George grinned as he saw Percival evade Sophie's attempted blatching only to fly headfirst into yet another badger, swinging out from behind the waterfall to body slam the pure-blooded snake straight down to the ground below. He looked out into the audience for one snake in particular, @Monica Evans, and stuck his tongue out in her directions. Geez, so much for fairness and sportsmanship from the Badger captain.

Her cheeks were red from riding in the wind, her previously-perfectly styled ponytail now bursting with flyaway hairs. Hopefully Maggie had a good view of her…

The field started to right itself: Jack and Percival found their brooms and rose back into the sky, George finally located the exit to the maze, and Wyatt struggled free of the vines' grasp. The Slytherin racer's first move was to cover the area in a blanket of snow, creating a frigid chill that Della could even feel from her vantage point in the sky. It didn't seem to deter the vines, but it would probably slow down other players. But as the first snowflake touched Wyatt's hair, he was hit with a barrage of wizard crackers—a present from the Hufflepuff captain, who Della could see flying backward from the force of his own spell. She sighed, George would have to do the maze again. Distracted by the badger's blight, Della didn't catch what happened next to Wyatt; all she saw was him falling out of the sky, unconscious. She scanned the field: she didn't think it was the wizard crackers alone that did it, but she didn't see any other foul play either. Della did catch June trying to lob a rock at Sophie, who evaded it easily.

Toward the back of the pack, Simon was making his way through the fog, which he navigated with ease. He caught up to June, and they both shot through the waterfall. The duo joined Sophie in the narrow passageway, where they both knocked their heads a few times. Simon surpassed both girls, and headed for the maze, navigating the puzzle with seemingly no trouble at all.

Now officially in the lead, the eldest badger was the first to contend with Wyatt's parting gift. However, Serena was not only unaffected by the low temperatures but she flew true through the tight passageway.

Even Sophie had dodged the stones and sticks the snakes had flung at her, she felt like she wasn't going to last in this race much longer. She wasn't sure if it was the loss of blood or that rock that hit her, but she did realise she had slowed down her broom by a lot. Sophie was sure she wasn't going to be the one to cross the finish line, and was even more sure that she wouldn't even be alive to see it. She spotted the maze not so far ahead, a jolt of fear hit her.

Sophie had only done a few mazes in her whole life, and all those times she gave up at the end. She didn't have any idea how it was going to go, maybe she could just not enter it? She tried to distract herself with the fact that her opponents were dying left and right, that always seemed to cheer her up.

For once, she successfully managed to cast the spell and also managed to hit her target. These were two things that she had been struggling with today, for some reason. So she was pretty glad that she was actually managing to get her head back into the game. That, at the very least, was progress for her. Perhaps this was not as bad as she thought.

Serena tilted her head slightly as the arrow flew straight towards Wyatt, taking him out. This seemed like an awfully violent spell... this was legal? Odd. But then again, wizarding world sports did seem weirdly okay with violence. It made her worry for the upcoming hexwizard tournament though. Was it going to be worse than quidditch, broom racing and duelling? The three sports did seem brutal - though, oddly enough, duelling seemed the nicest of the three right now.

She sighed softly, tucking her head in and flying straight through the sky before getting through a somewhat narrow passage. It was suddenly a little colder than she had expected but winter was approaching - perhaps it was just coming early? It was okay though, bearable temperatures still. Hopefully, things would pick up. A hiss escaped her lips though as she gritted her teeth at the blood that she had been losing for some time now. The wound she had gotten near the start of the race was starting to wear her out...

This slender Scots Pine would make a fine Christmas Tree but this tree was modified with purpose. A metallic framed seat complete with windshield and stirrups has been added at the back, serving as the tree's counterweight. This sturdy, reliable tree that will definitely get the job done.

This broom is intended to carry multiple people. When someone uses the catch option to rescue a falling teammate, they can catch one additional teammate in a given round. This broom can carry up to four users. If the user has the ability Catch then a user can catch an indefinite number of teammates in a round, but for each person they catch after the first there is a stacking 20% auto-failure chance. Returning users to their broom is a free action for the owner of the blue bottle, but those being returned to their broom need to use their action getting to their broom. Only one person can be returned to their broom as a free action (for the owner) per round, they can use their action to return a second user however.

June pushed through the waterfall, but the sensation was greatly different than what the girl had expected, her grip loosened as she pushed through and she felt herself slow down. “Come on, Selwyn. We’re not finishing this without a fight…”

Gray grunted and got back onto his broom as quickly as possible. Many of his team had been knocked out by this point, for all he knew he was the only left against a whole team of Huffs. The chances of him winning was low, but he had to try all he could to make the most out of this race. If he paid the price doing it, then so be it.

Free from the maze, George looked ahead and saw that Wyatt seemed to be keep on making an escape from his leafy prison among the vines. No, no... not on his watch. George decided to end the Slytherin race leader with a bit of flair, following up on the shower of arrows from the sixth-year with a charming *pop* of a Christmas cracker that sent him flying backward and his target flying down to the ground. "So, how are you finding broom racing?" George called to June, who was now sharing the space with himself and Sophie.

With his feet off the ground again, Jack could feel his seething red-hot anger grow strong. His fingers burned with ever-burning ire, and within moments a rock was in his hands. Jack couldn't remember when he had leaned over to grab the projectile, but he had it now. All that was left was to let it fly. It most definitely knew its target well.

One of the odd, yet most fascinating aspects of broom racing were the fans. The spectators of staff and students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry that would come and attend events always did so with such vigor. They would watch, and as a collective whole they would announce some "oohs" and "ahhs" loud enough to be heard from the course. There were a couple from that round, and while Simon couldn't be sure they were in Hufflepuff's favor, he could only hope.
