Day 2
Saturday, 22nd of October 2022
On this cold and rainy October sunday the castle seemed oddly quiet, if it wasn't for the excitement the duelling club had caused. It was day two of the duels, which allowed the students to spectate even more of the duels and cheer for their friends and people they considered family. Or perhaps they only wished to watch a duel out of spite to mock their enemies? Anyway, there were whispers everywhere in the castle about the matches that would take place this day. Bets were made and odds were calculated. It was an exciting day for both the spectators, the duellists and the moderators of the duels, as this was the second day of trying out the new way of the duelling club, in which matches were based on skill level and personal achievements, rather than being utterly random.
As normal there were three duels that would take place in the morning, whereas the other three took place in the afternoon. Another special thing was, that this would be the stage in which the first scores would be gathered. A measuring of strength if one would want to call it that.

Day 2
Afternoon Slot - 12:30 - 13:30, Match 11
Blue in English, Red in KoreanEun-ji went to spectate duels once in a while although that was mostly to assess other duellists’ capabilities and style. This time she had more specific reason to be here…that is, to see how Kim was doing. She actually learned that he joined the sport during summer from Charles. The two friends have been writing each other so he kept her updated as well. To be perfectly honest, Eun-ji didn’t feel like leaving the tower today but her ‘fiancé’ was extremely excited as well as a little bit worried about his best friend so he made her promise to check up on him. The witch didn’t mind keeping an eye on the boy, she just wasn't keen on socializing. Never mind that. People will probably focus on the duels not the other students watching. She had to go. This was Kim’s first official championship match and those could be pretty rough. Eun-ji had been there.
Ironically, the young lion would be facing Julian, who happened to be the opponent for the very first match of her own duelling 'career'. Hopefully he doesn't enjoy setting people on fire as much as he did back then. The Hufflepuff was a year older now and knew more spells so technically it shouldn’t be a problem...right? Nessie, she didn’t know at all. Eun-ji wasn’t very familiar with the younger students. She barely recognised the ones from Ravenclaw, let alone other houses. Kim and some other youngsters from the cooking club were an exception. Well year wise, they are perfectly balanced so this should be interesting.
Finding herself a good seat, the witch pulled out the sketch book Kim gifted her at one point. Well it was supposed to be a journal but she decided to use it for drawing so sketchbook it became. Eun-ji was good at multitasking. Sketching as she watched the match sounded like a good idea to her. She would look properly occupied but still be able to pay attention to what was going on in front of her. Yeah…sounds perfect. If Kim would glance her way, she would nod at him in silent support but otherwise stay put. Yelling and waving passionately simply wasn’t her style and he already knew as much for sure.

Day 2
Kim and dueling… Kim and dueling bailey thought. “What could go wrong?”Afternoon Slot - 12:30 - 13:30, Match
Pacing the length of her dorm, Bailey sighed and resigned herself to the fact that Kim knew how to protect himself, that he’d be fine, and that it would be moderated.
plus, dueling is kinda cool! Bailey thought, remembering that she was half considering joining.
Walking down to where the duels would be taking place, Bailey had her bag over she shoulder.
In her bag Bailey had a book to read, her wand, a notebook, some snacks, including chocolate chip biscuits (cookies) and some bacon slices from breakfast.
Entering the dueling club room, Bailey spotted @Kim Sato. He looked to be in his natural habitat, and if he look up to see her shed offer a smile that was on the edge of being a smirk.
She loved Kim as a friend, and they seemed to be everywhere together. She knew that there rumors that she and Kim were dating, but they were not.
Seeing a familiar face, Bailey walked over to @Eun-ji Lee Hunt, a fellow Ravenclaw who bailey knew was also friends with Kim.
Sitting down next to the other girl, Bailey took out the cookies and her book.
“Here to see Kim? Or do you have your own duel today?” bailey asked, before offering a cookie and asking politely [color=#0000ff “Do you want a cookie? I made them the other day for a club meeting, and had some left over.”[/color]

Day 2
Afternoon Slot - 12:30 - 13:30, Match 11
Blue in English, Red in KoreanFor a moment or two, Eun-ji occupied her space in relative peace. It didn’t stay that way for long however. She was almost certain she would be approached as soon as she spotted the blonde entering the room. Eun-ji wasn’t too familiar with the younger students but she knew Bailey Glade. The witch was only a year below her and she seemed attached at the hip with Kim, which meant it was nearly impossible not to run into her once in a while. Not to mention they were both part of the cooking club. The older girl probably never came across as overly friendly but she was always polite when they interacted so Bailey had no reason to avoid her.
To be perfectly honest, it was not that she didn’t like Bailey, she simply tried to stay away from people in general. No matter how lovely they may have been. In fact, the more lovely they were, the more she wanted to keep them at arm’s length. Kim got to weasel his way into her life due to his close relationship with Charles and the fact that he was a pure-blood helped a great deal. The boy was safe. She didn’t have to worry about him too much. Bailey on the other hand, as far as Eun-ji knew, was a muggle-born, which was the least favourable scenario. She was right there with Sam except Sam got the worst of it because they actually used to be somewhat close. Bailey at the very least wouldn’t get hurt by her senior like her current duelling captain did last year. That was an extremely painful experience. One they would probably remember for a long time.
“Yes, I’m here to check on him. My duel was yesterday.” Eun-ji answered calmly. She was still set on her original plan of sketching and spectating at the same time however, that didn’t mean she couldn’t exchange a few words with her fellow Ravenclaw. “Do you want a cookie?” Looking at the baked goods, the older girl slowly shook her head. “Thank you but I don’t really eat sweets.” Well, occasionally she did but it was extremely rare and she had a very narrow selection of sweets she actually liked. Ironically, there were quite a few sweet things Eun-ji could make but she always made them for others, never for herself.

Day 2

Colin loved to duel! It excited him as much to feel another's magic being unleashed against him as it did to feel the rush of sending his own magic onto someone else. He himself had participated in four duels so far, all unofficial, but all so much fun! Colin was so very excited to learn that his cousin Regina would be participating today and he headed up to the duelling club to watch.
Arriving early, he found a seat and watched as the stage was readied for Regi's match. It looked like she'd be fighting against Ravenclaw. Colin smiled. He knew Samantha Salwis, a Ravenclaw prefect. He didn't know the other two duellists, though, but read that all but Cade were third year. He was looking forward to a great match, and he didn't have to wait long for that match to begin!
Santario, an older Slytherin girl was the moderator and she called up the duellists! "OWOOOOOOOO!!! GINA!! GINA!! GINA!!" Colin shouted out before Santario gave the start signal.
Colin smirked as Regina began with a taunt --- aimed at Sam. She dished it back, and Colin knew this would be a really good match. His eyes lit up and his mouth hung open as Regina's opening spell, a whirlwind, buffeted Cade but split and almost hit Sam as well!
But, oh crap! Sam landed mimblewimble on his fiery cousin! Colin had to acknowledge that Sam hit her really hard. He knew Regina was silently shouting some choice invective! Surely she'd come up with a really good comeback --- just as soon as her tongue started working again!

Day 2
Morning Slot - 10:30 - 11:30, Match 9

Cheering on his girl, @AngelFyre McCubbin
Dueling - it was a sport as unpredictable as broom racing, if not more. Simon had to give credit to anyone who had the nerve to go up against an opponent in a duel and even though sometimes in classes they learned defensive and offensive spells, he never really planned to take on a profession where he would use any of them. Then again, dhampirs weren't the best spellcasters.
He wasn't there this Sunday morning for him; not by any means. This morning he would reserve his usual Sunday morning reverence and place it on hold because he wanted to show support for his girl. Emma was her partner, a fellow Hufflepuff prefect. "GO ANGELFYRE! GO HUFFLEPUFF!" he shouted as he cupped his hands over his mouth to help amplify the sound. He wanted to be heard over everyone.
It was his hope that things wouldn't get too intense, because if AngelFyre was in any pain or danger, he was going to have a hard time remaining a spectator and not interfering with the match. He told himself over and over in his head that he needed to keep a level head no matter what. This was AngelFyre and Emma's battle to face and not his own.

Day 2
Afternoon Slot - Match 11
Kim had a duel today, and Alec would be attending. After Kim's duel at summer camp, Alec had a few critiques to offer, Alec mentioned be willing to help Kim out with his duelling skills, the other agreed. Alec was surprised Kim had agreed but he meant the offer when he said it. They were on strange terms now, Alec didn't know how to describe it. After switching dorms he'd found he was stuck with Kim. And with summer duelling practice him and Kim continued to be more involved, though Alec tried to be friendly, he wasn't sure they were on friendly terms.
He didn't aim to pick sides and be on friendly or unfriendly terms, he was fine with the neutral, albeit, confusing mix. Alec had already had his duel the day before, there were no before duel nerves to shake off as he entered to watch Kim. Did he have faith Kim would do well? Not entirely no, summer camp was short and besides, Alec didn't know how coordinated Kim was with his partner, it was an important factor in duelling.
Taking a seat in the spectator stands, Alec would wave to Kim, he was a little late but the duel looked like it was just starting to ramp up anyway. Alec would wait and watch. Maybe pat Kim on the back in he did well today. Sympathy chocolate frogs were to be sent to the hospital wing if not.

Day 2
@Eun-ji Lee Hunt wasn’t showing much enthusiasm. She isn’t showing any emotion really - besides calm and I’m not sure that counts Bailey thought.
After offering a cookie and being tuned down, Bailey ate hers and looked around. Spotting @Alec Mason, someone she considered a friend, if she ignored the dare he gave @Marius Brown that injured the latter.
it was just a dare Bailey thought, waiving to Alec.
Getting up, Bailey moved away from Eun-ji Lee, since she felt that the girl wanted to be alone.
Bailey went and found a seat separate from other people, and she pulled out her notebook. She doodled some cake and other pastry designs as she watched Kim’s duel.
Munching on another cookie, Bailey watched as Kim and the other people there dueled. Bailey saw @Julian Pritchard, a fellow third year, who was in the noble house of hufflepuff. She also spotted @Nessie Swansea, the other Hufflepuff, and Kim’s teammate and fellow Griffindor @Everly Charlton. Bailey sucked at understanding dueling as she had not been to many, and she couldn’t tell who was winning.
Making a mental note to read up on the topic and to attend @Kim Sato’s other duels. Maybe he would even duel @ Hanako Tone, someone she had met at the Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin Quidditch Match.
Bailey still did not fully comprehend why the boy talked to her, but she counted him among her numerous friends.

Day 2

"She's gonna do something. She's gonna do something!" Colin whispered. Colin had come to know Regina a very little bit. He knew she wasn't one for wasting words. Or actions. She was reserved and it seemed to him calm on the outside.
But there was a fire inside. He believed that it burned her as much as it would scorch the birds today. He didn't know the nature of the fire, but he knew there was just something --- off. Not crazy off or silly off. Just terrifying about Regina. He'd never met anyone quite like her before: she could be both tender and also hard.
She was a girl that anyone who crossed her would be a fool to do so. To underestimate her would mean destruction. And now, he was seeing a little of what she was capable of. It wasn't the wandless magic he'd heard about --- but it was spectacular all the same! It was something about her vivid purple eyes. They just bored straight into Salwis and cut through to the other side!
Colin recognised that stare! His own lips curled back and he growled low. Regina was hunting! It was the stare of a predator that had fixed upon a tiny mouse. She stood motionless and there was power in her. Salwis quailed --- he knew the feeling of dread she must be feeling. He'd seen that deadly stare many times reflected back to him in the eyes of hares and field mice and squirrels. He could see the wolf staring back and he knew they felt the terror of the wolf.
Colin was not able to do that in his boy form he knew. He was impressed, though, and respected Regina who could do this and not be a wolf! That glare! He knew that if she tried that on him, he would be daunted; but whatever was so terrible about Regina's presence, it also energised him! He couldn't help but stare at her as her partner's body bind crashed into Salwis and seized up and fell like a log to the piste.
"Whoa." Colin blinked several times. "That was bloody brilliant!" Colin was up on his feet in an instant, howling for Team Gryffindor! "OWOOOOOOOOOO!!! REGI! REGI! GRYFFINDOR! GRYFFINDOR!"

Day 2
afternoon slot, match 12
The repeated hits of scorching flames against her skin had her flocking towards another sport. Coward? Perhaps. She valued life and self-preservation greatly. While she would not continue to duel: her last match being quite a traumatic one set on fire repeatedly by her boyfriend's own cousin, she would still find herself in the duelling club today. Not for her, but rather for her roommate and former duelling partner. They would technically be sister-in-law sometime in the near future
As one of the later duels, there weren't really many spectators by the sidelines as side from two who were also seemed to be fans of the ravenous lioness. Yet Regina's attention remained glued onto the match, it was ironic to imagine herself once in that position. Oh, how she did not miss duelling. The one overseeing was the same Slytherin, Martin, that had mediated the duel when Regina's was her partner. Regina was hissing harsh remarks, as usual, it was typical of her. But she could feel that the girl was more restrained this time than when she was viciously throwing flames every which way at their opponents then.
If the lioness turned her way, Aurelia would merely give a curt smile and shout a short, "You got this Regin - careful... " It was only the afternoon, perhaps she could treat both the girls to a celebratory drink after, no matter if Regina won or not. The sixth year would stick at the stands till the end of the duel, mouthing encouraging words to her roommate and future sister-in-law throughout.
