on her table,

“Swofeper” hard to pronounce, weird overall, zero out of ten. “knordper” Sounded like something straight from a fantasy alien movie, perhaps the alien species’ name or the planet they came from, one out of ten. “KSP?” It has a nice ring to it, not too creative but surely easy to remember. And she got the name, “KSP!” Perhaps the whole great hall could hear her spit out that word a little too loud, though she didn’t care and continued to finish off her piece. Once done, she drank all the three drinks she brought and gave Emma her KSP drawing prototype, “Hi, it’s KSP, bye”, then ran towards her dorm room to cook an instant noodle using her absolutely clean cauldron.

House Colours: Hufflepuff
After sending out his little owl to his twin in a feeble request that he return to London for Christmas, Piérre resolved to try and not worry himself over the potential rejection or dismissal he may get from his brother and instead beelined for the errand event that was set up for the night. He may not have arrived right at the time in which the errand was set up to start, but he was going to most certainly make the time before the errand was going to end. Notoriously he had quite a hyperactive tendency to hyperfixate on tasks for extended periods of times, and this often applied to things that had sparked his interests hardly hours or minutes prior to the moment he decided that it was going to be the thing that he chose to focus the bult of his attentions on.

With his constant companion Figaro around his shoulders, Piérre entered the Great Hall with wide eyes and nervously wringing hands twisting the black and gold scarf that would usually be about his neck. It was currently being twisted between his hands and fingers like some sort of single-pieced cat's cradle, and with a small sniff and subsequent wiping of his nose, Piérre sat down at a table with ink and parchment. He let his cat off of his shoulders and let his silver bengal run about like a beautiful silver cat that he was (feel free to interact with him if you want, he's highly friendly and will try to sniff you out before he lets you touch him), before the Britalian tapped his cheek with his favorite ink quill and tried to brainstorm problems and ideas that would flitter in and out of his mind at random.

After a while of coming up blank, the boy decided that he would simply put pen to paper and just draw whatever came to his mind. Closing his eyes to block out as much outside noise as he could, he felt his hand wandering the page and leaving ink as it went. After about a minute or so, the boy finally stopped tracing and opened his eyes at the inky mess that he had created on the parchment.

Squinting at it intently, Piérre tried to make sense of the seemingly patternless chaos that he had caused to live upon this highly unfortunate piece of parchment for all eternity, willing his brain and his eyes to work together as opposed to double dissociate and cause him to come up with basically nothing to boot. Searching the seemingly nothing, the boy's eye finally aligned on a certain line that seemed to work just right for his purposes. There! That was it!

Inspired by the line, the boy placed another piece of parchment over the first and started to trace over the top of the first, taking that single line that he had found and expanding upon it; a line here, a tracing there... Piérre was far from an artist; he had not drawn for a while and even when he did draw he wasn't even cohesively comparable to a Picasso. What he ended up with was a sort of cloak-like object which depicted a green, hilly scene. Four animals; a natural-looking badger near a little hole, a golden lion curled up on the grass like a little cat, a silvery snake that was sunning itself on the rocks near a small stream, and a bronzy eagle which perched in a bush in full springtime bloom. Blue skies were overhead, and there was a small sun that was setting over the hills, which Piérre envisioned to cause the skies to turn delightful shades of pinks and purples.

Despite himself, the boy smiled as he waved the parchment about to dry the final product and then taking a look at it again. Ah yes. This was certainly an object that he would have to try to make for himself someday. Today, however, he christened this beta sketch as "The Cloak of the Four Animals".

Perfect. Perfect.

What was he supposed to be doing again?

Oh! RIGHT! Nonono, he was supposed to be solving a problem that NORMAL people had. Right, right. Oops.

With a sharp inhale, he tucked the picture into his satchel for a later reference and instead focused on the actual task of the errand; to create something that normal people had normal problems with. So, back to tapping on his cheek with his quill he went, trying to brainstorm with the best of his ability until... a sudden flash of inspiration brought on by this very event; the fact that Piérre knew that his ability to remember certain things as he was about to head out to class or out and about was quite poor due to his very distractable attention span.

Quickly, he sketched out a rough draft of a satchel, basing it off of the one that he carried about with him on a daily basis. Having done so, he edited the "mouth" of the satchel so that it looked like it was "talking". Having tried his best to make it look halfway presentable, the boy harumphed at his poor artistic skills and instead focused on writing down the notes of the project. That was the more important thing about the invention after all, not just the picture that he had rather shabbily sketched out.

He called it; Annotating Attaché
Enchanted similarly to a Talking Mirror so that it can talk, the Annotating Attaché always reminds you if you have forgotten to put something in it that you have previously annotated to it the previous night. Until you annotate another list to it, it will remember the previous list and try to recall where you (or it) remembered seeing the said item last/when you had taken it out of the Attaché. The type of voice may vary based on what kind of voice you are most apt to listen to if it casually spoke to you.
So writing it down along with several other notations, Piérre finally turned it in with tired eyes, tired out from having to focus for too long on one boring errand for so long. It wasn't always his fault; his hyperactivity just... refused to let him sit still.

After turning it in and making sure that nobody immediately displaced it, the boy left with his cat for the Niffler Nook and a good night's sleep.
