Because his parents threw themselves into their busy jobs with little time left to spend with him, Jesse spent most of his evenings as a child in after school programs or at his local youth football club. At first he resented it. Eventually, however, he fell in love with playing football. He loved his team, loved the club, and was quite talented at it for a kid. He’d also had a competitive streak a mile wide, and was arrogant enough to want to show off in the sport whenever he could. Because of regularly playing football and rugby as a kid, he was quite strong and athletic for his age by the time he reached Hogwarts.

When he was introduced to the wizarding world and went off to Hogwarts, Jesse had left football behind. However, he had started playing Quidditch casually with other students, and fell in love with that sport too. Because of him being quite strong for an eleven year-old (and enjoying the position a lot), Jesse had gravitated towards playing as a beater with his friends. Soon, that became the main position he played.

Now Jesse zipped across the field to intercept a bludger, his grip tightening around the bat in his hands. Adrenaline coursed through his veins, the familiar rush of excitement bringing a self-satisfied smile to his lips. This was his element. He wasn't the best in classes, couldn’t focus during lectures, never casted with as much power as other students. But on a broom, he was magic. The wind whipped through his hair, the bludger only a few meters away. He readied himself to send the ball flying at the opposing team’s seeker - and then suddenly he was sent flying off course.

The other bludger had hit his arm from behind, leaving the beginnings of a nasty bruise in its wake. By the time Jesse righted himself, the opposing team’s seeker was diving for the snitch. The seeker was going to make it. No. Jesse remembered playing in a national U11 football tournament the year before, and his team placing third in the entire thing. In their last game, Jesse had missed a goal in the final minute, costing them the match. He remembered his parents talking to him afterwards - and offering not a single word of congratulations for placing in a national competition. All his mother had said was Oh, honey, it’s too bad about that last goal..

The memory was seared into his brain as Jesse spun around, a fire in his eyes. He couldn’t lose this game. He had to prove to them all that he was the best. Jesse sped towards the nearest bludger faster than ever before. When he reached it, thoughtless fury drove his swing. His bat slammed into the bludger with such force that Jesse found himself thrown backwards by it. It careened towards the opposing teams seeker and smashed into his broom. There was a crack so loud Jesse could hear it all the way across the field. At first he thought he had broken a bone with the bludger, but then the seeker started to free fall through the air. The seeker’s broom, which had split down the center, was falling with him.

Koko and her family were in Germany, in the Black Forest on a hike.
They had walked all day and were exhausted. They stopped on some flat rocks that were there and stretched out for a while. After a while everyone was taking a nap but Koko couldn't sleep. She felt a strange sensation that prevented him from falling asleep completely. When she was half drowsy, she feel something on my arm. She shook her arm to get it off her.
But that thing would not go away so Koko opened her eyes to get it off her arm, when she saw the snake she was speechless with shock, she wanted to scream but her voice could not come out.
Finally she managed to calm down and not make any movement, she was afraid but she also felt a love and fascination towards that snake that did not allow her to shake it off without further ado.
"What's going on" she wondered aloud to herself in confusion.
"It's quite clear girl, you're talking to me".
Koko realized that the voice was coming from the snake.
"Do you speak my language?" she asked curiously.
The snake let out a snort at Koko's ignorance.
"You are speaking my language, dear child."
"And that's a good thing?" asked Koko between intrigued and frightened.
"You would know" said the snake smugly. With that said with a flick of its tail it slithered to the ground and was gone.
Koko did not dare to tell her family immediately what had happened. But at dinner time she thought she had to tell them. Mom, Dad, Ava, I talked to a snake today.
"What have you done what?!!!!!" screamed her hysterical mother.
"I have talked to a snake, when you were sleeping it climbed up my arm and started talking to me."
Her mother looked like she was about to faint. Luckily her father found a logical explanation. You may be parselmouth, your grandmother, (my mother) was. "You may have herited it." Koko felt relieved, that had also happened to her grandmother.
Too bad she was dead. Koko felt sad when she remembered it, she and her grandmother were very close and Koko had a hard time getting over her death.
Suddenly she remembered something, it seemed that her father was also thinking the same thing because he exclaimed "I got it!"
"Do you remember that day when Koko was little that we left her with our grandmother?"
" Yes Yes!" said her sister who also seemed to have understood.
Her father continued "When we got back home we heard a kind of hissing coming from the living room.
When we entered you were there, we asked if you had heard the hiss but you said no. We thought it was the pipes that had a leak, but it was you talking in Parseltongue" said her father exultantly.
"At that moment, I don't think you Koko, realized that you were speaking in parseltongue, and I suppose grandma wanted to tell us when you were older so we wouldn't worry. But she died before..." her father finished with a murmur.
"Yes, I remember that several times he made some comment about how you liked snakes a lot," said her mother, participating for the first time in the conversation.

Koko really wanted to go to Hogwarts and for someone to share her ability, she wanted to know if other people felt the same as her and what things she could do.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Calming Presence
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio
Callista has always been deeply empathetic with an innate desire to understand others. This means that she has the habit of absorbing others’ emotions as if they were her own, and she has a gift for being able to understand others incredibly well–almost as if she were psychic. On top of all of this, Callista also has a heart of gold, always willing to lend a hand or an ear to anyone who needed it. This special combination, paired with her gentle nature, means that she seems to have a perpetual aura of serenity.

Much like a bright fireplace, Callista’s propinquity seems to just set people at ease. She isn’t outgoing or lively like some of the other Hufflepuffs, but she likes to help others. When all you want is to be free of your troubles, and there’s someone who is willing to take the burden off your shoulders and give you unending support, you just can’t help but feel comfortable around them.

In duelling, Callista often struggled with her own feelings of worthlessness, but she also knew that it was important to encourage the newer members. She has a tendency to keep her emotions private, which in this case meant that she knew just how to comfort her fellow duellists without revealing how nervous she herself felt.

This doesn’t just hold true for duelling. Callista extends this kindness to all of her housemates as well. Some of them are stubborn and headstrong, others impressionable and naïve, others shy and reserved, and still others are boisterous and outgoing. Callista almost always knows the way to their hearts. She knows how to get even the most terrified to calm down, how to get the most obstinate to comply, and how to get the most timid to open up.

She is always looking out for those she cares about, and she has the intuition and perceptiveness to notice the little things that most people don’t pick up on. This does also mean that Callista can get a bit overwhelmed at times, especially in crowds, but that’s a story for another day.

In her first year, she had been unsure of herself, prone to overthinking, and pretty much a shy disaster. Callista was, admittedly, still those things, but she’s been getting more comfortable with herself. In slowly parting away those clouds that had seemed to haunt her, Callista’s golden disposition was able to shine through.

If you ever need an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to give you a hug, Callista will always be willing to offer it. Maybe it is just that simple truth that gives her an undeniable ability to set others at ease.

With the end of her third year also came the loss of something that had been with her ever since her first year at Hogwarts—duelling. Callista had met so many amazing (and terrifying) people, and the sport had all but forced her to form connections with her teammates—not that that was a bad thing. But ultimately, she had quit; the reason why was a story for another day.

However, that didn’t mean she hadn’t been working on her spellwork non-stop. She had won a grand total of one match in her duelling career, and if there was anything she had taken away, it was that being able to split your spell in two was, although common on the piste, nevertheless a powerful ability that could quickly turn a duel in your favor. Even though Callista wasn’t a duellist anymore, there was no questioning its utility if there ever came a time where she would need to be in battle again (or if she ever rejoined duelling).

During her third year, she had spent time and time again trying to get her spells to split, but she could never quite get it right. There had been one time where she had come very, very close but lost her concentration at the last moment, and instead of splitting, or even firing at all, her spell had faded like smoke.

But she never really gave up. She just needed a little more time, that’s all. Time to work, to research, to watch and learn. And time she had spent.

The room of requirement soon became her best friend (it wasn’t like she had anyone else to spend the time with) as she tried spell after spell, breaking a sweat from the effort. There had been times when she had flopped onto the floor, staring up at the ceiling under the watchful gaze of a little gargoyle that kept her company, wondering if she should just give up. There had been times when even her wand seemed to rebel against her, perhaps sensing her growing frustration.

There had been times when she had had to sneak back to her dorm because the sun had set too fast and before she’d known it, she was already out past curfew. There had been times when she had considered asking someone for help, for guidance, but the only person she could think of that she would feel comfortable asking for help from—well, Callista was too much of a coward to ask them (or really talk to them, at all).

So wielding her stubbornness alone, she poured hours and hours of her third and fourth year into trying, failing, analyzing, trying again, and failing again, so many times that she had lost count. At some point, she wasn’t even sure why she was putting so much effort into it at all—some twisted sense of guilt, probably, maybe thinking that if she could master this, it would make up for her quitting the team. It didn’t make any sense, none at all, but 13-year-old Callista refused to give up.

(Yes, there had been one… maybe two times where she had had to make a trip to the hospital wing because she’d overworked herself. How could one be so terrible at taking care of themselves?)

(There was also one time where she had split her spell (maybe?), but it had completely backfired, which had been the first time a spell had ever backfired on her. Needless to say, she spent the rest of the day sulking.)

But then, with a muttered “Obscuro,” she was finally, finally able to split it. Callista had speechlessly watched two identical black blindfolds wrap themselves around her two dummy targets. One… two… three…

“OH MY GOD I DID IT!”

The room of requirement had echoed with Callista’s celebratory sounds, and the more spells she had been able to split effectively, the wider the smile on her face. The pool of joy, relief, and earth-shattering pride that bubbled up that day was unparalleled, and she was certain that a little section of her heart would always carry that unshakable sense of pride.

If her steps had been a little brisker, her smile a little wider, and her overall person a little brighter that month… Well, no one could blame her.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Prodigal Transfiguration Learner
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

When Alyssea first did Transfiguration, she liked the concept of it, but she hated it in practice. Okay, 'hate' is a strong word, so 'dislike' was probably the better term. She didn't like physics, even before coming to Hogwarts, so she didn't like Transfiguration at first glance.

But when Christmas break came and she went home to her family, her mother asked her how her studies were going, poking at Transfiguration the most. Confused, Alyssea asked her about her interest in the subject. Her mother was a magical tutor, but Alyssea figured she never taught one specific subject. But as it turned out, Alyssea's mother did specialise in Transfiguration when teaching her students.

Alyssea insisted she wasn't ever going to be good at it. She passed, but it wasn't good enough in her eyes. But her mother only laughed and picked up one of her old, dusty textbooks she used for teaching.

When Alyssea's father came into the living room and saw the book, she shook his head with a playful smile. "Are you trying to indoctrinate our daughter into becoming a Transfiguration lover?"

Her mother only smiled. "Of course not. I'm just helping her fill in her gaps."

For the most part, Alyssea wasn't interested since she was on Christmas holiday. She came to have a break, not have more homework and learning. But that wasn't her mother's intention. Alyssea's mother knew how Alyssea liked to learn things, as she tutored her on her Muggle subjects from time to time. She wanted to make sure she wouldn’t struggle anymore.

She opened the textbook and began explaining the concept with her hands, just as theatrically as Alyssea would explain her own thoughts. When Alyssea didn't understand the states of matter, she took a container of kinetic sand from Alyssea's old toybox and they made the models on their living room coffee table. When she wanted to know the 'why' behind the different laws of Transfiguration, her mother was patient and used countless examples to explain the laws. She even decided to explain a law Alyssea hadn't seen in her textbook yet: Gamp's Law.

When it came time to see Alyssea back on the train to Hogwarts for the final stretch of her First Year, her mother gifted her a box. Inside was the textbook they spent numerous nights hunched over and her mother's own Transfiguration notebook from her years at school. Alyssea gave her a hug as she boarded the train.

She quickly applied everything she learned from her mother in her lessons. Somehow, everything began to make sense and her visualisation of a transformation improved. Her mother's passionate teaching may have contributed to that renewed focus.

Soon enough, she flipped towards the Second Year spells, taking notes of the learning set to come her way.

Part of her extensive musical theatre experience came with learning to maneuver on stage to find 1. the path of least resistance to the next formation and 2. make it on time while still facing an intended direction. While many kids' growth spurts’ caused them to stumble frequently, Alyssea’s height made her nimble movements effortless.

Alyssea loved dancing. While she never had any formal dance training, she knew that watching herself in a mirror would help define her dance lines, perfect her expressions, and navigate the formations without looking backward. Over time, she learned to dance without it, the bodily awareness coming easily to her. She knew which way to orient her body so that she could slip into the line of actors without causing a domino effect; she knew how many steps to take to join the line behind her; she knew how many turns and how far she'd have to stretch her legs to land in her spot and still face the audience.

This ability to move quickly and without faults didn't seem like a special thing to Alyssea. She could move swiftly from years of conditioned practice. Anyone who went through musical theatre in the same way would know. It wasn't something she was born with but learned to develop. After all, if you don't have any spatial awareness on stage, you're as graceful as a baby giraffe.

The extent to how helpful the ability ended up being, she discovered in her first duel in her Second Year. She came into the duel with zero expectations but with the hope of not enduring much damage. But already, it wasn't off to a good start since she'd somehow misplaced her sneakers and had to go in heels. Luckily, she'd played a role where her character wore heels, so it wasn't a brand-new experience. She'd run and danced in heels before. In the first round, she successfully dodged her opponent's spell. In heels.

While her impaired accuracy and evasion (due to a Dancing Feet Spell cast on her and her own Smokescreen Spell) did hinder her ability to dodge later on, she didn't stop. Once the effects wore off, she immediately dodged her opponent's next spell. In heels.

She couldn't believe it, frankly. The Dancing Feet Spell should've worn her out, but the years in theatre really did help her. If that was how nimble she was in heels, just imagine how much better she could dodge in regular shoes.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Dhampir
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio
Lunally (or her real name, Lunalinlova) was born to a witch father with a vampire father (Lunally's grandfather is a vampire ) and a witch mother, making her a Dhampir.. From an early age, she knew she was special, much more special than just a witch. She always felt a kind of attraction when she saw blood. For a long time, she thought she was mentally ill. It wasn't until she was eight that she realised what she was, because her parents finally explained to her and Atlantis what a Dhampir was, and the two little girls identified with each other. Lunally decided to reject her Dhampir nature, while Atlantis wore it with pride. From that day on, she repressed her true identity and became increasingly withdrawn. She began to fear people, the outside world, the way they looked at her and judged her. She hardly speaks to anyone. Ballet dancing is her main passion, allowing her to forget her true nature, but she's afraid that during a class her bloodlust will come out. So she keeps away from everyone for fear of hurting anyone.

In terms of appearance, Lunally looks very much like a typical Dhampir: very pale skin, retractable canines, dark circles, skin almost bone-deep. The only exception is her eyes, which, to her great relief, are not red but brown.

Lunally is a true Dhampir, not only because of her appearance, but also because of her mind, and her phobias of people and others, because she's afraid of what people think of her, and afraid that she might hurt them, or even kill them, unintentionally.

What's more, Lunally's grandfather, Herbert Everhart, is a vampire.

Lunally arouses fear and strangeness in those around her, who are aware of her true nature. As for the girls in her dance class, they think she's abnormal, which has also got into Lun's head. Atlantis, her twin sister, finds it so strange to reject her Dhampir nature instead of embracing it with pride, as she does. So she's alone in the world, and doesn't know what could weigh her down more than the 'burden' of being a Dhampir that she's been forced to live with all her life. She no longer trusts others, fearing that, like Atlantis, someone will let her down in the face of her Dhampir status, just when she needs someone to talk to and listen to her.

Finally, I think that Dhampir's mysterious and unpredictable nature fits in perfectly with Lunally's shyness, social phobia and loneliness. Her nature prevents her from making friends easily, and they find her suspicious because of her pale complexion and dark circles under her eyes. Although these are just doubts, many find her strange, and don't hesitate to make fun of her. This makes Lunally lose all confidence in her, and she asks herself the same question over and over again: why did this have to happen to her? But she remains determined, and clings to her one last dream: to be a prima ballerina. But she has a lot of questions, she doesn't believe in herself, she lacks confidence, and she's constantly wondering how she can succeed with so many competitors and such a special talent.

=> A little note from the writer: I want to make Lunally a Dhampir to give a reason for her fears, and to make her ask a lot of questions about herself, to make her look for herself (and eventually find herself!) The idea is that, as the story progresses, her Dhampir status will no longer be a source of shame for her, but rather a source of pride, and that she will finally be able to open up to the outside world and enjoy life.

As a young child, cicely’s mother had always worried about her deeply, even if she never showed it. Kim Jiwon was a woman born in poverty, yet struck gold as she married a wealthy man. She never got to have a life her daughter did, so wanted cicely to have everything she never could have. However, she grew anxious, worried. She was scared to loose the wealth that she worked hard for, and her daughter. She didn’t want anything bad happening to cicely. So she tried. Cicely wasn’t allowed to play with the other children in the village, because her mother thought they were a distraction, instead planned Cicely’s whole day and hired a nanny to watch Cicely as she didn’t have any time with her daughter, as she was full on on work. Cicely was bored of staying in the house everyday and would often look out of the window and watch longingly at the children playing outside.

Sometimes, when her nanny was busy with something, cicely would sneak out to play outside, cicely moved around without a noise, quick and silent, she would always be up to something mischievous. No one would know it was her. Gradually, her mother began letting cicely meet others, at school. Since cicely never met anyone new before, she was suspicious of everyone, she was labelled as the quiet girl, the loner. Whenever she would meet someone new, she would study them and their actions, determining wether she liked them or not. She had a friend, who was popular, yet her friend always left her out. Sometimes cicely would watch afar at them, studying them and thinking ill of them. Soon she cut her friendship with her friend and took back her title as the quiet girl. During break times at school, she’d sit on the grass and watch everyone play, no one would even talk to her, let alone notice her.

As cicely grew older, she began to be more rebellious. If there was something she wanted to do, she wouldn’t ask her mother, instead she would sneak out at night. She would place a dummy in her bed (pillows) and would sneak out using the back door. She did this often, so often she was a master at it, she could walk past her mother if her mother was having a phone call and her mother wouldn’t even notice her. She took this as an advantage, living the life and doing things her mother never let her, for example, going out. She went to a carnival once, and she knew her mother would never say yes yet she still went. When she came back, she would always go silently upstairs, quiet as a mouse and would get into her bed and sleep, like nothing ever happened.

Age: eleven years.
House: Hufflepuff.

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Edward comes from a well-known pure-blood family in the most remote areas of Norway, where the moon and sun change their places every six long months.
His mother's name is Diane Archer, she attended Hogwarts in Ravenclaw house and was an excellent Quidditch player, very fond of and committed to the sport. It was at a World Cup based in Great Britain where he met Ivan Novak. He came from a huge family of pureblood wizards that came from Norway. They fell in love, got married and moved to the Novak mansion located in Trømso, a completely magical town. His last name was extremely well known, since his family was one of the oldest, and also, they happened to have a strange ability in their genes: they were all metamorphmagus. It is an ability that allows the transformation of a wizard without the need for a polyjuice potion, or without the need to become an animagus. However, it must be constantly trained so that these changes are successful and lasting. A metamorphmagus also has the quality that their hair and eyes alter their colors depending on their mood. In Mr. Novak's words, a metamorphmagus cannot lie, and of course, Edward was no exception to the family. It would be embarrassing for Ed to have to deal with his father's side of his family if for some reason he didn't inherit this ability.

Edward's physical appearance has always been a problem to go unnoticed. In any eventuality that involved muggles, the boy had to cover his leafy curls with a cap and had to put brown contact lenses in his eyes to hide the color. But despite all this, he adores this ability. His humorous and playful way of being was always complemented by his ability to adopt animal faces, making many laugh.

Edward is an intense and talkative boy who, despite being very sociable, tends to be self-conscious when it comes to expressing his own emotions. The ability to be a Metamorphmagus would be critical to his personal development, as it would render him incapable of lying about his emotions and feelings.
In addition, he is very demanding with himself, but he has great difficulty paying attention. Training this difficult skill could be a benefit to its evolution and growth. Edward would train daily the skill not to alter his emotions, and step by step, he would become a less erratic boy and more aware of his own mind. That is the type of development of this character and that ability would be decisive for this to be fulfilled.

As for his story, Edward's parents discovered this gene in their son the day he was born, when his blue eyes suddenly turned yellow when the crying stopped. When he grew up, his hair acquired the same skill. At first, his colors were limited and quite obvious. The color red implied annoyance or anger, blue indicated pain, and yellow represented happiness and laughter.
Over the years, his range of emotions widened greatly, bringing confusion to his peers and also to himself. That's why Edward took the habit of writing down each of the colors he discovered, creating a huge palette inside his notebook, but at the age of fourteen, he will go through puberty. This will come hand in hand with a new personal discovery about his sexuality and his gender orientation, and consequently, all the colors known up to now will change and expand to a much higher range.
The Metamorphmagus ability is necessary for this development, as it will be both the cause and the consequence of his feelings being able to crumble and rebuild on their foundations, giving Edward the growth he seeks.

As a young girl, Lyrra had always been quick to notice the smallest things. Whenever her mother was sewing clothes or baking pastries, or when her father was working on a draft for the daily prophet, Lyrra could always point out the tiniest errors and imperfections, much to her parents' annoyance. But although they found this skill of hers mildly irritating at first, eventually they learned to appreciate it and even make use of it, by often asking their daughter whenever they needed someone to check their stuff for mistakes. For Lyrra it was a game of sorts, and she learned to keep things to herself whenever she wasn't explicitly asked to help out.

Wether it was a lost piece of her mother's jewelry, or one of her little sister's toys, Lyrra was always the first to find it, even when she wasn't actively trying to look for it. Like that one time when her mother's favourite golden bracelet had been lost for days, and she had searched everywhere. But when one day Lyrra walked into her parents' room, she just noticed a glint of gold from the corner of her eye. She had found the bracelet, by pure luck it seemed. But eventually it happened more and more, and it became too often be just that, luck. Lyrra had a talent for noticing things.

From the age of six, Lyrra had been a huge fan of astronomy. She was obsessed with it, wanting to learn everything about the moon, the stars, ans other astronomical objects. Another passion of hers was art, or more specifically, painting. This hobby predated even before her obsession with astronomy had began, but that was when she really started to get serious about it. With the help of her telescope, and an old book with detailed illustrations of planets and stars, she had taught herself to make amazingly detailed paintings of all sorts of celestial objects. This became her favourite activity, and with lots of practise she was eventually able to paint almost exact copies of the illustrated planets in her book.

An activity that Lyrra and her father really enjoyed together was wizard chess. Lyrra's father was quite good at chess, and he taught his daughter the basics of how to play as well as strategies that could be applied in different situations. He was a great strategist, and easily won the first few times they played. But as they played more, and Lyrra really learned how to play, it became clear that she had a skill that her father didn't have, not to the same extent at least. Her ability to notice things before others do came in really handy when playing chess, like when she noticed possible captures before her father did. She became a good chess player, but although her keen eye was helpful in a lot of situations, she wasn't always able to win from her father, as chess required more than just a good eye for detail. Her father was still a better strategist at Lyrra, and more often than not did he win.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Perfectionist
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

It wasn't that it was physically impossible for me to be in the wrong, it was that I just couldn't stand to be. This was apparent from a very young age to my parents, who in the beginning thought I was just being silly.

The first instance that I can remember is back when I was five, a young girl who'd just gotten a little brother. For my birthday, my parents had allowed me to decorate and paint my room anyway I liked. I'd spent weeks researching different looks for my room, ending finally with a small snippet that I'd gathered from a Muggle magazine and a determined mood. While my parents were hard at work or caring for the new baby in the house, I was always in my room, planning and doing. Though I was only a little five year old, it had already been stuck in my mind that my room had to look absolutely perfect. What I'd ended up with after a few weeks, with my parents' help, of course, was the most stunning room that looked almost exactly like the snippet from the magazine. Still, instead of being happy with it when we'd finished, I'd gone and adjusted things for an hour before finally announcing that I was done.

As I grew older, my love for being exactly right only grew. In group projects at school, I wouldn't take an exact role, instead choosing to revise the work of my peers and make it as perfect as I wanted it to be. Any drawings that had wonky lines or colorings that didn't fit in the lines, I would erase and restart. Though this didn't make me a popular person among my school or my Muggle neighborhood, it made me happy to see no errors and I would be happy enough with that.

Whenever someone came over to my house to work on a project, or any of my Muggle friends came over for fun, they would always comment on the neatness and the organized state in which I kept my things. The binders, which were color coded and placed neatly on a shelf, each had dividers to separate the sections. My notebooks and journals were always well kept, with numbered pages and an up to date table of contents. And my room itself was always so tidy. While other mothers would tell their children to clean up their rooms, my mother would tell me to live as a child and mess it up every so often.

As time flew by, I learned to control my instinct to be perfect all the time and limit it to myself. When I was younger, I would try and make everyone be as diligent as I. But I learned to not judge others while still doing what made me happy. In this way, I gained a perfect personality as well.

In the beginning, I'd thought that I'd felt this need because of my horror at the low amount of effort my brother gave to the same things that I gave a lot. Later on, I realized that this wasn't the case. My mother, Cecelia Northwell, was a self-respecting woman who shared my love for perfection. It was from her that I learned my behavior, though I was harsher on myself about it.
