A Considerate Sponsor
Rebecca slumped into his spot on the bench of Slytherin table and half-heartedly stabbed a fork into some eggs and hash. The Great Hall wasn't yet full this early in the morning, the majority of the students preferring to sleep until classes started. Above, the enchanted ceiling promised a rainy morning. Privately, he was grateful that all his classes would be indoors.
Halfway through pouring himself a cup of coffee, he was interrupted by a familiar scraggly hoot! Rebecca nearly dropped the kettle in shock as he looked up and spotted Barnaby, his sister's old screech owl right before it landed on a platter of ham, getting rainwater and feathers all over the table. He hastily put the kettle down and reached for the miserable bird.
"Budge over, menace," Rebecca groaned and shooed the owl off of the food.
It complied-- begrudgingly-- and extended its leg towards him. Rebecca untied the attached letter, and was curious to see that there were two pieces of paper within the envelope, one a hastily scribbled note and the other a more official looking document. He read the note first.
Rebecca slipped the letter away into a pocket of his robes, still smiling. The door to a whole new world of oppertunities had just been opened.

A spark of excitement lit inside Rebecca as he quickly pulled out the other paper from the envolope.To my baby brother,

The slip had Rebecca's own name and a forgery of their mother's signature. A grin spread across his face. God Bless you, Morgan, he thought. The owl, sensing that the job was done, snatched a bit of ham and took off.This document hereby serves to state the aforementioned third-year student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is permitted to visit the village of Hogsmeade at such a time that the school arranges, and with the signature of the undersigned parent or guardian.
The student shall abide by all such rules & regulations relevant to such expeditions and set by the school.
