Day 2
Sunday 28th of January, 2024
It was still the middle of winter by the time the second stage of the duelling tournament rolled around, and with a steady snowfall blanketing the grounds, the duelling club was even more packed than usual, with those who might have otherwise spent the day on the grounds lured inside by the prospect of warmth and the boisterousness of the crowd. And the crowd was something to behold as they filed in to cheer on their friends and housemates, with laughter and chatter filling the moments before the first showing of the day, loud enough to overwhelm the senses in the packed room, and with brightly coloured scarves and hats everywhere, wordlessly proclaiming each student's allegiance to a particular house. There was a sense of excitement and anticipation. The sort that might fray the nerves of any competitor, even if they weren't prone to pre-match jitters.
A large board bore the schedule for both days, ensuring both spectators and duellists would know when each match was taking place, as well as who was expected to officiate. Everything to ensure the event would run smoothly as duellists clambered on to the piste to test their mettle against other teams. After weeks of practice, it was time to see where everyone stood in terms of skills and nerve.

Day 2
Afternoon Slot
Last time has been all about the rushing around the duelling piste as she moved from co-captain to duellist and worked to keep everything running smoothly alongside the rest of the captains. And it had worked, thank goodness, Lea successfully overlooking and competing in a duel with both going rather well. Now she had her break, moderation duty given back to Jake instead, letting Lea focus on just her duel against the Slytherins- mainly.
Not one to easily relinquish control or authority, Lea would actually spend more time watching over the other duels. It wasn't as though she hadn't watched before, but now her head was more open to take in the experience rather than anxiously finding each possibility of something going wrong and both looking to step in while keeping out of the team's way. No, her duel was done and the hospital visit had gone as well as it could considering the circumstances. The hour break was long enough to get healed up, make sure her teammates were okay, grab a sandwich from the great hall, and bring it with her as she returned in time to see the final two bouts of the stage. Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw and Slytherin vs Gryffindor. While typically the Hufflepuff would have focused solely on her house- perhaps opponents near her year- on the Gryffindor team was Raizel, a duellist Lea had unofficially moderated for plenty of times now and rather open to being target practice. Luck hardly sided with the second year, but perhaps it would this time with what looked to be a rather even match from the quick glance alone. She would have to keep an eye on it even as her focus returned back to the Hufflepuff team.
Alyssea & Axyen- both seemed like studious second years and had done well in winning their previous match. Alyssea too had taken on the co-captain role for another sport, seeming to balance the responsibilities rather well so far. Clark- well, this would be a better place to channel his chaos and impulsivity than the other times Lea had found him messing around. As for the opponents- Beatrice and Zach had done well in their past duels with Lea receiving front row tickets as their moderator. Cassian she knew little about asides from the name, but from the two she knew alone the fourth year suspected this would end up a good challenge for Hufflepuff. Crossing her arms with a small nod, Lea watched to see how these two duels would turn out.

@Lea Hirsch @Lucian Mornstern @Raizel Voltrouz @Sere Nade @Aries Scythe @Colin McCoireYing just had finished her transfiguration assignment and headed quickly to the Great hall to pick up some food before walking to the Duelling Club. Last time she couldn't watch her best friend's duel, but this season things would be different, Raizel was always there to cheer her on and now it was her time to show some encouragement to her friend.
There was already several people gathering at the bench to watch the match happening, Ying looked around, sweeping the room with her dark brown eyes, searching for familiar faces. She spotted Raizel almost immediately. The Gryffindor duelist seemed to have a determined expression and Ying felt pride fill her chest, which always happens when she gets to witness her friend putting her talent and dueling skills to good use. Raizel was always able to transfigure her gaze in this way, it seemed like the light in her eyes could turn anyone to ash just by sheer will.
With a bright smile and wearing an outfit that was screaming "Gryffindor pride" to the room, Ying walked enthusiastically to the front bench, no way she was going to miss a single spell during that duel! Arriving there, she was finally able to recognize one of Gryffindor's opponents for that match, Lucian Michael Bauer Mornstern, the name was engraved in her memory when she heard Ciarán pronounce it that way, too sticky on the train. Like a candy too sweet for her own taste that got glued to her mouth. Ying sent him a polite wave and a smile, they had met on several occasions so at least that was expected of her. But she didn't took much of her time given all the attention to him, she was there for Raizel and for her team. "Let's go Gryffindor!" She said to her teammates, "Make them burn Rai!" She finished enthusiastically giving her friend her words and a smile of encouragement.
"I'm sorry," Ying then apologize noticing the girl sitting at the spectator bench, she only had noticed her now that she was about to pick a seat. She didn't look familiar to her, they may have never crossed paths before, but Ying realized that she was older than her. "You mind if I sit here?" the young Gryffindor asked, before sitting and waiting for the duel to finally start.

Day 2
Afternoon Slot
Ravenclaw vs Hufflepuff
@Alyssea Brown ∆ @Axyen Dragonclaw ∆ @Clark Baird
Astra had a full afternoon ahead of her. Both cousins, both duellists, would be competing in their duelling matches back-to-back. It was sure to be an exciting event.
Astra rushed into the duelling hall with a large piece of posterboard tucked under one arm. It seemed things were already underway, with bright lights and big winds and a familiar voice booming over it all. Well, at least she wasn't too late.
Astra quickly set herself up in the stands and held up the yellow sign. It read, in bold black letters outlined in Hufflepuff yellow, GO ALYSSEA AND AXYEN and Clark I guess. It was very akin to the sign her buddy Elsian had made for that broom race back in November, that Raizel had raced, and Alyssea had hosted.
Remembering this sign, she had almost added a little "incentive" to take out Clark, but she didn't want to pay the Ravenclaws to win. Maybe once the Badgers got things turned around in their favor, because it obviously wasn't at this moment, she'd add a five galleon reward to whoever took out Clark.
But, for now, she was going to cheer on every Hufflepuff, and hope that Zach Zaphiere of Ravenclaw didn't get hurt too badly because he was a nice guy. But Hufflepuff should definitely win.
She wiggled the sign in the air, just to make sure people saw her undying support for this specific team Puff.
Clark's griddy was hilarious to the young snake, but she was less than enthused about everything else happening to her cousin's team. "C'mon, Alyssea," she whispered. "You've got it."

Afternoon Slot
It was just the start of the Hufflepuff's duel, but it seemed she had accurately guessed the new challenge posed before the group of second years. None of the badgers' spells had hit unless you counted Clark hitting himself, a slight wince escaping the fourth year as he hit the griddy, Lea momentarily pulled from reality as the wizarding world and muggle world crashed together in the most unexpected way. She blinked, shaking her head at the display and heavily regretted that she actually knew what he was doing. Oh to be a pureblood or halfblood just standing in confusion instead of mortification.
Ravenclaw would get some victories of their own too, their spells splitting on themselves both as gusts of wind blew back Alyssea and Axyen and the crackers exploded around them all with only Clark seeming phased by it. Cassian seemed to be elsewhere for a moment, returning only after the festivities were done and a new round had begun. She was curious to see how he would fare as well, a silent inspection before her gaze turned towards the other duel.
The Gryffindors and Slytherins hadn't started up quite yet, but the supporters had arrived for Gryffindor with the abundantly red outfit of a younger girl approaching Lea. It made her own pride modest in comparison, in part because Lea was still in her dueling robes, a lot of black amidst the additional black and yellow accents of her house. She would offer a small nod and smile to the other, glancing at the free seat that the other wanted to take. "Oh, no worries- go ahead, it's free." There would be a pause as Lea let the girl get herself situated in her seat before she asked, "Friend of Raizel?" She had heard the shouts before and was fairly sure it was from her but wanted to be certain. If confirmed, the fourth year would nod and continue on a bit. "She's quite dedicated, spends a lot of time duelling upper years- I'm sure she'll do well against others her age with all of that practice."

Day 2
Morning Slot - 10:30 - 11:30 Match 4
Blue in English, Red in KoreanEun-ji pondered for a long time whether to go and spectate this particular duel. She knew she would probably have quite a lot of mixed feelings as she watched those two teams battle it out. One team had her dear friend Lucia while the other side housed…well… Hana. She still wasn’t quite sure how to label that one. The young rogue had somehow wormed his way into her life and, though their relationship was a bit hard to define, she no longer minded him pestering her. Perhaps she even enjoyed it. Something she would never admit aloud of course. So yeah, it was going to be hard to watch. She didn’t want either one to lose or get hurt. Still, she was finally able to come and support Lucia openly after so many months of not talking to each other. Eun-ji really didn’t want to miss this opportunity.
When she walked in, the teams were already preparing to start. The Ravenclaw paused in her step and tilted her head upon hearing Hana’s flirty words fired at Lucia. It took a lot of effort not to cringe. It was common for him to do this. In fact, that was precisely how the two of them first interacted. They met during a match and the Slytherin immediately flirted with her as well. Still, it felt strange to see him do the same to her friend. Or perhaps not just strange…perhaps she genuinely didn’t like it. Why though? Eun-ji knew what he was like. He always did this so why did it make her so uncomfortable now? Nah…it was probably nothing. Perhaps it was really just the fact that it was Lucia on the receiving end. Yes. That must have been it!
The witch quickly dismissed the thought as she finally started walking again to find a place to sit down. Preferably far away from any other students that came to support their friends. She didn’t want to talk to anyone. She was just here to watch.Mentioning: @Lucia Fox and @Hanako Tone

Date: 28th January 2024
Match 4: Slytherin Vs Hufflepuff (Morning Slot - 10:30 - 11:30)
Slytherin: Ruby Cazares, Opeila Winters, Hanako Tone
vs.
Hufflepuff: Lucia Fox, Lea Hirsch, Hades Schweighöfer
Moderator: Galton Landsdale (Round 1 & 2)
Damion as usual was there supporting his boyfriend. Not unless he had a duel in the same slot as his boyfriend, Damion was not going to miss out on supporting his boyfriend. He glanced the duelling stage and smiled as his eyes caught the Hufflepuff boy he called his boyfriend. Damion couldn't deny that he loved seeing his boyfriend in the Hufflepuff colors. He was cheering him on. He was hoping that Hades would win the duel. He knew wishing for it was not the only thing that would help him win the duel.
"Babycakes you can do it." Damion said cheering Hades. He knew the last time he had called Hades Babycakes and Ava had made fun of it making Damion get really angry about it. But right now she didn't seem to be around anywhere here. Well not that he could see her to be honest. In the first round of the match, Damion was happy that Hades' Nebulus spell had hit it's target. A smile appeared on his face. He was happy that Hades had hit his target. Something that any duelist would want. Moreover in this round no one had hit his Hades.
However Round 2 was different. Hanako Tone had hit his precious Hades with Ventus charm. Damn! And Hades' attack on Hanako had missed. But he was sue that Hades would hit in the next time. Part of him wished that he was there as a human shield against all the spells that were targeted on his Hades. Damion was sitting there watching the match and hoping that Hades would win this- well Hufflepuff would win this.
