Hadrian couldn't care less about this school. The old building was an eyesore and in need of a makeover. Even in Spring, the Scottish grounds were still frigid. That was his first thought when the chill of wind hit the moment he step foot out of the ship. It was a dreadfully long journey as always. About twice a year they journeyed to the school, for whatever reason. But it wasn't the excessive balls and festivals that gave Hadrian the incentive to sign up for another exchange. It was because of her.rping as Hadrian Zuheir - open for interactions
A long-distance relationship was not the best maintained especially given that the mode of wizarding communications were large birds. It just wasn't ethical at all to send an owl flying massive distances across the seas. At least it gave both the teens a break, it seemed that they needed quite some time away as they did together. He found that she got significantly distant if not. At Ilvermorney at least there was Heinrich, soon to be brother-in-law.
But now he was back at Hogwarts. 5 full months apart. Oddly enough, instead of searching on his own level, his eyes scanned the skies above, hoping to catch sight of a certain owl.

Chikao rested within the boat and gave out another short but loud yawn. Hearing his name being said perked his ears, and slowly caused him to open his eyes. In front of him was the lovely Sana Ohashi calling out to him within the boat. Even suggesting to sit next to him. Chikao wasn't much of a love seeker, but he always enjoyed teasing other students whether older or younger than him.Interacting with: @Juniper Kelly as Sana Ohashi
Giving a slight smile with eyes still slightly drooped, Chikao spoke up to Ohashi-chan, " Ohashi-chan! Calling me by the first name I see, didn't know we were that close," Chikao gave a faint chuckle as he stood up and stretched, looking down at all the other students within the boat. Sleeping for so long can bring a trick to one's own mind. As Chikao stood and looked down on those around him, it reminded him of when he use to wear blue robes and looked down with a stern look rather than a smiling one. "Does that mean I can call you Sana?" Chikao gave another small chuckle towards his own question. Assuming it was a slip of the tongue, Ohashi-chan really shouldn't have been calling Chikao by his first name. He didn't really mind it. In fact, he didn't care who called him in such western ways. This was mostly due to how he cared little about most things when it came to professionalism or respect. Chikao no longer demands respect, and he never will again (at least he thinks). However, the reason she was to avoid it was because of who Chikao was. Being a lavender-robed boy didn't mean extremely too much, but being a student who was once a navy blue and chose to be lavender was a different story. Chikao sometimes believed those who were his friends left him because they were being bullied. That's what he believes, and that's what he hopes.
Listening to Ohashi-chans request, Chikao considered to help and row with the rest of them. He hadn't done much else today, and all the waiting was really nerve-racking. "Okay Ohashi-san, I'll help row," Chikao stood up and walked over to another student to request their oar. Taking hold of a new oar, Chikao took his seat across from Ohashi-chan and was prepared to row with minimal effort.
Before rowing though, he looked back at Ohashi-chan, "I am strong, you are right. However, I don't exactly think I should row without some fun, don't you agree? A lovely person like yourself must have a good singing voice, so how about a bit of singing to brighten the mood? How about Sōran Bushi? (A Japanese sea shanty) And when we reach shore, you gotta dance with me while singing. A good way to prepare for the ball," Already forgetting his Professors request for them all to be quiet, Chikao had enough peaceful time for the night. With one last laugh, Chikao began to sing the first part of Sōran Bushi in a loud enough tone to where only those in the boat could hear him. Anticipating and encouraging others to join him, he slowly rowed and would only put in the effort if Ohashi-chan joined in with his singing.
"Ya-ren, so-ran, so-ran, so-ran, so-ran. Nishin Kita ka to Kamome ni toeba"

She waited for a reaction from the boy, but the reflective surface of the mask only displayed Winnie's own angered expression. It was almost the cause of an optical illusion, her furrowed brow seemingly belonging to the masked boy. The costume made him resemble a type of villain she would often see in her muggle cartoons. The type of movie where the world made sense and a happy ending was always guaranteed.
She reflectively caught the bag that was tossed at her, though the surprise of the action caused her to stumble back a bit. Thankfully the slick mud had failed to cause her to fall, though she was left looking rather stunned. "What the--" She started to mumble, her confusion cut short when her boyfriend cast Fumos. "HEY!" She called out, waving her arm through the air to attempt to swat the smoke away.
She stumbled forward, attempting to flee the radius of the spell, but by the time she escaped the smoke Mathias had disappeared. "Matt-- MATT! Come back here, jerk!" They had dated for months, and this was all he could say to her? Was she not worth more than that? She didn't understand how the boy who she assumed had once cherished her could be suddenly aloof and cruel. Tears stung her eyes, threatening to escape. Her fingers gripped the strap of the smooth white leather bag he had tossed at her. She assumed it was a distraction, though perhaps it still was, but the style didn't exactly suit Mathias. As pretty as the former Slytherin was, the feminine bag did not scream 'Mathias Pride'.
It must have been meant for her. Perhaps the contents were the gifts she had sent him during Christmas. A return of gifts wasn't uncommon during a break-up, though she had no plans to do the same. Matt would have to pry the first edition copy he had given her of the Tales of Beedle the Bard from her cold dead hands.
"Stupid Matt..." She grumbled to herself, her fingers starting to play with the clasp of the satchel. "Who the hell does he think he is?" Shaking fingers managed to click the mechanism into place. "He was the one who said see you soon, why the hell isn't he ta-- WHOA!" Her monologue would be disrupted as the large gown shot out from within the bag. Luckily the fabric flowed through the air with ease, though the same couldn't be said for the pink strap shoes that would knock an on-looker on their head (feel free to say this was your character).
Winnie would step back, attempting to catch the large gown. She would fall, given the size of the thing, landing into a pile of mud with a soft groan. The dress and her parka splashed with mud, it was lucky she knew a cleansing charm. "Why...?" Her hands quickly tried to fold the gown up, ready to shove it back inside the satchel while admiring the beautiful embroidered flowers.
It was breathtaking, it could have been straight out of a fairy-tale, the product of a Fairy God Mother. Still, she didn't understand why Matt was carrying around a dress. Sure, he would look great in it, but it was more so her style. Wait a minute... She snatched the letter up and tore it open, blinking down at the... Invitation? Never the brightest, Winnie finally caught on that the ball gown was meant for her, and, apparently, she now had two dates to the ball.

They had left at 1PM, after having partaken in a delicious lunch. Japanese cuisine tended to be nutritious and filling, something that more countries should take notice of and copy for themselves. Hiro had packed some seaweed and umaibo snacks to take to Hogwarts, unsure as to whether or not the foreign school had such snacks. He'd also taken some onigiri for the journey, as it would probably take them awhile to get there.
Before leaving Mahoutokoro, their professor had instructed them to appear quiet and non-intimidating towards others. Obviously, it was all an act, to make the other foreign schools believe they were weak, so they would drop their guard. It had a high chance of working because some of the other schools were known to be powerhouses, or flamboyant by nature. All eyes would probably be on them, which was really perfect.
Students from Mahoutokoro were more used to being patient than those from other schools. That trait helped them during the time they waited for the other two ships to take off, because if they didn't possess that quality, it would have been pure torture. When they finally took off, Hiro was happy their journey had started and would eventually end at Hogwarts. He'd heard a lot about the place and was quite curious.
He knew they were enemies.
Rivals. People he should be working against and trying to find out their weaknesses.
But at the same time, Hiro wanted to get to know them. There was nothing wrong with that, right? It wasn't as if he was going to divulge any secrets. And if anyone asked he could just say he was trying to get them to lower their guard around him, so he could find out their weaknesses. During the journey, Hiro made a nuisance of himself as usual and tried to talk to absolutely everyone on the ship. It was a feat to accomplish.
He didn't care if they were annoyed by him, it was just his thing to do.
And if he missed anyone, well there was nothing he could do about that, unless they came up to him. But who would do that? As Mahoutokoro's ship emerged from the water and settled onto the surface, Hiro went to the top deck and looked around at his surroundings. He hadn't buttoned his purple cloak around him, so the material fluttered about in the wind and rain. Thankfully, the magic spell on the ship kept him rather dry.
From his current vantage point, Hiro could see that the other two ships had already reached the shoreline. Only a few stragglers remained and most of those had capsized upon Mahoutokoro's arrival onto the scene. Hiro took a deep breath and let it out slowly, trying to remember the instructions again. Being quiet was going to be the hardest for him, as he was naturally a chatterbox. But for the sake of the professor...
He'd give it his best shot.
As the rowboats were taken out, Hiro waited until nearly all the students had gotten onto them. He didn't want anyone to be accidentally left behind and forgotten.
But when it was obvious everyone was there, he got into the next to last rowboat and was taken to shore. Upon reaching the shore, his eyes immediately alighted upon Puraido Mattaiasu. He was one of the harder to crack ones, Hiro had gone up to him multiple times and tried to talk but had been brushed off. Still, that didn't get him down, he was the type of person to continue to pursue people he decided to speak to.
Regardless of what they might think of him. But Hiro was too far away to do much of anything when it came to Mathias. Not to mention the fact that it seemed as if Mathias was busy at the moment, he was talking with some girl dressed all in pink. Lots of pink. Ooo, her hair looked really nice! It was loosely plaited into two sections and gave her a lovely look. Stepping onto the shore at last, Hiro was only a few steps away from them.
There seemed to be a confrontation that was going on with the two.
And then, Mathias decided to run from the girl.
Well, that was rather unexpected. Hiro raised a brow and couldn't help but run towards him. What was going on? There was obviously something between them.
Why was he running?
As the smokescreen occurred, Hiro somehow got turned around and ended up almost running into the girl instead. And a pair of heels came out of nowhere to smack him on the head. He winced, reached up to rub his forehead and blinked upon seeing the girl on the wet ground before him. She looked a bit stunned and he looked down and came forward to extend a hand out towards her. "Anata wa daijōbu?" Hiro asked the girl.
Translation: You okay?

Why was it that Mathias abandoned her for months just to reappear with gifts? Did he regret his choice to break up with her and assume giving her a beautiful gown would make it all okay? She couldn't be purchased! ... Even if she would likely wear the gown to the ball. Should she tell Levi about it? No... She was supposed to be keeping an eye on Levi, not letting him in on what Matt was doing. Maybe they were both setting her up, maybe this was some sort of cruel joke that Levi had brainwashed Matt into. Clenching her fist, Winnie wrinkled the letter up before shoving it too inside of the leather satchel.
She was about to push herself up and storm back towards the castle, but a boy with lovely hair was offering her his hand. When he first spoke to her Winnie was worried there was something wrong with her, "What...?" She tilted her head in confusion, before realizing he was speaking another language. "Oh! I'm so sorry, but I only speak English and Irish." Her eyes flickered from the boy down to the pair of shoes that had fallen. They matched the dress that Mathias had given her. Had they smacked her fellow pink-lover?
"S-Sorry about that." She offered Hiro a weak smile as she reached out to accept his hand. "That was my boyfriend... Ex-boyfriend, I think? He's barely spoken to me since he changed schools and now suddenly he's giving me gifts AND RUNNING AWAY FROM ME LIKE A COWARD!" The Ravenclaw suddenly screamed over her shoulder, as if she expected Mathias to still be able to hear her. Given how loud the girl was, it was entirely possible. A flush coloured her cheeks when she suddenly remembered the boy standing in front of her. She had to say something to break the tension, and quickly. ".. Sorry again, he just makes me so angry and--... I really love your hair. It's such a nice colour." She blurted out.

Louca was grinning with excitement, and slightly shivery from the cold water but he was happy. Mind you it would likely be a bit rough when he got out and had to face the chilly spring air while wet, plus who knew if he would have a chance to change into dry clothes? But really it didn’t matter. He was having fun now and that was what mattered. Louca continued pulling his body through the water, making sure to keep an eye out for any rowboats and doing his best to avoid it. He also took the time to look around at the castle that was growing closer as he approached the shore. It looked like it had many secrets, and Louca couldn’t wait to explore. He had already spent a lot of time trying to discover some of the secrets of Ilvermorny and he hoped to find others who were looking to do the same whether Hogwarts students or from one of the other schools. After all, everything was more fun with a group.
Louca had stopped paying as much attention, instead day dreaming about adventures to be had, and he was surprised to realize he was so close to a rowboat. Looking at the shivering student inside, he decided it was time to start trying to make nice. Swimming closer to the boat, he made sure he was still out of the range of the oars, not wanting to get hit in the head. That would hurt and while adventures were fun, he did not feel like getting beaned upside the head. ”Hey there! Nice day for a swim, eh?” Louca kept himself floating, moving as best he could with the boat. ”Wonder what’s going to happen next? I’m sure they’ll have to give everyone a chance to change, probably don’t want everyone dripping inside the castle.”

█Both the Ilvermorny and Durmstrang ships arrived at the same time, the former contributing a spectacular set of fireworks to the display. Cassie, though, ignored the American ship (from which Drew would be making his way) for now, instead focusing all her attention on the rowboats which were slowly making their way further from the Crusader and towards the shore. On one of them was Charles, but she couldn't make out any of the boats' occupants through the heavy rain. Some people around her had drawn umbrellas or cast umbrella charms, but Cassie had made the unfortunate descision to leave both her umbrella and her wand back at the accomodation which had been prepared for the students of Beauxbatons, so she was one of the few who just got soaked.
For a moment, Cassie wondered what her teachers, who had made so much fuss about her and her classmates' appearance when they had arrived earlier, would think of her now: shivering in the cold, hair plastered to her face and neck, clothes drenched through (it was just as well Cassie had changed out of her uniform almost as soon as she was able to), mud-covered trainers practically containing a lake themselves. At least she didn't have any makeup spilling down her face, because she wasn't wearing any.
The moment the boats started reaching the shore, Cassie made her move, hopping from one to the other until - there! - she found the one containing the one and only Charles Alluring. Cassie's frantic waving was probably enough to identify her, but she also ran over and helped to tug their boat onto the shore so that Charles and whoever he was with could get out. Then she gave Charles a hug, covering him in water if he wasn't soaked already. "It's so good to see you again!"

calming presence in effect.
[quote]────────────────────────────❀────────────────────────────
"Pluvia Velo."
Lucie squinted at the rain through her spelled umbrella as their boat rocked unsteadily towards the shore, wand pointed upwards. Some had already made their way towards land, while others weren't so lucky, boats tipping back and forth until they eventually tipped all the way. She desperately wanted to help them somehow but found that she really couldn't - not in these conditions, and so there she swayed.
The boat made its descent as they rowed towards the shoreline, slowly but surely. Thankfully, her trunk was still intact. Lucie stepped onto the grounds, which had already been filled with people from other schools. She didn't personally recognize many, though a few looked slightly familiar from what she remembered from their last visit. Lucie hadn't met many from Hogwarts yet, or from any of the other schools, really, but she didn't mind that much. She kept to herself, anyways.
Lucie mostly lingered out of curiosity, not out of an incentive to meet someone entirely new. In fact, doing so terrified her. People could be a lot to handle, especially for Lucie. There wasn't much she could do to predict what might be thrown her way, so she preferred to stay by herself, or with someone she was already familiar and comfortable with. That way, she knew what would happen; she was in control. Interacting with completely new faces stripped that away.
Lucie made her way away from the large crowds that were starting to form of friends reuniting after months away, people chatting and making new acquaintances, and... talking. She spotted a lone figure, standing all by themself, staring up at the sky. That seems nice.
She did, however, spot no trace of an umbrella. That seems stupid.
Two sides of Lucie battled against each other. Did she really want to approach this person, someone she'd never spoken to before? (although she did think she knew him, had probably seen him around at Ilvermorny sometime, though she couldn't be sure) But he was drenched at the moment, without a shield to protect him against the plitter plattering of the rain.
Hogwarts really did make people insane.
Finally, one side won over the other, and she ran up to him, raising her wand to cover both of them. She noticed he was staring up at the sky intensely, for some reason. She followed his gaze upwards.
To talk or not to talk?
"Are you looking for something?"

It was only when the girl before him tilted her head to the side and a look of confusion appeared on her face that he realized he'd been speaking in Japanese. And she obviously didn't understand his language. Hiro paused for a moment, trying to remember how to speak English and then spoke again. "You okay?" He'd spontaneously learned English and Korean, just because he thought it might be useful.
There were many foreign students one might encounter in Quidditch. But it was coming in handy right now too. Hiro wasn't completely fluent in English, but he could speak it well enough to carry on a decent conversation. Korean was also at the same level. It was just he didn't have people to practice with on a regular basis, so that was why his language skills weren't the best. Perhaps Hiro could get better during his stay.
As she took his hand and apologized for the shoes hitting him in the head, Hiro shook his head with a smile. "Oh it's fine, I get shoes shooting out of boxes that strike me in the head on a regular basis. It's nothing out of the ordinary!" He said, jokingly, although part of that did happen to be true. Hiro raised a brow when the girl spoke about her boyfriend or ex-boyfriend from before. Ah, so that was who she was.
As she screamed over her shoulder at the out-of-vision-ranged unfortunate Mathias, Hiro couldn't help but chuckle. It seemed to him as if she had it bad for his fellow classmate. While the girl's head was turned, Hiro stooped and picked up the pink shoes from the mud. He wasn't getting rained upon because the professor had cast an umbrella charm over his head earlier. But that didn't stop mud from getting onto him.
When the girl turned back to face him again, apologized for her outburst and then gave him a compliment about his hair, Hiro grinned at her. "It looks like we both have a passion for pink. Nice choice." He said good-naturedly and handed her the pink shoes. "They got a bit muddy but I'm sure you know a cleansing charm. I'd do it myself but we're not allowed to use magic right now." Hiro told the girl.
It was only then that it dawned on him, they hadn't actually introduced eachother yet.
"Bakugo Hiro desu. O namae wa?" Hiro shook his head after the words came out of his mouth. He'd accidentally lapsed into Japanese again and raised his hand to stop her from speaking right off the bat. It took him a few seconds but then he managed to translate what he'd just said into English. "I'm Hiro Bakugo. What's your name? Sorry, it's a habit to speak in Japanese." He apologized, scratching his head a bit.
His English was actually quite good, for being self-taught at home. But then, it wasn't as if he had any duties to fulfill as his parents didn't give a damn about him.
Translation: My name is Hiro Bakugo. What is your name?

![]() | Puraido Mattaiasu Mentions: @Winnie Harper |

He looked calm, standing there looking down at Winnie Harper in the rain. She would not see the expression he donned, she would not know the thoughts that went through his head. It was why he wore the mask, how he could yield nothing. There was a part of him that wanted to offer assurance, that wanted to give in but he knew better. He needed to stay the course.
A smoke screen would herald his escape. The calm poised demeanor forfeited in the privacy of the darkness as he fled. His heels digging into the moist, stony earth, he fled and he hid. Yes, it was one of those moments were if one could see where he went they would see a frenzied youth dressed for Halloween make a bounding leap and disappear for a time. At least until his shrieking paramour has left the vicinity.
It was dark and wet where he hid. It mattered not how long he would be required to stay, of the choices he had made to date this was one of the easiest.
As for his peers, they did not know him. Not really. He was simply strange, aloof but an academic. His navy robes earned him the respect his personality would fail to procure. They only knew the name he was given there by the Professors, the romanization of his true name. They knew he ate alone, he studied alone, he spoke to nobody, not even his roommate(s). [If someone wants to claim they share a living space with him, that is fine.] They would simply know him to be someone that was fastidious in his cleanliness, everything he wore was ironed and clean. His belongings were neat and orderly, free of dust and detritus. As if he had some sort of obsessive compulsion to keep things neat. In truth it was to hide any truths that could be gleaned from his errors, from his waste. He ate alone, preferring fare he had bought. He boarded at the school but there was a rumor that he had a younger brother. His brother also a student and significantly more chatty. The boy was "evil" some would claim, a "blonde sociopath."
She was doing as he expected. Profess they had broken up. That they were no more. Perhaps she had broken things off with him and this was the intended conversation, one he refused to have if that was the case. No, he was well aware of the consequences of connections at a critical time such as this. The Professors were aware as well. The placid surface of the wizarding world was a lie, something deep beneath the surface was unraveling. He was going to take the advantages left for him in the wake of his cousin's "tragic" death and he was going to complete his mission.
Some stories should never be told...
