B E F O R E ..........................H O G W A R T S Rebecca is the youngest child of Gunther Loops and Jen Wiggins. Despite coming from a magical family, neither of his parents come from any sort of distinguished or pure family line. Rebecca grew up with one foot in both worlds, being quite close with the muggle cousins on his mother's side of the family. They never have much extra in the way of money, but always scrape by. He has two sisters, Emelia and Morgan, both of whom have already graduated from Hogwarts. Reducio Rebecca had a good, if not a little isolated childhood. His sisters were busy with Hogwarts, and were consequently gone for most of the year. Growing up, Rebecca's mother made a point to homeschool all her children on muggle world history. He has several muggle relatives (unaware of magic) and through them he knows a passable amount of knowledge of the non-magical world, although he's never had his own computer or phone so he's perpetually a couple years behind what's currently trending. Rebecca's first instance of accidental magic was when he was seven, one of the neighbor's dogs had gotten loose and started chasing him-- he escaped by leaping straight up onto the roof. His oldest sister, Emelia, has moved to New York to marry her muggle sweetheart, but Morgan continues to live at home and works for the Ministry in the Department of Mysteries.

P E R S O N A L I T Y Rebecca is impulsive and underhanded. He tends to try and push other people's limits as far as they'll go just for the sake of watching what happens. That being said, he's genuinely very friendly and likes making connections with new and interesting people. He has a habit of worming his way into everyone's heart through the power of an infectious personality and warm attitude. Tough luck if he thinks that you're boring, it's hard to capture his attention for too long. He's prone to getting caught up in fun diversions rather than taking himself seriously, but part of him wishes that he could do something great one day.

At the start, Rebecca's first year at Hogwarts was fun in an uncomplicated sort of way. He had a knack for making new friends, did well in most classes, did very well in Transfiguration, and started cobbling together a reputation. It was going well... right up until he witnessed a bombing in Diagon Alley during winter break and learned that the Ministry of Magic had accused SCARAB for the crime. Rebecca's current goal is simple: figure out what the hell is going on. Unfortunately, he continued to encounter nothing but trouble in the new semester; two students lost their minds and attempted to murder his best friend's roommate and then Rebecca got choked out by a shadow... monster thing during what should have been just a boring school dance. God, those dances have got to be cursed or something. Plus whatever's festering in the Forbidden Forest, add that to the list of horrifying school mysteries.

He usually wears extravagantly patterned button-up shirts and socks with sandals (when the weather permits). He fancies himself a poet, but currently works for the Leaky Cauldron as a custodian.

JEN WIGGINS ravenclaw | muggleborn ____________ Reducio _______________________________ Jennifer has a dry wit and indomitable spirit. She graduated one of the top of her class in '01 but turned down any offers to work for the Ministry, instead opting to pursue getting a Muggle law degree.

EMELIA LOOPS hufflepuff | 19 y/o ____________ Reducio _______________________________ Emelia has always been a hopeless romantic and a complete sweetheart. She saved a Muggle from a gang of Hinkypunks and it was love at first sight. They're happily married now and living together in New York.

MORGAN LOOPS ravenclaw | 18 y/o ____________ Reducio _______________________________ Morgan is the only member of the Loops family who actually dresses according to 'wizarding' fashion. She is a seer (albeit not a very powerful one) and works for the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Mysteries. This is a bit of a sore spot between her and the rest of her family, but nevertheless she takes pride in her job.

____________________________ Orginally "Loope," the Loops' are descendents of a small wizarding community in the Black Forest. The magical folk were never seperate enough from muggles or half-bloods to ever be considered a true pureblood family, they were known to mingle with the non-magical folk as healers and protectors. Occasionally a Loops is born with the ability to peer into the future, but that power seems to have been diluted over the centuries, and most Loops Seers can't predict anything more than next week's weather forecast. Rebecca's great-grandparents fled with their only son to Britain to escape the brewing hatred in Germany. It was there that his grandfather met and fell in love with Rebecca Stern, (Rebecca's grandmother and namesake) a half-blood Gryffindor who fought against Voldemort's army in both wizarding wars and was briefly imprisoned in Azkaban during Yaxley's puppet administration. She had two children, Gunther and Gilbert Loops. Gunther met his future wife, muggleborn Jennifer

Wiggins, at Hogwarts. When the second war broke out, Jennifer was forced to live in hiding from snatchers in the Loops' home for a year, and barely escaped when their house was raided resulting in Rebecca Sr's arrest. Thankfully, Voldemort was defeated only a few weeks later, and no one else was captured or killed. After Hogwarts, Gunther made a bit of money writing poetry for a local newspaper and Jennifer worked a muggle job as a clerk. In 2004 they had their first daughter, Emelia, and one year later they had a second, Morgan. Money was tight-- Jen came from a low-income family and the Loops' never had much gold to spare to begin with-- but they could make do. Ten years later they had another child, a son they named Rebecca in honor of his grandmother (although they conceded his middle name would be 'Fletcher,' which was their second choice). ____________________________ .

BEDROOM Reducio _______________________________ Up a rickety ladder, Rebecca's room is tucked away in the attic of their terrace house. The space is small and cluttered, you're likely to trip over a discarded textbook or shoe. What little wallspace he has is plastered with Quidditch banners, music merch, and a handful of moving polaroid photos of a very ugly cat. A writing desk is squeezed next to the window with a lava lamp and the owl cage next to a large and ancient-looking wardrobe. There's also a dusty 2001 laptop on the desk that Rebecca is trying (and perpetually failing) to make functional. LAYOUT Reducio _______________________________ 447 Forest Rd, London. The Loops family rents from a lovely old Squib couple who live in the basement, which has its own detached entrance. The house is narrow, but nothing a good extension charm can't help with. Kitchen and sitting room are on the ground floor, then up a tight spiral staircase to a cluttered library and a little hallway with doors leading to the office and master bedroom. The second floor is where Morgan sleeps-- they have to share a cramped bathroom. Rebecca sleeps in the attic, which is accessed via a ladder in the ceiling. There's not a single neat room in the whole house, the family has a proclivity towards untidiness and hoarding. The walls are dotted with moving pictures; a baby Rebecca holding a ladybird and smiling wide at the camera, Emelia and Mathew's postcard from their honeymoon in America, a grainy wedding photo, a signed picture with Gwenog Jones of the Hollyhead Harpies, etc. KITCHEN Reducio _______________________________ The kitchen is the beating heart of the entire house, where everyone tends to gather. They take meals on their wobby dining table, Rebecca's dad loves to do a bit of baking, and everyone scrounges for snacks at various points throughout the day. Their cupboard is kept well stocked with crisps, pot noodle, and other wild varieties of muggle junkfood.
