Slytherin hadn't yet experienced enough good luck as to win any of these broom races, but they certainly hadn't yet experienced any bad luck either. No one left the team with permanent injuries, which Wyatt was almost expecting to become common practice at Hogwarts after the introduction of the sport. Before he started taking the thought that it could be him, first, seriously, Wyatt evaporated that train of thought and readied himself for the race.

Interacting with everyone

Percival shot off down at the track at top speed, going naturally to the front of the pack trying to get away from the main bulk. The first challenge was the thorn and trees which Gray managed to dodge and weave around them with ease, others on the hand weren't so lucky. Coming out the other side Gray thought he was at least going to get some kind of respite for a short time, up until the bird muck came crashing down on them.

Percival almost vomited from the stench alone, but if he did he knew it was going to give the opposite team the opportunity to strike. Gulping down whatever was coming up his throat he pressed forwards, trying to stay calm and composed going forwards.

A rush of adrenaline flooded June as she charged from the starting line. Perhaps it was beginners luck, or perhaps June's nerves had made her focus so razor-sharp, but June felt so at ease as she weaved through the vines and darted between trees unscathed. She could do this, she could actually do this!

"WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Colin felt the exhilaration of speed as soon Della cried 'Go!' His broom wasn't the fastest, but that was okay. Speed wasn't everything in racing, and some would need to race ahead and others hang back a bit. Colin might not personally win this race, but he'd do anything and put himself in any danger to make sure Slytherin did win!

All the racers rocketed flat out through the open space! But soon enough the obstacles started slowing some of them down. No matter how he tried to dodge them, Colin felt the thorns of the vines shredding his racing robes and his shirt, and he knew he was bleeding as they ripped and tore into his skin! He looked around quickly --- most everyone got through okay. His mate Vale hit the thorns pretty hard though.

As they all raced on towards the trees, Colin sped onward as fast as he could, relying on his ability to evade. "Whew!" He got by two trees without a scratch, and was able to make up some time. As he came towards the edge of the forest, he could see that several of his team mates had pulled ahead. Then Colin's eyes began to water and his nose was assaulted by horrible! He blinked his eyes several times to clear them and he took a broken tree branch to the neck and upper part of his left shoulder!

Oh, that's gonna hurt real bad later! he thought, but Oh my goodness! What is that pong!? Usually his wolfy sense of smell came in handy, but this was torture! "WHOA! What is that demon shit smell?" he cried. He wondered which professor had to dig that stench up from the pits of hell! It was coming from up ahead, and Colin wondered if those around him, his team mate June or the Huffs could smell it. They didn't seem to be reacting, but maybe their noses were stuffy or something?

Anyway, Colin wanted to have nothing to do with flying into boss death eater level evil shit stink, but he was in the race with everything he had! Whether that meant bleeding or dying or even worse --- like heading nose first into zombie corpse liquor stank --- then so be it! He steeled himself for what was surely to come!

George sighed as he watched his team slam through the thorns, shaking his head with disappointment. Was he the only one who knew how to race on this team? Of course, he had expected poor Sophie to get caught in some of the obstacles... but she came out much worse for wear than he had expected. And covered in poop. It was funny how the newest member of the team always seemed to have the worst luck - at least Hugh wasn't here to throw a tree through her like he did at the start of his race. Ah well - pushing forward, he leaned down on his broom, flying dead ahead as they approached the middle of the race course.

Sophie wanted to scream on top of her lungs "PIGEONS WILL YOU PLEASE POOP ON SOMEONE ELSE NEXT TIME?!?!?" But she knew that pigeons will not respect her and not understand a word she was saying and do it again. First, she got hit by thorns and trees, and now she got pooped on by pigeons. That was definitely not the way she wanted to start a race.

She heard the word 'go' and that was enough. Without hesitation, the badger started to zoom ahead - speeding up far too quickly, it would seem. She came across a bunch of thorns that should have been rather easy for her to navigate through - she had done it plenty of times before! But for some reason, she struggled. Perhaps it was just that she was going way too fast. A hiss escaped her lips as she gritted her teeth together. The pain surged through her body and she knew this was not going to go well. She did not need to look at it to appreciate the fact that she had messed up somewhere.

Focus, focus, focus, She repeated to herself in a mantra, trying to calm herself down. Exhaling, she knew what she needed to do. She needed to slow down, focus and realign herself. Right now, she was very much out of control and if she continued this way, it would never go well. Her gaze flickered from the course for a brief moment, trying to spot her teammates - or opponents. They were nearby. Her captain was not too far away. It seemed like everyone had, somehow, managed to keep up the pace. Whether they were doing better than her or not was something she was unaware of. All she knew was that she had to take a deep breathe, calm herself and try this again. She had to regain control of her broom before it was too late and if that meant slowing down and taking a moment, she would just have to do that.

Pine Chopper
This slender Scots Pine would make a fine Christmas Tree but this tree was modified with purpose. A metallic framed seat complete with windshield and stirrups has been added at the back, serving as the tree's counterweight. This sturdy, reliable tree that will definitely get the job done.

Ability: Immune to broken broomshaft.
This broom is intended to carry multiple people. When someone uses the catch option to rescue a falling teammate, they can catch one additional teammate in a given round. This broom can carry up to four users. If the user has the ability Catch then a user can catch an indefinite number of teammates in a round, but for each person they catch after the first there is a stacking 20% auto-failure chance. Returning users to their broom is a free action for the owner of the blue bottle, but those being returned to their broom need to use their action getting to their broom. Only one person can be returned to their broom as a free action (for the owner) per round, they can use their action to return a second user however.

Outfit of the Day

Anger is a helpful tool in sports such as these. The boy could only see red with his broom firmly planted between his legs. These events brought out the worst in Mr. Warren, and his anger only kept growing. The snakes were in for a bad time as the boy glanced down for the nearest weapon he could find.
